My touchpad is reversed

so that's what's happened, I still use my computer with a mouse. but unfortunately one day I used the keyboard to find that right-clicking is the left click and the left click is right click. can someone help me please?

Hi Alan!

S ' please click the button "Start" and type "mouse" in the box.

-Click the 'Mouse' option under the heading "Control Panel." The mouse properties window will open.

-Click on the tab "Device settings" or "Touch Pad", according to the manufacturer of your touchpad. If you have a "Device settings" tab, you will then need to click your touchpad in the list of devices and click on "settings".

-Click on the 'Left hand' or 'Left hand' options to set up your buttons on the touchpad.

-Click 'OK' at the bottom of the window to close and save the changes.

NOTE: If no parameters are available for your touchpad in the mouse properties window, it probably means that your drivers are no longer there or are most recognized. Go to the web page of the manufacturer of your laptop to download and install the new touchpad drivers and settings should appear.

Hope this is useful.

See you soon

  • Satellite click Mini L9W - b: Touchpad is reversed in Windows 10

    Hello

I've updated my Mini click for Windows 10. I encountered a problem where sometimes my touchpad does not work correctly. Rather than make the pointer up and down when you are prompted, the pointer will go left and right. When you perform the movement to pass the pointer to the left and right, it goes up and down. To avoid the problem, I connect a mouse or use the touchscreen, but it is still quite annoying.

After the click mini boot, this appears to be 50% of the time... I guess it's a software problem. Is there a solution? Is this a known issue?

    Try the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R

In the run box, type regedit and press enter

In the registry editor, navigate to the following

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit

Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b104s: Sleekbook HP 15 - Touchpad Synaptics with Windows 10

    Hi all!

I will try to be as brief as possible.

Yesterday, I upgraded from 8.1 to win to win 10 on my Hp Pavilion Sleekbook 15; everything seems to work pretty well, except for the Synaptics touchpad.

First Win10 start I notice scrolling is reversed (Mac style) and Synaptics touchpad icon had disappeared from the status bar. Not a big deal: I go in settings and as usual, disable "reverse scrolling" and activate the icon back to the status bar.

It works like a charm, and I think I've sorted it.

However, after reboot, the icon disappeared again from the Board and my touchpad is reversed again. For how I try, it always comes back to the defaults after restarting.

Enable/disable the touchpad, unistalling and re - install the updated drivers do not resolve the issue.

So I open regedit, to try to change channels manually.

The string 'TrayIcon' was easy to find: value passed under '0' to '1' and the icon magically appears and always remains in the status bar. Inverted AX drives me crazy.

I couldn't find any string on the inverted scrolling, and the only way to change it is manually whenever I restart my laptop. Can anyone help with this?

I think that the only ways to solve this problem would be to replace the string correspondent in regedit (to keep uninverted for, as with the icon in the status bar) or change something to make these changes saved after reboot.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you very much!

    Quick update of people.

Thanks for the link I temporary solved the problem! I got my driver for the touchpad, version 19 to 18.

    Here is the link: http://support.hp.com/ee-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-u300-x360-convertible-pc/7771362/model/8255118#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2

Now the settings remain saved after restarting too.

Thank you all! If all goes well they'll fix with the next update.

In any case to change the direction of scrolling for touchpad?

    Hello

I don't have this model of laptop, but on the machine of mine with Win8.1 in the properties of the touchpad, there is option of scrolling under multi-doigt. Scrolling options can be changed. Under options, there are also rear option, which can be enabled or disabled.

  • Satellite ALPS touchpad without normal scrolling only reverse

I have my new laptop for 1 week and 1 thing guard bothers me:
It is only possible to inverted 2-finger scrolling which feels very natural to me. I want to be able to scroll normally: down to bottom and vice versa

I tried to replace the driver with the most recent and also a few other drivers but no work or same result.
pls advice because they are a deal breaker for me!

I don't know what version of ALPS using you but, as far as I know, there are more options for scrolling. You can use one or two finger scrolling options and they separately can be enabled or disabled.
On some versions of software, this option is called multi finger scroll or distinct option called "edge scrolling.

Have you checked all the options available?

  • Logitech k400 touchpad scrolling (and scroll wheel works does not in general)

I use Firefox Beta 19 for Android on a mini MK808 PC (but this also applies to other devices when using any kind of keyboard/mouse combo external;) I tried also with a Tablet Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition with similar results).

My keyboard is a Logitech K400 with a touchpad. It must scroll the page when we slide down/up with two fingers. The feature does not work in Firefox; Instead, I have to hold the mouse button and drag a finger. The gesture of two-finger scrolling works with Chrome and the browser of stock on this device, this issue should be repairable. It's a little annoying because Firefox is differently from other applications.

