NB200 - starting problems

Hello

I have a NB200 and I currently have problems with getting the computer to boot to Windows 7. The problem seems to be that the laptop is not recognizing the hard drive every time, second, when it does I boot recovery which requires a restart and then the computer does not appear regonise the HARD drive. The computer was slow very before that happened. He started with a blue screen and is gradually degraded to the point it's at now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can you more in detail if not necessary not quiet sure what information is useful at this time.

Thank you very much

Hey Buddy,

For me it sounds like that, the hard drive is faulty and must be replaced. Normally it takes always recognize properly after each reboot.
But it would be interesting to know what you are doing if the HARD drive will be more recognized. You turn off the computer or what exactly?

Is your laptop under warranty?
If so I get in touch with an authorized service provider and ask the guys for help. They can check the HARD drive and replace it is it of necessary. That's no problem for the guys and the warranty repair is free. :)

    Method 2
    If the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.
    I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.
    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Win 7 intermittent starting problems

    My wife birhtday, I bought a new desktop PC 500-281 HP Pavillion through Win 7 clips in July of 2014. Intermittently the machine hangs at startup. Usually, he gets to "Starting Windows" screen and freezes, windows logo is not launched. When I shut off and restart, usually the screen asking if I want to start windows normally or start the Startup Repair utility. Should I choose one of these options and the machine works very well, sometimes I can shoose an option and the machine hangs again. Startup Repair shows no problem. When I'm on Windows I ran antivirus (AVG, McAfee, bitsMalware IO) analyses all upward with no problem. The machine is connected to ethernet (not wireless) a of the USB connections and: mouse, keyboard, external hard drive WD, printer Canon, Logitech webcam. All of this worked well on the old box. I have checked/updated all the drivers for external and all devices are updated. I checked the BIOS and Windows Connection Manager is the first start. This is a report of start-gel 60/40 at the moment and it happened that the staples of 14 days return policy. Any advice? My wife is extremely frustrated! (as a result so I am!)

    Hi Bob,

    I would test equipment (systems and components) to restarting your PC and pressing "ESC". A defective material is usually behind on a new PC erratic behavior. Despite a software driver problem which is very unlikely, component, causing this type of symptom can be the power supply. This point of failure (power) is not detected using HP diagnostics. If material tests pass and this isn't a software driver problem, through the process of elimination, it can be the power supply.

    In the start menu select F2 and run diagnostics.

    If all tests pass, try to use the PC with HP supplied only devices (mouse, keyboard, and Ethernet connection) to see if the system stabilizes.

    Let me know how it goes. We can try additional troubleshooting if the advice above does not help.

    Finally, you need to maybe to back up important data and do a factory restore. Then, run the system without installing any additional software and only HP devices connected.

    Always start problems? Now is the time to contact the HP Support.

    My new NB200 does not display the toolbar when it is started. This is where, I think, because if I click madly under the visible screen sometimes there is a reaction. This seems to be a problem of screen resolution. When the system starts, windows theme is distorted, as if the resolution was for a larger screen. Hello

    To be honest I n don't know which toolbar you are talking about. Maybe you can try to explain that she even more detailed.

    Are you running the factory settings or you have installed another OS? In my opinion, you should try to reinstall the NB200 with factory settings. After that, you have a clean OS with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. Everything should work well on the laptop again. :)

  • Mac Pro start problem

    I have a Mac Pro Tower, that will not start the first time I press the power button, the machine "lights up" in a way that the light in front comes on and I hear a click, however the fans and readers do not engage and the screen is blank. I am then forced to hold down the power button until it stops and hit the power key once again, and each time on the second time it starts. Now I use this equal parts of Mac on the Mac partition and equal parts as a PC, this problem appears when I start in two, but I put in this detail to explain another thing, I have a PC graphics card in the computer. I have all his own CUDA Driver Version that allows me to do it on the mac, but it might have something to do with it. Even if the problem persists when I have my Mac AFI graphics card in the computer as well. I also want to add some other details, nor the mac from the PC partition can go in "standby mode" or the computer goes back to be a brick with just the front light on. (Sometimes the LED keyboard works, and sometimes is not after the mode 'sleep'). In addition, if I restart the computer, it starts well the first time, as well as when I move from mac to PC partition. I tried to do resets of LANDAU and SMC and that has not worked, someone at - it ideas?

    Thanks guys for any input you may have.

    The next time that you touch inside, try to carefully remove the 3 v button cell half hidden behind the graphics card and check the required 3 Volts. If less, a new is needed. You can also use CR2032, which is used for the remote control-door garage and car-door-key original is BR2032.

  • Satellite Pro U400-13 a - starting problems

    I have a Satellite Pro U400 13A running Windows XP Pro and have startup problems.

