    Host-Only is VMnet1, you used only NAT. static use of intellectual property and switch to DHCP for now. Make sure that the VMWare DHCP Server service is running. Put network cards in comments to "host-only '.

    Post your host ' ipconfig/all'.

  • How to share a variable between the Mathscript Windows and a Mathscript node

    Hello

    I'm trying to share (just) a variable between the Mathscript Windows and a Mathscript node. I don't know why, but the use of the "global" Matlab function makes the mathscript node output formats change.

    I'm looking for a "Mathscript RT V9.0.1 module" as it may seem, there is. French technical support have some difficulty to find...

    Hi patrick33,.

    The code that you have attached should not report an error, so it seems that something has gone wrong with your installation of MathScript. My best guess is that it is the problem that is described in this knowledge base article. Your signature says that you use f3 patch, which is a good start. But the KB lists some other steps to take when you see errors about MathScript, impossible to compile. Can you try the procedure described in the article and let us know if that fixes the problem?

  • What is the interval of time between the virtual machine Linux and ESXi host synchronization?

    I have ESX5.0 with a centos6 installed on this linux virtual machine.

    After the installation of vmware for Linux virtual machine tools, I activated the time synchronization between the virtual machine linux and ESXi host through vmware-toolbox-cmd.

    I wonder what is the interval of time between the virtual machine linux and ESXi host synchronization? If I quickly time OS system, when the OS system time will sync back to the ESXi host?

    According to http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/Timekeeping-In-VirtualMachines.pdf:

    By default, the demon checks the guest only once per minute operating system clock.

    However, depending on whether the guest is behind or in front of the result is different. So, please read the section "periodic synchronization" (at least) in the document mentioned above.

  • No network connection between the virtual machines on different hosts ESXi

    I have several 5.0 ESXi hosts in a cluster managed by vCenter Server 5 and I have network problems:

    1. [Host A] running a virtual machine can ping any other computer virtual running on the [host A] great!
    2. A virtual machine running on host [B] can ping any other virtual machine running on [B] home - very well!
    3. [host A] (from the ESXi console) can ping any virtual machine running on [B] home - even better!
    4. [B] home (from the ESXi console) can ping any virtual machine running [host A] - beautiful set!
    5. A virtual machine running [host A] can not ping any virtual computer running on host [B] and vice versa - bad, very bad!

    So basically the problem is that the virtual machines can communicate on hosts. It is a major problem that I need to fix, for obvious reasons.

    Networking on all hosts is configured exactly the same way: a unique and standard vSwitch with a pair of gigabit network cards grouped, vmkernels configured for the vMotion, NFS and network management and a group of ports configured for the VIRTUAL local area network used by the VMs. (vMotion works fine on hosts, storage vMotion works very well too.) All virtual machines are servers Windows (2003 and 2008).

    Reason #3 and #4 above, my assumption is that #5 must be the result of an ESXi/vCenter configuration issue and not a problem with the switches of material upstream. Is this a reasonable assumption?

    Whatever it is, can anyone offer suggestions on how can I fix? It is quite annoying as I'm pretty sure that these hosts are configured in the same manner as those of our production cluster, which does not at all these problems!

    Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

    To be honest, it looks like a problem with your physical network-

    How is the physical network configured - are NIC connects it to the same physical switches? Are the virtual machines on the same subnet? If this is not the case, they are able to ping the gateway sbnet? Can you piing host IP address from the virtual machines?

    I also moved it to a forum more approiate.

  • Only use the Thunderbolt port in the virtual Windows machine

    Hello world!

    I'm running a Macbook pro with a Win OSX 7 VM to work - we are currently on a split network when you access WWW on Wifi and undertaken by Ethernet through the thunderbolt connection.

    When you plug the cable Thunderbolt in, it disables our Wifi (so that we can fill the Wifi and the access of the company)

    Is it not possible to set up the computer so that the Thunderbolt port is only seen in the virtual machine (Windows) and OSX using the wifi only?

    That would mean I could have two separate work stations, an OSX with WWW access and Windows with business access, which would be extremely useful?

    I lived the preferences, but as soon as I disable the Thunderbolt OSX port it disables it on Windows as well!

    Any help gratefully received!

    You can do all this, I do it all day long.

    On the Mac, the "top" of your list interface is considered to be the main route of access and the host will forward the traffic it is there until he can't, and he then tries other interfaces.

