NB550D - replace the RAM or HARD drive without voiding warranty?

Hello!

I noticed, that generally, Toshiba users replace their HARD drives and RAM memory without voiding the warranty.

But I'd be happy to get official confirmation if NB550D netbook.
Can I pass without problem, my material in this model?
If it is relevant, I'm of the Poland.

Thank you in advance!

Hi dude

Since it is only a user to user forum you will get no official confirmation here
But you're right. The RAM and HDD Upgrade or replacement will not void the warranty.
These pieces are extensible, and as much as I know that is mentioned in the user manual.

Greetings

No, the mandate must still be valid.
There is a removable cover at the bottom of the unit as shown here:

  • I can't recover my system (DV6000) using recovery discs after replacing the card mother/HARD drive

I have a DV6408nr (windows vista Home premium) I had to replace the motherboard and hard drive. When installing the new motherboard (same part No.: 443775-001) and insert the recovery (bought from HP) discs that I have, I received an error message stating that the PC could not be recovered using my disks. The serial numbers on the label service and in my bios do not match. When I entered the serial number of my bios in HPpartsurfer, he said that the system is a DV6449us. I already checked my RAM and HARD drive is brand new/not formatted. I used these recovery discs (manufacturer: 483905-003/483906-003) successfully before on other flags of DV series. Is there a reason why these discs should not work on two motherboards in the same system with these similar specs? What should I do to get my system recovered?

The number of the motherboard and other show information in the bios of the new Commission?

The numbers do not match the recovery disks or information is missing in the bios.

If it's really a mismatch, then you will need to find the good recovery disks or use a Dell installation disk operating system and use the product key from the sticker on the laptop to get activated, and then manually install the drivers.

If the bios tattoo is damaged or missing information only a used HP Center can then fix the tattoo.

  • The RAM and HARD drive upgrade

    Hello

I put my laptop, at level

    8.1 Windows 64-bit, Intel Core i7-4700MP @ 2.40 GHz

    Currently 12 GB of Ram - 8 GB & 4 GB Kingston DDR3

    Currently 1 TB Toshiba HDD
    http://storage.Toshiba.EU/CMS/en/HDD/computing/product_detail.jsp?ProductID=409

I'm looking to upgrade the 4 GB of RAM to a 8 GB, I just don't know how many pins each room has. Any guidance where to find this without disassembling the machine would be very handy! -I think it's a 204pin?

Also looking to add a second hard drive on my machine, what is the maximum size that can take this laptop? Ideally I'd like an another 1 TB HDD (same brand) than my current. Is this possible? Then the hard drives of 1 TB overprinting two system?

EDIT: Is it possible to have the other as an SSD? Although that can't really benefits to have as a slave instead of a master drive.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    Manual - Page 2

    Plug

RAM: Yes, 204pin SODIMM SDRAM desired. You can buy the memory stick to the exact configuration & preference even brand that is already installed on your computer laptop & listed in the service manual, so that it works correctly.

Configuration of the RAM: 8 GB DDR3L 1600 MHz PC3L-12800 1.35v SODIMM SDRAM

Run this tool to know the configuration & Details of RAM already installed.

Page 51 details the procedure of replacement, fairly simple.

HDD: According to the manual, it has double drive HARD support. You can put another 1 TB 2.5 inch 9.5 mm SATA HDD. You can buy additonal material of hard drive Kit (HP PRTs number: 720237-001) to install on secondary Bay for data storage.

I would have preferred a faster 7200 RPM HARD drive with the cache higher like this , if you want more storage.

Alternatively, you can replace the current HDD with SSD of similar form factor (2.5 inches SATA 7 mm or 9.5 mm thick) and make as boot drive by moving the drive toward SSD HARD integer before replacement & put old HDD to secondary storage Bay. SSD would defintely thrust upward performance drastically, but they are expensive - I would say worth the cost.

Page 48-50 details the replacement procedure. Its relatively simple to do.

  • Portege 7220cte: I want to move the RAM and HARD drive

    Hi all...

I read on the internet that the 7220cte is particularly picky about his type of RAM.
    I want to improve it with an extra 256 MB. (From what I have found he needs a 16chip of low-density extra-flat 144pin sdram PC100 16 x 8)

I can't figure out if it's just the PA3051U that is compatible or PA3069U is good as well (seems to have the same features, but its a little cheaper)

    http://UK.insight.com/apps/Productpresentation/index.php?product_id=KTEA020E2&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-E3-_-KT-_-KTEA020E2&src=FRO1
And it will be good for example?
    http://www.laptop.co.il/products/41331

How does one know if she has available to low density 16 x 8 or another, if she did not mention the specs? they say only PC100 256 MB Sodimm...

I found a few PDF Toshiba with the list of the original expansion, only the PA3051U was listed... that's why I got scared.

