NAT - first usable IP address

Hi I have a VM workstation with 192.168.10.1 IP address.

I put the network on VMnet8 (NAT) as follows:

Network =... address: 192.168.10.0
Sunbetmask
Broadcast address =...: 192.168.10.255
First =... usable IP address: 192.168.10.1
Last usable IP =... address: 192.168.10.254

I get the error message there is an IP address that is duplicated on the network. I guess that NAt assigns the first address can be used for the
Host according to the following instructions:

http://www.VMware.com/support/WS5/doc/ws_net_advanced_ipaddress.html

Is it possible to assign the first usable Ip address to VMworkstation and assign a different IP address for the HOST.

Thanks for your help.

There are actually 2 reserved addresses by default, XXX1 for the host adapter for NAT virtual and x.x.x.2 for the gateway/DNS server address. You can go to http://sanbarrow.com/network/commandlineguide2vnets.html to see if that helps.

Thank you, and since you are just 1 IP 1.1.1.11 Polo, the traffic can only be initiated from your site to the remote end.

Here is the configuration of NAT:

    access list nat - vpn ip 192.168.1.0 allow 255.255.255.0 10.0.0.0 255.255.0.0

NAT (inside) 5 access list nat - vpn

    Overall 5 1.1.1.11 (outside)

In addition, the ACL crypto for the tunnel from site to site should be as follows:

    access-list allow 1.1.1.11 ip host 10.0.0.0 255.255.0.0

  • 515E ftp

It's my first installation of production of a PIX, and the prossibility is that I did not have a right to component, but I'm going nuts trying to figure out what it could be.

I have a PIX 515e. There is a FTP server on the DMZ port. People on the main network, can hit the internet, the FTP server may hit the internet, but nobody can do any FTP - ing in the FTP server from the internet. If I change the IP address of the FTP server to the main network and put it in the main switch, I can do FTP - ing on the server, as well as - at least - seems to be OK. I also checked to ensure that the IP block, I got from my ISP is on the same subnet. The original I had were not.

The PIX is attached to a DSL modem on the interface of the outside, inside is attached to a switch, and the demilitarized zone is directly attached to the server (it is not a cable problem, by the way).

The first usable IP address, I is assigned to the external interface, the following in the order is mapped on the FTP server. I set up a static mapping:

    static (dmz, external) netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

I've also set up access lists:

outside_access_in list access permit tcp any host eq eq ftp ftp

outside_access_in tcp allowed access list all eq eq the host ftp - data

    and applied:

    Access-group outside_access_in in interface outside

    But it is not interesting.

I also tried to operate using pipes, but that did not help.

Anyone with ideas and Excedrin would certainly be appreciated.

    Change your LCD as follows:

outside_access_in list access permit tcp any host eq ftp

outside_access_in list access permit tcp any host eq ftp - data

That is to say, remove the first "eq ftp [-data]" command. Because he says that the SOURCE of any connection port must be 20 or 21, that won't be the case. When an outsider tries to initialize an FTP connection, the DESTINATION port will be 20/21, but the source port will be random. The ' eq ftp [-data] "at the end of the line specifies the DESTINATION port, so it's OK and what you want.

  • How to get a reservation in DHCP address when using NAT networking?

I am looking for a solution on how to make a reservation in DHCP for a VM for Linux Mint13 when using NAT networking.

It would make life so much easier if I could be sure that this machine has a fixed IP address, I might add in the host to host files and thus get name resolution working for her.

I use the virtual linux machine mainly to test a Web site before going live and I used the bridged network and listed my DLINK router DHCP reservation.

But it won't work if I move the laptop Win7 to another place, so I really need NAT and a fixed address.

I found this discussion, which deals with the same issue so I followed the solution and this added to the end of vmnetdhcp.conf:

    host agiwebdev {}

    Hardware ethernet 00: 0C: 29:72:09:58;

    fixed-address 192.168.80.10;

    }

(with comments, stop and WorkStation7 closed altogether).

But the result after starting it all this is still once the client always reports its address as 192.168.80.157, which is the old address it before my edit.

    What have I done wrong?

The guest of LinuxMint13 was created and is running in VMWare Workstation on a host Win7ProX64 7.1.6

    I'm really stupid...

It turns out that the answer was in the discussion I linked to:

Restart the service of Windows 7 VMWare DHCP service with disconnected guest network card, then plug it in and the new address is here!

    Simple as that!

So in fact already was answering the question I asked.

