  Does anyone know a work-around to get a HP deskjet 825c printer works perfectly under Windows 7 64? Right now I have installed as the generic printer, facsimile and am he hate.   That's what I did people and it worked perfectly for me. In a 64-bit Windows 7 Pro 32 system, I have connected my printer c 825 and Win 7 found the device, simply attach a driver! ... If you goto Start - devices and printers - not less I see my device C 825. Now if you get to this point and then the only thing for you to do is goto the Top of the devices and printers click on add a printer - select ADD a local printer, use the existing port - USB001 or USB002 (depends on how many usb devices you have - usually the last one is the one for your printer because I guess you just connected it if not try usb001). Now the installation of printer driver window appears. On the left, select HP to manufacturer (don't select Hewlett-Packard) and then more right under printers, select HP DeskJet 830C / 832c.  If you do not see the HP and only Hewlett Parkard or found no HP Deskjet 830c / 832c then you need to click on the button at the bottom that says WINDOWS UPDATE. It will take a while... (I have a fast computer and it took a full 45-60 sec to update the list of printers), now, try the steps again before continuing. The rest of the steps are easy... Just then hit... Make your default printer? -YES, and then print a TEST PAGE - select. This series of steps worked for me, but let me warn you that I only use the black cartridge on my printer, I hope that after reading that someone try the color appearance and give feedback if it worked! Many blessing to all who find it of value. And remember if you take knowledge plse somewhere sometimes - somewhere a little of your knowledge to others... then how can do this world starved of money a little better place to live! • Cannot print anything in color, except for the ink-jet printer test page

  All prints black and white with the exception of when I print a test page for the printer itself (Dell v313).  Had no problems with it.  I called Dell and they want $129 to 'fix' my Windows problem.  No errors.  Have full ink cartridges.  Also recently installed drivers and firmware for the printer, thinking that might solve the problem.

  Method 1:

  Alternatively, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers and check.

  a. Click Start. In the start search box type "devmgmt.msc", and then press ENTER.

  b. expand the "Printer", double-click the entry for the device.

  c. click on the "Driver" tab, click "Uninstall".

  d. Click Start. In the start search box type "appwiz.cpl", and then press ENTER.

  e. remove all entries related to the network card.

  You can check the Dell support to address following link and install the latest version of the drivers.

  There is no support of Windows for your model, and there has been no full support for XP. If the printer is not recognized and Windows Update can't find anything, you will need to buy a new printer...

  While you might be able to put in place by installing the virtual machine (Orac; e/Sun Virtual Box) software or in Windows 7 XP mode, the best bet for the long term is to replace the unit.
