need stop synchronization before finishing to avoid ipod classic remove

I've updated to itunes version 12.5.1, as well as Windows 10.  If I let my ipod classic finish syncing, everything on the ipod is removed.  So I have to restore the ipod in disk mode so that itunes recognizes the ipod and avoid itunes gel settings.  I found the only way to keep my music is to stop synchronization before it ends or the entire contents of the ipod is removed, and I'll have to go through the process of restoring ipod to factory settings again.  During synchronization, I disable the Windows 10 firewall and anti virus as Apple support told me that it could interfere with itunes.  What is - this with the finishing of sync that removes my ipod?

It's weird...  Hard drive it is possible to the iPod becomes unreliable and is damaged during the synchronization process.  What happens if you set it up to only synchronize a small number of songs, instead of "all"?  For example, on the settings screen of music from iPod in iTunes, rather than choose to synchronize the entire musical library, choose the option to synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres, and select only a SINGLE album.  These songs always get deleted at the end of synchronization?

I've been renting movies from iTunes and their synchronization iPod classic for years.  Yesterday, I rented a movie in SD like I always do, plugged my iPod into my Mac, clicked on the iPod when she appeared in my iTunes menu after he was connected, went to the movies, moved the movie rented to my iPod and click sync.  The movie settles on my iPod, the synchronization process lasted about a second, and then the film moved immediately to my Mac.  I thought there may be a problem with the movie, I downloaded, so I rented another film in SD and it's the same thing when I tried to move it to my iPod.  Until last week it never happened to me before.  Anyone with similar problems?  Thank you.

I guess that there is enough free space on the iPod...  You don't get an error message?

If all the songs on the iPod (and other content) are stored in your iTunes library, you can do a restore of the iPod using iTunes.  This erases the iPod, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings.  If there is data corruption on the iPod that causes this problem, restore will fix it.

  • synchronization does not work on ipod classic

    Hello

I have an Ipod Classic, but the last time I tried to recharge the battery with a usb cable, a message informed me that a restore is necessary. I restored the ipod and suddenly I couldn't sync the ipod with itunes Gallery more. Exactly, when I try to sync the Gallery, I can push the button but the itunes message is "synchronization is complete", but no track goes to the ipod. What is going on? The iTunes version is 12.0.1.26 and the OS X version is 10.9.5. What can I do to really perform the synchronization?

    Thank you very much.

    Marco

If you do a restore, current iTunes sets the iPod to use the parameter manually manage music and videos , by default.  If you want to use automatic synchronization, select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

Check the box to Sync music.  This enables automatic synchronization.  Below, if your library complete iTunes music fits on the iPod, choose the option to synchronize the entire music library.  Click apply.

  • iTunes 12.3.1.23, iPod Classic and Windows 10: can synchronize once, then needs to restart

After the upgrade to iTunes 12.3.1.23 I am more able to synchronize several times. I have to restart if I want to sync again.

    Shows Device Manager:

right-click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver shows this:

    Windows 10 1511 64 - bit * iTunes 12.3.1.23 * iPod Classic 160 GB (7th generation)

Norton Antivirus by chance? This seems to cause problems for some.

iTunes uses the Service iPod for iPod classic rather than the Apple Mobile Device Service. The message may be due to an old version of 32-bit AMDS not removed, then the 64-bit version was installed. You can try to remove the current driver to see if the right pair will then load. Otherwise complete a tear down and rebuild iTunes may be in order. See the second area of the resolution of the problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

  • I'm told my iPod classic is not compatible with the latest version of iTunes and I need to buy a new iPod

I have an iPod classic, 160GB, 2009 (I think that I bought in 2011, but they say it's a 2009 version).  I took good care of her, and it worked wonderfully for me.  Recently, with the latest updates of my OS, iTunes, etc. on my MacBook, I got the iPod synchronization problems.  This last time I tried, the iPod has not been recognized by iTunes, or it would be recognized and switch between connected and synchronization, but never go further.  Finally, if I left it long enough that, it would eventually be sync, but then he would go back and forth between sync synchronization, connected and finishing.  After leaving he did that for a while, he would finally come with an error message saying that the iPod could not be synchronized.  Then my iPod was erased at all to this subject (everything is always on my iTunes at least library).  I tried to restore my iPod, which she did, and then synchronize everything again.  He went through the process of synchronization, only to say in the end could not be synchronized.  Sometimes my iPod not even be recognized by iTunes.

