navto://folioname. ArticleName #page

Hi again,

I have a stupid question, which can probably be answered very brief:

Is this the button can link one URL - (or other) for a different folio as the diagram above?

Jan

You can use a URL scheme to access the articles specific folios. Folios should be free, not retail, or links seems broken. See DPS tips > advanced overlays > advanced linking.

  • navto: / / next page at the end of the scroll

    Hey all,.

I'm looking at the March issue of Wired that the lid seems to be a good picture scroll when the user presses the edge to the right of the image, it climbs to the next page. It is an action, I've not seen before but have tried to understand.

Does anyone know how this is done? It doesn't seem to be anything other than a framework floating, but it isn't a feature I know in DPS.

    Thank you

    -Scott

    Woah, that's cool!

It is HTML, not our floating frame. When it hits the right scroll point the navto: / / the second page is triggered.

  • DPS for iPad, which connects the pages from a several page file

    Hello world!

I built an InDesign CS6 file for a presentation of the iPad, it contains video files, files Edge animate more basic text and photos; It is 16 pages total so far. It is a horizontal format only.

Now there is a new page with 10 links, each is a link to a PDF of several page article. I don't want the user to leave Adobe Content Viewer to view these documents. One solution I have is to convert a JPEG to each page, use the feature of overlay for the panorama of the image up and down to read. A mini navigation will be built to jump from one page to another or return to the original link page. The problem is the user must type the image first to activate panoramic, not a big problem, but is not intuitive.

Is there another way I can view these pages while remaining in the content viewer, by keeping horizontal iPad and offering a 'back' button to return to the original page?

Are the articles in a different folio? If so, you can not do cross-linking in the content viewer - folio just custom viewers.

If the items you want to link to are of the same Folio, you can use the navto: / / [articlename] #n format. In the bonds of navto, the first page is 0. If you have an article named "Guide" and you wanted to go to page 4, you create a button with an action to go to the URL: navto://Guide#3.

  • Navigate to another HTML page in the same section file

    Hi all

It is possible to navigate to another HTML page in the same file of the article? E.g. index.html contains an < a > tag has a href pointing to page2.html? This seems to work in the application of preflight in the iOS, but not in Windows. Currently I use relative links, for example

    < a href = "page2.html" > Page 2 < /a >

Should I use a different syntax? For example

    < a href = "navto://page2.html" > Page 2 < /a >

    Thank you

    Frank

I found the solution. Use rather JS. Windows.Location.href seems to work for ios and windows.

  • NAV page to browse a Collection

It is not possible to navto: / / to a page to browse collection of in an article in the same collection?

Not at the moment. Nate and I were just talking with genius yesterday how to add support for this property. I hope that in the next releases!

  • A link to other articles of folio

This has been asked several times, but I have not found an answer right (for beginners) lead to the question ' how can I associate from article to another article in folio a folio "even the DPS tips app isn't a definitive answer to this specific question, the answer given is vague enough to be wrong (several times)

    As I understand it

    1. You must create a developer of folio multi application (for testing)
    2. You must specify an optional URL scheme in the DPS App Builder, preferably a URL opposite i.e. com.example.myapp
    3. You must have at least 2 published folios
    4. You must use the navto: / / and the structure should be something like navto://com.example.myapp/FolioName/ArticleName#4 the 4 hash would be the page number

    Is this correct?

There are a few things I'm not clear

    1. Can I use a slash or do I have to use colons to separate my URL string
      example 1: navto://com.example.myapp/FolioName/ArticleName#4
      example 2: navto://com.example.myapp:FolioName:ArticleName #4
    2. It is case-sensitive
    3. Can names folio and article have spaces and if they don't how I deal with them, example:
      example 1: navto://com.example.myapp/Folio name/Article name #4
    4. In the Indesign Document I use the Panel 'Buttons and forms' of the 'Interactive' option
    5. Am I simply specifying a command "Go To URL" and place my navto: / / link in the box provided

Phil, a couple of things. First of all, you jump into an advanced technique which is difficult for a beginner. Second, this isn't a workflow-supported, but we work for quite a long time. Thirdly, try to create an article with a link to an article of DPS tips so that you can experiment with the syntax.

    1. slash. See the example on page 2, step 2 of article advice from DPS. And note the "v1" after the URL schema. You are missing in your examples. And there is no ' navto: ' prefix in order to link the cross-folio.

    2. Yes, it is case sensitive. Use the names of the folio and article as they appear in the Folio Builder Panel and replace the appropriate HTML code such as % 20 for a space spaces or special characters.

    3. Yes, use %20 to a space. Yet once, refer to the example of advice of DPS.

    4. Yes, buttons and form of Panel.

    5. No, there is no navto: prefix. Again, see page 2, step 2 of the DPS > Advanced overlays > advanced linking article.

  • Hyperlink does not work in Adobe Content Viewer?

    Hey

I'm trying to link a photo to another page in InDesign. No matter how I do it, it is especially important that it works .

So far, I managed to create an active hyperlink from a photo to a page, and it works on my computer. But as soon as I test in Adobe Content Viewer, nothing happens when I press the photo.

    Is this possible to do?

    Thank you!

  • Multiple languages

    Hi, I m a nuisance:

You will need to create a simple application with several languages, pe, Spanish, Italian, French. Now, I know how to make those languages available in all Indesign documents, I did (with buttons) but: is there any solution to make it available through the beginig of the document, it everywhere and not by choosing the language from any page of the folio?

Hope you understand my question. Thank you, Angel.

I guess that you might be using a navto: to access pages, but users who use your application would be able to navigate manually in other languages as well since these pages would be also inside the app, if you agree with this, you can use this feature.