Also I would like to add a hard drive, nobody knows if a drive of 80GB 2.5 "will be compatible with the bios... ?

    M a n y t h a n k s...

    Hello

First of all, please note that the Portege 7220CTE memory can be improved up to 320 MB. The laptop supports the 64 MB internal memory. This type of memory is fixed and cannot be removed or upgraded.

There is only one slot for expandable memory, and you can put max 256 MB module.

I found this site which provides the module for Portege 7220CTE specifications:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5388&ft=m&St=3

As you have already said that the laptop takes supported modules SODIMM 144 pin PC100 and in my opinion each strip memory SODIMM 256 MB 144-pin PC100 must be compatible.

  • Replace the UCS - b2xx HARD drive

We have a UCS with blades B200.

One of the HARD drive led STATIC amber, (it is a HARD drive failure according to the documentation), but UCS Manager did no show any alert.

My first question is... I see not awake in the UCS Manager? I have to turn on any kind of follow-up to the HARD drive?

The HARD drive was reflected with RAID 1, then why has decided to install a replacement.

We extracted the defective HARD drive and inserted a new (because they are Hot Swap we did with the server on).

But now the UCS Manager is showing the HARD drive as a disc UNKNOWN, so he did not recognize it

We rebooted the server with no luck.

What should I do any kind of procedure of the UCS to recognize the new drive and rebuild the RAID 1 mirror?

    Thank you

    Hello

Which firmware version are you running?

In versions prior to 2.0, we had has very little followed HDD and reports. The status UNKNOWN to the driver after installing a new is also due to a bug known in versions 1.4 or previous.

If you see the normal LEDs on the disc, then you know that the re - build is finished, you can also restart the blade and enter the optional ROM of LSI, and check the status of the drivers.

  • a1140n flag replacing the SATA II HARD drive?

SATA II disks can be used to replace a SATA drive failed in the above desktop machine?

The specifications for the machine indicates SATA, but I'm not sure the new II will work in the system.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes that correct, there is no reason why technical SATA-300 (SATA II) will not work in the system SATA-150. Like most BUSES and protocols, the specifications call for SATA-300 to be backward compatible with SATA-150.

I read this somewhere a bit backwards: the HD is not reach anywhere near the 300 MB/s transfer speed which can be able to SATA-300 interface, test to see the

    up to 35 MB/s - 135 MB/s for non-RAID drives and up to 225 MB/s for readers RAID0 configuration. 150 / 300 MB/s is SATA ports

maximum transfer rate, not the maximum hard disk transfer rate. This means that the port can handle up to this number transmittions,

but this does not mean that the hard drive can achieve this goal.

If the faster hard drives can only max to 135 Mbit/s it makes you wonder why SATA-600 is developed. I would get a HARD drive with the largest affordable cache on this subject.

I just upgraded my Macbook Pro, Mac OS X 10.6.8 with a new SSD.

I'm not sure how smooth my original OS X HARD drive worked without error, then rather than using Set Up Assistant and the Migration Wizard, I made a new installation of Mac OS X on the SSD. Now I want to either individually to bring all the apps to the SDS or more favorably, to put a new installation on the SSD.

If I try to install just the CS6 my uploaded install software, I suppose that he will ask the serial number. As far as I know I can install the CS6 on two separate personal computers. I want to save my second option for the iMac I want to buy later. So, how can I make this installation on the SSD drive?

And, as soon as I did the installation, I will continue to work for the SSD, but who still want to keep the backup HARD drive version until I don't know that the new SSD works flawlessly for a few months.

Did you find another Satellite L70-A-xxx model on the page of the Toshiba UE driver?
I imagine that you didn t.

You'll find drivers choose L70 - A short numbers and additional satellite as PSKNEE, PSKN2E, etc.
At the bottom of the unit, you will find a label providing different numbers.
There is also a number something like this: + PSKNEE-00D003BT +.
It's _Model_ part number and in this case to get the drivers, you need search satellites L70 - A PSKNEE.

Hope you know how to search the drivers now.

  • 23 - f270: RAM and hard drive one device?

    Hello

I had recently a hard drive has failed/bad in my computer that was just out of warranty, so I took my computer to a computer repair man who said he could replace the old/bad disk with a new one.  This man didn't really hold up to the end of his contract, and now I find myself in a dispute with him as he always has my HP PC and he gave me a lesser Dell as if to replace.  Now, I contacted the office busniness better for resolving this dispute.  But it is now trying to claim that he gave me the HP drive hard and RAM unit.  This man gave me was a rectangular metal box telling me that it was the old bad hard drive.  So what I need to know is are the hard drive and RAM in this a model room?  I need proof that if the RAM is not present, he was the one who pulled it and sold it.  They only gave me one of the components of the computer, and I would like to know if the RAM and hard drive are one or two pieces of sepearte?

