Navigate to the login page of workspace APEX while clicking on the LOGO image in the application

Hi friends,

IM an APEX application on top of the APEX 4.2.3 in the fact that in the properties of the application for the LOGO, I made a picture as

#WORKSPACE_IMAGES #bluehill.jpg

When I click on this image in the means of implementation, it redirects to the home page, because I don't want this redirect to happen all by clicking on the image. So, for that, on the interface tab, I erased the navigation link which is targeted for the HOME URL = ' f? p = & APP_ID.:1: & SESSION. "with a space, like this URL HOME choice is the mandatory option to provide.

Once, after that I sent back a space for the URL of HOME page and after that if I clicked on the image using the application, then it redirects to the APEX workspace login page. Im not sure why this is happening shortly after I made reference to a space for that.

Kindly help me to limit the page redirect by clicking on the logo of the application.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Mini

If you don't want the logo as a link, edit the page templates and delete the href="#HOME_LINK#" attribute of the logo a element. (It should probably not remove the anchor element completely it can be used for styling purposes).

    I'm using Firefox and not getting not any question. I used the first time IE-7 (7.0.5x) to access the application. I noticed that by pressing the button "Login" on the Login Page, it has been said in the bottom left of the EI says "Error on page" and was not navigate to any page or did not perform any action.

    I checked all services and everything was OK. When you use Firefox, I was able to navigate through the application without any problem.

    Using IE 7, I am able to access

    Most of the stuff seems to work fine when recording using above URLS, but 'GO' buttons throwing same error in IE "error on page". Rest of the Bottons as "Browser Edit", "Edit Favorites" are working very well, but when I push the button 'Go' then IE error display on any Page. It seems to me that when the need for a button navigate to the next page then IE saying 'Error on page' but when a button do lunch a new page it works fine.

  • When will it be possible to navigate in the components of small and big day in the calendar with the arrow keys and PgUp/Dwn?

    Because I have difficulty working with the mouse (like many people), would be nice if I can use the keyboard as far as possible when applications on the computer. I often use Alt Tab, Ctrl-Tab, PgUp/Dwn - < item of menu or button-to-do-something thing > etc. The lightning might be easier to use in this regard.

    In my opinion, this way of designing the user interface must be applied as much as possible. And it should not hinder - but supplement - other ways to navigate through the applications, as in the mouse, scroll bars, etc.

    When a developer or more find time to fix it. You can keep an eye on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472448 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431076 for the current state.

    Dev,

    On the Essbase server, the values of the variables ESSBASEPATH and ARBORPATH should point to C:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer, not in the EssbaseClient folder.

    Check the paths and change them if necessary.

    It could be that useful...

  • APEX listener returns the empty login page

    APEX 4.2.2

    APEX 2.0.2 listener

    GlassFish 3.1.2.2

    The platform is 32-bit, Linux, Amazon EC2

    I am reasonably sure I have properly deployed the apex.war and i.war to Glassfish and set a virtual path and database connection correctly.

    When you run Firefox on the EC2 machine, access to the

    http://localhost: 8080/apex/dad1.

    does not return a login page, no problem. But navigation externally visible publicly address (I have to hide the real address, I'll use a.b.c.d) of the hosting machine or across the net returns a blank page:

    http://a.b.c.d:8080/apex/dad1.

    The success of this operation:

    http://a.b.c.d:8080

    I get the standard Glassfish page so I know Glassfish is listening on that address.

    I also tried from the stand-alone earphone, and I get the same effect: it refers to a login screen when browsing the localhost, but go to the external address, I get a blank page.

    The pages are really blank, there is no indication in the source of the page and it's all Firebug returns:

    <html>

    <> Chief

    "" <link title= "wrap long lines" " href="resource://gre-resources/plaintext.css" type="text/css"" rel= "alternative style"> "

    I tried to enable the query server side, but I have yet to find the way to produce the equivalent of an access.log. Searching the forum produced a few references to "routing rules" but I couldn't find what and where he could be.

