Network of field vs Local machine settings
I was invited by a project manager to make changes to a large number of PC, because we have changed to a new IP subnet for the entire Department.
It is a domain environment, but I wonder to make changes by logging in to the local machines (as opposed to the connection under the domain name).
I do not understand why this should be done in this way, after all, when users plop down to their office, they will log into the domain.
FYI: the changes are changes of network connection: Show icon when it is connected. Check the DHCP option. Obtain an IP and DNS address automatically; Auto negotiate the speed; and change the printer the default printer (to the NET) IP network.
Is there some settings that follow through between log on the local machine and a field log on?
Thank you!
BB
This could be because logon user domain may not sufficient privileges to make the changes as you said to do.
It seems that the changes you are asked to do are global setings that will apply to all users of the PC regardless of whether if they connect to the computer or domain.

I can connect to my network, but with access "local only".
Access to the "Local" network onlyI can connect to my network, but with access "local only". Internet became more intermittent (not sure if that is related or if I guess it) and did not work in several weeks. Desktop computer is plugged into the router, but have the same problem when it is plugged into the DSL modem. Other computers on the same router (wireless or other) work very well. Recently, I removed Mcaffee and installed MS security essentials. I uninstalled mcaffee of programs and settings then used the mcaffee removal tool to lighten the rest. I uninstalled and reinstalled MS security essentials. I thought it might be a firewall issue, but I get error 0x6D9 when I try to start it. I tried all the steps in the following post, nothing helps. Any other suggestions?______________________
You can follow the steps below and check if that helps you solve the problem.
Method 1
Try to power cycle the router and the computer and check if it helps.
On the PC:
- Save your work and restart the machine.
On the router or modem (if wireless printing):
- Unplug the router and the modem.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug in the modem and wait for it to come to the ready state.
- Plug in the router.
After you put cycle check the connection between the router and the computer.
Method 2
If the steps above do not help, you mayreset TCP/IP stack. To reset access the link below and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357
Disable the IP helpdesk:
1 hold the Windows key and type R, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press enter
2. scroll down to the IP assistance service, right-click on it and select Properties
3. in the drop-down list box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to disabled and then click 'apply '.
4. then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session
5. click on OK to exit the dialog boxMethod 3
Disable IPv6 and remove IPv6 virtual cards:
Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, the removal of virtual cards of IPv6 and reset the TCP/IP stack. To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.» Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.
NOTE: You should do this for each network connection, even if they are disabled.Method 4
Disable the DHCP Broadcast Flag:
Link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233
Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or some non-Microsoft DHCP servers
To resolve this issue, disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.
2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
4 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}
5. in this registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the network adapter that is connected to the network.
6. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.
7. in the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.
8. right click on DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, then click on modify.
9. in the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.
10. close the registry editor.
By setting this registry key to 1, Windows Vista's trying to get an IP address using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets. If that fails, he will try to obtain an IP address without using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets.
You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the wireless card.________________

Dedicated network adapter to the virtual machine and the host computer not let can visit his profile
OK, here's my question, I know how to give themselves a phyiscal nic to a vmware, but I wanted to take it one step further and do not leave the host send or receive data from this network card, only the virtual machine can use this network/NIC...
Here's my reasoning, I have to network conections, one is for my internal/field network and the second is a direct connection to the internet (Comcast) I don't want to use to separate the machines have for internet connection, I want to be on the same machine phyiscal and have just the vmware machine talking to comcast... is it possible? I am running VMware workstation 7, last update.
Thank you
Cdrshm
I assume you are using a Windows host?
If Yes...
-first set up networking networking with vmnetcfg.exe
-assign vmnet0 to the network card for the internal network
-assign vmnet2 to the network card used for direct access to the internet
-Right-click on the map network-icon in the systray and access the properties of the network adapter for vmnet2
-Disable all other protocols and the Protocol of vmware_bridge for this network adapter
result: a virtual machine that uses vmnet2 can directly access the internet and the host has no IP address for this network adapter - and therefore cannot use it.