  • As a router WRT54GS cascading with IP fixed address block

    Hello

I read several threads on the routers in cascade and the Knowledge Base, but none seems to fix my script with a router with fixed IP address block.

My current setup is an ADSL circuit with a block of 8 fixed IP addresses. Of them the first xx.xx.xx.137 is assigned to interface the router, the second xx.xx.xx.138 for the router itself WAN xx.xx.xx.139/140/141/142/143 leaving as usable IP addresses. Connected to the ADSL circuit is that a D-Link DSL-G604T router with NAT disabled to allow IP addresses to be assigned to my web servers and ftp. Of course, DHCP is disabled on the LAN interface.

Unfortunately, the transmitter wireless on this router is defective so I would my Linksys WRT54GS (Firmware v1.50.6) D-Link router cascade so that I can use it (with active DHCP) as a point of access for multiple wireless devices.

This thought through to logically I've named WAN 54GS with one of the xx.xx.xx.140 to static IP address available, a subnet mask 255.255.255.248 and the door entry xx.xx.xx.138. I left the LAN settings like the beach 192.168.1.xxx and DHCP active. I then connected the interface WAN of the 54GS to one of the LAN connections on the D-Link with a straight ethernet cable.

I can connect to the admin 54GS via a direct ethernet connection and wireless interface but not to the internet.

I can ping that is the xx.xx.xx.140 of the interface wan of the 54GS since a laptop computer connected wireless but not the IP address of the gateway of the network xx.xx.xx.138. D-Link router.

Am I missing some other settings in the router. Especially in the routing section advanced? I guess that the device must be set to a router rather than the bridge, but if there are parameters of dynamic routing?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks Brickmonkey,

Just thought I would update this post. I tried from you suggestions, but to no avail. The frustration I did a hard reset of the router D-Link and set it up again from scratch and... Hey presto it now works.

I can only think that there may have been some settings left from when the router has been initially implemented for Nat and I had configured port forwarding. In any case it now works OK then thank you very much for your answer.

  • Configure NAT for object-group 8.3

I'm working on a project to simplify our routing by NAT'ing the IP address of our clients VPN S2S.  Currently, the we have a bunch of roads pointing to different destinations that are created by the VPN S2S.  I wish that NAT all these destinations in a single subnet IP address, but a question about the configuration.

As you can see, we are not currently NAT'ing anything:

    ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************

NAT (inside, outside) static source OUR_HOSTS OUR_HOSTS THEIR_HOSTS THEIR_HOSTS non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination

    the OUR_HOSTS object-group network

    network-object VIP1

    network-object VIP2

    the VIP1 object network

    Home 10.200.125.32

    the VIP2 object network

    Home 10.200.120.32

    the THEIR_HOSTS object-group network

    host of the object-Network 192.168.15.100

    host of the object-Network 192.168.15.130

    host of the object-Network 192.168.15.15

    ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************

What I would do is NAT THEIR_HOSTS to a 10.200.192.x/24 address.  I have NAT can do those at one address and Surchargez the NAT or must it be an address for each of these 3 hosts?  I'm very well be it.  According to which would be easier to do, please point me in the right direction.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Else seems fine, but the ' object-group ' after the 'static destination' are the wrong way.

First of all must be the ' object-group ' that contains the NAT IP address and the second the ' object-group ' holding real / IP address of the destination host.

  • NAT and VPN site-2-Site

    Hello world.

I have question about Site 2 Site VPN and NAT.

HQ is connected to the partner and the co-location through site to site VPN (with two different tunnels). Co-location is connected to the HQ with the site 2 site VPN.

    HQ:
    Co-location:
    Partner:

Basically, what I want to achieve is to do the following:

All traffic from the combination with destination partner should switch from AC and source what IP must be changed. So it seems that the traffic originated in the DMZ HQ on the side of the partner.

    How can I achieve that?

    HW: Cisco ASA

    Hello Roger,.

The configuration you need will be on the ASA HQ.

First configure the ASA so that it would allow the traffic to leave through the same interface it came through:

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

Then, you create a nat that an IP address of this beach (it will work if the partner does not need to go to the apartment, just camp to the partner):

    policy-based-nat1 permit ip access list

NAT () to access list policy-based-nat1

    (Global)

That is asuming that you already have a rule of traffic interesting (crypto ACL map) allowed your DMZ for flatsharing.

