NB200 - 10G: Wlan allowing using questions Win 7 and recovery

Hello!

I've read a lot about this with to turn on and turn off the wifi with the fn + f8 key in win7 and I tried all the solutions, but no one works,
I tried the new drivershttp://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/util_tvap_TC00214700F.exe PVAT, and even the new hw Setup utility appear not turning on wifi switch.
Is there another way?

And now to my other question, I deleted the partition of hard drive recovery (big savings) is anyway I can get a the recovery img file or more, I call support so that they send me a recovery cd?

Thank you

Hello
I have the same problem with the wifi FN key but also I noticed that FN + F6 and FN + F7 (bright LCD + /) do not work after installing the package with added value. Without adding value all the keys work (bright LCD +/-, volume +/-, the other is not).
Any solution for the FN key? It is impossible that I can use the FN if I change the operating system! Other laptops have this problem!
Toshiba what do you do?

I'll wait for suggestions.

Thank you

  • Question of rescue and recovery, and Client Security solution

I have a thinkpad edge e220s for home use and I am trying to understand that these two thinkvantage tools will be of no use to me since I'm not on a corporate network or whatever it is (all marketing materials HE mentions admins etc.).

Is the rescue and recovery just a backup solution with imaging of disk (as ghost)? I use a drobo for all my data storage, so I am not too concerned about backups as the drobo offers redundancy in the event of disk failure. The laptop has a SSD which doesn't have a lot of capacity if I don't want unnecessary tools that will have a lot of space. However if the rescue and recovery offers really useful features then I might consider its installation (and not using the backup feature). I could not make out what marketing materials meant by the solution of a single button for viruses and crashes.

Second, the client security solution features other than Vault/Manager password on my model? I'm already using the beta version of the new (4) version of password manager which is autonomous and requires no client security solution. Again once the marketing material does not help a user at home like me understand very well.

    Any help will be appreciated!

Based on your description I don't think rescue & recovery or Client Security Solution any value for you.

  • I had to use my system disk and recovery to all disc reinstall on my Acer laptop. everything works except the sound only comes out of the speakers

It is said that my speakers are working... but nothing comes of them. :( I was struggled with this laptop because it struck at 6 months. I sent in by Geek Squad in Best Buy, they sent and everything has been replaced inside. they gave me back with absolutely no work system. He was not able to load or anything. I've made repeatedly to get systems but they said I should go to Acer. I received the CD from the company and brought back the cds and the laptop to Geek Squad/Best Buy. The tech guy said that a fool would put a cd into a laptop computer and load it. When in reality it was really working. In recent days, I put the CD and discovered that we had finally got the right CD. Records of the system and the recovery disks, but I tried to listen to music and watch movies, but no sound. It bothers me because I tried to solve this problem for over a year. I'm hard pressed economy, and the need to understand this point before I go to College. I don't really have the money to buy another laptop.

I really hope someone can help!

  • P6055d Office HP upgrade disk question of aid and recovery (Pavilion)

Hello. It seems to have misplaced my pc recovery disc and I recently found the discs 1 and 2 (dvd). I forgot how many DVDs have been used when creating recovery disc. Can someone tell the number of recovery disks created using DVD for this particular model? As I said, I didn't find that 2 recovery discs and I don't remember really there's only 2 dvds.

Also, I'm upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 (Enterprise) and I intend to do a custom installation, including reformatting my pc. I currently have 3 partitions: drive C, the recovery partition and a partition for my documents. I was wondering what I would do when I'm updating because I'm worried that this will greatly affect my computer if I lose the recovery partition when I reformat my computer. You have an idea how I could copy the recovery partition on any other device as a drive so that I don't lose it when I upgrade to Windows 7? Note that this will be my first time change my OS by myself.

I hope I am making sense here. I hope someone can help me here. Thank you!

Lose the recovery partition is not as big a deal as determining if the recovery DVD set is over. Usually the recovery partition does not work after changing the OS anyway for most people just delete it during the installation of new.

Some systems take only 2 while others take 3 so no way to determine if your are done without having to start with them to see if they do a complete installation. Copy of the recovery partition rarely ever works. best is to test recovery set before moving to the new operating system. Save your documents on external hard drive before launching the recovery discs!

  • Use 'restore factory of Rescue and Recovery' to upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit windows 7

I have 6 GB of ram on my Lenovo SL410. It runs win 7 32-bit.
Windows shows that it is capable of 64-bit.
Can I use "restore factory Rescue and Recovery" to perform the installation of win 7 64 bit?

    Thank you

Your recovery DVDs are listed here:

    http://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-SL-series-laptops/ThinkPad-SL...

I guess if your recovery partition factory is win 7, 32 bit, it will restore win 7, 32 bit.

You can order the win7 64 bit DVD for about $50 US recovery.

  • I bought a HP Compaq Desktop System used ny. Back-up/recovery files were deleted. ------I have no disk to re - install Vista now what do I do?

I bought my HP Compaq Desktop System used.  The backup and recovery filed had all been removed.  Needless to say, it crashed, HARD.  I have no file or a disk of re - install, what should I do next.

    Hello

    "It is your only hope."

Get the HP recovery discs isn't your only hope.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Satellite L305-S5920: Question about PC card, new use HDD & Win XP

I recently bought this machine in the mail and on arrival was disappointed to see that it is not equipped with a Firewire plug - I thought that all the machines which had today? Too bad, I thought I'd use my PCMCIA Firewire card. But then I found that what looks like a standard PCMCIA socket has a block to halfway down on one side which prevents a normal PCMCIA card being inserted. Snookered. What is this decision? Not one of my PC cards will go in.