    The computer was working well until that last Wednesday when I modified the settings of advanced management power in how he reacted to the closing of the lid [hibernate] or pressing the power [on hold] button. Then, I closed the lid that I had to leave in a hurry.

    About 2 hours later, I opened the lid to take what I was doing and to a complete stop, but I got a partial summary leading to a bluescreen with the logo "XP" just to the right of Center and no home screen or directly in the Windows desktop as expected. Then, the computer does nothing.

    Pressing ALT + DEL shows that both operations are underway - "Windows logon" and "Connection", but the selection does nothing.
    I left the computer up to 6 hours, in the hope that it was a lengthy process that prevented it go further but still the same blue screen rest.

    I forced a shutdown by pressing the power and then restarted in the start menu [Safe Mode etc.].
    According to the boot option I then select [I tried all the] bothers me on the same position that I started with - blue screen with "XP" logo.

    Seems you have to reinstall new OS.
    If you don t have disks or functional HARD drive recovery option, then I would recommend ordering the disc from here:

  • Re: Portege 3440CT - starting problems

    I received a Portege 3440CT by a former colleague. It works under Windows 2000. She has not used in more than 5 years and can't remember what the password was. I tried to log in as administrator with a blank password, but the password has not been left white (grr) so basically I can't cross the password prompt.

    Shouldn't be a problem - there are a lot of Internet password recovery tools. I did a disk using this one here: http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/ intending to boot from the disk - there is a brand USB Toshiba external floppy drive.

    HOWEVER: the Portege stubbornly refuses to do. The boot order is set to try the FDD before all other options; I manually told to boot from diskettes; There is no ignoring me and Win2K boot from the hard drive. Would be very grateful for any ideas!

    I do not have:
    a reader of CD or DVD for laptop;
    a network connection or internet on it, as far as I know;
    disk recovery or installation of Windows;
    anyway to start Windows without knowing the password.

    I have:
    USB flash drives / external hard disk drives;
    The installer of Ubuntu (although on a CD, so useless without a CD player?);
    other computers.

    Wipe the hard drive is a solution I'd be happy to see if anyone can advise me on how to do it - there is nothing important about the laptop that should be retrieved.

    Hi abi278,
    first of all: what do you think?

    -install a new os on this machine?
    -use the operating system installed?

    get rid of the operating system administrator password:
    -install the drive in another system and run norhdahls supertool > read each line which is given! It is able to check the registry to another hard drive as the boot device.
    -make an installation of xp on another machine, sysprep this installation and change drive hard back
    -install the drive in another system and make it bootable with back, copy the source files for the system of desires and run the installation after you reinstall hard drive to your ct 3440

    Maybe you need a special player to install...

    BTW: nordahls disc resets passwords * inside * your operating system - read the manual of this powerful tool.

  • Toshiba NB200 - startup problem (Windows XP) - unable to access safe mode

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba NB200 with Windows XP. When I turned on, it would not start past the first screen and I couldn't make F8 safe mode.
    The only thing I can do is go into the BIOS Setup, and that's all (press F12).

    The BIOS recognizes the hard drive. Then, I created a USB stick to boot from and that made me a C: quick MSDOS having first changed the BIOS to read the USB first and also updated the BIOS (Phoenix v1.6).

    I'm not clear as to what I do then in the folder c: prompt will not let me run windows and shows just the files on the USB key.
    Should I copy the files from windows to the USB port? In addition, how will I know if the hard drive has failed and that it is unrecoverable (I hope not)?

    Any guidance welcome!
    Thank you

    Hello

    Eventually, there is no Windows OS on the HARD drive and therefore you can not start safe mode or the OS.
    You have a recovery disk or you did backup the image of Toshiba on the USB flash key?

    If this isn't the case, then you need to reinstall the OS of the own Windows XP CD.
    You could build a clean Windows XP USB flash stick that can reinstall the OS.
    I think that this should be possible since you started the laptop backpack.

    Here's a nice instruction how to do this:

  • NB300 - Windows 8 start problems

    I have recently installed windows 8 on my Toshiba NB300 and everytime I turn on the computer with the power button, the computer turns off a few seconds later.

    Only on the second attempt Windows 8 starts normally, giving me the indication of an error.
    This happens the first time I turn on my computer with the power button.

    How did you install the 8 Win?
    You've improved the Win 7 to 8 Win or you did a clean installation?

    It might be possible that some pre-installed drivers or tools are not compatible with Win 8 and therefore, there is a problem when starting.

    Hi Chris,

    It is possible that this notebook you trying to boot from the CD rather than the hard drive. Check in your BIOS settings to make sure that the boot order is correctly specified as HD first. I would not recopmmend change the hard disk at this stage, since it would mean having to restore your system from a recent backup (if you have a) or re-installing the CD recovery.
