  • Re: Need driver XP SATA/RAID for Satellite Pro U400

    Hi all

I've searched and searched, but I can't for the life of me find suitable driver to install XP on my machine. It came pre-installed with Vista which is useless to me because of the instability, bugs, just be a poor OS. I got the new laptop for a week now and have not been able to use again, so it would really appreciate someone pointing me in the direction of SATA/RAID drivers for XP.

    Thank you!
    E.g.

    Hello

The Satellite Pro U400 needs a SATA driver, and you can find it in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager package.

This storage manager can be downloaded from the European driver Toshiba page (see the series of portable different) or you can also download it from the Intel site.

The SATA driver must be installed during XP Setup process. You must press the F6 key to include a 3rd party (SATA driver) from the external USB floppy drive.

If you don t have a floppy drive, then you could create a clean XP CD with SATA driver. NLite freeware software can be useful for these jobs

My advice is; Google a bit for nLite for more details.

  • Satellite Pro C660-234 - need info on SATA connection

What connection between the HARD drive and the motherboard are inside: SATA II or SATA III?

    It depends on the chipset.
This chipset is part of your laptop?

As I'm not mistaken the chipset could be the Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset

According to Intel ARK page of the Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset supports SATA II (3 Gb/s)

  • Satellite L30-10 X - need sata\raid drivers for Windows XP

Need to install the drivers sata\raid for windows XP. Laptops Satellite L30-10 X. Please tell me where I can find it.

    Hello

Normally, you find that the SATA drivers in display driver package which you can download from the official website of Toshiba... Usually they are placed under the screen driver\SBDrv but I downloaded it and t SATA driver file is :(

What you can do is download the driver of another model, perhaps Satellite L300D or similar model.

An alternative you can install Windows XP compatible mode. Go into the BIOS, HDD AHCI mode to the compatible. Then, you don't need a driver.

  • Need Driver SATA RAID for Windows XP on the Satellite A200-17O

    Hello world

I bought a Satellite A200-17O. It came with Vista and I want to install XP... but every time I start installation it says "no HDD found". A friend told me, that I need a SATA RAID driver for it, but I can't find some. Can someone help me?

    Hello

I think that you don t need a SATA or RAID drivers, but the Intel Matrix Storage Manager
I found this on the page of Intel:

  • Slow 3ware SATA RAID 9690

    Here's a strange.

System Specs: ESXi 4.1 with updated oem.tgz for drivers of 3ware, Biostar TA890FXE, AMD Phenom II Black 3.2 ghz, 16 GB RAM, 3ware 9690SA-4i (with battery), Intel 1000GT, boot USB Flash 4 GB disk

I have two data warehouses using the same 1 TB SATA Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB disks:
    (A) 3ware 9690 RAID-5, 4 discs, total capacity of 2.73 tb (2 to & Go 730 Lun, images of comments, primary storage)
    (B) SATA AHCI, 2 disks total capacity 1.81 to (2 x 900 ~ to ISO and random storage Lun)

When the copy of the RAID to the standard SATA drives, it is doomed fast. But SATA in RAID, the speed is ridiculously slow. It seems to take easily 10 x as much time or more when copying very large files.

I noticed when I went to copy all my files and images of comments to a data store while I reformatted with a larger block size. Then the copy to roughly 400 GB from A to B, it took less than an hour, perhaps as little as 30 minutes. New B in A, it took 6 hours when I dropped.

In addition, I have a little bit of reference tool called Parkdale who made drive simple comparative analysis in Windows and have some real numbers to go with my comments in ESXi.

    Option A with SATA RAID = 2.6 MB/s write, 73.7 MB/s reading (Win Server 2003)
    Option B with SATA AHCI = 111.1 MB/s write, 108.1 MB/s Read (Win Server 2000)

There is certainly something weird here. Any ideas on how to test, what to look for, or what could be the problem?

You may need to activate the write cache. It wouldn't be activated without the battery. Some controllers to activate the cache because soon the battery is attached and responsible, but not all.

  • Advice on the Sata Raid Controller

    Hi all

After a months long test of ESXi 3.5, now I want to configure a more robust system based on a Dell SC 1420, but with an updated Sata Raid Controller to level.  I need to choose a mid Sata Raid controller price (£120 - £150) but I'm worried about compatibility.

Can anyone recommend a Sata Raid which will give good performance and is supported with ESXi 3.5

I don't want to change the configs and others, even if other people seem to have made this summer with success.

    Dave

Go to www.vm-help.com. (Awesome site of Dave M) You will find a whitebox HCL it as well as Sata controllers. Note that these llisted are not supported by VMware, but have been confirmed to work.

  • Satellite A200-1 g (PSAECE) Win XP. Need drivers for SATA HDD and GeForce 7300

    Hi all.
I would install XP instead of Vista on my note. As far as I know, XP has no builtin for SATA driver. I found no drivers for GeForce 7300 on the toshiba Web site. So I need drivers for SATA HDD and GeForce 7300. Where can I find them?
    Thank you.

    Hello

Why must you SATA XP drivers? You are not able to install XP because the HARD drive is not visible?

With regard to the nVidia drivers:
It seems that the A200 notebooks were shipped with a different hardware configuration.
Some laptops come with the Intel GPU and some with nVidia graphics card.
The Intel GPU driver is available on the Toshiba page.

Graphic driver nVidia can be downloaded from the site Web of Toshiba Canada or 3rd sites like www.omegadrivers.net or www.laptopvideo2go.com

  • W540 Option SATA (RAID or AHCI), disappeared after the update of the BIOS to 2.05

W540 20BG001CGE, had 1.05 BIOS and RAID 1 with two 840 Samsung 1 TB EVO works well under Windows 7 - x 64. After the reboot (and load defaults, disabling Intel Rapid Start, boot to BIOS option change the legacy of all first... I recognized the SATA (RAID or AHCI) in BIOS option disappeared. At boot time Intel Matrix Storage Configuration doesnot appear (where you can create RAID etc.).

Startup then displays message "missing operating system".

Downgrade BIOS 1.05 impossible, due to ISO file on www.lenovo.com support is not compatible, system message "Lenovo Group Limited - disc system not valid." Replace drive you and then press any key")

Also the downgrade to BIOS version 1.08 found here http://www.notebook-driver.com/detail/thinkpad-driver-id-22182/ doesnot work CD also messages "Lenovo Group Limited - invalid system disk - replace... »).

Rewrite of the BIOS version 2.05 (GNET57WW) doesnot work (says "BIOS update is not necessary").

Anyone has a suggestion of what to try next? Someone has a tip how to recover my RAID controller?

  • ESXi 5.0 U1 could be installed on a SATA drive, but can't the SATA RAID

    This is the case:
My physical server includes the Intel series E5-2600, Intel C600 (A for SATA) chipsets.
In the VMware ESXi 5.0 Update 1 Release Notes, I find his support for chipsets Intel C600 and E5-2600.

So I want to confirm if ESXi 5.0 U1 could be installed in my machine.
In my test, ESXi 5.0 U1 can be installed with a SATA, but not SATA RAID drive. (Installed by CD)
    What's wrong?
    Waiting for your help.
    Thank you!

Another feature that is missing in ESXi is caching block... So if you buy a hardware RAID card choose one with a battery to use the cache policy writing and write I/O faster.
