  I bought Acrobat Pro XI about over a year ago. Windows has been altered a virus, so I had to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows again and all my programs. After installing Acrobat Pro XI, I presented my serial number, but it did not work. When Adobe left a message advised me to get a new serial number in my Adobe account, but there is no serial number in my account.

  You need a backup solution to ensure that you can recover your system or files on your system. EaseUS Backup is one. Macrium Reflect is another. They all have two free versions. You would need to check the characteristics of each to determine which one is best for you. I use Macrium Reflect and I love it. It allows to generate a startup failure of your hard drive version.

  This version is too old to qualify for a swap of platform.  If you have a license Mac and a Windows machine, you're stuck pretty well.  Anyway, here is the link to the version 9... You should check if they have a Mac download...

  Adobe does most support the installation and use of Acrobat 6 because it is a very old version that is not compatible with Windows 7.

  I suggest you to please use the latest version of Acrobat 11.0.10 is perfectly compatible with your operating system with its functions and improved functions.

  A 2012 MBP has SATA 3 connectivity.

  If you want to install a new HARD drive, the best approach is to clone the new from the old HARD drive.  It will duplicate the original HARD drive which has likely El Capitan installed.  I suggest to use Carbon Copy Cloner to the process.  It is not free, but worth it because you can use it to create a backup disc drag.

  Please note that you can open PDF files using only the CD player. Any other format will not be supported by the software.
