Navigation button import into Captivate Flash help...

Hi guys and girls
I try to get my flash animation imported to interact with a captivate2 lesson im creating.
This is my first time using flash and Captivate together, and im hating the limitations that Captivate throw at me.
Basically, I want to pause the captivate movie when chronology hits the flash swf and then resume once the 'flash' button is released.
I currently have the following script on the first frame of my flash swf:

_root.rdcmndPause = 1;

and then I have my button:

on (release) {}
_root.rdcmndNextSlide = 1;
}

(the flash swf file is an animated flip book)
Anyone know what im doing wrong?

Hmm, that's a little crazy...

{We (Release)}
stopAllSounds();
_root.rdcmndNextSlide = 1;
}

ActualY works now...

  • Transparent FLV imported into Captivate 4

    Hi everyone-

    So, here's my situation, I have an AVI movie of a person walking in front of a green screen. I got the AVI file in After Effects and took out the green background and have created a transparent background. I exported the file (Yes, I made sure I clicked on the Encode Alpha channel to keep transparency) in FLV format. Now, when I import into Captivate it does not keep the background transparent, it has a black background. BUT if I import into Flash, it maintains the background transparent. Why is this? Captivate can not handle this, or what I need to change my format / click another option/a thing so that it appears with a transparent background?

    The goal is to have the person walk on the screen, observers of the tutorial and then go back, so I need the background is transparent. Is there another choice or a product that I use to create this FLV file?

    Any thoughts or ideas would be great! Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    Of course, this feature works in Captivate 4. I know because I have facilitated in all classes of Captivate 4, it was an exercise. So I guess it has something to do with the way that your video has been encoded. Weird that it would behave correctly in Flash but not Captivate. This makes me wonder if it has something to do with your version of the Flash Player/Plug In. Maybe try to upgrade?

  • Clarity of video lost when mp4 is imported into Captivate 7

    I imported an mp4 file and I have to shrink the video display when it comes into Captivate which I think is the reason why I lost the clarity of the screenshots in the video.  I have to change the dimensions in Captivate so that it can be bigger?  Something to do with the resolution?

    Hello

    Try first to convert your file using Adobe media encoder according to the resolution you want in captivate and then insert the final video in Captivate.

    Adobe Media Encoder is installed as well as 7 Captivate, you can find it in the list of programs.

  • An object flash shockwave (video) can be imported into Captivate 7?

    I don't think, I don't see this as an option file extension when you import a video file, but thought I would check.

    Hello

    Yes, you can insert a shockwave Flash video with extension as .swf in Captivate.

    If you want to import a flash Shockwave (.swf) object you click Insert > Animation.

    Hope that answers your query

  • Import buttons, then changing in Flash help

    Howdy,

    I'm a noob in Flash and watched some basic tutorials to help me get started on the basics. I bought a Flash button that when more wriggle a an expolsion of fireworks. This source is reliable as I bought here from the store of MMFILES.com and is a production of Patrick Jansen Design.

    I give myself 6 buttons of each with different types of explosion. All I'm doing is change the text to fit a menu bar that I've created in Dreamweaver.

    Flash and are all two Dreamweaver CS5.5

    Here is the link to the product.

    http://www.mmfiles.com/Flash/buttons/fireworks_button_1751.html

    For the life of me I can't understand these basic instructions.

    1. unzip the .zip file.

    2. open flash CS3 or higher

    3. open fireworks_button.fla

    Firworks component 4. drag"button"library of .fla fireworks_.fla to the new .fla library you want to use it in.

    5.Drag component 'Fireworks button' at the new library of .fla with fireworks on the new scene/canvas of the new .fla

    6. Select the component button with fireworks on stage and the open Component Inspector

    7. choose "setting"Button text"text button should display.

    8 set the other to love you.

    OK, I'm confused is in steps 4 to 6.

    I have 1 window open in flash above my scene that I have 2 HTML documents to pass. firework_button and the one I created without title-1

    Here is where I have my problem. I can go to the library of fireworks and made button drag to a new created library in Untitles-1, but when I drag on stage can't find any inspector comoponent. I go to the window and open component of the inspect "Shift + F7" and he is not there and said to select instance to change its settings. "

    from here, I've tinkered autour dominating in the property for example window name, but it just keep opening up more choices when I click something like change the text. I don't know I've spent hours on it, and all I want to do is change the text of the buttons.