  • navto other pages of the article does not

I've encountered a problem that I think I know the solution, but I'd throw out there to see if anyone has a workaround solution before thinking says solution.

I have a folio for iPad viewing that will probably be used to share via Content viewer.

The folio is a horizontal orientation only and consists of a single InDesign article with pages 14 or while I set swipe horizontal only (currently). On each page, there is a State two MSO that serves as a navigation to the other page. For example, when the user click on a magnifying glass icon (with a fill not any trait don't button top in quality of State 1 of ASM) it opens the nav Panel (State 2 OSM) other non - fill there is no button stroke during an 'x' to close the nav Panel (returning to the State 1 IE the Panel not visible nav - just the magnifying glass icon)

This nav Panel 2 State of the OSM has a scroll with the buttons navto frame: ING other pages in the article by using the go to page navto (navto://articlename#1)

This MSO Group (with buttons) is then copied and pasted on each InDesign doc page.

These buttons work fine, but the navigation takes me to the wrong page when hit in any page of bar page 1. For example in the page 1 (title page) when I type navto://articlename#4 it takes me to the right page, but when I type navto://articlename#6 or #7 (or any other page number) it does not take me to the correct page I want to go.

I suspect indesign is getting confused as he tries to navigate to a page to another page in the same InDesign and the numbering system is getting messed up.

Unless I can invent a work around, I guess I'll have to separate pages in separate articles and navto://articlename...

I want to keep the navigation system of the DSO and I want it to be horizontal scan only I want also a wide belt and the shoulder straps of the 'front to the rear of the content' in working order.

Thanks in advance, hope that I made things clear.

    Steve

If you are on iOS or Windows do not use explicit page number. Use instead our new relative navto: / / function to put a simple link that always takes the reader to the following page: navto://current#next.

  • Navto a different view on the same page

Is it possible to use the navto command to access a different view in a page or is to work in a floating framework?

Yes, using decimal numbers in your navto page number. For example, navto://myarticle#2.3 jumps to a place between the page 3 and 4, in an article of smooth scrolling.

For examples, see the advice of DPS > Advanced overlays > scrolling image links.

  • navto links go dead when not the first article of collection

I feel very odd behavior with navto links in the articles of DPS solution.

I have an article with a big button with this link: navto://GRhodes_PofC_contents#1--juste the name of another article in the same collection, goes to the second page.

If I set up the collection so that the article with the link of navto load first, the button works.  If it is nowhere else in the collection (and I navigate through a link from another article), the button is dead.  It's clearly reading the action because the < = back link is not displayed at the top of the screen.  And no error rises ("content not found"), instead, it does nothing.  Looks like a bug, but I can't diagnose.  I have not tried yet completely rebuild the collection and items on the DPS, but it's my next step.

Anyone else having this problem with unreliable strange behavior with links to navto?

    Hey, Geoffrey;

Navto in DPS2015 links work much like the previous version, but there are a few differences.

Within a project, you will have a lot of articles, but the name of each item is unique. Navto://ArticleName will get you to the article, but the relative location where you come from and where you "nav would be-to" has an impact on your experience.

A navto of one article to another in the same collection has a context, so you can drag the previous or following in the collection items.

But if you navto an article that is outside the collection, then there's no context for all navigation drag (you can only go back). So a navto an article outside the current collection is a little like walking into a cup bag - you must leave the way you came in.

Some related commands navto work, and there is info in the HELP system: https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-solution/help/hyperlinks.html#create_goto_links _to_custom_icons

The significant passage in the HELP article is in the first section, third indent:

    • If the destination article is located in the same collection that section that the user displays, typing the link opens this article as part of the collection. If the destination article is not in the same collection, it will open in a State that is not bound to a collection, with no article left or right of it. Users can use the navigation bar to return to the original article.

    HTH;

  • navto does not?

I just added a few buttons:

    On the release or tap

    Go to URL

navto://relative/first (to go to the first article)

navto://current#next (to go to the next article)

navto://current#previous (for going to the rear for)

but when I saw no work on the content viewer. am I missing something?

    Thank you

The name of the article in navto must be the name of article in Folio Builder.

navto://ArticleName#0 or navto://ArticleName# - the first page to ArticleName in Folio Builder

navto://ArticleName#2 - the third page to ArticleName (article pages start with the number 0)

How many items you have in your folio?

navto://relative/last - go to the last item

navto://relative/current#next - next page in the current section

Digital Publishing Suite help | Hyperlink and button overlays

If you view a section of the overview of the Folio Builder of Indesign button, you won't be able to move between items. Try either using preview of Folio Builder on the folio or for the best results on your device (iPhone or iPad).

  • 'Navto' link broken on stimulus

    Here is a strange...

I have an index article where I use the "navto://ArticleName#2" to access specific pages in the various articles. When I download the app on my iPad to test, the index works as expected; Click on the buttons to jump to the correct section (chapter) and the page right within this chapter.

But, when I quit the application on my ipad and the stimulus, the index only goes to the correct chapter, but not on the right page. It remains only on the first page of the chapter? Any ideas?

It's a problem with the content viewer Adobe R27 version, but we have eliminated a fix to solve. Download the latest version from the iTunes store and things work again.

  • Is it possible to make a "GO DOWN" - button in a smooth scrolling page?

It is possible to make a button GO UP in a page to scroll smoothly AND in a several page article

It is possible to make a button GO to BOTTOM in a several page article (for example the button go to URL > navto://pagename#pagenumber-1)

But is it possible to make a "GO DOWN" - button in a smooth scrolling page? Perhaps with some sort of anchor point?

Yes, in the scenes, Smooth Scrolling items are divided into tiles, each tile is actually a page, so navto://articlename#99 will pass at the end of the article. You can even use fractions to jump to a specific point. See DPS tips > overlays advanced for an example.