    As the listener works perfectly when you go to localhost, I can't believe that rthis is the common problem of not finding the vivid, or url mapping problem. But I am of course open to suggestions!

    Any idea will be welcome.

  • APEX 4.1 Login page kills the existing session cookie

    So far the session cookie enabled us to figure out if the user has already had a session and redirect them to the page they wanted using this session (thanks to a method on the page of connection). Just try APEX 4.1 and it seems that this quick hack will not work, because:
    a. the session cookie has been replaced by the time that the login page is loading
    b. the login page gives no clue as to the destination of the user actually wanted (used to be able to verify OWA_UTIL. GET_CGI_ENV('QUERY_STRING') to see what looked like the URL, but now the URL is simply the login page)

    The problem that I am trying to solve is a job of logging system where users get a lot of e-mail notifications. With the standard behavior of the APEX, they will have to identify each time they click on a link in an e-mail. Because it is a rather unusual behavior for another web application, I used, anyone has any ideas about how to get the APEX to stop killing sessions by substituting the cookie whenever it sees a URL he dislikes? Have tried to use the session 0, but still it beats my cookie.

    Hey Capt egg,

    Nice to see that you studied and found a solution. However, I think that things can be a bit improved. It seems that you already used a custom authentication scheme, it is good, because it allowed to use application session hooks join. However, I think that this does not exactly what you expect.

    During the installation of the session, at the beginning of the Summit "request for treatment, he runs about this code:"

    1 write the session id of the query (parameter to URL or POST) in a global variable
    2 load of metadata application authentication (cookie name, Sentry function, function of invalid session, etc.)

    3. If a global session exists, run "Builtin Cookie Sentry":
    3.1 query the table of the session by the value of the cookie.
    3.2 If the session of the query id matches the overall session id, session information matching.
    3.3. in the case, the session information is incomplete, reset the session variable.

    4. If this is not the login page, run application-specific Sentinel:
    4.1 run the result of the Sentinel session function if a function is defined
    4.2 If the Sentinel returned true function, run the validation function if it is set

    5. "create / reuse Session."
    5.1. If the session variable points to a valid session record, the user to read and other variables of the session save
    5.2 in the case, create a new session not authenticated

    6. write a new cookie in HTTP session if a new session was created

    7. If the sentinels (4) returned false, run 'Invalid Session Manipulation':
    7.1 save deep link in the current page
    7.2 run invalid session function if a function is defined
    7.3 redirect to url "Invalid Session" of authentication

    This is only an overview and implementation details may change. However, I think that it can show major problems with the help of the function of invalid session for Assembly of the session:

    -In (4.1), the engine creates a record of the session and the session id
    -In (6), the engine creates a session cookie
    -Invalid session feature modifies the session global variable id back to the old session, but there is still a newly created session
    -The function of session invalid re-inits the htp buffer and thus cancels (6) high. The connection of the session would create a new session for each request, otherwise.

    My suggestion is that you use a sentinel of session instead. Here is an example:

    function session_joining_sentry return boolean is
      l_cookie_session_id number;
      l_user              APEX_WORKSPACE_SESSIONS.USER_NAME%TYPE;
      l_result            boolean;
      procedure dbg(p_str in varchar2)
      is
      begin
        apex_application.debug('session_joining_sentry: '||p_str);
      end dbg;
    begin
      if APEX_CUSTOM_AUTH.GET_SESSION_ID is not null then
        dbg('apex could already determine session by URL session id and cookie value');
        l_result := true;
      else
        dbg('apex could not determine session by URL session id and cookie value');
        l_cookie_session_id := APEX_CUSTOM_AUTH.GET_SESSION_ID_FROM_COOKIE;

        if l_cookie_session_id is not null then
          dbg('apex found session via cookie. we try to re-use this as our current session id');
          begin
            select user_name
              into l_user
              from APEX_WORKSPACE_SESSIONS
             where apex_session_id = l_cookie_session_id;
            l_result := true;
          exception when NO_DATA_FOUND then
            dbg('session could not be found in session table - sentry fails');
            l_result := false;
          end;

          if l_result then
            dbg('re-using session for user '||l_user);
            APEX_CUSTOM_AUTH.DEFINE_USER_SESSION (
              p_user       => l_user,
              p_session_id => l_cookie_session_id);
          end if;
        else
          dbg('apex could not find the session cookie. sentry fails');
          l_result := false;
        end if;
      end if;

      return l_result;
    end session_joining_sentry;