For a more specific example, see below:

    Colocation network: 192.168.1.0/24

    Network DMZ HQ: 10.10.10.0/24

    Network partner: 172.16.10.0/24

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

    access list policy-based-nat1 permit ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.0 255.255.255.0

NAT (outdoor) 100 access list policy-based-nat1

    global (outside) 100 10.10.10.253

    vpn10 10.10.10.0 ip access list allow 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.0 255.255.255.0

10 correspondence address vpn vpn crypto card

If the partner needs to access the apartment so (two-way access) you may not use the DMZ network as there must be a translation from one to the other and you have the same amount of addresses to be translated you have on the apartment.

However, it would be possible if your DMZ network is greater than the apartment (like DMZ being a 16 and colo in 24) and you can isolate a subnet just for NAT.

Hope this helps to solve the problem.

  • NAT WITH FLEXVPN

    Hello

Please can someone tell me how NAT with flexvpn?

I have a HUB to spoke and spoke to talk configuration with virtual-templates.

When I configure NAT and do a traceroute to google the first hop ip address is the HUB router.

but it must go directly to the internet.

    Thanks in advance,

    Topcu, M

Take a look at the difference between the defined itinerary and accept the traffic.

You're forcing the default routes... bad idea unless controlled :-)

Start by removing the "any" declaration of access lists using road together.

  • Tunnel work Split... but only for a single IP address.

    Hi all

Dealing with a really frustrating problem. Our facility, roughly speaking, is as follows:

-We have a remote VPN access that users connect to any Connect; in turn, they receive a local LAN address: 10.1.11.192 - 10.1.11.200

-We have a VPN site-to site that connects to Amazon AWS Access 10.0.249.0 and other subnets and now some hosts on the Amazon * public * network (for example, 54.1.2.3). This is done via a tunnel from split.

What we see is the following:

-Users to connect to the VPN and are assigned to one of the addresses above. We use 10.1.11.192 for this example.

-They can then access anything in the 10.0.249.0 subnet (by the split tunnel) very well. It goes through two ASA devices.

-They can then access anything in the public network from Amazon (by the split tunnel) very well. This should use Remoting ASA.

So, it seemed that everything was working. When connected to the VPN, Amazon hosts in 10.x.x.x networks and public IPs I had precisely in tunnel (we plan make the transition to a VPC soon) were accessible, and access came through the VPN IP remote access (IE, when connecting to 54.1.2.3, it showed the user being logged from the address of the gateway from the Cisco IP (, as opposed to the local client IP).

Now, here's where things are weird: * public * hosts on Amazon in tunnel only works with the first address in the pool, 10.1.11.192. No other addresses don't work. 10.0.249.x is always available, regardless of the assigned IP. 54.x.y.z is only available avec.192.

I used the same computer with different assigned IPs (10.1.11.193 - 10.1.11.200), and none work. I connected using different computers... they work si.192, but not no matter what other addresses assigned. Other users report the same problem.

Transfer TCP protocol is a failure

I'll use our IRC server (and sometimes ssh server) for testing. I can see my laptop the customer with a SYN_SENT on this specific topic. I can see the IRC with a SYN_RECV and shows Server ASA a SYN timeout after 30 seconds. So, it seems that the IRC server packages cannot make their way through the ASA for my laptop the customer.

I suspect it has something to do with the dynamic static vs NAT, etc, but I've fiddled with every setting I can and come in white.

I am also puzzled as to pourquoi.192 works, but no other addresses don't.

I have attached our configuration, less keys and passwords and addresses IP/hostname. It's a little ugly because there some poor attempts to solve this, things will probably remove once it works, but... It might have something to do with randomization of TCP sequence?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

I also enough to explain everything in detail. Even if sometimes it is just too much for my head when I'm tired

Have you managed to fix the problem that arised to change settings?

The output of "package Tracker" for the failed connection would be important.

But now that I look at your original configurations and consider your need for VPN Clients to access a selection of public IP addresses through the ASA it seems to me that perhaps your problem is lack of NAT configuration for this traffic. (which may indicate the "packet-tracer" )

You need a dynamic PAT from the 'outside' to 'outside' for users VPN be PATed to the external IP address of ASA

    Something like this for example

    network of the VPN-CLIENT-AMAZON-AWS-PAT object

    10.1.12.0 subnet 255.255.255.0

    dynamic NAT interface (outdoors, outdoor)

Or if your original pool of VPN is used, change the network above.

Dynamic provisioning PAT above essentially aims to intercept coming from behind 'external' VPN traffic that goes through the 'outside' interface and the dynamic application of PAT for the public IP address of the ASA. For the moment, that seems to me that address network-10 crosses the ASA without NAT essentially leading to SYN timeout newspapers.

