NB100-12 has a boot sector Virus

Hello

My netbook NB100-12 has seems to have a boot sector virus.
Basically, it works 10 minutes after startup.

I tried to reinstall Windows (XP Home Edition) by using the Winnt32 file but every time you start installation I get a blue screen with a STOP: 0x0000007b error message.
I'm not able to reinstall windows in any other way, because the laptop didn't have the original CD with it, and also it has no CD ROM
What can I do?

Thank you
Daniel

What?
Boot sector virus!

Did you come to this conclusion because the laptop turns off after 10 min of use?

How about other ideas such as a higher temperature, problem of RAM, etc?
Usually the laptop would freeze or stop in response because of the higher temperature
Make sure that the cooling modules are free of dust and make sure that the fans are not blocked during the use of the laptop!

Spybot has been a pretty good scan. I've personally never had much faith in Ad-Aware. Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware set standards these days at the malware scanners. Fortunately, in these times of economic stress, each have free versions.

Kapersky is certainly a good anti-virus software, but, as you noted, taxes can start to add up. I chose the free version of Avast 5.0. Actually, I would almost bet that if you have installed Avast and completed a scan at startup you would find additional malware. Be aware that you can not have Avast and installed simultaneously Kapersky. This applies even if it is temporary.

  • My laptop boot sector has failed. Installation DVD creation

    Hello

You will not be able to create a set of disks for installation directly from the recovery Partition - this need to be done via the apllication Recovery Media Creator of Windows.

It may be interesting to try to repair the following boot sector

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO from the link below.

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, insert the rescue CD in Notepad and restart at the start of it.  Select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

  • No boot sector on hard drive internal?

I got a Dell Latitude D610 with XP Professional pre-installed on a few years ago and it worked fine up until last month. I discovered that the hard drive crashed so I bought a new.

After I installed the new hard drive, when I turn on the computer to reinstall the operating system, I get the error "no boot sector on hard drive internal no bootable devices - strike F1 to retry Reboot, F2 for Setup utility"

Now, whenever I look in the BIOS, it is said that she read my hard drive. (40 GB HARD DRIVE) I know that the drive is empty and the OS installation disc has service pack 2 on it, but when I put the disc in I get the same error message. The drive, which I am using is a clean CD Windows XP Pro I had earlier.

I'm guessing that because the HARD drive is perfectly clean, is it not a MBR hard disk. I don't know how to get the disc to run and the diagnosis says that everything else is fine.

I am a student with a part-time job full time and cannot afford a new laptop or even an operating system for the moment. Could someone help me find a solution to this problem?

    OK, I solved the problem:

-J' have torn the XP Pro CD Image and stored on this desktop computer.
-J' mounted the ISO on my flash drive.
-J' took my laptop HARD drive
-On my laptop, I set the BIOS to boot from USB
-I reconnected it the HARD drive while the computer has booted the OS Setup
-J' reinstalled the operating system of the
-Download the drivers on the Dell site and put on another flash drive
-Install the drivers on my laptop

Now, it works fine. Like everything new again. Daavee and THIS_IS_INSANE, you two are awesome! Thanks for the help. x]

  • Safari has found a Trojan virus (e.tre456_worm_osx).

I thought that I was updating my flash drive, but apparently, instead I installed malicious software on my iMac.  Now, whenever I run Safari, I get redirected to a page that looks like it tries to be the Apple Support, but wants me call (and pay, I'm sure) to get this virus deleted from my computer.  I have also get this popup notice, "Safari has found a Trojan virus (e.tre456_worm_osx) on your Mac.  The site I'm headed to that is http://apple.com-systemnotice.com.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Don't go to the site. Download and run MalwareBytes. Malwarebytes was developed by one of our colleagues here to ASC. He received rave reviews and is on the more proven anti-malware for Mac software.

    Hello

Have you tried to check his status by using the Device Manager?

Might be useful to uninstall as a device, the search for the device and leave it then re install drivers XP, then re - start and see if that helps.