Partition is not on the local machine
Hey guys,.
So an old machine to Windows XP of my friends just died, but the hard drive is still intact. I wanted to take the hard drive and create a virtual machine from him on my computer because it has some old games I have modded that used to run on newer versions of windows. I chose powered on the Local computer and my destination, but in the next window, there all the partitions on all my selected hard drives, but the one I need. I can uncheck all others, including other external hard drives that I use for stuff like itunes. The partition of the old XP machine will not be displayed. He is not corrupt, as I can use it as an external and access all my old files without error
My question is, is there a different way, I'll have to do the conversion, or I'm going to have to fix the old machine and I can convert it on the network?
Thank you!
OK, let me first correct a mistake that I made - workstation allows you to create a virtual machine with a hard drive external. However, it must be connected before WS (I tried the other way yesterday).
Also, let me remind that - you can't do a P2V with this disk without booting from it. Converter must recognize the volume system and make reconfiguration; only, this can happen when you convert your local machine. You can try although V2V by creating a VM wrapper in my computer. I don't know if you have WS. If this isn't the case, I'm not sure whether the player can do this thing. You may need to check this.
In fact, there is a way to converter see external drives - there is an option in the converter - Worker.XML (thanks to POCEH for reminding me that I forgot). Looking for plugins/converter_agent/skipRemovableDisks; It must be set to 'true', then restarted service worker. Converter - Worker.xml is located in "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone"
And finally (and above all), there is something suspicious in the other USB drive appears and XP do not show. Either the option above is disabled and converter has detected somehow as local (strange) or enabled (unlikely?) and the XP disk is damaged and cannot be read. Run a check if necessary.
HTH and greetings,
Plamen
Addendum: Hmm, after trying that with a flash stick he appeared that conversion failed at the beginning of the cloning with 'Impossible to open the source disk'. Unfortunately I have no idea why :-(
Too bad, it looked like a nice hack...

Network lost after restart of host settings
I have vcenter that works as a virtual machine on host #1 (vsphere 4.1 u1)
I used vcenter to configure networking on the host #1 and was able to connect to the San and run a virtual machine of the SAN.
About 10-15 minutes later, I stop the virtual machine of vcenter, put the host in maintenance mode and rebooted the host.
After startup, the host no longer has network (vswitches, iscsi, config, etc.) settings and as such, cannot see SAN data warehouses.
I do not understand why this has happened.
I had already installed 4.1 on my other 2 hosts literally 10 minutes before it happened, and now I have an unpleasant feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Using ESX or ESXi?
Because ESXi works in the virtual disk, and it updated the config files not in real time.

Disable the network interface on a virtual machine
Hello all-
Is there a way to disable the network interface on the network adapter in the virtual machine? We have a group of applications who want to simulate a network in collaboration with MSCS failure - I don't necessarily agree with the fact that this type of test, but try to determine if this is possible from the functional point of view.
Our ESX host have networks of virtual machine set up off the coast of 4 port nic mezzanine card, and I don't want to touch the VM network vswitch as any part of this test.
Thanks for any help you can provide-
Steve
Is there a way to disable the network interface on the network adapter in the virtual machine?
Yes, in the virtual machine settings, for each NIC assigned to the virtual machine you will find a checkbox 'connected '. Unchecking it's like pulling the network cable.

Specify a physical NETWORK adapter to a virtual machine
It is a fundamental issue, or it was in VMware Server 1.x, but in v2.x options may not be available. Here's what I do:
I have a physical host with 3 different network interface cards installed. I want to configure the vNIC on each of my 2 mV at one of the physical network cards, so they each have their own. In VMware server 1.x I would install a vmnet # for each NETWORK adapter and then configure each virtual computer to use one of the new vmnet I set everything up. VMware Server 2, I can still set up since both vnet (one for each NETWORK card), but when I go to change settings of NETWORK adapter in the virtual machine, I have three options (Bridged, host-only and NAT). Two of these two new vnets are "bridge", but I need to specify a fo the vnet jumpered for each.
I know I must be missing something very simple, do not hesitate to point out my mistake. Thank you!
What is your host operating system? If Windows, run the virtual network Editor (vmnetcfg.exe) announces the administrator, disable the automatic bypass and map each physical NIC to another VMNet adapter * in the tab "virtual host network address." If Linux, run /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl (it will take your virtual machines off / suspension) and choose to create more than one Bridged network when you are prompted, choosing different logical names and specitying eth0, eth1, eth2 or whatever they are called.
Then in the virtual machine, they must appear in the drop-down list for the card that you have.

