    Hello

It would be unwise to try to start without antivirus/antispyware are has just too many real threats and
methods for malware to attack the system. If you attempt to do if of course you have redundant and
    current backups.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leave the file system, Web,.
Operational network (Script and behavior are also recommended in Ver 6 +).

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 6.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 6.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

  • is it decent software anti malware for osx 10.5.8

I think there's malware on the iMac. It is a G5 with osx 10.5.6. I go down to drop windows in Safari, kind of randomly, who says that Safari cannot identify a particular site, and I want to go? I always click on leave. Tumblr or something as it is one of the sites - the other mentions adware, I think.

Does anyone know anti-malware that I can use with this iMac intel os and pre?

    Thank you

You may need to consider TenFourFox browser because it is updated.

Safari is not. Four of the 10 Fox is a mozilla derived from generation customized for Mac PPC.

You can choose a different browser as system by default in Safari preferences

This is a way to bypass many of the problems with obsolete Safari. I've seen

is no evidence in any of my two Macs on the G4 (10.5.8) adware or malware running.

It is the TenFourFox for Mac PPC browser homepage; link to note G5 edition:

    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

And if market 10.5.6 download the Combo update to 10.5.8 Leopard.

For Safari in Mac later, there are suggestions in the following article on adware

and this may seem like malware. I had no adware or malware in my

Macs PowerPC G4; There may be instructions in the manual on how to search for songs of

suspicious content in this support page. Avoid products such as AdwareMedic

or malwarebytes anti-malware for Mac because it works in later Macs intel who use OS X.

  • Stop Internet connection malware and Anti-Malware software

Hello! I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that I use to the work of the College, as you can imagine, I have a lot of important information about this. That being said, I probably should be more careful by browsing the internet, but I have unfortunately seem to have fallen for a 'Java update' Malware thing and have successfully infected my laptop by malicious software.

After reading a few recommendations online, I downloaded MalwareBytes Anti-Malware free and he ran. It is is immediately detected the dangerous Malware and gave me the ability to clean my computer from harmful programs. After he cleaned my computer, it restarted and opened upward.

Not only does the Malware not go far, but it got worse: as soon as the screen is turned on, a bunch of windows appeared, with statements such as: "accountsd wants to use the"login"keychain." & "com.apple.iCloud.Helper.xpc wants to use the"login"keychain". These windows do not disappear when you press Cancel, and I'm afraid to put a password in while my laptop is still affected by the Malware.

Second, none of my browsers will connect to internet. Google Chrome is no longer loads all pages and now often needs to be force-leave out. Finally, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware won't open and it immediately passes "Application not responding" when opening.

Can someone please help me with a solution to this problem? It would be greatly appreciated.

If you have voluntarily or involuntarily exposed your computer to potentially dangerous software, you should consider a backup of your system and a reinstallation of the operating system as no single or multiple scan of your computer can completely provide an accurate assessment of what has been allowed to infiltrate your computer.

  • If you use Firefox to connect to facebook, I get a message on the download of anti-malware programs. How can I stop this?

A few days ago, I tried to connect to Facebook to play games, chat and so on. After filling in the username and password, I get a message telling me it looks like I have malware on my computer and I need to download certain types of anti-malware program to clean my computer. This only happens when using Firefox. How can I get rid of this? I tried to remove and reinstall Firefox. I ran two major anti-malware programs that work on my laptop. If it is a legitimate program from Fb, I would like the option to refuse. I did not have the choice. I can connect to Fb on Google Chrome without problems, and so I have to conclude that this is a problem with Firefox. Any ideas? I tried to contact Fb, but so far there has been no response.

If you get a pop-up message asking to put plugins or Firefox updated or anti-malware analysis then this message probably is a scam and you should never respond to such reporting to avoid being infected by malware.

    • Don't update Firefox via "> about" or by downloading and installing Firefox from Mozilla and server never using a popup or a link on a web page.
    • Plugins should be updated only through the plugin itself, or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

You don't need to anti-virus; You may need a way to Remove the malware once it shows itself.    Generally recommended here is Malwarebytes which is a free download for Mac users.    You're more likely to attract malware if live you microsoft links.

  • Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool vs Malwarebyte Anti-Malware

Explain the difference/other services/conflicts between Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and Malwarebyte Anti-Malware.

