Mystery of character Invisible

invisible.jpg

There is a mysterious invisible between 'Right' and 'Absorption' - there is a space followed by a colon character.

If I copy and paste it into the "search text" I get ^ I, etdansl 'find grep' I get ~ I (those are uppercase i BTW). But it does not actually find the character.

You can paste as much of as you want and they take no space.

I have a document from a client who is full of them, and I don't know what they are - any suggestions as to where they came from and how to get rid of them? I thought they might be software such as InCatalog or EasyCatalog but apparently it has not used one of these.

TIA

It is likely is an anchor point of the text by the image you provide. Take a look on my sheet of resource:

http://trainingonsite.com/images/downloads/indesign_cc_onscreen_characters_2013_09_22.PDF

But your GREP code indicates that it is an Index mark. Take a look in the Index panel. It is filled with many things?

See also my other document for research on what GREP and Metacharacter you do business with:

Hope this helps,

  • Cannot remove a folder on my desktop without name - please help!

Hi - I accidentally renamed a folder using the 'Alt + 255"character invisible.  I forgot I was renaming a real folder on my desktop and not a shortcut to a folder.  In fact, what I actually renamed it as "Alt + 255 (x 7)", i.e. of 7 invisible characters.

In any case, I want to delete the folder now.  It is empty because I moved everything out of it.  But I can not remove it- either by dragging it to the trash, or by right-clicking and then clicking 'delete', or by opening the desktop folder in Windows Explorer and remove in there.  It will not just delete, no matter how I try.

By browsing on the internet tells me I should be able to remove it by using the command line, but I can't figure out how.

Please help me because these small things really annoy me!  My system is Windows Vista Home Premium.

    Try this:

    1. click on Start > all programs > Accessories > command prompt to open a command prompt window.

    2. type cd desktop and press enter .

3 copy this command into the Windows Clipboard:

    for /d %d in (*) do rmdir /s "%d".

    4. right click on the command prompt window, click Paste and press Enter. The command will display the name of each folder on the desktop and invite you to press Y (remove the folder) or N (do not remove).  The file you're looking for may appear as an empty name.

  • Mystery character

    Here's a head scratcher:

I exported a file to RTF and found one of the paragraphs has been split into two just before the final period. Back to the source file, I found that there is an invisible character in this place. The character can be selected, is slimmer that a thin space (in fact, seems to have a width of 0) and is not any kind of text symbol. It is certainly not a marker any.

If I copy the character and paste in MS Word, I get an empty paragraph carries some FMP layout of the original-e.g., the FMP AutoNumber is presented as a bullet. Attempts to paste it into other programs (e.g., Illustrator and Notepad ++) product anything. It can be pasted into the original doc, which produced several selectable copies, but does not affect spacing at all.

Save the file as a .mif made disappear. (So at least I have a way to get rid of him.)

Does anyone have an idea as to what it could be?

FM10/structured on Win 7, if you think it makes a difference.

I'd take a peek at the RTF with a viewer or a hex editor, you can view the character by character just before the character of mystery to isolate the specific mystery code and then search for the character for the code in a hexadecimal code table.

There are a kazillion hex editors out there, for example:

    http://Frhed.sourceforge.NET/en/screenshots/ or

    http://Hexplorer.sourceforge.NET/ or

    http://www.x-ways.NET/WinHex/

Some the the editor/viewers have built-in hexagonal search tables.

As Arnis mentioned, 'junk' codes often enter FM if any content is imported or even copied to the Clipboard and pasted in, for example, the characters end lne, soft carriage returns, line breaks, etc.

For example, here's the info on the part '0A' the two '0D 0a"control character codes that creates a carriage return and line feed:

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/newline

I'd be willing to bet that your character is a mutilated accidentally stuck carriage return.

  • invisible special character in the column of table all_source-text

    Hi all

    Query:

    SELECT P.TEXT, S.TEXT, P.LINE, S.LINE, LENGTH (P.TEXT), LENGTH (S.TEXT), LENGTH (REPLACE (P.TEXT,' ', ")), LENGTH (REPLACE (S.TEXT,' ',"))

    All_source p, all_source@LINK_TST. S WORLD

    WHERE p.TYPE = 'FUNCTION '.

    AND p.owner = 'ASAP '.

    AND P.OWNER = S.OWNER AND P.TYPE = S.TYPE AND P.LINE = S.LINE AND

    P.NAME = S.NAME AND

    AND LENGTH (TRIM (P.TEXT)) <>LENGTH (TRIM (S.TEXT));

    Clarification:

This query returns the line offset accordingly.