Let me know if this helps.

  • Cannot start. Don't get the error "no boot sector on hard drive internal.

Original title: computer does not load.

After that I turned on my laptop (windows XP) I get a black screen saying "no boot sector on hard drive internal" "no devices bootable-strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for installation; After pressing F1 displays the same screen and if I press F2 Setup screen appears and then I'm lost. Help please!

    Hi Jose_luna47,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?

    Method 1

I suggest that you perform chkdsk analysis on the computer to check and fix the errors on the hard drive by using the recovery console.

    Chkdsk

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307654

Description of the Windows XP Recovery Console for advanced users

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314058

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then you will need to check the settings in the basic input/output system (BIOS) and you need to contact the computer manufacturer for help with basic input/output system (BIOS).

Important: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • My computer has re boots itself after that it was off for about 5 minutes

Whenever I turn on my pc it has re boots itself after about 5 minutes, the standby icon is not highlighted more either.  Can anyone help?

Do you mean that when you turn off your PC, it will turn on again automatically?

I suggest you run a complete scan with:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

So what that it either detects and remove them.

Also check your BIOS setting, this is one of the keys F (F1... F12), during startup it will say that one is it or you might have a look at your PC guide (it's different in each system depend on the model of BIOS) and check if it is set to start.

  • No boot sector on hard drive

Hard to buy a new car trying to download windows xp and it came with. No boot sector on hard drive.

If it's a new hard drive, it will have to be formatted before it can be used.
Insofar as of the start of the LiveCD I guess 1) you have created the CD help to burn ISO to CD option and 2) that you have selected the option to boot in the BIOS (or the other make the first CD start or start at least temporary) to boot from the CD.

  • HP p6740f - error Code - BIOHD4 Boot sector corrupted/Not found

I have a HP p6740f running on windows 7 home premium 64-bit and I cannot start my PC. When I try to start my PC it tells me "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot media in selected boot device and press a key" but they do nothing. I checked the cables connected to the hard drive and the cable is connected and the motherboard are both closely connected. I put all my BIOS to default. I ran a diagnostic test and only failed when starting the test and received the code error BIOHD4 and said "WARNING: Boot sector corrupted/Not Found" and suggests that I have done a system restore and contact HP support. I have no CD recovery and when I try to run a recovery system on the start screen, nothing happens and sent it to me to reset and select proper boot device screen. Recently, I cleaned my CPU heatsink and the inside of my computer, but I don't think none of this have caused the problem.

Try to contact the HP Customer Service asking for the 11NA1MRW603 HP Windows 7 64 b + Supp 3 Recovery Kit to your computer. Meanwhile, download Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Digital River, a Microsoft hosting partner. Once downloaded, burn the ISO on a DVD to create a Windows 7 bootable disc. Now try to boot the disk and repair the boot sector of your hard drive.

  • Error adding mirror for Volume - size boot sector?

    Hello

I'm trying to set up a software RAID 1 on my boot volume.  When I click on "Add Mirror" and choose the other HDD there is a long pause, then I get the message: "all the disks holding the extensions for a given volume must have the same size of sector and the sector size must be valid."

Hard drives are the same and I didn't format or other of them.  How can I fix?

    Thank you!

    Chris,

Thanks for the reply.  I'm still confused: If the disk does not contain the operating system, why delete the partition of reserve would interfere with the ability of the computer to boot to the operating system drive?  Also, if the 2nd disc had a different file system than the first and I can create a mirror between the discs as they are, why can't create a mirror of the patition OS?  Is it possible to have different systems files on different partitions, and if so, why doesn't windows simply create a file system in the space unallocated during mirroring?  If this isn't the case, file systems must match or no mirror between readers would be possible, right?

    Thank you

    Steve

If you are wanting to use win7 software raid, IMO not a good idea, the discs should be dynamic, and if you see a partition reserves so clearly that the disc has been formatted previously
