Need to re-setup of Windows 7 Home Premium disc
I bought a new Dell Inspiron 3647, with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
What happens if I should want or need to re - install Windows 7. No reinstallation disk not supplied with the computer.
How would re - install the OS?
Do I have to pay for a record, I have already installed and paid for an operating system?

I need a download site for windows 7 Home premium 32-bit, I have a product key
Try to upgrade to Windows 7 Home premium Vista SP2. Bought the upgrade of Office Depot, but do not have a cd to load just the product key.
You have purchased an Express upgrade. Windows 7 Anytime Upgrades are only intended to upgrade an existing edition of Windows 7 to a higher edition, example: Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition.
You must return the product and buy the right type of license:

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.
If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:
Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

It is a new work computer, not my personal machine. Our main piece of software, ACT! 2000, will not work on W7. We bought the new law! 2010, but he does not play well with the rest of the desktop computers, server included. I know that the best thing to do would be to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro, and then load Windows Virtual PC to run XP. But because of $$$ and $$$ already spent on this new computer, upgrade to W7 Pro is not on the table right now.
And am not extremely computer, but I get. :) I did a lot of reading on the erasure of Windows 7 & install XP, and I've seen a lot read on hardware/driver problems: ATA, AHCI and SATA configurations... now I'm just lost.
Is there someone who can tell me, in terms of Joe 6-pack , how to proceed?
Once, my new Dell Inspiron 560 came loaded with Windows 7 Home Edition, and I need to remove it completely and install Windows XP, I have the disc.
Thanks a bunch!
Unfortunately, Dell provides Windows XP drivers for this system, so any installation of Windows XP is not supprted by Dell andcan not work and even install
To install winxp you need a retail version of Windows XP, you must then boot from winxp cd and perform a clean installation

I've upgraded to windows 7, the upgrade requires a previous version of windows must be installed before it can be used.
When I installed the upgrade first, it worked perfectly, unfortunately I do not have a set of recovery discs before upgradeing from Vista to 7 (stupid I know!).
I bought the components to upgrade my PC and want to reinstall windows, but cannot without Windows Vista Home Premium disc, and I can't find anywhere to download them, or find someone willing to let me copy their discs (I only need a copy discs, I have my own serial number).
True to form, I also forgot to make disks of backup to my laptop before it got a virus (edition windows Home premium), feeling very stupid.
If anyone knows where I can get copies of these discs, it would releive a lot of stress.
That you have a legable Vista product key, then use these installation files to make a .iso and then bootable DVD/USB as shown here:
This will install Windows Vista with the activation of the phone. Note using your Windows 7 update product key directly with the good Windows 7 .iso file directly should work and you should not need to install Vista. You can, or perhaps not to activate by phone.

Window Vista Home Premium cd required
Hello.. I have a laptop HP with Vista home premium. My hard drive went bad. I had to get another drive. My Vista restore disk does not work. How to get an another vista installation disc or even better get a Windows 7 Home premium disc?
Hello
There is no Windows 7 FREE license; you have to buy Windows 7.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact HP and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do it for a small fee

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I was wondering if this is a problem major and if theres nothing I can do... maybe download a new copy and just enter the product ID I don't know... IM really not too tech saavy... any help would be greatly appreciated... Thank you
So what you want to do is put windows 7 to replace windows vista on your new hard drive?
Step 1: Download the ISO file. You will need a cache of DVD or a USB flash drive (3 GB or better), if you insert a DVD, then it will ask you if you want to use it with a DVD player or a usb flash drive. Check the box to a DVD player or something similar to this. With a flash drive, you don't have to worry about setting up or anything.Download the ISO of windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.Here is the link:http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58997.isoBe patient as it can take an hour to download on a medium speed wifi connection.Step 2: Burn the disk image to a DVDNow that you will burn the ISO on DVD once it's done. To do than go to where ever you downloaded the ISO on your computer and right-click on the ISO file. Now click on burn the disk image.Make sure your DVD is inserted. When asked what disc burner, select the drive that you inserted the DVD in. If you have only 1 DVD player you should have only 1 option. Now hit burn and go get coffee or something while you wait.Burn the image on a USB flash driveBut if you don't have a DVD, you can always use a USB flash drive. You need to download Universal USB installNow open universal USB install and it will ask you to choose a Linux distro. Keep scrolling down until you find "software based on other or non-linux".Select windows 7 Setup from there. Now step 2 hit browse and find where you downloaded the ISO image. Now, select your USB flash drive letter. It takes only 1 option. And click on create. And when it asks you if you want to format? Click Yes.DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR FLASH DRIVE PROBABLY ALL THAT FILES WILL BE DELETED IN THIS PROCESSStep 3: Boot from your DVD or USBRestart your computer, and while it loads the bios, it must be said somewhere boot options. And there will be a F1, F2, F3, or some F key to enter the boot options. After that, select the USB flash drive or a DVD drive to start. You will get to the windows installation and you can install windows 7.It will ask you your product key. It is in any way illegal. -
A product that needs Windows XP SP3 + will be compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium
I have Windows 7 Home Premium and I want to buy a product of heart Math that says Windows XP XP3 +.
What I need to be upgraded or it would be compatible?Windows 7 has a feature of executing programs that are compatible with a previous version of Windows. If you have Windows 7, then you can run programs that are compatible with the following versions of Windows: -.
- Windows 95
- Windows 98/Windows Me
- Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
- Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
- Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1)
- Windows Server 2008 (Service Pack 1)
- Windows Vista
- Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
- Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)
- Windows 7 (obviously)
In your case, you want to run a program that is compatible with Windows XP (Service Pack 3) , then I don't think there should be a problem to do so. Is there a programs on Windows 7 Compatibility Wizard, which helps you run programs that are compatible with a previous version of Windows. You can follow the following steps to run the program compatibility Wizard.Open the program compatibility Wizard by clicking the start , clicking Control Panel, clicking programs and then click on use an older program with this version of Windows.
Follow the instructions in the wizard.
If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation for the program and, using the wizard disk, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the program icon, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.

Seagate has created the launcher setup.exe usually run in windows 7 Home premium
I have an office for the expansion of Seagate 2 to external HARD disk, it is recognized by windows 7 Home premium.
The problem is that the setup.exe for Seagate Launcher will not run.Once again you ask about Seagate software in a software MS forum, while you are asking in the wrong place. If I remember (it has been a while) because this whole program is to install an interface to their public services. But you really need to ask to Seagate. You ask Ford on a part of Chevy would you?
Good luck.