1 line of a function is driven on the request, seeing that the two text values are similar.

1 TRIM feature works TRIM (text) <>TRIM (text)

    2.length (Trim (P.Text)) <>LENGTH (TRIM (S.TEXT));

    3. used function REPLACE not working LENGTH (replace (P.TEXT, ' ')) <>LENGTH (replace (S.TEXT,' '));

I checked that a function a invisible extra character in the column of text which the query should return an incorrect value.

How to exclude the invisible character in the query?

    Thank you

    Fabrice

    DW CS5

Invisible in the sense I can't find in DW to remove it.

If you look at this site:
    http://www.californiayoga.com/schedule-pa.php
You will notice a "<" just under the online registry.  This does not show code view and even if you try to view the Source. It's around line 35, if you look at the code.

I found it using the fireboat in FireFox. What is there is "& lt;" surrounded by a frame. I don't know where it comes from, but I have to get rid of it.

I think that all I can do is to try to remove empty space. But, I would like to hear comments about why I can't see it, or delete it, life in DW Code.

    Thank you

    See you soon!  Phil

In addition, 87-96 in your HTML code lines have a long break - this combined with your character encoding can cause this problem, because I don't see anything else disrupt your HTML structure, and I don't see another reason to < appear.

Remove the extra line breaks and apply source formatting to the 87-96 lines, because it is < makes his appearance. See if it suits it.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --

This is the solution.  She was invisible in this empty space.  It took Fireboat to find.  Why is - not appear in Dreamweaver is my question.

    Thanks again.

    Peace and long live!  Phil

  • How to manage an invisible character in a string?

    Hello
    I have an interesting situation-

    Select bac_person_id, (bac_person_id) length of bkmap_personid_stg, where BAC_PERSON_ID like '% 27136317% '.

    The result is-

    BAC_PERSON_ID | LENGTH (BAC_PERSON_ID)
    27136317 |     9

I don't know what the invisible character here?

It is certainly not a space character as pad does not work-

    Select * from bkmap_personid_stg where trim (BAC_PERSON_ID) = '27136317'

    no record!

But substr does not give me the resullt-

    Select * from bkmap_personid_stg where substr (BAC_PERSON_ID, 1, 8) = '27136317'

How will I know which is the last character? and how to manage it?

to get the details of your data use dump()
    as

    Select double dump('27136317');

    DUMP('27136317')
    -------------------------------------
    Typ = 96 Len = 8: 50,55,49,51,54,51,49,55

    in your case
    use

    Select dump (bac_person_id) in the bkmap_personid_stg where BAC_PERSON_ID like '% 27136317% '.

  • Invisible ESSId with a special character - Satellite M40

    Hello

    I have a Satellite M40 with a card atheros AR5005g wireless.
I have a wireless network with WPA2-PSK encryption. The ssid looks like this: g4s8j6b-extraordinary character-o7v35s7gt3q1c6b8
With the latest version of the driver, it is impossible to see one ssid to connect to this network.
I tried a USB of Atlantis wireless adapter and it can find the wirelessnetwork (I can not connect because the USB adapter is not supported WPA2-PSK)

For me it is the problem of driving. How can I solve this problem? This 'special character' is not recognizing drivers isn't? is it possible to convert the ssid in the HEX code and insert the ssid in hexadecimal and hexadecimal key in a data to force the connection? (manual connection like Linux)

    your faithfully

Oh this forum does not support the character... it looks like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%9F
    (Unicode U + 00DF)

That the SSID is very long. Have you tried to use a shorter SSID?

  • Disappeared mysteriously character encoding

    Hi once again, guys.

OK, so that's the thing like that. I have Windows Vista SP2 and Internet Explorer 8. Recently, I have noticed that Japanese websites that use encodings of Japanese characters, such as Japanese (EUC), Japanese (JIS) and Japanese (Shift_JIS), display the text garbled instead of Japanese characters. I assumed that that was caused by the Unicode value encodings, so I went to the encoding menu to change to all the character encodings mentioned previously and he found none of the Japanese character encodings were present, because they have disappeared.

After my first surprise, I noticed that other encodings of characters Asian Oriental were still present (Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese, etc) and as perplexed as I was, decided to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 to see if the problem was independent of the browser. Found the same result after an uninstall successful (using Internet Explorer 7) and even after clean reinstall Internet Explorer 8.

Knowing that Windows Vista has supported language of Eastern Europe and Asia already integrated, that I found no way to repair or reinstall to see if the problem could be solved in this way. My father has a laptop with Windows Vista SP2 and Internet Explorer 8, and he has no problem at all. My mother has a laptop with Windows XP SP3 and Internet Explorer 7, once again without a problem. I have a laptop with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8, always without problems. This means that what has caused the problem came from my own desktop computer.

