My Satellite C650 (PSC08E) freezes

Hello. I hope that someone can help you.

My laptop is freezing when I browse the internet or perform several tasks, at a very low level, as a youtube song to listen to and talk with friends on Facebook.

My bios v1.2, y at - it update?

It would help struggling my solution?

Best regards

On this virtual path, it is not easy help. Who knows why this is happening there?
Since when did you notice these freezing issues?
Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?

Check what processes are running in the background. Please close some that you need and test to see if this will help. Try to change the high performance power plan. Play with it to see what happens.

In the end, I must say that you should back up all your data and in the worst case reinstall OS HARD drive recovery option and start using the laptop with the settings to see if the same thing happens again.

You know that's not easy to say why this is happening.

Now there's the Rams with 1066 MHz frequency.

    Satellite C650-1CC (PSC08E-03H006CZ)

According to specification for laptop, your laptop can be upgraded up to 4 GB. For the moment, there must be 3 GB inside and one of the modules is 2 GB. Only thing you can do is to get the same second RAM and use 2 x 2 GB. It must be DDR3 1066 MHz (PC3-8500).

You must use the identical two Rams and you will have only a few compatibility problems.

    Hello

Simply said; You can listen to the sound using headphones, but can not hear the sound on the speakers. Right?

Have you noticed this early? Have you installed a few 3rd party applications may affect the functionality of speaker? Maybe some Windows updates can affect this?

Please check the settings in the control panel-> sound-> the Read tab

As a last resort, I recommend for recovering the device I want to say, it looks a bit because of speaker, but I strongly recommend to test the laptop with the factory settings.

Dear forumers, hope you can help me help my mother :-)

She has a Satellite C650-1 CT part No... PSC08E-03M001EN.
Unfortunately, she was not able to use it because there was a power failure after she left on the mode 'sleep'.

It starts and pressing f2 or f12 works. 95% + of the keyboard does not work.
The arrow keys work only half the time and there is no way top select any option.

I read the link below, but there is no option for 'repair your computer' and so I do not know what to do next.

The laptop goes in a loop "the installation program starts services.

    Help is greatly appreciated!

    > It starts and pressing f2 or f12 works. 95% + of the keyboard does not work.
    > The arrow keys work only half the time and there is no way top select any option.

You are able to use the external USB keyboard?
Connect the external keyboard and check if you can select the recovery of HARD drive menu option.
In case of malfunction of the internal keyboard, using the external USB keyboard should work.

But if you will not be able to perform HARD drive recovery, even if the external USB keyboard is connected,
I recommend you use the recovery disk.

Have you created the recovery disc in the past?
Do you have any other Microsoft Windows installation disc clean?

  • Satellite C650-1CR - no webcam showing in Device Manager

    Hello

I apologize if this question has already been posted. I have a Satellite C650-1CR; PSC08E-029001EN part number; Serial number 7A370192Q. Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

The webcam, which has worked before, does not now in any program. In MSN it says I have no webcam; in Toshiba Face Recognition, he says camera failed to initialize. I have nothing to this fact - it has just stopped working. If I click on the Toshiba web camera application in the utilities section, nothing happens. The camera does not appear in Device Manager - there is no device images shown.

I read through the advice here and you have downloaded the driver here, but that does not open. He goes as far as the extraction of the file, but then it will not run or open. I have the latest BIOS (update from Toshiba a couple of days). If I can avoid it, I don't really want to use the recovery disk I have many other things on my laptop that I don't want to lose.

Any advice or help would be really appreciated. My son just moved to Australia, and it would be great for me to be able to use the webcam. I hope I gave enough information on the laptop and the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.
    Linda

    Hey Buddy,

So if there is no webcam listed in Device Manager, you must check the installed programs in Control Panel > uninstall a program. Usually the webcam software should be in there and if yes remove it. Then, restart your computer.

