    How do I take a VISTA system which has a drive with a C and D partition and combne in C only a partition with the storage of which was C and D?

    Hello

    Make sure that D: is not the partition recovery including the manufacturer put there to make the recovery disks from and eventually to return your computer to how you bought

    You cannot combine C: and D: and their data using the Vista Disk Manager

    with Vista, you will need to save the data on D: - D: delete - and then extend C: into the now unallocated space where D: was to do a 1 partition 2

  • How to create and delete partitions automatically?

    How to create and delete partitions automatically?
    The environment is (10.2.0.3) 10g Oracle on the RHEL4.0 system.
    I want to partition the table of MESSAGES by date (NUMTODSINTERVAL(1,'DAY')). One partition per day. Because the table is huge, only 2 partitions (as of yesterday and today) are required to be available online. All partitions as earlier than the day before will be saved, and then dropped. I want to do the partition to create and delete the work performed automatically. How to do?

    Thank you

    Could do in detail?

    Here is an example of a procedure (part of a package) that adds/add a partition to an existing partitioned table schedule:

    procedure AddHourlyPartition( tableName varchar2, hour date, partitionName IN OUT varchar2 ) is
            sqlCreate       varchar2(4000);
            d               date;
    begin
            partitionName := GetHourlyPartitionName( hourly ); -- name of partition to create

            if existsPartition( tableName, partitionName ) then
                    -- nothing to do
                    return;
            end if;

            d := TRUNC(hour,'hh') + (1/24);                                -- upper date limit of the partition

            sqlCreate :=
            'ALTER TABLE '||tableName||'
                    ADD PARTITION '||partitionName||'
                    values less than
                            (TO_DATE('''|| TO_CHAR(d,'yyyy/mm/dd hh24:mi:ss') ||''',''yyyy/mm/dd hh24:mi:ss''))'
            ;

            ExecSQL( sqlCreate );

    end;

    The partition is safer to create partitions according to the experience?

    It is always better to write good packages in PL/SQL. Packages can (and should) use the application programming interfaces (API). Because our partition custom package that allows the management of partition. Or a messageLog package that allows for logging of application messages, errors, and debugging messages. Or a Notification package that allows to be send by email or SMS notifications. Etc.

    Design and software development, we should always approaches a "+ Lego mentality +"-which is to create building blocks ("+ Lego bricks +") which can be used and reused over and over again. Modularization is of crucial importance in software engineering as the result is not only of reusable code, but also the code that is easier to maintain, extend easier and easier to debug.

  • Satellite U840W - how it works with SSD and HDD drives?

    American,

    I have a U840W which is a beautiful piece of work. He currently heads the Win7.
    It has a hybrid drive system, SSD 32 G and 500G HARD drive. Apparently the 32G acts as a cache.

    I tried to install Linux Mint as a dual boot with Win7.

    Cannot make it work. The installation process (Ubiquity) does not see disks or partitions.
    In a file manager or the GPart-partition manager, I see the HARD drive and all partitions.

    Help me to help the developers of the ubiquity of the problem of access to disks I can get a
    explanation of the way in which the disk system is organized and how it works?

    Any help greatly appreciated, Ian.

    The LINUX community already knows your answer and has led the path to resolve, such as the forum of mint as this thread:

    http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=124299

    Even Microsoft Windows has trouble with setup.exe on disc SSD/HDD hybrid and the Microsoft forums are polluted with their own unverified solutions, some of which are frighteningly superstitious that authoritative to be listed here.

    Ubi, Gnome and KDE are all based on the ability of Grub reliable start the player and so many different distributions don't guarantee reliability.

    I don't have the problem you describe with hybrid hard drives since the installation of 11 Unbuntu.

    Mint is not my first choice with the exception of a bureau of temporary replacement, since the authors are strongly focused on the Office UI, less than the largest army of coders behind Unbuntu and Fedora.

    I'm not criticizing the currency of your choice, but comparing the current Unbuntu boot process could shorten your objective dissection of a startup process of OEM from a manufacturer known for securing lower level specifications.

    Hello

    One way would be to start the Firefox Profile Manager in each Linux instance and that it points to a profile of another Firefox installation folder, preferably one that has been customized in a satisfactory manner. You can then delete the profile by default in every Linux installation.

    Recovery DVD does not give an option to partition the hard drive. You can create a new partition using disk management in Windows.

  • I do not have the security on my browser lock and need to how can I be sure stuff is safe?

    I have no lock on my browser and duty security how can I be sure that my stuff is safe?

    The padlock shows only that there is a secure connection and does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server. So you could always be connected to the wrong server if you make a typing mistake in the URL and someone said that mistyped the URL. The lock feature has been replaced by the identity button of the Site on the left end of the address bar (address). Extension locks mentioned above will help you to remind you if you're always looking for the padlock icon.

    This actually exists since Firefox 3.0 is not new.