Oh, almost forgot, list of the things that is present on this computer:

    • Windows Vista with Service Pack 2
    • Internet Explorer 8 (also tried with Internet Explorer 7)
    • Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 (it was the culprit of all that many times, so why not add it?)

I need these Japanese encodings, because I used to navigate the Japanese sites to keep my Japanese reading skills still work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Lorien, for suggesting me to get help in the Internet Explorer Forum.

Trying not repost and be brief, the registry has lost value that pointed to the specified code page. Just added and works very well. The inspiration camefrom here.

    Thanks again.

In my status bar, there is an invisible icon that I want to delete. If I click on the icon ' ' there is no menu, and I can't understand what program the thing could come.

I took a screenshot when I click the icon:

Does anyone has an idea how can I remove this "icon"?

I am now on macOS Sierra, but it was there before I upgraded too.

I can't send this message on the forum of the French comm...

    Hi all

I (still) have a problem and I need a little help please.

Plug-in a Heidenhain ND287 counter and having not found driver to use it, I have to create my own functions. One that allows to ask the measured value pose worries...

    USB communication.

I send correctly the order and receives good response. However, this last has 'characters' escape (visible as a square from a string indicator) that I can't manage. Indeed, there may be 2 or 3 before the numeric value, and I need to isolate this last pour is able to be read (if I read 0).

I tried various methods but without success...

    Has anyone an idea?

    Hello

Thanks for the screenshot. Are you sure that the returned carractère is "ESC" with code 1 b? Maybe look at the hex code of the returned string and vevifiez that the first character has the code 1 b

Pour do this, use the range of problems of function 'chain in byte array' functions: Programming::Numeric:Conversion and the 'number of hexadecimal string' function the functions palette: programming:tring:tring/number Conversion

The actually if "character mystery has not pay code hexadecimal 0x1B, it is normal that it is not filtered."

  • It appears as a mysterious disc on my computer labeled as 'System Reserved'.

    Original title: mysterious disc

It appears as a mysterious disc on my computer labeled as 'System Reserved'. It shows some space occupy and some for free, but on opening it shows that the folder is empty. Allowing even show hidden files will not help.

    Hi Ashwin,

You can hide it by removing the drive letter assigned to it.

Open disk management (press Win + R on the keyboard and type diskmgmt.msc in Run dialog box. Press ENTER.), right click on the partition and select change drive letter and paths. Click Remove.

The partition must now be invisible from the file Explorer. Do not respond if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

  • Invisible text CC 2015.2

    Hello guys,.

I worked on a project and today when I wanted to continue and a new layer of text, the text shows. If I make a new layout, the text will not always be displayed. It is not under what anyone, is not fixed on the black, without opacity of 0%. I have zero character and paragraph still does not show. The AE version is 13.7.0.124. It got re-installed btw. I can see the limitations of text, as in the red squares on the corners, but can not see the text. It occupies a new invisible setting?

    Much appreciated!

If AE is up-to-date (and your title, it is not) and you created text layers before you try this:

First, replace the character Panel by clicking on the three lines for the character at the top of the character panel Panel options.

2nd, Shift + Alt/Option + Cmnt Ctrl + t to create a new text layer with the text tool

    Thirdly, type something.

If you do not see the text enable the transparency grid. If you do not see the AE text close and restart. If you still do not see the text, restart and try again. If you still do not see the text

    InDesign Issue.jpg

    Hello Kristen,

the good news is: nothing is locked on your progress.
You should see a lock in the second column next to the symbol of the eye.

If the empty text block could be identified by clicking on the "eye" icon in the layers panel to make it invisible/visible.
Or you can click on the small "bullet" on the right icon to select it directly on the page.

I see you have three blocks of text with generic to choose names.

    Kind regards
    Uwe

  • Text box becomes invisible while working on editing the text

I have two problems, both revolve around not displaying items do not.

The first is that, as I am working on editing text in a text box or copy will suddenly become invisible, it's still there but I won't be able to see it until I have change how I am posting (either zoomed or rear).

    Screen Shot 2016-02-08 at 4.23.33 PM.png

The second problem will occur if you also edit text. If I select a block of copy and then select the character formatting of the control, the preview of the fonts window will not appear often.Screen Shot 2016-02-08 at 4.31.28 PM.png

There is no known alternative. People are still reported this problem and nothing has no it will change on the side of the things Adobe. Complain to Apple about their lack of backward compatibility.

Bottom line: you can't pass operating system in a vacuum.