To remove all also run a registry cleaner like CCleaner which can remove old registry keys. It s freeware tool is therefore no problem to find using Google. After that you have to reboot your laptop again and then install the latest webcam software from the official page of Toshiba.

Even after restart and you should be able to use the webcam again. Can you confirm this?

  • Problems of recovery on the Satellite C650-182

I'm trying to fix a friends computer, it has formatted and deleted all the partitions on the hard drive and tried to install Windows 7 but still get the message that the installation can be done?

The following is the error message when trying to install: "windows cannot be installed to this disk. This hardware of computers may not support booting to this disk. Make sure that the disk controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

Then, he said the following: windows cannot be installed to this disk. "The disk may not soon."

I know that the hard drive is fine!

The complete model number is: Toshiba Satellite C650-182 part no: PSC08E-02J001EN

    Any help would be wonderful.

Are you using the original Toshiba recovery DVD for the installation of the OS?
Your friend has created this disk in the past?

Before you begin installation of recovery BIOS default value.

  • Satellite C650 - Touchpad problem

Toshiba Satellite C650 - 13G PSC08E I found that the touchpad, wasn't work and left click did not work, tried all the fixes on the forum.

    Check the BIOS and update
    Function key, fine activated

That all controlled parameters appear in order, so I assumed a defective left click button.
I bought the new palmrest with touchpad and after exactly the same problem.

I can get it to work as a left-handed mouse, right button works as the left should, all other functions are fine except not left click.

Surely, I couldn't be pretty unlucky to have bought a palmrest with broken so left click button (it's new)

    Any help would be appreciated

What I will say maybe you were simply no chance and you had installed another faulty touchpad module, but to be honest, it will be very strange

In my case, the control panel? mouse? last tab (Setup button) contain additional options to control the touchpad features.

My laptop uses the touchpad Alps and the Alps touchpad utility is installed.
This tool provides additional parameters for touchpad left and right, click.
I did not change these options, but of course it of possible to disable the left and right click in this area.

  • Satellite C650 - Question about cooling fan

I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite C650 with processor i3 Intel and Windows 7 Home. When I see the bottom cover there are no holes for the cpu cooling fan intake air (there only the circle mark on the case under the cooling fan). Pls confirm me it is a manufacturing defect or not.

I also ran a cpu + the base temperature software and find core temp goes up to 72 ° C in one step and I feel very hot blowing through the radiator.

    Hey Buddy,

    > When I see the bottom cover there are no holes for the cpu cooling fan intake air
Who is normal and it s according to the laptop and the material. Different laptops have different cooling systems. This would mean that there are some laptops with no holes directly under the fan air intake. For fresh air holes are placed elsewhere to generate some air flow. If the other pieces of equipment can be cooled as well.

There are already some threads here in the forum and as you can see it's really normal:

    > I also ran a cpu + basic temperature software and found core temp goes up to 72 ° C in one step, and I feel very hot blowing through the radiator.
How did you check the temperature?
Always it is if everything works well don t care about the temperature. In this case, that the laptop could overheat, it would off himself to protect the equipment. ;)

  • Satellite C650 - face graphic without text

    Hello.

4 laptops on the line. I recently bought my computer laptop replacement as my previous L300 toshiba had a hard drive failure within the warranty? It is a C650.

its been settled up to my taste and work very well apart from a bit of slow speed... even with a faster processor.
yesterday, I decided to set the brightness of the screen. This laptop has a different then my laptop L300 driver system. the graphics driver has settings, but you need to change the graphics Control Panel. Once again these slimming down of functions add the tedious nature of the newer machines have also no direct control over the audio either. overall, you can say im disappointed before even I have no problems.