So I called Apple Support and they told me that my iPod software is not compatible with the iTunes software.  Both were up to date, so I think I 2.0.4 on my iPod and 12.3.2.35 on my iTunes.  Apple told me that I can't go back to an earlier version of the iPod software because I have no iPod backups on my iTunes.  Therefore they told me the only solution is to spend $ 400 on a new iPod, which I can't afford to do it, nor have you I feel it's a reasonable solution, since my iPod is perfectly good and I was very careful care of her.

Is there anything that can be done to make the two compatible?  Can I download an older version of iTunes?  I'll be able to get my most recent iTunes library on the older iTunes?  Should not continue making it compatible, the iPod classic and iTunes since so many people use iPod classic, and they are the only thing like him around?

I looked in the other forums on the topic, but nothing seems to talk about this compatibility problem and provide a solution.  Someone at - it ideas?  Can you manually manage your music on your iPod, even if the two are not "compatible"?

    Thank you!

So I called Apple Support and they told me that my iPod software is not compatible with the iTunes software.

Seriously...?  My 'classic' 3rd gen iPod in 2003 still works fine with the latest version of iTunes and the latest OS X.  Even the original iPod should still work (assuming the iPod itself still works).  Your iPod classic 2009 is certainly consistent.  That support the needs of the person coming back through training...

When you connect it now, it seems in iTunes?  Are you able to select in iTunes, go to the settings screen, where you see the iPod photo and name in the upper left corner of the window and a box below that?

  • IPod Classic 160g shows no music after synchronization.

I tried reformatting and restoring. Sometimes I can get a few albums will appear on the ipod, mainly purchased itunes music. Almost none of my CD from my library will not work. It's maybe a hard disk problem. I just want to have some opinion or if someone could have the same question. It started after making the mistake of syncing with itunes after the last update. Forgive me for wanting to add new music. Here are my stats hard drive...

    Retracts: 9

    Reallocation: 16376

    Sectors pending: 0

    PowerOn hours: 143

    Start/stop: 47707

    Temp: current 29

    Temp: Min 5 c

    Temp: Max 56 c

Do not know your stats, but it is not specifically a drive problem hard if your iTunes Store purchased songs to the iPod and your CD songs imported synchronization are not.  iTunes doesn't care of the original source when it syncs the songs.

Do you use the method to Manage manual (drag and drop songs on iPod in iTunes) or Auto Sync (setting synchronization music )?  You get an error message after synchronization?

Find one of the songs that will not sync to your iTunes library.  Make a right click on it and read the information.  Tab Info to file window, browse to the location.  It shows a file path to its location on your disk, or does it mean something else there, like iCloud.  Depending on the configuration of your iTunes, it is possible for you to access your songs streaming from Apple servers ("iCloud").  But to synchronize the songs on your iPod, your files must be stored locally on your disk.

If this isn't the problem and/or your iPod hard drive is defective, you can consider to replace flash storage, in the form of widely available card compact flash or a card SDXC, on an adapter.  The 5th generation and later "classic" iPods, this website contains relevant information.

  • I have a iPod Classic 30 GB. I have a new macbook pro and I managed to put my iPod, but now I can't synchronize my iTunes to iPod. What should I do next?

iPod Classic does not sync with iTunes on MacBook Pro.

If "reset" means you did a restore on it (to erase it), after the restoration, the iPod is set by default to use the parameter manually manage music and videos] .  If you expect not to sync automatically, you need to Sync music.

Connect iPod and to find his button on the device to iTunes.  The screenshot below shows the left upper corner of the window of my iTunes, iPod button circled in red.

Click this button to display the settings of the iPod summary screen in the iTunes window.  Along the left side, in the sidebar, under settings, click on music.  Parameters of music from the iPod screen to the right.  Check the box to Sync music.

NOTE: For anyone else reading this, all the songs of the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

This enables automatic synchronization.  You can choose to synchronize your entire music library or a part of the selection .  Implement this screen as you want, and then click apply to sync iPod.  Further, iTunes automatically keeps iPod "in phase" with the changes in your music library (or the selected part of it), when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).

If this isn't the problem, thanks for posting back with additional details about your situation.

  • I have reset my Ipod classic. Now I want to synchronize with I tunes. ITunes says that it is synchronized. I pod reads no music

used to synchronize my Ipod in windows 10

If "reset" means you did a restore of the iPod using iTunes (to delete), the default setting after a restoration is to use manually manage music and videos.  Maybe that's why iTunes 'syncs' the iPod but nothing is loaded.  Nothing is set up to sync.

