Well, I have two computers at the same time with the same version of Windows XP which is XP PRO SP2. I don't have not currently updated to SP3 for the simple fact that the two are about to switch to Windows 7.

The reson I try to connect these two computer this way is because my laptop has received such a bad for some reason virus whenever I tried to put it on her she would never do past the start screen or when I typed in the password it says access denied. I used Spotmau to a second partition on the hard drive and installed windows xp pro. I can see all the original (Windows Vista) OS files and all the stuff that I had to get out of it, but there are a few things that I have to go through ect... ect... The virus has managed to eat the automatic recovery partition and my late of course never did no restore CD anyway, long story short, I'm trying to get the lap top online via ethernet to my office. What I have is a wireless linksys with 4-port ethernet router. My internet connection comes from my mobile phone via the usb port. So what im trying to do is it here...   ISP (via usb) > Desktop (via ethernet) > router (via ethernet) > Lap Top... Reason for this is that I can not find the wireless card drivers for XP given the computer came with Vista. Last night I put in place the network using the network set up, and it worked for a period of 45 minutes, until the power went and when it came back it wouldn't work. There is no problem with the router or other hardware wise. Ivetried turn off all firewalls ect... and still nothing on the top of the Tower, but the office still works.

Well, you have a router, that should do it is quite easy. Follow the link below, its what I used to put in place and never had a problem. If for any reason, you have any questions there is a small troubleshooting guide. Also, a couple of think to try. 1. disable the DHCP on the router and setting the 2 PCs of static. 2. with the help of a cable crossed to connect the two computers.

  • I would like to connect two computers at home via a Linksys network for sharing files only switch.

Both computers have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed and both computers already have access to Internet wireless (router to our owner in the next section).  I want to be able to continue to use the wireless Internet, but want to share files directly between my two computers with the switch, if possible (assuming that it will be much faster for file transfers and sharing of multimedia files).  I am a total rookie at most of these when it comes to networking of instructions in English is appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Cannot connect two computers for games.

I am trying to connect two computers for games (Age of Empires 3) purposes, but when is connected the two with a cable ethernet (using a filter at one end adapter) nothing happens, I can't see not his computer on my laptop and it can't see my computer on his. In the game, I see his match but he can't see mine, and when I try to connect to the sound he says impossible to reach. Tried to make it work for days now and I'm at the end of my rope PLEASE HELP!

As a quick test to go Control Panel - firewall Windows and disabling the firewall to see if it works. If you have a 3rd party software AV Firewall control may be in this control panel software.

As the two PC is connected back to back without access to a DHCP server, they should award an APIPA IP address that should work. To eliminate the problems addressing assign a static IP on both.

Properties of the Control Panel - Network and sharing Center - change adapter settings - Rt click on Local Area connection-

In TCP/IP V4 each assign a static IP 192.168.0.X where x is between 1 and 254 and the 2 PC's are different so for example10 and 20, 100 or 1. The value of 255.255.255.0 subnet mask, save the changes and test the connection.

If disabling the firewall resolves you can add an exception to the firewall program to allow the age3.exe through the firewall. More information here, as you ar accommodation only play locally just look at the top.

  • How to connect two computers and LAN

I can't get my toshiba to interface with my desktop computer or to connect to the internet via a CAT5.
    I tried everything I know.

I'm not too sure about the LAN MAC? He just will not connect even if the device is functioning properly.

    Any ideas?

Here are the instructions how can connect the two computers.

-First of all, you will need to disable the firewall.
-Then you need to set the same workgroup on both computers
-in the Lan Card Properties-> Protocol TCP/IP settings, you must assign the IP address manually. That is, a computer must use the 192.186.50.1 ip address and the other computer must be set to 192.186.50.2.
-MAC address is fixed and cannot be changed. Each LAN card uses unique mac address

After these settings, you must restart the portable computers (computers)

PS: I recommend Google for details and further instructions.

  • Tecra Z50 - need to connect two external monitors

I think to buy Tecra Z50, but one of the features that I need is the ability to connect two external monitors.

Is it possible to have a monitor connected to the HDMI and a VGA (with computer laptop lid closed)?

    * Hi-speed III Port Replicator is not an option, because it is not available in my country (Croatia).