Back to the question. the graphic Panel. Well, I havnt messed with it since I made the very 1st installation. I have the brightness using a grayscale chart and left a light touch. the function of /control module allows me to turn down the brightness. F6 F7 Bright shining down upwards.
as the hours of the day change... I opened the graphics Panel to adjust the setting. for some reason the text in the Panel has empty fonts displayed as oblong squares.
Ive been looking for clues without a bit of luck.
    1. I uninstalled the driver and re-installed without change.
2 ive cleaned the hard drive and empty manually the Temp folder... all except 1 file?
3 ive searched the net also with no luck either.
4 ive checked the Device Manager to search for the missing files. everything looks ok

any idea? I know that the driver is an Intel and I know this isn't a STD pilot... as usual for this laptop. the system is XP SP3. I have this on my other computer toshiba laptop with no bother. all functions worked fine until recently... which i cannot say when this error occurred. I know that the graphic Panel worked as I used it. (you need to get the right screen using this Panel)... help
    Russ

    Hi Russ

After reading your ad I want to be close to you and see what it is exactly you do and what your issue/problems.
I saw Satellite C650 at my dealer and it seems to be very nice machine so I m really surprised, you have problems with the brightness settings.

    >... for some reason the text in the Panel has empty fonts displayed as elongated seats
Can you please make a screenshot? I would like to see what it looks like.

Incidentally: in my view, by default settings, brightness, contrast, color, gamma, and all the other parameters are optimized and perfect level so I m asking you want to change anything.
Only what we can do is to change the intensity of the brightness and it can be done with the FN + F6/F7 key combination.

Is it not enough for you?

  • Satellite C650 - is slow on the first day

Got a new Satellite C650 two weeks ago. Everything on it runs very slowly.

Abandoned entirely on Internet Explorer and positioned on Google Chrome, which helped, but it is nowhere near as fast it should be. I use a broadband wireless connection which works fine on other laptops in the House. I read that I should look at disabling some start-up processes that are not necessary but which? Toshiba has loads of their race and I don't have any idea what they are.

I should add that I also installed BitDender antivirus software and that is the only addition I made.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest it is always difficult to discuss issues such as a series of portable computers slow down because nobody knows what exactly you were doing and what additional programs that you have installed.

Done if you have installed another anti-virus software, make sure that the pre-installed McAfee of Toshiba is removed.
If you have two antivirus installed, they will slow down the performance.

You can also defragment the HARD drive. This can also increase performance.

Finally and above all it s always advisable using the forum search. You will find a large number of discussions on this issue.

  • Satellite C650 does not read 4 GB mirco SD card

    Hello

I have a problem reading my micro SD card. It is not a HS card, just a normal mirco SD 4 GB card.
I insert it into the SD slot, but my computer does not respond what so ever.

I downloaded the Realtek card reader but stil nothing.
I'm afraid that I might have deleted the bridge media in the list of programs.

    Can someone help me please.

Thank you very much in advance
    Luke Long

    Hello

The Satellite C650 card reader supports SD card, SDHC, MultiMediaCard card and mini SD card in the SD adapter.

    microSD card are not supported.

PS: Check the status of card reader in Device Manager. Then, you will know if the pilot was properly installed. If there is no yellow? signs near the card reader, then everything should be ok

  • Connection to the Internet by Satellite C650-110

    Hello

I'm no computer expert, but I thought kind of that set up internet on my new laptop would not be a problem... I have the Satellite C650-110. My NET connection is a connection broadband Virgin hard wire Medis and currently, I connect to the internet vis USB as my old office does not have an ethernet port. I tried to plug the USB into the laptop and it does not work. I also tried the ethernet port screw.

I tried to set up new connections in the Panel, I downloaded the driver from this site, I phoned Virgin who say that the bandwidth is fine but there is no network LAN on the PC. Is it possible to buy a new PC without a network lan installed?

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you

Your laptop's LAN and WLAN cards inside, so it shouldn't be any problem on the Internet connection.

To check first if it please the Device Manager and make sure that the LAN and WLAN cards are listed under network adapters. Can you confirm this?

I put t really understand what you do but the connection to the local network is simple. Take the LAN cable and connect your computer laptop o the router. After a few seconds, you should be able to access the internet.