    Once you open the Inspector, click on your button component to select it.  now, check the Inspector panel.  It should give options as described by the author of the component.

    If it's not, and you will see that "check the properties panel, open the control panel (window/properties) properties, click the component to select it and check the properties panel."  You may need to scroll down the properties panel, and you may need to open sub-panels.

  • Video imported into adobe Flash CC 2015 do not play

    I am trying to create an animation on a video in Adobe Flash CC 2015.

    To do this, I first loaded a video in the scene (video output with component of reading)

    First problem:

    -Video playback component is not active, that is, I can not play my video, all I have is a still image.

    Second problem:

    -J' have also created a new layer to animate on my video. I did a form and converted into a symbol. When I create a motion tween, the scene becomes white, and I can't see my video.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you!

    Is your goal to have the video and animation over the video in a single SWF file? Or you want to create a video that has your animation on top of it?

    If you want to embed the video in a SWF file you would import the FLV file in the timeline (without using a component of FLCPlayback), then the timeline is as long as the video and you can add animations in other layers.

    If you want to make an animation that goes on top of a video, a better option now is to incorporate an H.264 video file on the timeline. Then you can animate it, scrub the timeline, everything to be perfect, and export a video file that is just your animation. Then use a video editing program, such as After Effects or Premiere, layer your animation on the original video.

    If you have a FLV playing from an external file, use a swf for animation and load the FLV file, you can't really preview it in the way that you are wanting to do.

  • .swf imported into captivate 5 shows "points of progress?"

    When I import a .swf in Captivate 5 and you can see the film in captivate, slide with shoes .swf points in the middle of the face.

    Happening horizontally from a point, two points, etc., and after 5 points, he repeats.

    It looks like a preloader-type of thing, but last the length of the .swf.

    I had this same problem in Captivate 4.

    Is there anyone else out there with this problem! ???

    Please help if you can.

    Kind regards

    Tallis lockos

    Hi Tallis,

    I have not seen this issue. How has this SWF created? It's a big file? You say that you have had the same problem in CP4, with the same SWF? Are you sure it's an AS3 SWF as CP5 only supports AS3 (not sure of all that could be the cause, but wanted to ask him).  What do you see when you play the SWF outside the CP so that independent?

  • Help re - bind the Navigation buttons

    I have Adobe Flash CS3 Pro.

    I have a header navigation file supplied with my flash Web site template and I find it difficult to make sense of the actionscript. It has a logo with effects, 5 buttons main nav that move and two additional link above the navigation bar buttons. For now, let's focus on all the Navigation buttons. Here's what I've collected. I have several buttons text on a movieclip, and I successfully edited the text for each button. If I look at the actionscript code in the top layer of this movieclip I see:

    "gotoAndStop (parent._parent.num);"

    I also have a movieclip symbol separated (with effects) with 5 layers of buttons listed in the actionscript code with the following actionscript code associated with each key of numbers from 1 to 5:

    onClipEvent (load) {}

    Num = 1;

    }

    onClipEvent (load) {}

    Num = 2;

    }

    onClipEvent (load) {}

    NUM = 3;

    }

    onClipEvent (load) {}

    NUM = 4;

    }

    onClipEvent (load) {}

    NUM = 5;

    }

    On the top layer of these 5 buttons, I have the following actionscript code:

    Stop();

    This ["Item" + _root. Button] .gotoAndPlay ("S1");

    _root. Link = _root.button;

    I also have a symbol to separate with the following actionscript code button:

    on {(overview)

    If {(_root.link <> 1)}

    menu. Item1.gotoAndPlay ("S1");

    }

    }

    on (releaseOutside, deployment) {}

    If {(_root.link <> 1)}

    menu. Item1.gotoAndPlay ("S2");

    }

    }

    on (release) {}

    If {(_root.link <> 1)}

    _root.menu ["Item" + _root. Link] .gotoAndPlay ("S2");

    _root. Link = 1;

    getURL ("index.html");

    }

    }

    Now, my Web site template came with pages of html 5 that my flash navigation buttons are: (index.html, 1.html - index, index - 2.html, index - 3.html, index - 4.html, index - 5.html). My problem is that I created a new page (index.html, about.html, featured.html, projects.html, contact.html). I wish all 5 buttons to match these pages, not existing pages of standard "index - tswan.html.

