  I tried using PowerCLI to edit addresses IP of VM to a list in a text file.  I recently learned about the Invoke-VMScript cmdlet and tried to use it rather than possibly to perform this task with the cmdlet Get - WMI win32_networkadapterconfiguration and active the EnableStatic method.  I tried the following script:

  $b is the list of virtual machines on the host and their IP addresses would be replaced by $a, which lists the new IP addresses generated before hand.  I used $i as the loop to stop the script when it reaches the end of list $a as well as the table number corresponding to a virtual computer with each new IP address.  If ideally in my head it would work like this: $i starts at 0 which is the first line of these two variables $b and $a, change a VM with the first IP in the list, increase $i by 1, loop back and repeat with the next VM and address until the end.

  Error message when you run the script, I got is:

  Invoke VMScript found Virtual Machine with the name "X.X.X.X".

  Any comments would be greatly appreciated and please feel free to comment if you know maybe other ways who can change IP of VM addresses in a list with all the other functions.

  The $b variable contains the IP addresses of all the network adapters on your guests.

  Unless your guests are also registered with the IP address, PowerCLI will not be able to find the virtual machine.

  You must use the Name property.

  The 2nd problem is that the IPaddress.txt file must have a column showing to what VM and what NETWORK card is the new IP address.

  It would be easier if you use a CSV file with a layout like this

  VM, NICname, IPaddr

  VM1, 1,192.168.1.1 Local network connection

  VM2, Local 1,192.168.1.2 network connection
