  I installed Windows XP in my SATELLITE L40 - computer 17R laptop but my modem is not connected, my Device Manager shows tthat? (!) MODEM DEVICE ON HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO BUS, where I can get driver appropriate to do this, I wouldn't find in the TOSHIBA Site. Please help me.

  I think I'll start with basic information;
  Laptop you seems to belong to the series of PSL4C;
  You must choose this series if you download the drivers;

  On the other hand; If you use XP on this unit, you will need to update the BIOS to the XP version.

  Last but not least I found the compatible modem on the Toshiba driver European page for this series. That is why I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to use the modem on Win XP.

  As far as I know all the drivers on the support page are tested, and I can't imagine that you can not install the modem driver. I'm 100% sure that you did something wrong. Please check if the downloaded driver is the right one.

  I can't believe that! Have you checked the page European driver of Toshiba?
  I chose your laptop Satellite A100 PSANN series starting from the download form and I found the XP modem driver. Again, where is the problem? The XP modem driver is available for you.

  I think you should also take a look at the installation instructions document.
  You will find a driver the installation order that is important!

  Hi guys

  "Unknown" is listed in the Device Manager, I guess that's the modem because no modem is listed in the Device Manager or connections. So I downloaded the driver modem XP Toshiba Web site but does not. Then tried the XP 9000 modem driver, no joy tried 9100 2K driver, still no joy all the info I've found points to make it a Toshiba driver made so I'm stuck. Although 1 site suggests that perhaps a Scopio Agere, tried, but has always failed.

  Anyone know where I can get the modem for a laptop Toshiba Tecra 9100 XP driver please?

  Are you sure that the modem is an unknown device at 100%?
  I found this document Toshiba how to identify an unknown device:

  Unfortunately, all I can suggest to check the page of the Toshiba driver drivers or you check tools and Utilities CD for the drivers.
  The other possibility is to use the Toshiba Recovery CD to recover the operating system.
