  I have a training environment with the help of portable computers W530, who are locked in a box in front of the offices. It is not practical to reach the computer as it's hidden and so I need to use the dvi cable external monitor for the configuration of the bios, boot order, etc..

  Currently, boot options are hidden from the external screen until windows loads. The external monitor would then become active. A way around the monitor to the laptop altogether?

  VGA is driven by Nvidia, so apply the same parameters. Comes to the boot monitor in VGA BIOS (I forgot what we call this specific setting, as my W530 is at home). You should always pass nvidia Optimus only.

  1. attach a TV or monitor to the Qosmio G30 HDMI while both units are in a State "turned off the power.
  2. turn on the TV or monitor first and then the Qosmio G30.
  3 Qosmio G30 should automatically detect the HDMI connection and video output can be seen via HDMI to the TV or monitor.

It starts and works fine except that after I used it with an external monitor (a tv screen) on the possibility of using the external monitor, it only now starting to think that the monitor is the flat screen tv and doesn't recognize the normal screen of the laptop. The laptop screen is now "pixeled" and shows only like 2/3 of its total width.   I ve solved the problem.

Does this sound correct?

  Unplug the power to the modem cable for 30 seconds should be good enough. In regards to the router, you should be able to get without a reset, if it is set to DHCP for the type of internet connection.

  I worry if this window does not work correctly, you should probably work out why, I use 1.5.0_17 jdk in our environments (with apps 7.9.5) and that works fine, I suggest to try another version of the JDK and see if that fixes the problem.