If you want to use automatic synchronization to music, you need to Sync music.  Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

NOTE: All of the songs from the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Check the box to Sync music.  This enables automatic synchronization.  If your library iTunes music can fit on the iPod, you can use the option synchronize entire music library.  Otherwise, choose the option synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Make your choice from the lists below.  For example, you can create and maintain playlists (one or more) in your iTunes library with songs you want on the iPod.  Back on the settings screen of music from iPod, under playlists, select (checkmark) these playlists.

Click Apply to sync your music library (or the selected part of it) to the iPod.  Further, iTunes automatically keeps your iPod "in phase" with the changes in your music library (or the selected part of it), when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).

If this is not the reason for your new iPod does not sync with your iTunes library, please report it back with any additional details.

  • iPod classic 160 GB says no music after synchronization

I have an old iPod classic 160 GB that has worked well for years. But suddenly, last week, while he was trying to put in new music (right now I have about 18 000 songs, more or less) he began to have problems with synchronization. After having tried in different ways (and after the restoration, with utility disk and with iTunes), I managed to synchronize all the music. However, it is very frustrating that after all this process my iPod displays "no music" in there. I'm desperate and I need advice because I really want to get it back and listen to music again.

    iPod classic 160 gb / Mac OS X (10.13) / last iTunes (12.3)

    Greetings!

After a restore, iTunes current assigned to use the parameter manually manage music and videos by default (no Auto Sync).  Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Settings of music from the iPod screen is shown at right.

Is currently checked the checkbox to Sync music ?  If your library complete iTunes music fits on the iPod, is the ability to synchronize the selected entire music library ?

  • What is the order of the removal of the songs to an iPod Classic syncing > somehow my laptop has started the process of synchronization without my knowledge and removed approximately 2,000 songs of my iPod classic.  How can I identify which were delete

What is the order of the removal of the songs to an iPod Classic syncing > somehow my laptop has started the process of synchronization without my knowledge and removed approximately 2,000 songs of my iPod classic.  How can I identify which were deleted songs?  I always manually move files to prevent this.  I'm on Windows 10.

Has no way to know that...

If your library iTunes music fits on the storage space of 160 GB of your iPod classic, you just set to automatically sync your entire library of music.  Then, it won't matter which has been removed and which do not get deleted, because your iPod music library is the same as your library iTunes music.  And iTunes it keeps this way, every time your iPod connection (or click sync , if already connected).

If you don't want "everything" in your iTunes library on your iPod (understandable), you can create a playlist in your iTunes library with all the songs you want on the iPod.  Then, set to automatically synchronize the playlist to iPod.  Instead of manually managing iPod, you manually manage playlist in your iTunes library.  The iPod has no need to be connected.  The next time you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected), iTunes will update the iPod with the same changes.  The big advantage is, if something happens like what you describe, or needs to restore iPod (erased) or even if break you your iPod (and get a new), need you a few mouse clicks to solve the problem.  Just set it up to sync the same playlist once again, which exists in your library iTunes (not only on the iPod).

You can post back for more information about how to use automatic synchronization to do what you want more easily, go ahead.

  • Have no indication of need for synchronization of a folder

My workflow in LR is to do all my editing, etc and then open the bridge and change all file names to reflect more descriptive titles. I then switch back to LR (4.3). In the past, this would result in all my edit photos that are involved in this process to the poster the famous question mark, BUT also the new names description. I would then synchronize and everything would be fine. Now, the name of the file does not change, and the question mark does not show. The folder must be Sync and since I know that I do all the titles and then change in the LR discovers.

Another piece of data - I installed win7 64bits (was on 32 bits) and of course reinstalled LR and CS5. I suspect there is some preference setting that I need to change to have LR to reflect the new file name and therefore need to synchronize and thus showing that it, but I don't know what it is. I could use some advice on this one. Thank you.

    colblip,

I'm relieved that you change your photos in Lr before you rename them in bridge.

It's really made me use strong words, because I thought that you would "undo" your changes to Lr.

So it is out of the way. I apologize for implying that you don't know Lr.

The question mark should appear when you change the name of the file in Bridge.

I have no explanation why he would not, except that maybe your preferences file has been corrupted. Not your fault, it seems to happen randomly.

When the file will preferably 'funny', it can create all sorts of strange behaviour of Lr that are not explainable. The repair is to replace the preferences file.

BTW: Resettlement Lr does not replace the file prefs, since it seeks to 'survive' updates.

See here for where to find the preferences for your operating system file: http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lightroo m - 4.html

See here to see how to replace the file preferably: http://lightroomers.com/replacing-the-lightroom-preference-file/745/

    I hope this helps.
