Native applications?

Hello

When you buy apps for the watch, how do you know whether they are native or not? Looking for a calculator application that can be used without the phone.

Thank you

Hi Richard

There is currently no way to check at a glance if this feature is included or not. Instead, you'll need to check the app description and/or consult the developer support resources.

If you want Apple to consider adding a convenient badge or other indicator within the App Store for this purpose, you can suggest:

  • Android APP and Native application using the same push record ID

    Hello

We have an Android existing converted app we use for BB10 platform that we are in the process of gradually. Replace this app is an application of BB10 Native with the same name and features.

My question is that I have to get a new record ID to push for the new Native application or can I use the existing production record ID?

Ideally, I would like to migrate my users off the coast of the old version of the application to the new with the least problems for customers.

    Thank you

    Andrew

You should be able to use the same ID for this record.

  • Start the native application of the android app

I need to do a task which is not allowed to make an android app. So I created a native app and I want to start this app for my android app. Is this possible?

I found this question as soon as 2013 (https://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Android-Development/How-to-register-my-Android-app-as-Conten...), but it's 2 years old...

I don't want to develop my entire application natively.

It is possible to what you describe.  An Android application can invoke a native BlackBerry 10 application.  You can even create a headless BlackBerry 10 app that runs in the background (similar to a service on Android).  So the action can be executed without the user see the GUI of the native application.

In addition, starting with native apps BlackBerry BlackBerry 10 10.3.2 can launch Android applications.  Here are a few links to help you get started on the side BlackBerry 10.

Is any way to change the icons in the home screen (such as: downloads, browser, contacts power Turn Off etc.) using a native app in addition to change the theme?

Just note that we are unable to change the icon of any native application, but we can change the application icon like Contact, calendar, browser... for that you must find the descriptor of these applications and then using the method of the home screen, you can change the icons...

  • Call native applications

Does anyone know how we can call native applications such as the browser, email client or AppWorld? I've seen other applications invoke the browser and email, so I know it's possible, but I can't find anything in the documentation of the AIR.

@Ebscer, there are likely several ways that work, which uses navigateToURL() with a 'plan' appropriate.

Using of "file:", "http:", "https:" and possibly others should open the browser.

I don't know if others have been documented yet. I've seen either "app:" or "appworld:" in the Simulator (down in the tree of /pps somewhere under "navigator") but I need to get my tablet before I can experiment more with this as the Simulator, of course, is almost useless for such things.

There are also several other techniques mentioned at the beginning of this thread: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Tablet-OS-SDK-for-Adobe-AIR/PDF-word-and-xls-support-in-playb...

  • Incorporation of a control "web view" in a native application

Something I wanted to say to ask the NDK experts this week but I forgot: it is now possible to integrate a web browser in a native application, similar to how this can be done via a web control in Adobe AIR applications?

Cascades is currently provided as part of the SDK BB10.  The plan announced publicly, is that BB10 will be available on the PlayBook sometime after that BB10 phones are released later this year.  I can't speculate on dates.

And can't I speculate on the question of if the waterfalls will appear publicly in a version of the pre-BB10 PlayBook software.  We know only what is known

I asked webview native non-Cascades and I was told that is not available today.

    See you soon,.

  • ApplicationIndicator the value across the icon on native applications

    Hi all

I work in Bold and Storm with OS 4.6 and 4.7

    I have created an indicator of the Application that displays a value to his side. I set this value with the following line of code: ApplicationIndicatorRegistry.getInstance () .getApplicationIndicator () .setValue (5);

The problem I have is that this value ("5") appears to the right of the icon of the indicator of demand and in all native applications, the value is displayed on the left of the icon.

So, I want to display a value in the same way as native applications (left of the icon of the indicator of demand). How can I do? Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Gabriela.

The list of API messages does not allow an application to choose how many unread to appear on the side of the indicator image.

  • Native application stops at the black screen

I have a native application that does some stuff, prints on the standard output, and then ends.  When I run it via telnet, it works fine, but when I run it from the menu, it hangs at a black screen and newspaper/Journal is created but it is empty.

    Any ideas?

I found it.  For some reason my app was panic when LANG = C.  I set LANG = "" in blackberry - tablet.xml as a workaround for the moment. "

  • Can we read/write in native application of contact?

Is it possible to read/write the native application of contact using the android runtime? The api says it succeeds, and if I dump the db slider in a newspaper, it shows the recording, but the native application of contact does not show recording.

If I make a new record using the native application of contact and then launch the android application and empty the db again, it does not show the contact, I added, which makes me think that they are separated.

Is it possible to read/write in the native application of contact? The Simulator says it of an Alpha, is this something that will work on a real device of BB 10?

    Hello

Currently, we do not support the read/write in the Native contacts database. For android, you can add the phone number and e-mail to existiing contacts, but not create new ones.

It is something we are looking to support in versions of features.

    Thank you

  • The android app icon is smaller than the native applications on Dev Alpha

It is somehow related to http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Android-Runtime-Development/apk2bar-resizes-the-app-icon-to-8...

However, even if I have difficulty icon resized, changing the bar produce and pack a 150 x 150 icon, on DevAlpha (10.0.9.388) the icon looks like smaller than the icon of a native application (if WebWorks or Cascades). I also used the setting - os to target only the BB 10 but without results.

Is there something that I need to specify the apk2bar command?

    Thanks for your help.

This has been fixed in DevAlpha 10.0.9.1103.

  • Is there a plan to support iOS when building native applications?

My company needs to produce our HR projects in native applications for Android and iOS. Does anyone know if Adobe plans to support iOS any time soon?

This is part of the new RoboHelp 2015. It uses PhoneGap Build to create both Android and iOS apps. There is a Mobile App SSL where you specify your key to iOS and you're good to go.