    In addition, this probably isn't relevant, but each html page has something to that effect so I can see how they correspond to each button.

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    var fo = new FlashObject ("flash/menu_vf8.swf? ") button 2 =', the 'head', '100% ', '144', '7', ' ');

    fo.addParam ("quality", "high");

    fo.addParam ("wmode", "transparent");

    fo.addParam ("scale", "noscale");

    FO. Write ("Head");

    < /script >

    I guess my real question is: what actionscript should I update or delete the nav button LINKS to work with my new html rather than the pages of index pages - tswan.html 5 standard he wants automatically a link to?

    When I try and add a "getURL" command to each of the 5 buttons and test to preview the film, the links work, but it messes up the effects of the movieclip. In other words, the buttons do not move, they are immobile, but the links work. If I added this command to each key somehow, what actionscript would I need remove so there are no complications? I need help expertise here because it would be much appreciated. I am a novice with Flash script and its killing me that I can't understand it. I asked for assistance in support of the model and all they came back with the following message, it was, and it was not helpful:

    1. You need to duplicate each button you change - it is very important.

      (2) update the script to search in a similar way:

      on (release) {}
      If {(_root.link <>num)
      _parent ["Item" + _root. Link] .gotoAndPlay ("S2");
      _root. Link = num;
      If (num == 1) {}
      getURL ("index.html");
      } else {}
      getURL ("index-" + Number(num-1) + ".html");
      }
      }
      }

      Update for:

      on (release) {}
      getURL ("http://www.google.com");
      }

    menu.jpg

    Also, I read the following discussion, which was helpful to a certain extent, but it is not always answer my questions about links to work.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/3614092#3614092

    Can I make the code see you now, it's an approach I've seen somewhat regularly for AS1/2 designs.  These "num" values that specifies the html pages that are linked.  Each button is assigned a value of num, in your case 1 to 5.

    Based on the line of code...

    getURL ("index-" + Number(num-1) + ".html");

    I think that your header links pages were named index - 1.html thru index - 4.html.  If you can see why I say that there is hope, that you can fix yourself.

    If you want to bind the new pages you either must name them agree with this convention, sense rename index about.html - 1.html, rename featured.html index - 2.html, etc... or change the way the values num are defined or updated profit.

  • When importing a flash animation in captivate flash won't call external files

    Is there a way to import flash into captivate and it still be able to call external files (ie. xml sound or video)? When I import a flash in captivate it will not call any external file.

    Just for the follow-up of this. I got files from Marcus on the email and the problem is that the Flash file using ActionScript 3 (AS3) and Captivate 3 doesn't support the Flash AS3 files.

    That's why it would work as expected.

    I like to create a button where I can go directly to my home page. Currently I use Dreamweaver to do. Can I add this option in web creation Lr?

    You can replace 'Name of Contact' with 'Home' and then insert the link to your home page before you export the web gallery.

  • My sound became STRONG after it gets imported into Flash. What is going on?

    This is the first time I had this problem. I record the sound in WavePad and then import into Flash. When I import it the sound extends just to the ground screaming. I pulled out and he does again but whenever it is ablaze in Flash. What is going on?

    kglad was wrong. It was this means say to serve not 44.1 Kbps as the data, the sampling frequency of 44.1 KHz rate. The sampling rate can be the cause of the problem, but the bit depth of sound is more likely. Flash cannot deal with 32-bit audio.

    Then, open the sound in the sound editor and do a save as and select as sampling frequency 44.1 KHz and 16 bit as the bit depth. It's more likely to work in Flash.

  • Captivate swf issues navigation - buttons sometimes work, sometimes not

    I have a single file Captivate 5.5 with 100 + slides. I have the back and buttons next on most of the slides, as well as navigation buttons to slides of early for the various sections in the module.

    Some nav buttons work well all the time, some never work right and some are intermittent - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When they do not they either go to the wrong slide, nothing happens.

    I'm puzzled why this is happening. The properties of the buttons that work are identical to those that are not. It is possible that I have slides quiz grouped throughout the module. I wonder if the problem might be related to that.

    Any ideas?

    -Stuart

    Hi Stuart,

    The malfunction buttons are placed on Quiz slides?

    Can you copy and paste all the slides to a new empty project at the same resolution and republish that. (Note, you must deselect the result Quiz slide before copying, as it can ' be copied)

    Do see you the project locally or on LMS?

    Thank you