HP Premium - why 'Properties of the wireless network' did not appear in the settings!
Hi, I have updated the firmware on my HP Calculator first, and since then "wireless network properties" have disappeared from the settings. Basically, there are four pages of settings and now there are only three!
On the other hand, the emulator yet I have this option available on page four of the parameters, as well as the wireless icon on the title bar next to the time (on the upper right corner of the scree).
Anyone know what's the problem? Why my emulator has the option but the calculator itself not?
Thank you

Hello
The problem is that the material of NW280AA does not support:
Since the notes version 6031:
"1. When you use HP StreamSmart 410 (NW278AA), the graphic calculator HP first (G8X92AA) now provides the power supply via the USB port."
This power would probably be necessary for the device wireless also.
(only compatible with the http://h20195.www2.hp.com/V2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA5-4132ENW.pdf of America G8X92AA)
This we can assume that nw280aa does not provide the necessary power, lacks any firmware that tries to use anyway.
If this feature is important to you, I suggest you only to contact HP for a replacement.
Best regards.

Unable to find the devices on the network of field
Hello
I'm currently setting up a network of field. The problem I have is:
After the reboot of the PS-2000, everything starts up as usual, but after 15 seconds, the A, B, C, D LEDs do not turn off, and READY LEDs on the IO modules never turn on. The STATUS LED does not blink, there is no specific errors. The POWER LEDS on the set of the modules is on. I am unable to use the FIND FEATURES within the NOT-MAX, a 'Connection Timed Out' (or something to that effect) error message occurs.
I have correctly configured an IP address on the PS-2000, I am able to view the files on the Flash using the FTP transfer in NOR-MAX, I updated the Firmware LabVIEW RT v7.0.0. I tried to reinstall the firmwar
e and resetting the PS-2000, but nothing helped.To simplify the issue, I unplugged the PS-2000 from the rest of the basics of connection. I inspected the
pine trees on the side of the module and they looked fine. I couldn't find all other versions of the Firmware for the PS-2000 on the NI download site, just in case my version has been altered. With this configuration, the A, B, C, D LEDs are still on, and the FIND DEVICES (not that there there) always times out.Then I tried to plug in a FP-TB-10 (with only input modules out there, so that there would be no external power required), and I still have the same problems.
Material used:
PS-2000
-2 * FP - TB - 10 popular with a mix of I/AO/DI/DO
FP-QUAD-510
-FP-PG-522Power supply:
-Kepco power out 16 VDC and approximately 0.4 A (+ terminal connected to V and neutral terminal connected to C)Software used:
-LabVIEW Professional 7 with RT
-MAX 3.0Unfortunately most
the user manuals still refer to the field Point, as opposed to the NOT-MAX Explorer.Any suggestions for my experiences above would be welcome! Is there anywhere I can download the firmware Lv7.0.0 RT? Everyone knows about similar problems with LV7?
Thank you!
I will answer this myself!
The issue proved to be a limited set of software installed on the FP2000. When I was installing the software, setting up NO-MAX, the only available software is LabVIEW RT v7.0.0.
When you install the software (from NOR-MAX) on the ps2000 for the first time, the following text should be available:
-Control environment FieldPoint
-Manager of VI FieldPoint
-LabVIEW RT
-RT OR Serial
NI-VISA
OR-WatchdogIf none of them are not available, the module PS, or downloadable from the NOT-MAX, then not all device drivers have been installed on the PC.
Use your device provided with LabVIEW drivers CD to install all the necessary drivers of RT.

