Network lost after restart of host settings

I have vcenter that works as a virtual machine on host #1 (vsphere 4.1 u1)

I used vcenter to configure networking on the host #1 and was able to connect to the San and run a virtual machine of the SAN.

About 10-15 minutes later, I stop the virtual machine of vcenter, put the host in maintenance mode and rebooted the host.

After startup, the host no longer has network (vswitches, iscsi, config, etc.) settings and as such, cannot see SAN data warehouses.

I do not understand why this has happened.

I had already installed 4.1 on my other 2 hosts literally 10 minutes before it happened, and now I have an unpleasant feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Using ESX or ESXi?

Because ESXi works in the virtual disk, and it updated the config files not in real time.

    Too bad.

Network editor opened and restored by default and it's working now.

I searched and read that in another post.

  • Is it possible I can get the virtual computer connectivity after restart to connect to the local network in the host operating system?

    Hi all

For some reason, I have to disable and then enable the LAN connection in the host operating system. If some virtual machines are running during this time, connectivity all VMs for out-of-world are lost, they cannot connect to the host even more (by running the ping command). I tried a few methods to retrieve the connectivity, but all have failed, for example,

    1. reboot the virtual computer

    2. restart VMware Workstation

    3. restart the corresponding system services in the host operating system

The only way I can retrieve all is to restart the host operating system itself.

Yes, is there short any path, I can retrieve the connectivity of these virtual machines?

    Thanks in advance.

Try installing a newer driver.  According to the site, you should be able to find a driver dated 2008 or 2007 (depending on which exact model of NetLink card you have):

1 came out of safe guard 360

Sometimes out of some firewall programs is not enough (they keep still themselves installed in the network of the host stack, even if they are 'closed').  You may need to uninstall to make sure that it is not interfere.  (Search the forums for support for your firewall software see if anyone else is having problems with vmware and 360 safe guard).

Is - this Firefox starts when you open first after the computer restarts, but crashes the next time that you try to start? If Yes, then there is a bug in Firefox 29 where Firefox crashes out when the parameter ' delete history closing Firefox "is selected, so that you get an error" running but not responding do not "next time you ttry to launch. In this case, end the firefox.exe process in Windows Task Manager (or restart the computer) and then reset your Firefox Privacy options and UNCHECK the option «Clear history of Firefox closing» See this article for more details:

If this isn't the problem and Firefox still open even after restarting the computer, then try to boot mode safe of Firefox by holding down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox. If Firefox starts then read Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to narrow down the cause.

Restoring to factory settings formats the disc, and which erases
everything what he. You probably get something new, but you can
try to do a search on the web for a recovery program that unformats the reader
    like here: http://www.easeus.com/resource/unformat.htm

If you unformat the drive successfully and can recover lost files
back, the first thing you should do copy on an external
(CD, DVD, USB sticks, external hard drives, etc.).
    Two other points/questions:

    1. why restore you to the factory settings? This is usually the worst
approach to solve a problem, there's a lot of extra long hard
work and often leads to problems of its own (as it did here).

    2. I assume you have no backup on external media from your
photos of important files etc. In this case. you played with
the fire. You can read this article on the backup that I wrote:

  • Color calibration settings reset after restarting the computer

    Hello!
I had a really hard time with my monitor calibration.
I will try to describe my problem as simple as possible. I hope that someone will find a solution to this because I just couldn't.

    SYSTEM:
ASUS N750JV, Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M + Intel HD Graphics 4600 and, of course, Windows 8.

    PROBLEM:
"Calibrate display" settings change/reset back from each time after restarting the laptop, shut down or put to sleep.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM
I just can't calibrate my screen. Everything I do just does not work.
Calibrating monitor in Windows 8 works very well only during the time when I actually do
But if I restart, stop, or put my laptop to sleep just goes back to normal.

For example, as a first step, the screen of Loggin on Windows 8 when I start seems calibrated.
but when I connect I wait 2 seconds or two and all my settings are changed in return.
I have to recalibrate the screen again and again once and again and again...

Swear to God that I tried all possible solutions to solve my problem and none of them worked.
I have read a lot of forums, and I can't find the solution that actually works.
I did the solution 'Safe mode' , the 'clean boot' solution, in 'color management', I changed the settings (in a way that people who said it should work).
I've updated all my drivers (my system than the GeForce GT 750 M is up to date). I installed all available updates for Windows 8 (when I check updates, the system tells me there aren't everything and my system is also up-to-date).

I guess there could be a problem with my graphics card. I know that everyone has had problems these last time with the new update for GeForce, but like I said before, if I have confidence in my laptop then my graphics card is up-to-date.

It really bothers me. It's annoying and I'm frustrated by that. The worst is that I can't find a solution to this, so I'm really asking for help.
    Thank you!

Original title: calibration unsolved display problem - Windows 8

Adeline B, thank you very much for your answer.
I'm sorry that I have not responded in such a long delay.