    Hello

RAM and hard drive (HDD) are two different things. Your machine has 6 GB of RAM, which means it has 2 sticks, and 1 TB of HDD (1 unit). His record:

  • SL 410 Upgrade ram and hard drive

    Hi all

I have been using the 410-2842-rk1 model Lenovo thinkpad SL for a year and a half.

    No problems until now

I want to upgrade the RAM and hard drive of this machine.

At the time of purchase, I had seen that I could improve up to 1 TB of hard drive.

Please guide me if I can or not.

About the RAm too, I need assistance (maximum limit I can update)

    Thanks in advance...

You can switch to a 1 TB HDD providing it will fit physically. They are more hard are 9.5 mm thick but some hard drives of 1 TB are 12.5 mm thick. If you get a 9.5 mm HARD drive then it will work. Readers of 12.5 mm is too thick to fit.

Regarding the RAM, you can install up to 8 GB of RAM, which is 2 x 4 GB.

  • How to switch my system on a larger hard drive without having to reinstall the OS and lose my data?

    replace the hard drive

I'm looking to replace my hard drive but I need all the files it is about it, passing a small hard drive to a larger hard drive. My question is how can I save all the files on the disk and how can I get the operating system on the new hard drive without the original disk

If your current system does not work, there is no need to bother with data backup, installation of applications and get a Windows XP installation CD (although regular backups are important to do as a general practice).

Instead, clone your current hard drive to your new hard drive.  All you need is an external hard drive enclosure and disk cloning software.  In addition, once you have made sure that everything works correctly, put the old drive in the external box and use it for backups.

Some of the cloning apps below are also disk 'images' (e.g. Acronis True Image).  A disk image can be compressed so that, for example 58 GB of data can produce a 40 GB image file.  Some of the apps, and of also can selectively backup specified files.

The housings of external drives more to connect to a USB port.  Make sure just that buy you one with the good 'form factor' (portable = 2.5 inches, computer desktop/Tower = 3.5 inches) and internal drive connector.  Many but not all speakers can deal with SATA and PATA time.

This example (for laptops) is not the less expensive external hard drive enclosure, but it's a decent case that can be used with either SATA or IDE (PATA) drives and comes with its own software package of cloning: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817155602

It is a very good buy for a drive IDE (PATA) Office size: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817155602

In general, Newegg is a good place for your search options by looking at the comments by users.

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a version of Acronis True Image free of WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get the software of cloning separately (this is not an exhaustive list and in no particular order, some are free, some not):

    Acronis True Image Home
    EASEUS ToDo Backup
Paragon Drive Copy or Partition Manager Personal
    Casper
    Norton Ghost

    XXClone

    Macrium Reflect free

  • How to put Windows 7 on the new hard drive without boot cd? How will I know if 32 or 64 bits? This computer yourself running windows 10?

    * Original title: windows 7 download

I have a laptop dell M4400 with windows 7 pro OA. HARD drive crashed and I replaced with a new one. How to put Windows 7 on the new hard drive without boot cd? How will I know if 32 or 64 bits? This computer yourself running windows 10?

It has probably comes with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

You can download a copy of Windows 7 Professional using the following instructions (update of Microsoft recovery software supports downloads with the COA key):

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

You can also use Windows 10 too as you have the right to it as a free upgrade:

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • then I just remove my hard drive without crashing the system

I just back up files on the HARD drive. There is no system files or programs on it. Can I remove and replace it with a bigger memory HARD drive, without crash the system?

Yes, you can remove the HARD drive without crashing the system by closing the PC, unplug the power supply from the socket and then remove the HARD drive.

Please note that the physical HARD disk is different from scores.

Hard physical HARD drive or disk drive is the hardware component for storage. The capacity varies.

A HARD disk cannot be used directly when it is connected to a computer, that's why storage units with file tailored to the needs of the system to create, known as partitions.

A partition can be a complete HDD (for example, if you have a physical HARD disk and you have only one partition C:\) or may be more than one partition of a physical HARD disk (for example, if you have a HARD physical disk and two or more than two partitions, such as C:\ and D:\).

Therefore, you can check for the exact physical HDD and then remove it. To do this, you can go to the computer-> storage management. Check the link for more information:

    http://www.7tutorials.com/how-manage-your-disks-using-disk-management-utility

This will show you the number of physical drives present in your PC and the partitions present in each HARD drive. So, once you confirm the HDD backup and partition (make sure that there no Windows installation, as says iFuton), you can shut down the PC, unplug the power supply and then remove the HARD drive.

[Please note that you have nothing to do in the management of the computer, except to check the partitions and hard drives (denoted as disk 0 disk 1 and so on for disks hard physical as well as the corresponding scores appear accordingly)]
