NAS connection

Guys, I need help and assistance.

Two or three days ago, I moved my old photos of my Synology NAS, I did it by dragging files in LR from my iMac to the folder of photo on my NAS. The reason for this was to clean up disk space on my iMac. Everything worked perfectly, all records and old photos have been moved and I could see them in my LR catalog. This morning I started my NAS and iMac, wanted to work a these old photos, but now, I cannot see the NAS and the folders in my folder structure in LR. I'm looking for a way to "reconnect" my SIN for LR, I am able to connect to the NAS via the Finder and I can see all the photos.

I saw the link: Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing , but it seems that it can be used only when you will see the external (although not active) location. And Yes, I read that by dragging files in LR is not the best advice, lesson learned.

Can someone help me out here please?

All the files that have been moved to the NAS drive must be reported as missing. All you have to do is right click on this folder and update the location of the folder. If all the missing files are under a parent folder, the location of the parent folder update should solve all other subfolders.

  • NAS connection problem

I have a strange problem with a NAS box.

I got the box that is mapped to a drive K:, player reconnected to the start-up of the pc. Recently it stopped connecting, so I removed the map and tried again, nothing...

If I type in the file \\NAS-box-nameManager, I used to be able to (after login) to see all records in the NAS box, now I can't. However, I can access the NAS by entering the path of eating its local ip file, for example 192.168.20.40, it's weird.

Why I can key in the INVESTIGATION period to get the drive but not to see the name of the reader when browsing to try to map it (I used to be able to see the name before) nothing seems to have changed, famous last words.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I've been able to test it?

I ping the ip through cmd so the ip is ok.

    Thank you.

Why I can key in the INVESTIGATION period to get the drive but not to see the name of the reader when browsing to try to map it (I used to be able to see the name before) nothing seems to have changed, famous last words.

This occurs when Windows is unable to resolve the name to an IP address. I bet that the command

\\NAS-box-name ping does not work either. You should check the settings of the NAS box. If it is impossible to solve the problem, you could do a specific entry in your Hosts file.

I can connect to the NAS during init/config (the first minutes before a long beep) but after the bee long SIN disappears from the network. The QNAP Finder can't find the SIN and I cannot ping the NAS server.

What can be the reason causing this loss of connection into the router?

The NAS works when I use a wireless older router SITECOM 54 g router.

Do I need a special in the router config please NAS Qnap TS-212?

you get a light for the ethernet port you have the NAS connected to? the ethernet connection can be registered not that could be the reason why the SIN is not detectable.

you have the NAS set to an ip address static or is it to dhcp? If the dhcp, check the table of the router DHCP clients to verify if the NAS is networked and assign an IP address. you have reset your NAS? You may need to do. also, on the side of the router firmware may need to be updated to fix bugs that the current version could have. Go to the Page of Support E4200 to the latest vesion. You can also check for the latest firmware for your SIN.

  • Problem connecting to the server after moving

Hi, I keep getting the message "there is a problem connecting to the server"192.168.0.19"etc. This happened after I moved. New ISP, new router. • Central Seagate NAS - "Invisible" Time Machine backup

Running OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), have a central Seagate NAS connected to the same network.

Struggling to locate/mount the Time Machine "partition" of the NAS using the Finder, even if the NAS works more or less perfect otherwise. For example, I have no problem to mount the NAS in the Finder and have accessibility without restrictions and read/write permissions to files on the NAS and visible files. I have also run the Time Machine backups with no problems, however, I can't physically locate the backup Time Machine (sparsebundle file) when you use the Finder. During the mounting of the SIN in the Finder (= "user1" user / password = *), I have 3 folders available and visible (with subfolders), "user 1", "Public" and "user 2". Unable to locate the backup in the any of these files.

Then, when I run the terminal and run ' ssh ' user1@ipadressofNAS, then ´cd /', then 'data ls', I find several items, including the "Public" folder I mentioned, I do not see in the Finder above, and also a component called "user1.tm". Later in the user1.tm, runs "ls Data / user1.tm ', I find"mymac.sparsebundle"- that is.

Then of course, the dedicated part time Machine is the NAS Server (I just pointed out Time Machine backup to the NAS Seagate available without being able to specify the directory), but I can not located this part physically using Finder. Just for reference, I also tried to find backups to the display of hidden files and directories using the Finder.

Is it possible to physically see the backup Time Machine 'partition' in the Finder? I think that this was possible according to the default in some earlier versions of the operating system, but then the time Machine 'disc' disappeared as well as the evolution of the OS.

A device third-party network attached storage (NAS) or a router is unsuitable for use with Time Machine, especially if it's your only backup. I know that's not what you want to hear. I know that Time Machine accepts the device as a backup destination. I know that the manufacturer says the device will work with Time Machine, and I also know that it usually seems to work. Except when you are trying to restore and find that you can't.

