You can not get the status of link directly (as far as I know).

You can detect the status of "link down" through the linkSpeed in PhysicalNic object property.

You can use something like this

    (Get-VmHost  | Get-View).Config.Network.Pnic | %{
         if($_.LinkSpeed -eq $null){
              Write-Host $_.Device "Link down"

    Hello, Bill Bates,.

I would say to contact support with their router blank:
  • Dedicated network adapter to the virtual machine and the host computer not let can visit his profile

OK, here's my question, I know how to give themselves a phyiscal nic to a vmware, but I wanted to take it one step further and do not leave the host send or receive data from this network card, only the virtual machine can use this network/NIC...

Here's my reasoning, I have to network conections, one is for my internal/field network and the second is a direct connection to the internet (Comcast) I don't want to use to separate the machines have for internet connection, I want to be on the same machine phyiscal and have just the vmware machine talking to comcast... is it possible?  I am running VMware workstation 7, last update.

    Thank you

    Cdrshm

I assume you are using a Windows host?

    If Yes...

-first set up networking networking with vmnetcfg.exe

-assign vmnet0 to the network card for the internal network

-assign vmnet2 to the network card used for direct access to the internet

-Right-click on the map network-icon in the systray and access the properties of the network adapter for vmnet2

-Disable all other protocols and the Protocol of vmware_bridge for this network adapter

result: a virtual machine that uses vmnet2 can directly access the internet and the host has no IP address for this network adapter - and therefore cannot use it.

  • Difficulty in the light on the AC adapter and the power light power on after connect you to the laptop

HP Pavilion dv3t notebook. Each time get adapter connect to the laptop, it takes at least 10 minutes to get the AC adapter and power indicator light on. Sometimes it does not light on all day.  It always happens any with the battery or not.

If I start the laptop with the light on the AC adapter and the power light, no matter how I move the power cord, it maintains support, works very well.

But if I start the laptop without the light on the AC adapter and the power led on even with the, i.e. start with the battery as power, no matter how I move the power cord, the led on the AC adapter and the light, i.e. no charge. He stops until the battery drain.

I believe that the AC adapter is good. But I have no idea why he has trouble in the light on the AC adapter and the power light on after to connect to the laptop.

Dv6 had a somewhat similar problem that was treated with a BIOS upgrade. I watched the latest BIOS for your laptop and there is nothing about a problem of load, however. If it works very well and also a long time that you turn it on with the AC plugged in but only has a problem with loading when you connect the adapter Windows runs, I'm tempted to say that it is a software problem as a problem with Windows power management. Maybe if you remove the hard drive, power supply, switch it on with battery only, then plug the adapter when you run in a pre-Windows environment, we can see if the same problem occurs. If it was my cell phone, I would also like to do the update BIOS level, just to see if maybe it would affect something. I could also try to run it from a Linux Live disc any and see if the same problem occurs in another operating system. Last resort I would begin focusing on the issues of possible material, as a module of taking bad AC, which is an other replaceable part that requires no welding.

  • How to associate a VM for the second network adapter on the host

    Hello

I have created a virtual machine and added a NIC that matches the first physical network adapter on the host Machine. I then added a second NETWORK adapter on the host. I would like to create the second network adapter on the same VM and map it on the second NETWORK adapter on the host. How can this be achieved.

When I use the "Add Hardware", I does not enumerate the physical network adapters on the host to choose and assigns a VM mac address.

    Kind regards.

VMware customers use virtual network adapters if you need for a great, a second deck on the host card, but how to do this depends on the host OS.

For Linux, just run vmware - config.pl and choose to create a second bridged network adapter, choose the right pair of physics.

For Windows, run vmnetcfg.exe (as an administrator), disable the automatic bypass and then manually fill the two physical network adapters (for example to create two VMnet adapters * with each mapping to a different physical NIC). You also need to restart the host VMware Agent services and VMware Server Web Access before these virtual cards will be available for use.

  • setting up of a second NETWORK adapter on the ESX machine...

I'm in the part of my ESX machine and I NIC one configured for LAN, but I try to activate and configure a second NETWORK adapter on this computer, so I can connect it to a VLAN different. When I go I see the place to allow the second NETWORK card (and I have) but it says always "disconnected" and I see only the settings for the first NETWORK adapter in the IP configuration screen. How can I set an IP address and stuff for the second NETWORK card, and why is it showing as offline after that I went out and restarted the management stuff?

Go under ESX / Configuration / networks.

You will see your vSwitch. You can change it or click Add, to add a new vSwitch.

  • The message that it is has no network adapter and not configured. What's wrong???

I have a Gateway LX6810 - 01 desktop runnning windows Vista Edition Albums Home Premium, 64 bit, 8 GB of RAM, all the latest updates and Service Pack 2. I connect to the internet through the network connection AT & T Uverse high-speed broadband (12gbps). He worked for over two years now with no problems until now. All of a sudden one day after I rebooted the machine there is no internet connection. When I went to the network and sharing Center, I receive a message that there is no installed network devices. SO, I went to the Device Manager window and there is no device listed network but when I opened the "hidden devices" he has been. (Why it is hidden I have not the slightest idea). SO, I went to the BIOS and checked for if ensure the LAN has been "activated" and it WAS.  I don't always get the same message "no network installed devices. SO then I went on the website gateway and downloaded the driver LAN for my machine and my LAN and reinstalled the driver... I ALWAYS get the same message and I still have no Internet connetion. WHAT could be the problem? Although I consider myself relatively smart, I'm NOT a computer guru, so be kind and state your suggestions in the jargon of the 'no' then I'll understand. Thanks for your help. I'm out of ideas.

    Hello

Thanks for posting the request in the Microsoft community!

I understand that you receive the error "no network listed device" on the Device Manager window and you don't have an Internet connection. We will try to solve this problem by following the suggestions.

    1. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?
    2. What is the exact error message that you receive when you try to connect to the Internet?
    3. what anti-virus software is installed on the computer?

To resolve the connection problem, try suggestions

    Method 1:
Try the steps in the link and check.
Windows wireless and wired network connection problems
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

    Method 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus and firewall installed on the computer and check.

    Enable or disable Windows Firewall
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

NOTE: turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.
You can see the following link to disable the Antivirus installed on your computer software.

    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

    Method 3:
If the steps above do not help, you can reset the TCP/IP stack. To reset access the link below and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself: http

    Method 4:
You can uninstall and reinstall the network card and check.
    a. Click Start, type device manager in the search box of start and press ENTER.
    b. Locate the network adapters and expand the same.
    c. Select the wireless connection, right click and choose uninstall.
    d. restart the computer, if prompted.
You can download the network drivers update of the website of the manufacturer of the system and check:

    Method 5:
If you use Internet Explorer, then you can read the following article and try the suggestions and check.

How to troubleshoot network connectivity problems in Internet Explorer
