  Does anyone know how to fix the contrast on my front screen where it shows the ink levels, time? Two lines disappeared shortly after I got this printer and it is sometimes difficult to read ink levels when the level is just where these two lines are missing. These two missing LCD lines go all the way across the screen from left to right. Thanks for any help.

  Looks like the LCD screen is broken.  It is really not that you can do to solve this problem.  Really only three things I can think might fix.  One is an update of the firmware.  To get/check the firmware, click on this link, select your operating system, click Next, under step two click firmware in firmware, click the link and on the next page, click Download.  Run the utility that downloads and it will check the firmware and allow you to update if it's outdated.

  If the firmware doesn't fix it, the next step is going to be a hard reset.  Just, a hard reset Erases RAM on the printer, but retains all of the user settings.

  To do a hard reset:

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  2. Pull out the power cord from the printer.
  3. Pull out the power cord from the wall.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Plug everything high and trun on the printer.

  If the hard reset does not work, the next thing to try is a partial reset.  A partail reset will reset all the settings of the printer and return the printer to factory setting.

  To make a partial reset:

  1. Follow steps 1 through 4 above, but will not go past step 4.
  2. Plug the power cord into the wall, but connect are not in the printer.
  3. Press and hold the # and 3 buttons.
  4. While maintaining the 3 and # buttons, taken the printer back in.
  5. When you see lights up, release the buttons.

  If the partial reset doesn't fix it, it won't be fixed.  I'm sorry.

• With the help of objects with one fill to cut through another

  Sorry for clumsy description in the subject line. Do not know how to look for a solution to this, but it's probably pretty simple.

  This is Illustrator CS3 on Mac. Everything is on a single layer. I used the white alterations forms to fine tune black objects below. I would like to meet constantly so I can be left with the black forms (for a color simple screenshot). Is there a way to 'collapse', objects and constitute an Illustrator to eliminate white? I tried everything in the Pathfinder palette without results I'm after.

  a number of questions arise that I see your design:

  1. you send the file to someone to be "silkscreen"?

  2 - is any vector art?

  3. print the gray background?

  IF the gray background doesn't print - delete.

  IF all vector art - make sure that white objects are NOT defined for a recovery - make sure of course black objects are really black and not a RGB or CMYK build.

  IF you send files to someone ' one - after doing what I said above - save as PDF - using the parameters of "high quality print".

• How to cut text through several objects?

  Here is exactly what I'm doing:

  I have a graph of blue that I superposed horseshoe a purple on Ribbon.  On the Ribbon, I typed 'Celebrating 40 years.' I want to cut this text through the Ribbon AND the Horseshoe in order to make transparent and has the color of the white background without having to actually use white as the color.

  After searching online, I thought that I thought about it. I selected the text and converted to outlines.  I selected it and the part of the text Ribbon was on and is gone to the pathfinder and less before.

  It worked partially. The text essentially cut through a layer and partly taken from the background color white. However, the Ribbon graph has dark purple corners where it folds which still shows the text that sits above it AND the part of the text that was still on the blue Horseshoe now showed through in blue.

  How can I get the text to cut through all this is on top of. I tried to select all, then the text as outlines and the hit before, but this does not work. I'm certainly not a pro Illustrator all the instructions step by step would be much appreciated.

  You can just use black direct Type (no need to describe) on top of all that you want to cut through, and then select all of the items whose Type (celebration of 40 years) and in the Transparnecy palette dialog box click on the opacity mask to do with two Clip and mask Invert unchecked.

  You might also get away with just using white Type, which means no impression, but the reverse is safer, and you can see what you have found.

  I'm working with multicam images and whenever I try to play through my sequence... Nothing happens. the play button said his cheek in my player, but my time bar remains and nothing plays.   So I think I solved the problem with playing... First do not like when you have too many nested sequences and multicams. I have deleted a large part of my blocking sequences and the few that I've kept now play fine.

  Your objects punch must be in a large group; It will cut through all that is below.

  Create the shape you want to cut and set it to black Uni. Select your group and your form and (in the transparency palette), click make mask.

  Uncheck the Clip, and then return to the palette.

  I have this vector image of a man and a brain. What I'm trying to do is to separate the upper part of the head from the rest of the body and tilt it so it seems that the brain will come out. I tried everything I can find on how to do it. When I use the knife tool to cut a straight line, nothing happens and the Scissor tool won't let me not even to try it, it comes with an error message. I tried tutorials on separation forms, but those are all simple forms like a rectangle. There are 4 forms (on each side of the face and hair) that I need to cut through. I have tried with them together, and with them removed.

  It looks like those are degraded meshes. They can not easily be sliced (try using the executioner Mesh plugin).

  You can try using masks. Make a copy of the image and the mask and then half of the image in each of the copies.

  You want to set up the same way and make an opacity mask inverted.

  Select it $ and jpeg format with the $ on top can be the living text in case you need to change in pounds or euros.
