Yes I had problems with my LexmarkX4850 AIO they sent new multi update driver everything?
As far as I know is I have given very important information and know poor backup but I can't lose these months of searching to get help with my RITS and other doctors who left my 2 kids and myself completely buried but alive!

Hi pjf707,

  1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
  2. You have security software installed on the computer?
  3. Are you still experiencing problem with the Lexmark printer?
  4. Exactly when you receive the system error?

Method 1

Check if the problem persists in safe mode and then with the results.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

Method 2

If the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

My recommendation, you use Windows XP, uninstall the Windows Desktop Search and never install it again.

Option 1: In Add/Remove programs with the box checked next to 'Show updates' above checked locate "Windows Desktop Search 4.0" in the list and uninstall/remove it. "

Option 2: If the above fails, you can use this method to remove...

    1. click on Start , type cmd.
    2. now, in the result of the research with right-click on cmd.exe and select run as administrator.
    3. type regsvr32 /u "%programfiles%\Windows Desktop Search" and press ENTER.

For users of Windows XP for most it does, IMO, is slowing down the system.

  • Operating system changed from Windows 7 to Windows XP Home Edition. You will need to download Audio Driver & video Controller.

I changed the OS on my laptop Toshiba from Windows 7 to Windows XP Home Edition. Everything seems to work fine, except that there is no sound. Checked PC Device Manager and noticed that I need to download & install a high definition Buss Audio Audio driver and a video controller (VGA Compatible).

You need visit Toshiba support and download the drivers that you need for Windows XP for your laptop model specific. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the system (or manufacturer) to write drivers for their products for different operating systems - not Microsoft.

In addition, if your PC Toshiba laptop comes with Windows 7 so it's a fairly new machine, if this model was never sold with Windows XP may not be drivers for Windows XP.

    I hope this helps.

  • XP Home Edition genuine key but need software

I have an old PC which begins to experience what looks like a hard drive failure. Windows XP Home Edition is no longer charge despite trying many options of safe mode and the command prompts. I have a genuine XP Home Edition license key on the side of my case, but I have never had the drives.

I tried to find a download and a phone number to talk to a human being, but it's impossible! Is it possible that I can download Win XP home edition, or request a CD that I can use my key authentic with?

    Thank you

    Mark

If XP was preinstalled and then to be in compliance with the license of manufacturers, the vendor of the computer SHOULD give you a method of the computer back to factory State, by hidden partition or recovery CD.

See the documentation provided with your computer or contact the seller directly. They should be able to provide at least a CD of recovery (for a small fee of course...)

  • Installation of Windows XP Home Edition _ ~ No. CD__ ~ Yes produced Code__ ~ Yes CD or floppy disk bootable__ ~ original OS

I want to install Windows on the computer, that I got from my grandmother, and yet I don't have the install CD for Windows XP Home edition... I have not however product code...

Yes, I looked everywhere on the Microsoft Web site and cannot find a CD installation for my life... It's only commercials for Windows 7 and Vista... (Which I will NOT and CAN NOT afford), as well as service packs, but not the real [i] OPERATING SYSTEM INSTALLATION [/ i] I need...

No, I don't want a pirated... version that's why I'm here in the first place... where the * I can find an edition of OS INSTALLATION CD [i] [/ i] for Windows XP Home Edition... I don't want to win. 7 OR Win. Vista... the computer is not yet able to execute even when... They both require too much CPU/ram...

The computer is currently running Ubuntu (a Linux distro.) but with how old is the computer, he can't run most programs I would like to...

[b] the only thing I need, is the DISC of INSTALLATION OS [i] [i] so I can re - install Windows on my computer... [/ b]

Now where can I get one?

    (1) Yes it's retail...
    (2) I got from my grandmother , who got it years ago... and apparently could not find the disk win...

I installed Ubuntu on it... The computer allows a parallel installation for my life, so it was a clean install... complete wipe/format and installation.

Turns out it works better with Win XP, with only being able to support Opengl 1.8... Cannot run anything effectively with ubuntu on the computer except for internet browsers...

The sticker key product or something else, says 'Windows XP Home Edition, HPQ'

    Hello rutofteaching,

Because the certificate of authenticity (CoA) has "HPQ" on that, we know that it is a HP or Compaq computer.  Please contact HP/Compaq support to see if you can order a recovery disc for the computer.  If the original motherboard is still in the computer, it is always allowed to run Windows XP Home Edition HP/Compaq.

Departure to this page by using HP/Compaq: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07143&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

If none of the recovery discs are available from HP/Compaq, please try other suppliers such as www.restoredisks.com.

In a pinch, you can borrow real Microsoft hologrammed XP Home installation disc a friend provided with licenses from Microsoft for XP Home Edition OEM/systembuilder/small manufacturer.  Installation using this CD and the product key located on CoA on your computer and NOT the product key provided with the CD. After installation, you must activate by telephone and NOT by an automatic online activation.

As others have posted, there is nowhere on the Microsoft site that you can download an ISO file or equivalent for Windows XP Edition family.  You wouldn't use a downloaded disk even if you could find one elsewhere on the internet because they are probably packed full of malware, rootkits, and who knows what else - not what you want to infest your computer with. Hello

To install windows XP on windows 7, you need to start your computer while the cd is in the drive. This will allow the system prompts you to "Press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.." and then follow the instructions accordingly.

  • How to reinstall Firefox on my drive 'F' (where he was and still exists from before my PC totally crushed) and then how do I point FF for my old profile?

Win XP (why? because I like the interface) completely crashed and had to be reinstalled. How can I get Firefox to install on one drive other than the C drive? I want FF back in the same place it was. (The files on drive F are all still in place). Also, I want to keep my old profile and Add-ons, etc.

    FredMcD said

During installation, you will be asked where you adopt the program.

If it does not find your old profile, we can fix that later.

Hi, FredMcD means probably 39.0 version, not 38.0.5.

    Thank you

  • It not install on Win7 Home - don't say no admin tho I'm only user and admin profile

Running Acer laptop Win7 Home Edition, Avira Antivirus, Windows Firewall. Mozilla's Firefox downloaded installer stub. On running it, it reads "extract" and then displays a message saying "some facilities may not work Installationavecuneracine current user" and shows two options: run with the current user and administrator (to be completed only for the administrator password).

Click the current user and the program disappears - nothing happens. There is only 1 profil_utilisateur on this system - user current, called 'a' with privileges and no password. Click on administrator insists on the password, will not accept the empty password field and disappears.

I created an ID of administrator with the password and logged, but the same two options new pop up - and the disappearance even once program is selected.

Tried with Avira and disabled Firewall. Makes no difference. Running Firefox earlier version with the active user profile and no problem. When the upgrade program itself, this problem started while I have to use IE or Chrome.

I'm typing this from my desktop system where Firefox works fine.

OK, your sub windows 7 when you downloaded the file to go to her and right up until it clicks. On this list, there is an option "Run as Administrator".
Click it and proceed with the installation.
This is what may be the problem as Windows 7 has problems with UAC.

    Thanks for your help.

He said now there is unallocated space and the top line is now black instead of blue and it wont let me give it a new name.

You must format the partition until you can give it a name.

If that fails, use snippingtool.exe to create a snapshot of the Disk Manager. Save the snapshot on your desktop, and then attach it to your response.