Try to change several network adapters on a virtual machine
Here's what I have to change several virtual machines with an adapter:
$test5 = import-Csv C:\test5.csv
{foreach ($vm to $test5)
$server = $vm.name
$networkname = $vm.networkname
Write-host "Changing $server to the new $networkname network.
Get - VM $server | Get-NetworkAdapter | Together-NetworkAdapter - networkname $networkname - confirm: $false
# #Start Server
Write-Host "Made from $server"
Start-VM $server - confirm: $false
Write-Host "complete!"
}
It looks like a spreadsheet with the name of a column and networkname in the other and sets the adapter accordingly. It works so much that there is only one network adapter to set... for example if there is a virtual machine with vlan1 for 3 network cards on a virtual machine, it will define all 3 cards to the vlan 1, but if a network card is different from vlan 1 it will fail. How to fix a vm with multiple NICs? I tried to separate them by a comma, but he doesn't like it. Any ideas?
You can add additional columns in your CSV file.
Something like that
Name, NetworkName1, NetworkName2, NetworkName3
VM1, net1, net2 net3
VM2, net1, net1 net1
Then, you can change the code something like this
$test5 = import-Csv C:\test5.csv
{foreach ($vm to $test5)
$server = $vm.name
Get - VM $server | Get-NetworkAdapter | %{
if($_.) {Name - eq '1 network card')}
Together-NetworkAdapter - NetworkAdapter $_ - NetworkName $vm.networkname1 - confirm: $false
}
ElseIf ($_.) {Name - eq "Adapter 2")}
Together-NetworkAdapter - NetworkAdapter $_ - NetworkName $vm.networkname2 - confirm: $false
}
ElseIf ($_.) {Name - eq "3 network adapter")}
Together-NetworkAdapter - NetworkAdapter $_ - NetworkName $vm.networkname3 - confirm: $false
}
}
Write-host "Changing $server to the new $networkname network.
# #Start Server
Write-Host "Made from $server"
Start-VM $server - confirm: $false
Write-Host "complete!"
}

At present the time Windows 7 SP1 is not a host or guest for VMware Desktop product operating system support , and there has been numerous reports of issues after applying SP1 in Windows 7.
I don't know if this will help or not, but look: Re: VMware Workstation 7.1.3 and Windows 7 SP1

Assign an individual ethernet NETWORK adapter to a virtual machine
Hi all
We wish you a new year filled with joy and happiness.
I just install ESX 4.1.0 and vsphere 4.1.0.
I have a couple of additional NIC cards available in the ESX Server. I would like to assign to each VM.
I have configured the virtual switch as "vswitch0" and all additional NIC cards appear on this switch. But I couldn't find a way to permanently assign a NETWORK adapter to a virtual machine specific.
I have 3 NICs and I intend to have 3 VM.
Anyone can guide me please.
Thank you
Krishna
An option is to create 3 virtual machine port groups and assign each virtual machine to one of them. In the configuration of the port group, set a NIC to 'Active' and the other two to 'Sleep'. In this way each VM uses a dedicated NETWORK card and - failure - switches to one of the others.

Trying to count the number of network adapters on the virtual machines
Hi all
Have tried to create a script to simply count the number of network adapters in a virtual machine? In all honesty, don't have a clue where to start? I don't know there are a number of 'ownership' but can't seem to figure out how I can integrate this counting cards network
Thank you very MUCH in advance
Munster
Try this way
$vms = Get-VM foreach ($vm in $vms) { $vm | Select @{N = "VMName"; E = {$vm.name} }, @{N = "VMNICCount"; E = {$vm.Networkadapters.count} } }
Inside of the foreach loop, you select in each $vm name and County NIC.

Developer version on the local machine has crashed
My version of devloper on the local machine has crashed.
How should I to get him back?
I need uninstall it and download again from the adobe web site, or I can install one on top this one?
If I uninstall all premises and configuration web sites as source of data will be gone?
Your information and help is much appreciated,
Kind regards
Iccsi,
Yes, I would stop all services that begin with "10 ColdFusion". Copy the own .xml file in the lib folder, and then restart the services. Connect to the CF Administrator and reconfigure data sources. Once you have configured and working, I would like to make a copy of the .xml file in case it is corrupted again.