I currently use Anti-Malware in conjunctgion with KIS 2012.

    Hi RW,.

Not precisely.  I say that the Windows Firewall is perfectly adequate, and I don't know any others that provide better protection (but others may have more options of configuration or bells and whistles, some will offer essentially equivalent protection, and some are not as good as Windows Firewall).  Of course, some will say that there are some firewalls that are better than the Windows Firewall, but is no longer a subject of debate and discussion than anything I saw firmly and convincingly demonstrated.  And we know that the Windows Firewall works properly with Windows and other Microsoft products and has great support.  And I never heard of software conflicting with the Windows Firewall, I heard things regarding 3rd party brands - involving mainly browsers, e-mail programs and security as well as configurations of network programs (not just internet, but internal intranet, you can have in your home using cables (, wireless routers/modems, infrared devices, bluetooth, remote deskop (internal or external) devices if used parental controls, interfaces with the security at home and/or surveillance systems wireless devices such as printers or scanners or fax machines and other similar things).

Remember, without a firewall your computer give to anyone trying to access the system through any network or remote connection via the ports.  There are several ports, most average users never need.  The firewall blocks essentially all ports except those that are specifically excluded.  That's where you come in.  Each has a default list of excluded ports.  You must go through this list and remove all exclusions that you know you don't need (and be sure you KNOW what you have blocked before deleting the exclusion).  Each exclusion represent a hole in your security that an attacker could have access.  The less the better.  When I came through the list, I probably cut just a little less than 50% of registrants - but I cut some I used but rarely I would have rather the firewall blocks and make the extra effort to unblock port temporarily the few times that I need to leave open at all times.  Although for Vista, this article will help you understand the basic concepts of http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Firewall-frequently-asked-questions.   Attention to the last on the list because it provides links to other articles where you can get better and more information that can help you to choose and decide.

I'm not going to argue here, since you have already the product and more.  This isn't what I would have chosen, but it is probably one of the best on the market suites and much, much better than some other choice, you could have done.  According to me, that it will probably do the job.  Quite simply, I don't know how good it is the Firewall works because I've never used this before then.  It may in fact be just as good and offer more features, or may not provide the same level of protection or cause any problems or conflicts with other programs or with your network (depending on how you setup).  I do not know.  You bought the suite because you wanted more features than just anti-virus protection.

I think you can guess what I personally would do, but I can't advise you on what to do here - it's your software, your computer and your decision to make.  Don't forget that you can always disable the firewall in KIS and activate Windows Firewall (or the reverse), once you choose.  This comment in my post was directed at all the recipients and I didn't change it to you specifically - I mean not that it appear as more accurately you invites to spend now that you have already bought another product.  I was trying to say to people in general, he was no need to spend money on a separate firewall when the Windows Firewall has been excellent and would do the job perfectly well.  However, Windows Defender does NOT provide adequate and afflicted an antivirus program protection must be added (that may or may not turn off defender during the installation) to be sure.

In short, the decision is yours to make.

I hope this helps clarify things.

    Good luck and best wishes!

I'm the administrator of this computer and logged as administrator for I can make adjustments if there is. Please tell me there is a work around this UAC *! I tried to create a new task in Scheduler task but that only removes the pop-up menu when the start and I have to manually restart the real-time protection module every reboot. Hello

    ·         Are you can change the Security Center service parameter by using a different user account on the computer?

I suggest you to make sure that Windows Defender is running. Follow the below mentioned articles and check.

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Method 2: If the method above is not enough, then I suggest refer you the link try the steps and check if that helps:

How to perform an upgrade on the spot on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 & Windows Server 2008 R2

    Note:

You can back up data to an external hard drive and no CD. It is essential to back up data even if you do an upgrade on the spot.

If you are using the original computer and the new laptop image, you will need to purchase a product key to activate the copy of windows installed on the laptop.

    or
It is possible to move to a screen, enter the key that I buy and update the operating system with fancy Microsoft anti-spyware, anti-malware + tools anti-virus to make sure that the computer has not all threats runs hidden in the background?

Best to do a clean install (full version) you can never be 100% certain that you have removed all malware.

Don't purchase just a license key but rather get media as well (never know when you'll need it). I'll give two options, so you can decide on a key and download file (.) ISO) or the product in a box with the media and the key.