    Hello

I don t think you will be able to connect two external monitors to this laptop using HDMI and RGB port at the same time because of different types of signals.

The RGB/VGA port supports analog signal.

The HDMI port provides the digital video output and when the external monitor is connected to the HDMI port the device is set to HDMI.

    > * Hi-speed III port replicator is not an option because it is not available in my country (Croatia).
What of the Dynadock? Its an external device connected to the s for computer laptop USB port.
It supports own graphic unit and you can connect to another external monitor such Dynadock 2nd.

    Hello

Thanks for your reply. for the remote panel connection manager, it seems like a good solution, but not in my case.

and for the static ip address: Yes, it is the ip of the server. and the client must connect to send data (signal dmm---> dynamic signals). someone tell me try the command ping sataic ip of the client computer? and the result is request expire. I think that's the problem and I'll solve it so wish me good luck gd

It was good adice you received. Non-routage IP are available only on the local network. Your IT Department will have to help with the IP settings and router.

  • Connecting two routers via a static route

I have a relatively simple configuration involving a Wireless-N Router and a wireless-B router (several years).  The N wireless router is connected to the internet (via DSL modem) and accepts several DHCP clients without problem.  Wireless - b router is connected to the Wireless-N router.  To do this, I connected the WAN port on the router wireless - b to a port on the router Wireless N ethernet (did not use the uplink). I have a PC connected to the router wireless - b, so I want him to be able to hit the internet, but also be accessible to DHCP clients on the Wireless N router.  The PC connects to the internet successfully, but it does not find clients on the network supported by the Wireless-N router.  It's about my setup:

    B 192.168.55.1 wireless router (LAN) 192.168.56.102 (WAN)

    PC 192.168.55.10 (active dhcp)

    Wireless N 192.168.56.1 (LAN) x.x.x.x (internet)

    (several clients dhcp... 192.168.56.100...)

I've added a static route in the hope that a computer on the network of the Wireless N router would be able to hit the PC, but nothing helped. I've added a static route as such, on the Wireless-N router, which was the only way that that would enable the web interface:

    Destination LAN 192.168.55.0

    Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

    Gateway 192.168.56.102

I tried to place the router without wireless - B gateway mode, then router and changed mode, then return.  I can connect to the web interface of the router wireless - b from the PC, and I can connect to the internet from the PC.  Also, the PC is able to reach customers on Wireless N, but the reverse is not true, i.e. clients on Wireless N can't find clients on the wireless - B network. Also, I turned on the port forwarding on the router wireless - B so that it points to the PC, in the hope he would lead all traffic to the PC, but still cannot access PC.  How to configure both routers (or both set up as access point?) so that clients on the Wireless N Router can talk to customers on the wireless router - B?  For now, all customers are on DHCP, but finally, I would like to create static entries for at least two or three of them.

    Thanks in advance

Are Linksys routers teas? If so what model is router B? It may not supported for a DHCP client port forwarding. Even if you can get the port forwarding to work for a client on router B, it will not work for several clients.

In addition, if you have the option in router B, disable the SPI Firewall. It is the cause of the problem, in my opinion. If you do this, you should port forward.

Is there a reason that you connect the routers via the WAN port on the router B? You could uplink using an ethernet port on the B to an ethernet port on the N and avoid all this... You can always configure router B as a point of wireless access for specific customers.

  • Unable to connect to computers via Remote Desktop on the VPN connection.

I have a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory network. Connect you to it remotely using an appliance, Sonicwall TZ170 VPN/Firewall DHCP pointing our internal DHCP server so we do not use the Sonicwall DHCP over VPN.

The area has been recently rebuilt completely charge and the VPN connection was stronger than it has ever been when connecting to computers on our network for the first 2 weeks. In the last few days, however, people had problems connecting on our desktop computers. They can connect to some but not to others, and in the case of a person who needs in particular access to a computer, it can not connect to it all.

I don't think it's a VPN issue but something to do with the DHCP/DNS/domain controller server. However, I am not able to locate the problem.

In the past, this same thing was a problem before I took over. We had just a matter to the inconsistency of the connection until I thought I had solved the problem (however short-lived the fix was) with the refurbishment of the domain controller.

Customers are a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7.

Any ideas? I will provide all the information I can.
