My Vista computer becomes a C 8007371 error

So I had problems with my computer for a bit. It started with an error code when I went to do the updates (error 8007371C). It got progressively worse. Now, I get several messages-'Unable to connect to a windows service' at startup, "Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working and closed ws", and when I try to use command prompt or insert my Vista disk to try to solve the problem, he says that "the system cannot find the environment option that was concluded". I can't remove all programs - even when I try to run as administrator. Where to start to fix all this?

Hello

You can start with these methods

Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista

Windows Vista

Using the F8 method:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
  3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
  4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
  5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/

Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And run the SFC:

    Hi Comintern,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You receive an error message or error code?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

    Method 1:

Step 1: Start in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2: If the problem does not occur in safe mode, you can put your system to boot (in normal mode) to solve the problem.

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Method 2: I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While running scan on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning try to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

It seems that you have problems with downloading files on the windows vista computer.

The description of the problem seems a little unclear and I wish I had a better understanding before you start working on it. I would appreciate if you can help me with the following information.

    1. what browser you use on the computer?

    2. What is the exact full error message?

    3. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

    4. deal with this problem if you try to download all files from online?

If you do this in the face of Internet Explorer help, I suggest that you should change the default download location and check if it helps.

    Method 1

In internet explorer, you can change the default location.

    Here's how:

    a. open internet explorer.

    b. click on Tools , then select view downloads.

    c. downloads for window, click Options.

    d. now, enter the default download location and click on the OK button.

Turn on the computer at the beginning of boot and check if the problem persists.

    Method 2

Perform a clean boot to see if no third-party service is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: follow step 3 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

  • my computer turns off, no code error, no blue screen

my computer restarts auto no code error, no blue screen, it might be the drivers that I have installed or?  What can I do to solve this problem or found out how to solve this problem

    Hello Shelly,

Drivers could easily be the cause - or it could be quite a few other things.

I recommend a restore of the system to a restore point before you did what you did (when it was working fine).  If you use Windows 7, seehttp://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, seehttp://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, seehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084. Sometimes this simple process made the rounds and sometimes that doesn't help - but it is easy and worth if she has recently begun.

    Good luck!

  • Set up a home network on a Vista computer. Added my XP computer on the network. I can go on the internet but the signal strength is 'very low' 98% of the time.

I used a d-link WBR-1310 Wireless G router to set up the network on my Vista computer.  On my XP computer, I used an adapter G USB 2.0 Wireless d-link WUA-1340.  Both computers are single room apart and most of the time, the doors are open, so there is no major obstacle to interfere with the signal.  This is my first experience on the implementation of a network and I must admit I was a little unsure of myself.  I don't know if I have some incorrect settings or if the problem may be something else.  It is a WEP secure network but I don't think that's the problem.  My XP computer on the network automatically signs as soon as it starts.  I am trying to download the LLTP from Microsoft on my XP machine, but I don't know if this could be the problem.  I've been struggling with this problem for almost 4 weeks and I'm getting very frustrated.

PLEASE, I WELCOME ANYONE WITH AN IDEA OF WHAT I HAVE DONE WRONG, TO ANSWER!

I'm sorry, but I read your post and I do not understand what the problem is you want to solve.  Is something that does not properly?  If so, please give us the details: what you're trying to do, what happens when you do that, the text of the error messages, etc.

  • Windows Update loop on my Windows Vista computer on HP G70 laptop.

For the past month, every time windows update trys to start, my computer becomes real slow.  I check the Task Manager and find that 50% of the processor of my PC is busy.   By trail and error, I've always found that the task WUPFSVC works always at the time.   I went to services and stop the Windows Update Service and my CPU returned to 5-10%.

I restarted the service and went to one of the optional updates that I have not installed and when I have atttempted to install it, the computer are entered in a loop and never finished...  I had to cancel with the Task Manager.

The last bunch of updates have been installed on 25/06/2016...

I use Norton/360 and System Mechanic.   When I try to run System Mechanic and perform in-depth analysis, it goes into a loop also...

Any I deas would be useful...

Why should I install these updates, if I disable the updates anyway?