    Also, it should be noted that the session join is precarious. If you plan to implement this, please make sure that you understand the dangers of the cross-site request forgery:

  • Navigate to the correct page after login

    Hi Ben
    I have a list of links that navigate on different pages. Some of the pages that links navigate to be approved, so page 101 is presented to the user. When the user connects, page 101 ordered them on page 1 (at home). How can I make the experience smoother users taking them on the page that they have planned to go to. A few times this page will be in another application.

    Thank you
    Ben

    Ben,

    When you use this format first (P_FLOW_PAGE =>: APP_ID |) (': 1'), the result should be that the login page after is the originally requested page (deep link). If no page has been requested, say just specified the application in the connection of execution ID, then the login page after page of the current application 1 will be.

    When you use this second format (P_FLOW_PAGE =>: APP_ID), the result should be that the login page after is the originally requested page (deep link). If no page was requested, say that you have specified just what ID application in the connection of execution, then the attribute of the application homepage link would be used for the connection URL after-service.

  • Apex, language of login page set after the connection based on the user pref browser lang and application-based

    Hello

    Request Express 4.2.3.00.08

    I created an application of multi languaguage in which the language is defined by setting: FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE

    But the login page, I would like to than the login page to be displayed in the browsers language.

    The url of the application connection looks like as shown below but the & BROWSER_LANGUAGE. product always (English).

    f? p = & APP_ID.:LOGIN_DESKTOP: & SESSION. : FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE: & BROWSER_LANGUAGE.

    LOGIN_DESKTOP is an intermediate page that has one before branch header for the page of real connection if the FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE is set prior to the loading of the page.

    If I set the language set in this URL, it works as expected:

    f? p = & APP_ID.:LOGIN_DESKTOP: & SESSION. : FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE:nl - page Login Show in NL

    f? p = & APP_ID.:LOGIN_DESKTOP: & SESSION. : FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE:-see the login page in EN

    When I put the application to choose the language based on the browser language that it works, but then I am not able to have users to save their preferences for the next time they are connected.

    Any ideas on why & BROWSER_LANGUAGE. translates by "in" even though the language in the browser is different?

    See you soon

    Bottom

    OK, he stares at me

    For all those interested, this is how.

    Create a page additional empy (with alias page LOGIN_FORWARD_PAGE) and set the url to connect to the application of this new page and set the value of the application on BRANCH_TO_PAGE_ACCEPT:

    f? p = & APP_ID.: LOGIN_FORWARD_PAGE: & SESSION. : BRANCH_TO_PAGE_ACCEPT:

    On the page to create a pl/sql process submit before calculations similar to one below which affect the en language, if the browser is not NL (in Dutch):

    If upper (substr (owa_util.get_cgi_env ('HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE'), 1, 2)) = "NL" then

    : FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE: = "nl";

    on the other

    : FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE: = 'en ';

    end if;

    And create a branch to submit before the treatment which redirects to the current login page (the value of FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE is then already set and the application is configured to use this setting).

    After that loging in you can extract the FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE based on the user.

    BTW, I had to switch to 4.2.5 there in 4.2.3 is a bug preventing to set session state when you use BRANCH_TO_PAGE_ACCEPT!

