NB200 - how to turn on with lid closed?

I want to fix the netbook on an external monitor and external keyboard and a mouse. in any case, is anyway to turn on the PC without opening the lid?

Thank you

Hello

I think that's not possible. You can connect only on the laptop using the hardware switch!

More why you close? You can use the internal display as a second monitor. I do the same thing with my mobile phone ;)

  • How to set up an external monitor to display cell with lid closed?

    Hello

I want to configure my new two external monitors to function as an extended desktop MPB lid closed, but am not clear how. What I see as I type this now is the screen MBP as usual, the external monitor to the right has the image of the desktop from my laptop but nothing else, and your screen to the left with the Yosemite stock to the image of the Sun and nothing else. They are connected by a Targus docking station, I guess that properly since both are alive and well.

What I would do with lid closed is the screen to the left of the screen MBP and see right monitor as an extension of the left. I tried to close the laptop to see it would automatically migrate to the left monitor, but it does nothing.

Your help is appreciated in advance.

In system/display Preferences, you can set to mirror or extend.  https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT202351 if this does not work, you might have a problem with your connection.

  • Qosmio G50 overheats while working with lid closed?

If I work with the lid closed (i.e. turn on with the remote control) so that I just use two external monitors, the G50 will overheat or like other portable dockable, it's a very happy job like that?

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Why the Qosmio overheating?
I want to say I put t see a link between overeating and closed or open lid

The cooling fans are placed at the bottom of the unit and the air clear on the portable side so it s is not serious if the lid has been closed or not

    The laptop should not overheat

  • Qosmio G20 - 108 awakening with lid closed

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G20-108 with BIOS 1.2. I've set a scheduled task in Windows to run at night and wake up the computer to do. This only happens when the cover is open, if it is not closed, the task is not executed. Does anyone know if the reactivation of the BIOS will work if the lid is closed? Update the BIOS to 1.4 make windows work power the machine on the lid closed?

On an unrelated note, where can you get information about what is in the various versions of BIOS? I'm not used to slapping just the latest BIOS on a machine if I have the problem, I want to know what is in the update, what are the features it has and what suits it contains! An hour to search the net and support of Toshiba pages and I cannot find a thing, except for the file to 1.4 real day.

    See you soon,.

    My current setup:

    • EVGA UV Plus + 39 vga box to allow setting up dual monitor

I have the following problem, I don't know if they are related:

    First question:

    • When I close the lid on my laptop, it stops. I expect it would display Desktop on my two monitors.

    Second question:

If I'm away from my computer, my screen become white.

    • I tried pressing the keys on my keyboard to wake up my system [does not]
    • I tried to open the lid: computer laptop screen is blank
    • So I have to shut down my computer, open the cover of the screen, and then close the lid and they press the button on my docking station to display Desktop to my two monitors?

Do you know what causes this problem?

    1. disable stop option for "lid closed" settings within the app Lenovo Power Manager (Group of event parameters).
2 could you be more clear. Please? Your laptop is going to sleep several minutes later (5? 15? same?) we let him? And you can not wake him normally?

do not know what operating system used on but in windows 7: Control Panel, power on the left-click options choose what closing the lid, then choose when I close the lid, you want to choose do nothing.  There is a setting for the battery and the other to power.

  • Re: Satellite L500D - speed wireless worsens considerably with lid closed

    Hello

The last 3 days have been nerve wrecking for me. I am the owner of a Satellite L500 D and at the moment, I decided to connect it to an external monitor, to enjoy a better visual experience, until I have buy a desktop computer.

Well, day 1, I had problems with the speed of the wireless connection (the laptop is related to the router via a wireless connection only). Physically, what I've done, it is simply connect the monitor to the laptop, while closing the lid, so it won't get in the way. And Yes, I had already checked the 'Status quo' feature in the desktop "when I close the lid of my laptop.

I went to a speed of 30 Mbpps to love... 1 Mbpps, or even less, so that it becomes almost unbearable for surfing the web, let alone to download all the files. After calling my ISP support line and a subsequent visit by a technician (he's even changed the router), we were convinced that the problem lied in the router, or disruptions in the connections wireless neighbors, microwave ovens, cell phones, that sort of thing. I even thought that the problem had something to do with my wireless keyboard/mouse set that might interfere with the connection because it uses the same 2.4 Ghz band range.

After spending a lot of time to ruin my head, I suddenly noticed how the speed would increase simply by opening the lid of the laptop. And the surprise... If I just lift the lid a bit (like 10 cm) above the keyboard, I hear a sound of 'connection' and therefore, the connection speed is always high.