In addition, during this test with another real with a mouse wireless keyboard/mouse combo I found that the mouse scroll wheel does not work. Again, it works in Chrome, so it is a behaviour Firefox only. (In fact, it makes perfect sense, because scrolling with two fingers to the keyboard Logitech is to emulate the scroll wheel). This is actually good news, because now I'm sure enough many users will be offended by this bug and it should be fixed.

Note: in case this information is useful, the scrolling mouse work on Firefox start page with thumbnails of the most used links, but not on the other pages.

    Added: Find the bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=686228

Apparently, there's a difficulty, but when he reached the beta channel?

Yes! He works in Aurora! Even if for some reason, the logic is opposite to that of Chrome (scrolling down moves the page down in the window instead of the top). I can live with that.

Edit: well, it works partially in Aurora. Scrolling of the Mouse/touchpad does not work on pages that have fields independently scrollable (for example, the web interface of Tweetdeck with different columns) or the parts that are supposed to be stationary. I hope that (and reverse the direction) will be fixed later.

  • spectrum x 360: ScrollBar and Touchpad heat problems

Hi everyone, I just got my x 380 13-4110dx spectrum model. After months of research on laptops, I settled on the spectrum, and it had shipped all the way from the United States to Bangladesh here. Needless to say that the questions arises as soon as I turned on the thing, so that's:

    TOUCHPAD:
This is the big one. I'm used to having the page move down with my fingers while two fingers to scroll, but the direction of travel is reversed by default with coasting trade licence. However, when it is turned off reverse the scrolling and cabotage in the settings of synaptics it seems to work on some applications and not anothers. I tried to reset the onboard computer and reinstall the driver software AND I also tried to install the latest drivers from the synaptics Web site. Nothing works not so far

    HEAT:
The bottom tends to run very hot even with normal web browsing, so I can not put the thing on my lap for a long time. I have install the fan to operate always from the BIOS, but its still the same. At this temperature, I do not know how long the material is going to hold up

Sorry for the long post, I really hope you guys can help me understand things

After a lot of frustration, for the past few weeks my touchpad has been behaving satisfactorily. Here's what I've done, maybe it will help someone else here who has the same problem:

    • Make sure the driver is updated to 192.0.12.107
    • Go to Device Manager, open the properties of the mouse and click on 'Update device driver.
    • In the wizard that opens, click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    • Then select "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
    • In the next window, uncheck "See list of compatible hardware" and search for and select "Synaptics Clickpad SMBus"
    • Install and reboot the computer

Windows installs the driver Synaptics Touchpad of SMBus by default, which leads to the scrolling issues I was experiencing. The pilot clickpad works much better. I don't know how the two drivers are different, but it worked for me

  • Satellite M50A - ELAN touchpad stopped working - again!

Do not forget this recent thread?

    https://Forum.Toshiba.EU/showthread...topped-working

Well guess what that my mouse and touch pad stopped working again today, this time during a Windows Update (and not after) - and guess what... the 'momentum - other hardware - MOMENTUM Input Device"was one of the updates, as well as the last time.

The good news, for me, anyway, is that this time the problem was temporary. After forcing a restart by a long press on the power button, mouse and touchpad has been restored after finishing installing updates.

EDIT - just to say that my touchpad customizations for example reverse scroll direction, 3 finger tap to start the browser etc were all lost. Not much, just a nuisance

And as a follow-up, after you change the registry to restore the functionality to launch my favorite browser with a finger 3 press on (see another thread for reason of why I had to use regedit) I've had intermittent results.

Now, I realized that the 3 finger 'press' feature seems to have disappeared to be replaced by a '3 fingers' touch. It is not documented that I can see, the registry key names remained the same, but pressing done nothing at all works a 3 persistent finger touch.

  • Satellite U400 - PSU40E Synaptics touchpad problem after the recent update to BIOS

    Toshiba welcome,

I've tested this in reverse, this is why the statement in the subject as it looks. After upgrading the bios of 3.00 to 3.50 touchpad loses its precision. Very rude and useless its like that.

I tried different drivers, everything, but the only way to really solve this problem was it downgrade to 3.00 OR uninstall the driver Synaptics completely. Second solution, unfortunately, is unacceptable, because then I lose some features, like click on contact, which I don't use and control.

    Best regards

    Hey Buddy

I U400 and the BIOS has been updated to the newest one.
The touchpad works like a dream. I m using Win XP and Vista and there is NO problems after BIOS update!