I then tried, had always been my intention to replace the 160 gb HD with a new 500 GB it and install XP on it. It's a very long story, but it culminates at Toshiba telling me that "this model will not work XP. Someone at - it ideas how to get around this problem?

Either way, I don't seem to have all the means to re-establish a new HD Vista if/when this one fails. Am I expected to go out and buy, or I missed something? There is no "recovery partition" on the hard drive so there is no way that I can produce my own recovery disk.

I then tried to play a DVD, to be told that it was the wrong region and could not be played. Quite absurd to place this restriction on laptops - I live in two Americas and Britain - but once again so much worse, I'll just load AnyDVD and continue nevertheless. But no - the carpet * a drive mounted by Toshiba is one of the few that cannot be decrypted.

Therefore this machine, which works well in its own design constraints, is nowhere near what I wanted and expected it to be. Can someone suggest a solution to all of the above questions? Because I already ordered a different brand which according to me does not have these limits, but it would be useful to keep this as a spare if I can fix it.

    Hello

First of all, I doubt that there is some design flaws
Akuma has already said, there are devices that supports different standards.

In any case, for the first I recommend that you check this Toshiba page we:

    [Satellite L305-S5920 - details-| http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2241928& rpn = PSLB8U & modelFilter = L305-S5920 & SelCategorie = 3 & selFamily = 1073768663]

You will find here all the details on this model Sat L305
In the detailed specifications, you can find the info that this laptop uses the Express Card slot (ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54). You must use Express cards instead of PCMCIA cards!

You can also install the Win XP I n know not why, someone said that you can not do this strange however, you can install the Win XP and I found XP drivers too! Please visit US!

The recovery of HARD drive partition is placed on European models of Toshiba. I put t know how it works on Toshiba WE series (perhaps drive HARD recovery is not available on laptops in the United States), but perhaps you need to create the first recovery disk in order to recover the laptop to factory settings.

    Greetings
    Jimi

I have ultimate edition (eternity) win 7.
He let me to use during 30 days three times use "slmgr-rearm" to extend the trial period.
Hereby, I can use and update.
    I have two questions.
    1. is legal to use "slmgr-rearm" extend with period?
2-may I have reinstall win 7 and use it for 30 days after the expiration date (29 days)?

    with speciall thank you

original title: Reinstall windows 7 ultimate

According to the software Microsoft Windows 7 license, you must activate Windows 7 within 30 days of installation.  You are not allowed to circumvent or bypass the product activation.  After 30 days, you must enter a genuine Windows 7 product key for the edition you have installed, or remove Windows 7 by reformatting the hard drive, on which it is installed.

In addition, you must respect Export Basics.

  • NB200 - 10G - how to upgrade the BIOS?

My question may be already answered after reading the posts on this topic. If someone could clarify, I'd appreciate it.

I bought my wife a NB200 - 10G and she had problems with the battery power. I followed the advice here and changed some of the settings, but not the update of the BIOS. My question is that the BIOS version is 1.2 the available update is 1.6.

Does that mean I can update 1.2 to 1.6 in a step or are there several steps to perform. ?

    Thank you very much

    Terry

    Hello

Akuma is right. You have to download the latest version of the BIOS (1.6) and start the update. This update contains all the fixes from previous updates so it of not necessary to install the previous updates too.

But before you start the update, connect the AC adapter. Disable all programs running (also, antivirus, firewall, etc.) and make sure that you are logged on as administrator.

    Good luck!

    Hello

To be honest I don t understand what you mean exactly with Wi - Fi, but have you tried to update the BIOS and driver WLAN? The two you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

What OS do you have exactly? Run you to the factory settings or other OS?
You should try preinstalled the operating system from Toshiba

  • Questions about privacy and security when you use Safari for Windows

I have Itunes + Quick Time Player installed to download music and some time ago I had the opportunity to download Safari for Windows.  I used it a few times, just out of curiosity, and I noticed that it is much faster than IE7, so I plan to use it regularly, but before that, I have a few questions:

-someone at - it tested (or uses) Safari for Windows, and what are your results?

-What is save to use as Firefox or Opera, both recommended as alternative by our experts at the HijackThis forum?

-the programs that I installed (Online Armor firewall, AVG 8.0 suite, MBAM with protection in real time enabled RogueRemover Pro with immune protection enabled, WinPatrol, SpywareBlaster) offer the same protection when you use Safari for browsing?

Thanks a lot already for your answers, Advisor or thoughts on this issue.

  • Can I use my Win 7 Pro Upgrade to upgrade my laptop running Win 7 Home?

I bought the Windows 7 Pro upgrade before realizing that I had bought the wrong upgrade to what I had on my computer. I ended up having to buy a Win 7 Home, then update to Win 7 Ultimate, so I could keep all my programs in tact. Now, I'm about to get a laptop. If the laptop has Windows 7 Home installed, can I use my Win 7 Pro upgrade for the version of Win 7 Home upgrade? If not, what version on the laptop do I need if I can use my already purchased Win 7 Pro Upgrade? There is no other computer autour who can't use my upgrade, it seems, because I ordered the version of 64-bit operating system, so I guess that laptop must have an operating system 64-bit as well.

Anytime Upgrade using year already bought Retail Pro/Ultimate key

In Windows 7 Home Premium, type Anytime Upgrade in search programs and files box on the start menu, and then click the Windows Anytime Upgrade.  From there, you can enter your product key of Windows 7 Professional/ultimate retail and perform a simple upgrade. All programs and files will remain on the computer, there is no drive necessary and it takes about 10 minutes.

Well, you can use your current license and install a program from the virtual machine and install your Linux distribution you want in the program of the virtual machine with Windows 7.