Have you ever had such an experience? Is the antenna (is it located anywhere in the keyboard?) of the adapter that stops whenever I close the lid? Is it possible to permanently program the computer to have the connection all the time?
Well, it has been an experience painfully education

    Appreciate your comments/solutions

    Paulo

    Hi Paulo

We speak/write here on laptops and computers laptops are designed for mobile use and all of the material placed in the laptop is also optimized for mobile use. It is logical that wireless antenna must be placed in the book part where it can get better WLAN signal. Because of this key WLAN antenna is placed around the screen. When you open the display WLAN antenna is best placed to pick up WLAN signal.

If you want to use the laptop as the lace and desktop replacement by with closed side cover I recommend using connectivity LAN only or perhaps some external WLAN as WLAN USB stick antenna.

  • WiFi lost with lid down

Just bought a HP-15-G094SA laptop (laptop 15.6 "with Windows 8.1). Whenever I close the lid of the laptop, I lose the wifi connectivity.

I checked the power settings to make sure that the wifi adapter is activated permanently. Also went to control panel-> network and sharing-> adapter change settings-> right click on wifi network connected-> properties-> configure-> management power - > uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

None of these solved the problem.

I would use the laptop with lid closed by this pluggin thanks to my TV via a HDMI cable, but cannot because of the loss of wifi.

    Hello again Fil1404,

It is good to hear from you again!

Because changing the power settings in the control panel menu has not resolved your problem, I recommend you load the drivers software and hardware of origin provided with your computer. This can be done by following this document on the use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 8). To update the drivers newly installed, please follow this document using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8).

If the WiFi radio disables always after closing the lid, I recommended to perform a backup and restore of your operating system. This can be done by following this document on the backup of files (Windows 8), and more to perform a recovery of the HP (Windows 8) system. This should help get your system back to factory settings.

If the problem persists, please call our technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number.

  • Satellite 2450: How do I start the laptop with the lid closed (LCD).

I have connected the switch of power with cables and stretched it out and it works fine.

My question is how can I start the computer with the lid closed? Is there a switch that allows the computer to know when the lid is closed or not? Can I remove this? where is this switch?

This option can be disabled threw the bios of the computer and how?

    Any help apreciated

Well, you should be able to boot up your laptop in this way, but how to market? The power button on my laptop is under the cover.

And Yes, there is a kind of switch, which leave the phone know that the door is closed, but it's only important in Windows, it does not close or go on stand-by.

To avoid this, just set power options to do nothing on a closed lid.

  • HP Elitebook 8560w: screen using my 8560w with the lid closed and external

    Hello

I connected my 8560w to an external monitor via an advanced docking station.  My monitor allows me to switch between two sources.

I intend my set-up for my future office and virtually all that my activity will be on the 8560w and the monitor.

Can I run the 8560w for a long time with its lid closed without risk?  I was in Control Panel/power/choice what closing the lid does and all sleep on battery and nothing power are.

Is there a heat problem? Or other side effects?

    Thanks, Russ

It should not be unwanted problems to run for a while with the lid closed.

  • A degradation of the WiFi Signal with laptop lid closed

    I have a HP Presario DV6 running Windows 7 64-bit.

It has an Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter using the 8.0.0.172 driver Version dated 09/23/2009

I noticed that if I run the laptop with the lid closed there is a degradation in WiFi signal.  More specifically, with the lid open, I can see the signal from my router with - 77dBm, but with the lid closed this fall to-87dBm. (No other changes to the environment)

I checked all the power settings to keep the NIC power on with the lid closed.

This deterioration is simply a feature of hardware design and antenna site is there anything I can do about this other than get external USB network card?

    Hello:

I recommend that you only install the latest driver. Who can help a bit.

But the main reason why your signal degrades, it's because the antennas are under the screen. When the screen is opened, they stick to the top. When closed, they are ineffective, because the ends are oriented horizontally and lower (toward you) instead of vertically.

    Latest version of the driver:

  • ES1 - 512 hibernate if it is open, but not with the lid closed. LED will blink red and blue?

I want a laptop, when closed, to go to sleep, then transition to Hibernate.

When open, transition work. Race walk, sleep, Hibernate.

When closed, transition fails. Running, sleep (slow orange blinking), and then rapid blue/red flashing LED.
During flicker battery consumption is large and the battery goes dead quickly.

I have tried many power configuration settings.

Cover-> nothing or sleep - same results.

Cover-> hibernate - works, but is NOT what I want.

Button to Hibernate, but not what I want.

I want to do what it should - sleep and hibernation...

What does glitter blue/red LED mean?

OK, I found a workaround solution - with a caveat.

The xHCI driver is apparently in conflict with something that causes chaos when the laptop tries to transition from sleep to Hibernate with the lid closed.

This is definitely a bug that should be fixed! Acer needs to work with Microsoft to find the problem and fix it.

If you go into the BIOS settings (reboot and press F2) and disable xHCI.

The USB ports will return to PCI mode. All USB ports are working, even if I think they are USB 2.0, not 3.0

Now the power level can be set to sleep when the lid is closed and it will cause a transition to Hibernate when appropriate!