In your case, this may be only a software problem and I think you can use the Toshiba Recovery disk and could reinstall the whole OS from the Toshiba drive

It is a really radical solution because the whole HARD disk may be formatted, but if the resettlement of these two drivers touchpad didn t help then I think this would be the last solution.

After that I updated the drivers for my keyboard and touchpad, they usually answer or freze when the startup screen, xp appears.
Oh and it works before that.

    What can I do?

    Hello

Sorry mate but I put t understand how you have successfully updated the keyboard driver?
The keyboard driver is part of the Windows operating system, so it cannot be updated manually

Check to see if you can boot into safe mode.
Press F8, and then choose Safe mode. Then you can try to reverse the BONE at the beginning point of time before the OS was confused upward.

  • X 360 13-4101dx spectrum: spectrum x 360 (13-4101dx) Synaptics Touchpad issue

Hello, I just bought a new spectrum x 360 (13-4101dx), preloaded with Windows 10 and I have problems with the Synaptics touchpad. After an update of Windows, the driver has been updated to version 19.0.12.95.  I have a reverse scrolling disabled, but for some applications, the two fingers scrolling is always reversed. Applications like Google Chrome and Device Manager are working fine, reverse scrolling is disabled. However, for applications like Windows, Microsoft Edge settings and practically everything related to Windows, it seems to be reversed at all times. In addition, whenever I restart my laptop, all parameters returned to default.

Now, on my HP Envy 15-j000, I have the same driver (19.0.12.95) and that I encounter the same problems with being "permanent" reverse scrolling on Windows-related applications. However, the settings still restarts after every reboot.

How can I fix? Synaptics will publish a fixed driver for this or am I just missing something? I hate the reverse scrolling and only a small handful of my applications actually traveled with this option disabled.

I have this same problem with my HP OMEN using the 19.0.12.95 driver, windows update says that it is the latest version of the driver. Scrolling is reversed in some applications/settings.

I fixed this problem by going back to an older driver (18.1.30.2), the scrolling is now uniform. A little annoying that I had to fix this way, but I had to go to the drivers/HP Omen support page and download the driver for the synaptics touchpad (even if the HP website insist that use Windows update for Windows 10). I had to then install the old driver, go into Device Manager and do back the driver to 18.1.30.2 - win 10 will use the latest driver unless you do this. After that you can change the setting in the settings of the synaptics clickpad, and it will be uniform. This is what worked for me.

  • X 360 spectrum (4110dx): reverse the scrolling is not consistent throughout the BONE

I just got my X 360 spectrum and I have two reverse scrolling issues:

1 scrolling on the Touchpad does not always work. I found the option to turn it off (when I slide down, I want the screen to do the same thing), but it works only in some applications, like Google Chrome, but not in the settings or Windows store. Is it possible to get this to be consistent in all of everything?

    2. in addition, it resets after that I restarted my computer. My choice can be set to a default value?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

    Try the following.

First, download the installer of the Synaptics driver from the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72501-73000/sp72919.exe

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

When windows has reloaded, hold down the Windows key and press R

In the run box, type regedit and press enter

In the registry editor, navigate to the following

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit

Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.

    Close the registry editor.

Make the Synaptics setting changes you need in the usual way and save them, and then check if they are now kept after a reboot.

  • ALPS Touchpad strangeness on V5 - 573P

    Hello world

I have upgraded to Windows 10, everything seems almost smooth so far, with the exception of my touchpad. I use the finger double scroll function quite frequently, but now when I try to use it, I see a strange box poster (touch screen related, I think), then indeed, it scrolls the context menu opens up (like a right-click).  I end up having to run my fingers about 3/4 the way through the touchpad before it actually starts to scroll.  It is quite frustrating and impact on the usability of the laptop.

I downloaded and installed the Windows 10 drivers for the touchpad.  No help.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem as well, but some features are disabled (as the scrolling speed, reverse the scrolling, etc.).  Someone knows how to turn on these options?

I can probably save the screen for an example of what's going on.  Any ideas would be great.  Thank you!

Took a lot of digging (and gave a few times to the top) but I found the fix.

The Alps for Windows 10 (8.100.2020.212) driver is great.  The driver for Windows 8 (8.103.2020.206), despite being a newer driver, is absolute crap.  When I download the Windows 10 driver and everything works until Windows update detect that I don't have the latest touchpad driver automatically, it downloads and installs the latest driver.

Recently, I came across this article, which describes how to disable the automatic driver updates:

    http://winsupersite.com/Windows-10/stop-automatic-driver-updates-Windows-10

Follow the instructions to disable the driver updates.

Uninstall the drivers for the keyboard via the Device Manager and the Add/Remove Programs, and then restart, then download and install the driver Windows 10 stop and repeat.  It should work fine after that.