Apple has published a specification for network devices that works with Time Machine. No third party provider, AFAIK, does meet this specification. They all use the application of Netatalk incomplete, obsolete Apple Filing Protocol.

Apple does not endorse any device third-party network for use with Time Machine. See this support article.

Network backup, use as destination an Apple Time Capsule or an external storage device connected to another Mac or a 802.11ac AirPort base station. Only 802.11ac base stations support time Machine, not older model.

Otherwise, use Time Machine at all. There are other ways to save, although none of them are nowhere near as effective or as well integrated with OS X. I don't have a specific recommendation.

If you are determined to continue to use the device with Time Machine, your only remedy for any resulting problem is the manufacturer (who will blame Apple, neither you nor anyone else but herself.)

  • Connect 2 HP laptop wireless

I have 2 laptop computers HP. Works with windows 7 64-bit and the other runs with windows 8.1 64. Two of them are connect to the same router.

I would like to connect my wireless laptop. I wish I had access to my two laptops from one of my laptops files. Or I want to share a file or music or video in a place that both my laptop can use it.

    How can I do?

    Thank you

Sorry, but you have to learn how to create a basic network. Homegroup to work between Windows 8 and Windows 7 PCs. An alternative is to buy a NAS, connect it to your router homw and use it to share files between multiple PCs connected to the router.

You asked about an advanced PC topic.  Creating a homegroup is the easiest way to do it.

  • Problems connecting WAG54G2

This morning I found that I was unable to connect to the internet using my unit. As I have a NAS connected to what I can connect to who prevailed on the problems on my home network. I checked the State and found that everything was ok as were actually the light on the bridge.

I decided to reset to factory settings and return my basic settings for my ISP. Once more, Lela acknowledged everything was ok, the catwalk was all green LEDs, but I still couldn't connect to the internet. OK I will try the reset button on the back, just in case where he does something a bit different - same result.

In desperation I configured wireless and security settings and I tried my mobile phone - it worked. I searched a former and got wireless usb adapter your computer online with it but I still can't get online using a wired connection.

My basic connections and wireless connections are ok.

    My other settings are:-

Security, I SPI Firewall Protection enabled and blocking internet applications active as anon.

    Access restrictions are disabled.

Nothing in the Applications and play area.

Essentially by default anywhere else. I can ping outside computers from diagnstics section.

Someone at - it ideas on how to get my wired connection work. I tried to set restrictions for all my home ip range, but it made no difference so I deleted it again. What is happening with my two computers (1 vista, 1 XP) but the two machines were not on at the same time for a long time. That's my nut!

Found the problem. I had disabled the DHCP and set my own static IP addresses. Although the router let me see everything inside my network it did not allow for internet access. When I reset DHCP value on. He did not like my static IP even if she was in the valid range because she had not given them. However with my Wi - Fi phone and there is no predefined parameters of intellectual property so that they worked.

Curious it still let me see around network but wouldn't let me through the gateway out.

  • 3 external IP addresses, a WRT610N, 2 PC and NAS

Can it be done with what I have? Here's my situation:

I have a modem (optical fiber) which comes with 3 LAN on s, each with a designated fixed global IP (x.x.x.26 - 28). I've been using one of these (. 26) with my WRT610N (Internet port) to connect my laptop etc. Pretty easy. Now, I recently got a NAS Synology DS107 +. Of course, if I connect it to one of the ports LAN WRT610N it gets an address 192.168.1.x as my other devices and is accessible from the outside world through x.x.x.26. But, is it possible for me to give him one of the other global unused IP (IE, x.x.x.27)? Could I connect a second modem LAN on the of directly for the WRT610N (LAN) and route somehow all that reached x.x.x.27 to the NAS, while everything that reaches x.x.x.26 is managed by the router/NAT

Or do I need extra gadget for this. (I can not connect the modem directly on the NAS since the modem does not support gigabit LAN)

You can connect the modem and the WRT610N using a wire, not two.

When you say you have three addresses 'fixed' world property intellectual, I assume you mean you have three Internet addresses.  Is this correct?

If Yes, then you have two solutions for your problem:

    (1) addition of a gigabit, such as the SD2005 or SD2008 switch between your modem and the rest of your network.  Then you should be able to access each 3 fixed Internet addresses by plugging your device in the switch.  However, you cannot connect your NAS in the switch, especially if your NAS has limited ability to protect themselves against pirates.  In addition, you might prefer to keep your NAS attached to your LAN WRT610N.  If so, try solution 2.

