My windows XP taskbar (bottom of screen) is frozen

My windows XP taskbar (bottom of screen) is frozen and that two tabs of the program are ('my computer' and 'sure shaw' - my anti-virus protection of server), but they are not accessible or able to be closed.

The taskbar is empty and only shows a vertical arrow head double whenever the screen cursor is hovering over him.  The only way I can access my programs running using the Task Manager and double click on the required program.  I can not even do a system restore, because I can't access the Start button.

Help, please!

I don't know what the cause of the gel (check with MalwareBytes Antimalware and SUPERAntiSpyware could be good measures to take, though), but you can run system restore by
Start > run > %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe > OK

Firefox on Windows is now after display, scaling options that can display text and or larger icons on high-resolution screens.
You can adjust the resolution of your screen.

    • If the warning that this might void your warranty , click I'll be careful, I promised.
    • Search for layout.css.devPixelsPerPx

    • Double-click layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to edit its value. The default value is - 1.0 in Firefox 22 and above. Change it to 1.0 to run as in previous versions of Firefox.

If necessary, further adjust the value of 0.1 or 0.05. Use values between 1.0 and around 0.5 to reduce the size of the elements. Use a value greater than 1.0 to increase size of. For example, a value of 1.25 will increase the font size of the 125% to account for the default DPI setting in Windows 8. Check the value that you enter. Definition of a value that is too small will take everything away and too high will explode things.

Seems to be a hardware failure, more specifically your graphics card.

    (1) turn off the computer, open the case and check that the graphics card is in place (not bad).

    (2) if the graphics card has a power cable to the back of the card, it must be well inserted.

    (3) you can try to remove and reinsert the card the motherboard if steps 1 or 2 provide no solution.

I have a HP desktop computer and you are using Windows Vista Home Premium.  The Office has been black for about a month now.  Again, I have the windows at the bottom bar and am able to navigate in all my programs through the start icon.  The computer seems to work very well - and analyses have not found something unusual.  That's happened?  How can I recover my office?  I can't start my computer Safe Mode (by pressing f8) and I find not "Accessories" in my list of programs, but I could find 'system restore', so I chose a point of restoration about 4 weeks ago, but he has failed.  Can you help me!

    Bozzhog,
I have Windows 7 and you are running Wow and World of Goo in full screen without any problems.  You are your games running in window mode and to maximize the window or you run full-screen mode?  Make sure that you put it up to full screen and not the mode window. Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).
If you are in full screen view then hover over with the mouse upward to make the bar appear Navigation and tab bar.
You can click the maximize button in the upper right to leave the mode full screen or empty space of a right-click on a toolbar and use "exit full screen" or press F11.

  • . How to change the location of the START/taskbar on the screen

Accidentally (I have it did not on purpose - I do not know if Windows did it without asking me) a few months ago, the START button and the taskbar got vertical to the right of the screen.  A technician came to the House and installed more memory in the computer. I asked to put the START/task bar on wallpaper - what service person did.  Now I find that I would prefer to START/vertical bar to the right of the screen again because I found out I'd rather that it this way.

I can't find something a lot of things I've tried, which allows me to change this part of the appearance of the screen.

The last thing I tried was to press each F for F1 to F12 keys to see if something useful would jump to the top.  No luck.

Someone at - it a tip to share?

You don't mention your version of Windows.

Right-click on the taskbar and unlock it. Take an empty place and drag it to the desired location. Lock the taskbar.
    For Win7:

Right click on the Start button. Properties | Tab taskbar | Location of the taskbar on the screen. Carry out the adjustment.

    Hello

A blackscreen can be very hard to fix. It's my generic convenience store which some you already have
    has tried.

    One to try:

"C:\Windows\System32\winevt" in this folder is an another NEWSPAPER named one

Rename the folder of NEWSPAPER LOGSold and restart the computer.

    'C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs'-> 'C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logsold '.

    REN C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logsold

You can try in a Command Prompt of a disk of Vista or a recovery Partition if you can't navigate to
    the actual winevt file.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe.

  • Windows starts to a black screen

    original title: I can't!

Recently, I did a system restore on my Dell Inspiron. Before I did the system restore, my computer could not cross the Logging Off screen. Now, the computer will ask me my password open a windows session, go through the screen of welcome, and after that the screen remains dark, all I can see is my mouse. I have the disk to reinstall Windows if that helps.

If it's a DVD of Microsoft Vista, not a recovery disk, read this:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

Boot from it and try a startup repair, etc.

If it's a Dell recovery disk, read this:

If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

  • window appears on the extended screen, but the screen isn't there anymore so can't get to the window (2nd screen on laptop is only when it is connected to the desktop)

Hi... interesting problem. I use my laptop computer on a desk with a second screen and moving.

The last time I was using my laptop on the desk, I brought an application (Quicken) on the second screen and now when I start it up it displays on-screen extended even if I use the standalone laptop. I can't demand because it appears in the second screen and I can't get it back to the main screen. I even rebooted and it seems to 'remember' where is was the last time.

Any thoughts on how to get it back (I know I can reconnect the second screen and move it back, but what about the time when I'm not near my office and want to access an application that was last used on the extended screen.)

    Argh...

Thanks for your thoughts, I assume that there is a simple key sequence to make it visible on the main screen once I can't find it anywhere.

    Kind regards

  • View topic - the games shown in a small window on the built-in screen

I have a SAT. 2805 S402 with Nvidia GeForce2Go chip. I was able to play a couple of my games to the resolution by default (1024 X 768) until I plugged in an external monitor. Now, it displays these games in a small window on the built-in screen. How can I reset this? I've updated my directx stuff, got hardware acceleration, the max value, etc.. DirectX or my driver Nvidia said games to display this way so they will better work?

As I said, I could read them before fullscreen, I added the external monitor. They were a bit blurry, but I liked better. Kyodai Mahjongg always play at 1024 X 768, but no Tetris 4000 or Atari Arcade.

    Hello

I put t think directx will help to run these very old games using the full screen.
In addition, you should always use the Toshiba graphics driver and not the original manufacturer s driver. The Toshiba driver is a slim original graphic driver version and includes a graphics card, protection against overheating.
I think that this problem occurs only on some games and other games works ok so I n c ELA think other drivers will solve this problem.
