• I need help to get Dreamweaver to recognize html and php files and htm files.

  I have a site legicy and it is prohibitive to chane the names of .php file. So I try to get Dreamweaver cs5.5 to interpret the htm and html files that are including php.

  I'm under XAMPP as my test server.

  I have the index.htm file and it displays all of the links as broken and will not work in live mode view with php includes. However if I rename .php file the file analysis correctly in dreamweaver.

  Is there a work around that?

  I was able to get the host to work Web site by editing the .htaccess file to use this code, but it does not work in Dreamweaver.

• Vista will not start. Verifying the integrity of system files and repair has no ErrorCode = 0 x 2 HELP PLEASE!

  ASUS PC, Windows Vist Home premium, all updates.

  Out of the blue, it will not start.  Access the start scrolling (the one just before logon) screen and it just stops.

  Twice I ran Vista check utility.  The first time, I chose to do the system restore to previous state.  Restarted.  Always off.  The second time, it took much longer and from what I can see.  All TESTS PASS, except one:

  Result: failed. Error code = 0 x 2

  Time required: 6206818ms

  I get no blue screen, I can't even any screen!

  The test fails (SFC) checks for corruption in the files on your system.  If she can't even complete, she suggests the Vista all system needs to be re-installed - but you have already done this and you still have the problem.

  In fact, look like a hardware problem.  Here are some troubleshooting guidelines hardware that can help (but probably not for this question as what you really need, it is a replacement for test):http://elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot.  Frankly, I think it's time to take the system to a repair facility of good reputation for the service computer (or to return to the manufacturer for repair - costs, schedule, guarantees and make a decision).  I don't know what hardware component.

  If you can, try to back up your data before you import it it because they will probably wipe the drive clean during the process. You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (perhaps done on another computer).  This should give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to backup your important data.  Otherwise, try slaving the drive to another system and access the data in this way.

• Need help w / easy to update and recurring elements

  What would be the easiest way to create a header that when I need to change or update that changes will be made universal throughout the site? (For example adding/replacement of the sensory buttons or update a logo. The header is a table with pieces sliced Photoshop) that would be helpful with some other recurring elements of the site. I'm a little fuzzy with CSS I depend mainly on the design mode. This is probably a simple solution I'm not find in my book, because I don't know exactly what I'm looking for good research.   IMO, the biggest drawback to the templates and library items is that you must republish the entire site whenever changes are made.  With SSIs, you change a file and put in the server.  Voila!  Job done.

  Inclusions on the server side are only excerpts of reusable HTML code for the page of shared items such as headers, footers and menus.  No great mystery to really use.

• Need help with the advanced file Type changes

  Somehow all my folders of changed files option.  Instead of the folder when you click it, it opens the search.

  I know where and what to change, just do not know how.  Under Tools > folder options > file types, I select "files" and click "Advanced".  Of course, it says 'find '.  I click on 'new' under 'action', I type 'open', but what should I put under "Application used to perform action:"?  It won't let me not leave the field empty.  When I looked to see how it was done in 'file', 'edit' is gray.  I tried to look on other computers, but everyone has Vista, Vista doesn't even have a tab "file type" under folder options and I couldn't find it anywhere else.

  Even if you don't know the answer, if you could look to see what it says on your computer and let me know.  Like I said could not find on Vista, I am running XP.

  Yes, I know that I can do a right click on the folder and open it, and that's what I do.  It really happened to be a pain in the you-know-what.

  I have MANY files duplicate on my, new to me, the laptop. Including but not limited to photos and lower costs.  I would like to delete all the duplicate files and other unnecessary junk files and I could use some (a lot) of help.   Use Bing or Google to find 'duplicate file remover' or 'duplicate file finder' - there are several dozens of utilities that can do it for you.

  Then, it's probably time for you to go to a good independent store (place of type no BigBoxStoreUSA or geeksquad) computer repair.  If they think they can reinstall Windows, ask them to back up your data (files, photos, music) first.  Ask them to tell you the consequences of reinstalling Windows before they do.

  You should be able to open the file in Internet Explorer or another browser that you use http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/aspx.  If it does not open, you may need to set the file association.

  You may need to add aspx for file associations.  Do so right click on the file and select open with and then select Choose default program.  Select among the options provided, or if your browser is not listed select Browse and search the executable program for your browser (you should be able to get a hint by a right-click on the browser shortcut and selecting Properties and then look at a target).  Make sure that the default program.  Then the file should open in the browser.

  Can someone help me to reassign my data partition? I was trying to dual boot my computer with windows 8 and linux, but I failed miserably a year ago. I moved it in this space of 22 GB which is WAYYYYYYYYYY to much space for these files, which require that... ? 1000 mb or more? Anyway. I need help this hot mess of fixing. Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it. I know virtually nothing about it. Perhaps someone can guide me on how to fix everything by using linux?