Well, my problem has been resolved. I downloaded my GeForce graphics driver was last updated.
    Now everything works fine.

    • I know that this problem can be irritating. If anyone has the same issue so I recommend you (like everyone else) download of the updated driver for your graphics card.
    • If this does not work, try to calibrate your system using programs/software installed on your computer by your manufacturer. In my case it was splendid ASUS utility. I also used Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel.
    • Another thing is you may think that your system does not calibrate when it actually... made. So what you can do, it's just waiting for the start until your system is finally charge up. In my case, Windows 8 something takes about 10 to 12 seconds, until what it changes all the settings of ' my settings'.»» Then first Windows 8 loads up to original settings (and this is why you find that your screen is not calibrated) but then it loads the calibration settings you make before you restart and all is well.

I know this sounds so easy is probably not solve anything, but when I had this problem with the calibration I was so irritated by it I wasn't noticing the changes! I'd just instantly to the desktop or control panel configuration, or web and try to solve the problem, without waiting for my system completely load all settings. But... If the wait does not then consult my previous statements.

  • Best way to manage the accessible host check after restart

    vCO newbie here...

I'm building a workflow for (a) take an array of clusters, (b) the loop through a cluster and take a picture of the armed forces, (c) using the table of the host, in Maint Mode on first host... run a script, restart (d) check host reconnects and move then to the next host... until all hosts have been completed.  I'm looking for the best way or an example of verification of accessibility of the host and to wait for the host is accessible before you continue.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello Carlos, you certainly came to the right place for this question vCO is ideal for this kind of thing... I got to play a little before I restart something that resembled what you're asking for is basically a host and wait for it to be reconnected.

Well, the workflow "Reboot Host" indicates indeed vCenter API to restart a host, but it does not wait for the host to come back to the top, she finished just all right because that's what indicates the API... Therefore, we must introduce a timer to wait a few minutes and to give a chance of him having turned off as part of resetting to the host. Then we check the connectionState of the host to see if it is 'connected' - otherwise, wait a few minutes and repeat the loop until the host is connected again. See example attached workflow. I recommend a MINIMUM of 3 minutes for the wait time. Test this several times in your environment to see what still works for you and adjust as necessary.

  • lost after upgrade to El capitan photos

    Help

I lost priceless pictures of a loved one lost after updating my old OS to El Capitan.

I now try to revive photos, hold the option key and select another photo library to see if this will bring my photos.

I was using an old OS and when my iphone 5s was stollen over the weekend, I bought an iphone 6 when I plugged the new phone to put all of my previous settings and data on it said I have to upgrade my operating system to synchronize this phone.

I hesitate to update the system, but did it anyway.

then, when she opened the only pictures that remained on the computer are those that have been taken with my iphone or photos that come from the internet or social networks.

I lost all my albums of photos taken with a canon ios device.

These photos are not in time machine.

How can the computer just delete the photos on its own... How does he choose what to keep and what to delete.

Please help... I refuse to give up and accept that the computer can simply delete photos and videos.

Take a look in your images folder and see if there is an iPhoto library.

    What OS did you spend.

  • Permissions lost after reboot

    Hello

I have an installation of ESXi 5 on a DL380G6, server is automatically added to the esx fine, admins Add Group field, works very well.

If I add another group, it works until the server is restarted, and then the group is removed from the permissions tab. I tried several groups and the same thing happens.

If I change the setting advanced under Config > host Agent > Plugins > hostsvc > esxadminsgroup to another group, it remains after a reboot, as well as the Group admins to esx, if I may change back the group is lost after a reboot.

Is there any solution for this?

    Thank you.

ESXi works in RAM and configuration data are not saved in real time on the edges.

Wait at least 1 h before the reboot of the host.

  • When a leg of the network resumes connectivity, causing expired host ping...

We have vSwitch0 configured with two groups of ports:

    VMotion and network management

There are two natachasery (vmnic0 & vmnic1) associated with vSwitch0 and the setting for the collection of network adapters is all the default settings.

    (Active - Active/vmnic1 - vmnic0) / load balancing - based on the port

    The problem:

I have the continuous Ping ping to the host.

If I DISCONNECT one cable network of the physical network adapter, I see may be 1 or 2 drops of the ping, b/c the other Teddy resumes the connection so no problems here.

but if I BRANCH this cable back into network, after 2 or 3 seconds, I'll see about 7-request-expired for the ping, then again after the ping.

It's about 21 seconds and it's long enough to trigger a host isolation (?)

I understand that I can go to HA Advanced Options to change the das.failureInterval to a larger value,

but my question is why, when connectivity resumes, this would cause long delays for the host to become to pings...

is - this delay normal behavior?

I tried to set nic teaming RESTORATION no, but that doesn't seem to help...

    the cluster I have is a two node esxi 4.0u1 w / vCenter 4.0u1

    Thank you

This may be caused by the spanning tree relearning your network connectivity of bringing the second network card. I've seen similar problems.