But if I understand you are saying that one of the pool reached VPN address IP address of public destination that does not really correspond with the situation described above. However, I don't see any NAT/PAT configuration for VPN traffic to the public IP address. Look at your log messages. They mention the same IP VPN address pool twice (the other inside the () ) which means there is no NAT for the source address and the ISP traffic naturally declines.

  • Site to Site VPN of IOS - impossible route after VPN + NAT

    Hello

I have problems with a VPN on 2 routers access 8xx: I am trying to set up a quick and dirty VPN Site to Site with a source NAT VPN tunnel endpoint. This configuration is only intended to run from one day only inter. I managed to do the work of VPN and I traced the translations of NAT VPN tunnel endpoint, but I couldn't make these translated packages which must move outside the access router, because intended to be VPN traffic network is not directly connected to leave the router. However, I can ping the hosts directly connected to the router for access through the VPN.

Something done routing not to work, I don't think the NATing, because I tried to remove the NAT and I couldn't follow all outgoing packets that must be sent, so I suspect this feature is not included in the IOS of the range of routers Cisco 8xx.

I'm that extends the features VPN + NAT + routing too, or is there a configuration error in my setup?

This is the configuration on the router from Cisco 8xx (I provided only the VPN endpoint, as the works of VPN endpoint)

    Hi Jürgen,

First of all, when I went through your config, I saw these lines,

    !

    interface Vlan2

    IP 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.248

    !

    !

    IP route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.254

    !

With 255.255.255.248 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.254 subnet will fall to different subnets. So I don't think you can join 192.168.2.0/24 subnet to the local router at this point. I think you should fix that first.

Maybe have 192.168.1.2 255.255.255. 248 on the router connected (instead of 192.168.1.254)

Once this has been done. We will have to look at routing.

    You are 172.31.0.2-> 192.168.1.11 natting

Now, in order for that to work, make sure that a source addresses (192.168.1.11) NAT is outside the subnet router to router connected (if you go with 192.168.1.0/29 subnet router to router, with 192.168.1.1/29 on the local router and 192.168.1.2/29 on the connected router as suggested, it will be fine). So in this case 192.168.1.8/29 to the subnet that your NAT would be sources fall.

Have a static route on the router connected (192.168.1.2) for the network 192.168.1.8/29 pointing 192.168.1.1,

    !

    IP route 192.168.1.8 255.255.255.248 192.168.1.1

    !

If return packets will be correctly routed toward our local router.

If you have an interface on the connected rotuer which includes the NAT would be source address range, let's say 192.168.1.254/24, even if you do your packages reach somehow 192.168.2.0/24, the package return never goes to the local router (192.168.1.1) because the connected router sees it as a connected subnet, so it will only expire

I hope I understood your scenario. Pleae make changes and let me know how you went with it.

Also, please don't forget to rate this post so useful.

  • Cannot delete the incorrect recipient "found in Mail" (and why Apple recipients to merge two incorrectly in the first place)

I don't know how it happened, but I got a new doctor yesterday morning (it was the first time email address), they replied, then I replied again. Everything was fine.  Then, I sent my father later in the afternoon on a guitar. He said that he never had the email about the guitar but then later the new doctor responded saying I sent this message from guitar to them by mistake. I looked in my "Sent" to the message folder and it was sent to 'Rick Smith', which is the correct name for my father, but when I developed the details the actual address itself was my address of doctors!

I checked my Contact cards and card "Rick Smith" my father had no address of the doctor as an email, so it's been very well. Also, I had not all the contact cards using this email to all address. In Apple mail, I went to the "previous winners' window and has removed the false contact and thought it would solve the problem. Unfortunately when I type in "Rick" when sending a new email, the first suggestion in the drop-down list gives me the real email "[email protected]" and the second suggestion is "Rick Smith - doctorxxxx@gmail ' and it is said that address"was in the mail." I also tried to delete the message and he always appears as an option in the drop-down list. In addition, I have a contact card for my dad with the correct address, so I don't know why he can't just use that one correct.

I'm used to typing «Ri...» "and then selecting"Rick Smith"when I start a new email for him, but I don't want my doctor obviously message.

First, how can I get rid of this fake recipient...

Secondly, how and why Apple Mail merging those two into one without my knowledge? Is this a glitch El Capitan? (I just changed recently)

I admit that your message is too long for me to read in its entirety.

But I think you have some additional e-mail recipient information you do not wish to keep.

In the Mail application, use the menu to go to the window > previous winners and clean you want to delete from there.