  • Limitation of the APEX: sharing pages between several APEX applications

    I was hoping if someone with a little more experience architect APEX could comment on some of the limitations that I see and I have to make good decisions, working around the problem.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

    One of the limitations I've seen, it's how APEX handles applications and pages. Each application appears as an island, it has its own set of pages, the processes of connection, templates, CSS, JS, references etc.. Regarding the CSS and Javascript, you can be defined in a central location, but still, every new developed APEX application must be configured to make use of your 'standard '.

    The more traditional web solutions showing each as stand-alone web page and any web page can call/reference any other page and pass information to session between them.

    With APEX, however this doesn't seem to be the case.

    A solution would be to have a huge demand for APEX, where all the pages are the property of this unique application.

    Unfortunately, we use of APEX and EBS R11 (& R12) together; all APEX applications are started in the menus of the EBS. I had drawn a SSO solution between the two (without using oracle SSO). However, each APEX application is unique, as small modules instead of complete applications. In other words, we tend to use APEX as an alternative for Oracle Forms - each APEX application is a standalone program.

    I always wanted to be able to apply the same connection process and look and feel in the brand new APEX app we write.

    The way I went to this subject has been meticulously creating a 'model' APEX application. Embedded in the application of this model are all our shared CSS, JS and models that apply the site appearance. It also contains our custom library of signature unique code and debugging custom logger (think log4j but for APEX).

    So whenever a developer began work on a new APEX application, they start by cloning the model and automatically inherit all the functionally and website presentation.

    My concern is if this is really the best way to do it, or if I'm missing something?

    I am also concerned move forward when I wants to establish the change in appearance across all of our web applications that I need to touch each APEX application since. I'm trying to mitigate this by ensuring that almost all the programming logic is contained in packages of PL/SQL, CSS and Javascript only referenced and external application of the APEX. But this does not always with models, or with a logic that is rooted in the actual pages of the APEX etc.

    At least APEX allows you to easily enough copy pages between applications, but it does compare not just to have a single page shared between all applications of the APEX.

    Is there a better way to go about this?

    Hi attis.

    I think you can't really compare a module with an APEX application forms. I wouldn't say to create an APEX application every time when you have created a module of forms in the past.
    A forms module is just a few pages of an application to the APEX. Then you really should have more then a few pages in an APEX application. Certainly, a huge application is also not the way to go, but I group them for example by logical areas such as HR, logistics, order...

    As Sc0tt already mentioned, you must use the 'Subscribe' mechanism of shared components to make it easier to update all your applications with the model updates. But there is more, you should also share your user name and just have in one place and use the "simple APEX based SSO" that allows all applications within a workspace can share the same session. Simply set the 'Cookie' namesake in your authentication for all your applications and when you bind an application to another and include a valid session id you should not have to log in again and you can also set the session state in that other application.

    So here's what I'd do

    (1) creating a master application that contains
    (a) your theme and other components shared that you want to share
    (b) must be also some basic navigation lists to navigate between your applications...
    (c) create a sign with the name "Redirect to connect main app" and type accounts APEX (no matter) where you define the name of 'Cookie' to 'Cbx_missmost' and the URL of invalid session to the login page of your creation 'hand connection app '. For example: f? p = 9999:101: & SESSION.

    (2) create a model application which is a copy of the claim, but where change you the "subscription" of your models, authentication scheme and components shared in the main application. This will serve as your App developers if they want to create a new application.

    (3) create your 'hand connection app' (eg. app 9999 id) by
    ) a copy of your new model application
    (b) remove the inside authentication scheme (this is just made for this main connection app)
    (c) create a new type to use. But important: set the name of 'Cookie' to 'Cbx_missmost '. This will ensure that all applications have the same session cookie.
    (d) If you use APEX 4.1.1 you will automatically be redirected to the calling application after successful login.

    (4) start to create new applications by copying your 'model' application that contains all subscriptions.

    (5) If you run this application, it automatically redirects to your main connection application if the current session is not valid. This will avoid to have the same logic of authentication in your applications.

    (6) If you need to change your templates or shared components you just do in the "master" application and click on the "publish" button to push the changes for all your applications.

