SSD would defintely thrust upward performance drastically, but they are expensive - I would say worth the cost.

  You can switch to a 1 TB HDD providing it will fit physically. They are more hard are 9.5 mm thick but some hard drives of 1 TB are 12.5 mm thick. If you get a 9.5 mm HARD drive then it will work. Readers of 12.5 mm is too thick to fit.

  Regarding the RAM, you can install up to 8 GB of RAM, which is 2 x 4 GB.