    (2) 2 solution is to leave your NAS connected to LAN WRT610N, but access on the Internet through a port.  Most NAS devices are accessible on the Internet by giving your NAS a LAN IP fixed address and then forward a port to address fixed.

  • Advice on appropriate hosts of ESXi and NAS network configuration

I am looking for tips or best practices on the implementation of my ESXi 4.0 hosts with my NAS... Here is some basic information:

-Certified VMware AberNAS with matrix RAID 5 SAS (2 x Gig NIC) drives

-2 x HP Proliant welcomes each with 6-8 Gig NIC

Currently, NAS NIC are associated to balance the load connected to two different switches.  HP hosts are also associated to balance the load connected to 2 different switches.

Here is a glance at the basic configuration in vcenter:

    vmnetwork.JPG

Because I have a lot of NETWORK interface card on the server (4 used... but 8 in total), I would like to configure this to improve performance.  So my questions:

1 can I create a new vswitch sin and dedicate the traffic between the hosts and NAS?  How?  Place them on a physical switch dedicated between the hosts, NAS and LAN?

    2. create a dedicated NIC for VM vmotion of hosts?

    3. any other configuration benefiting NFS and VMware?

Am open to any idea. Thank you

-There are currently of 2 guests (am licensed for 3 and can install later). In addition, I have 2 physical switches gigabit dedicated to SAR/VM host nic and are resources shared LAN... so when the facility management/vmotion Teddy bear design, do I imitate the same configuration on the two hosts?  Do stay even these teddy bears, connected to one of the switches of concert?

Yes you would duplicate the installation on both hosts-

-With a device SIN the NIC on the NAS is associated with unique IP address and is dedicated to the virtual machine infrastructure.  Then I'd have 2 bears from each host AND the 2 bears from the NAS connected to the dedicated physical switch isoltaed and ip static'd just like different subnet?

Yes - as I said with a single IP address on a NAS for the natachasery on the hosts would be in a configuration of active / standby - it is more about the fact that ESXi does not really load balancing between the two network cards but selects a teddy bear based on the source and destination IP addresses - so if any of these changes the traffic's not on a unique Teddy

  • Linksys - router bridge - E8350 path not found network

    Dear community of Linksys,

I recently bought a Linksys E8350 router, to replace the old AP in my network domestic.

To make the installer of my clear network, I did a little diagram:

So, as you can see, at the top left is the router/modem provided by my internet provider (Telenet, Belgium).

I have a wired connection in my room, where I have my desktop and NAS connected computer. I also plugged the

Linksys E8350 that is configured in Bridge mode. My laptop is connected wireless to the E8350.

On the E8350, I disabled DHCP and NAT and gave him a static IP outside the range of my other router.

    My problem:

When I go to the network through windows file Explorer, I can see my desktop from my laptop and vice versa.

But when I double click to access one of them, I get the error message "network path not found".

Connection via start > \\Computer-name gives the same error.

Since my laptop or my desktop, I can see my NAS on the network. I have internet on all my devices:

My office through internet cable connection, my laptop has wireless internet connection trough

and I can evaluate my NAS from the internet.

When I remove the E8350 entirely from my network and connect my laptop a hollow wired connection.

everything works fine. I can see all the devices on the network, connect to my NAS and share files between computers.

    Things I tried already:

-My PC and laptop are both in a 'private network '.

    -J' disabled my firewall

-Everything is activated in the menu "sharing advanced settings."

-J' tried to connect the E8350 to the switch via the Ethernet or WLAN port, nor to solve the problem

-J' tried to change the NETBIOS settings

-I don't have your antivirus software that might interfere with something

-J' updated the firmware on my linksys router to the latest version

To be clear, the problem occurs when I put the E8350 in my network, otherwise everything works perfectly.

I hope that I have provided some information decent on my problem, because I can't seem to figure it out myself.

    Thank you in advance.

    Pindox

The topology of your network is effective from your diagram. With the E8350 in mode bridge in this topology is WAN is connected to the network switch.

Many devices of bridge no hand NetBios address very well. In some cases, the best way to access the network through a bridge device resources is to use remote devices IP address instead of its computer\device network name.

In Windows, you can drive old school card NAS records using the IP address of the Servers\NAS:

    PC command line:

    NET use s: \\192.168.0.3\my_nas_folder / persistent: Yes

  • What do you guys use of speed controls

    Hi all

I have swpped my D - Link DIR-855 for a Linksys EA6500 and you want to check the overall speed.

I use in my network devices as well as WiFi. I guess that speed controls should show the difference between wired devices, the devices connected to the Wifi or WiFi on a device of current line. www.Speedtest.NET does not seem to show this difference.

What do you use to show the difference between LAN to the internet or LAN to NAS connection speeds?