    But still, try to avoid many small applications, I think that make handling just unnecessarily complicated. It is an APEX application has a few hundred pages. For example, our APEX app Builder (app 4000) has more than 1260 pages.

    Concerning

  • Customize the Standard login page

    I use 24 cloudy theme on APEX 4.2.6.00.03.  Just try to do a few things that quickly brought me into an edumacation rabbit hole.  But I like to keep things simple.

    Try to change the background image on the standard login page (not in the region, not the image in option left in the area, I mean background image in the classical sense of HTML) which doesn't seem to work in the same way as the other pages.  It seems to relate to the theme & model page.  To replace the model of 'Login' to 'default theme' Page displays the background as planned for my setup below.

    On the attributes Page for the default login page so any application (e.g., p.101) using this theme (have not tried others).  I have change the HTML header on the page to be:

    < style type = "text/css" >

    body

    {

    background-image: url(#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#test.png);

    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    background-size: cover;

    }

    < / style >

    Where test.png is the name of a file that I imported into my workspace application.

    Run the page, and nothing happens.  Re-edit attributes Page, up to 'Default Theme' as shown and the background shows fine (but of course the rest of the layout is wrong).

    I guess I should be copying the model of Login Page (done) and then edit in a way to support the display of a background on this page.  Any thoughts on next steps?

    Probably your CSS rule is not applied due to rules theme appearing later in the cascade or with the greater specificity. Correspondre correspond to the specificity of rule of theme by adding that he uses the ID selector, then override the waterfall using the! important directive:

    body#uLogin {
        background-image: url(#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#test.png) !important;
        background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
        background-size: cover !important;
    }

    4.2 page Inline CSS property should be used for custom CSS acting rather than the HTML header, which has the advantage of not requiring the style wrapper element.

  • Cannot access the login page - get ' APEX_AUTHENTICATION. GET_LOGIN_USERNAME_COOKIE' must be declared

    I googled this problem on Google/here until my eyes is red...

    • I have a local instance of 11 GR 2 Oracle running on Windows 7/Dell computer laptop
    • APEX 4.2.5.00.08 is installed
    • Oracle REST data services (formerly APEX Listener) is running in stand-alone mode
    • The database is up and accessible via SQL * MORE and TOAD
    • I can access the administration page of the APEX at http://localhost: 8080/ADR/f? p = 4550:10 and navigate between options with success
    • Yesterday, I was able to access the login pages of the Application Builder/End User without problem
    • Today-

    It seems that something was badly damaged in the file of the application, but I can't seem to find it. I put in the database market and Restful Services, I re - compile all the objects for APEX_040200, APEX_030200, APEX_PUBLIC_USER and APEX.

    And since I can't even at the request of the manufacturer, I am completely stuck. I don't have (consciously anyway) to install plug-ins, but something seems to have went wrong.

    Thought I'd make it here until I leave but a re-install.

    Thank you

    John

    Ended up having to blow the database, re-create the database and re-install APEX. In the end, it appears something was badly damaged, but I could not understand that.

  • Alignments of zone apex 4.2 first Login page

    Hello

    I'm under Apex 4.2 on Oracle Express Edition (Linux). My login page has sometimes the alignments of the connection area of Workspace/name username/password under the image of the Apex as below: http://i.imgur.com/A49qx.png

    It is with the help of Firefox. The police page makes well with other browsers like IE or Chrome. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

  • Validation on the login page.

    Hello

    I want to add a validation on the login page. If the validation is wrong, see the message and the page does not redirect on page 1 (at home). However, the validation does not work.

    my example on:

    Apex. Oracle.com

    workspace: kiddoo_81
    username: Tester
    password: Tester

    the application (opp - 25575). I add validation on page 101. the linked table is opp_users.

    Oh, I think I see what's happening. Your approval is conditional on the "connect" button submit page but the page is submitted when you press ENTER after typing the password. If you need to perform the validation No conditional or change action "enter the pressed key" to send the page with a request value that distinguishes itself by the validation.