    So, just to pay for the order of Service so that your WiFi is at the top.

    Then you can use the merger to specify the Thunderbolt interface to fill in.

    This allows Windows to use the bolt of lightning, and the Mac continues to use the WiFi.

    You an also save the config in a 'location', which are accessible from the Apple menu to quickly switch between configs. (i.e. specific vs)

  • Device on the network of the virtual machine online.

    Hello

    Is this possible with VMware Workstation (v7.1.4) to put in place a device that online on the network s? I ve searched for an answer but have not got good ideas how to solve, if possible. I ve found today called transparent bridge, but these discussions have been associated with ESXi that I not use my VM machines on.

    The idea is to implement an IPS that captures the traffic online (two network cards) and not with a passive listening mode unique network card.

    I will attach a layout for you to get a better view of what I want to implement, but basically it s like I want to do :---([eth2] 3D2500 [eth3]) (router)-(switch). Same VM network between router/eth2 and eth3/switch.

    Explanation of the features in the attached presentation:

    Router - running with Ubuntu installed on a host.
    3 2500 - running Sourcefire IPS with interface 4. Management and two for online solution.
    Servers - run Windows XP or Ubuntu.

    Ethernet in the VMX file settings are as follows:

    ethernet0. Present = 'TRUE '.
    ethernet0. ConnectionType = "custom".
    ethernet0.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE".
    ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000".

    Ethernet1. Present = 'TRUE '.
    Ethernet1. ConnectionType = "custom".
    Ethernet1.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE".
    Ethernet1. AddressType = 'generated '.
    Ethernet1.virtualDev = "e1000".

    ethernet2. Present = 'TRUE '.
    ethernet2. ConnectionType = "custom".
    ethernet2.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE".
    ethernet2. AddressType = 'generated '.
    ethernet2.virtualDev = "e1000".

    ethernet3. Present = 'TRUE '.
    ethernet3. ConnectionType = "custom".
    ethernet3.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE".
    ethernet3. AddressType = 'generated '.
    ethernet3.virtualDev = "e1000".

    ethernet0.VNET = "VMnet4.
    Ethernet1.VNET = "VMnet4.
    ethernet2.VNET = "VMnet2.
    ethernet3.VNET = "VMnet2.

    Does anyone have a good idea how to fix this?

  • Unexpected events of the virtualized Windows Cluster Failover?

    I'm running into a problem where I see the unexpected events of failover on a cluster failover of Server 2008 running on four hosts ESXi 4.1.  ESXi hosts themselves are not grouped.  Each ESXi host running a single Server 2008 VM.  Each virtual machine has the latest version of VMware tools installed.

    The problem is that, once every two days or more, one of the nodes in the Windows cluster release out of the cluster without apparent reason, which triggered a failover event.  So far we have not identified any root cause in any component of our infrastructure (eg. network switches etc.).  The VM guest that always falls out of the cluster during these unexpected failovers joined the cluster after a few minutes or more.  In the event of failure, the virtual machine that injects seems quite good other than the event of failure of the cluster (for example, the virtual machine does not drop even pings).  In addition, it is always a different VM that we see this problem with, it is not always the same.

    Any ideas on what could cause this problem?  The thesis that we have currently is that there could be some problems with the cluster questions missed by Windows during the card NETWORK active/active configuration that we have on the vSwitches on the back-end.  We plan to change that active/passive.  VMware's recommendations one way or another?

    I already read the article below as well as VMware MSCS on vSphere 4.1 guide, but none of them seem to deal specifically with underlying vSwitch configuration.  Any input on that?  Ideas on the thing we should look at?  Thanks for the help!

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1002890

    Ahh, so that's another problem.

    In the guide 4.1 MSCS, 'section, vSphere MSCS Setup Limitations limitation', he States:

    With native multipathing (NMP), clustering is not taken in charge when the strategy of path is set to round robin.

  • NAT network between the host ESX with DVS

    Hello.

    In my test of vSphere 4, I have two ESX hosts. I want to share an IP address between all the virtual machines on these two ESX hosts. In this regard, I have a virtual machine that acts as a NAT router. This virtual machine has two network that is connected to each their own vNetwork Distributed Switch connection. We have a physical NIC (on each ESX host) which has the Internet connection. The other has no physical network connection.

    To test if it works I created a VM test on both ESX hosts. The system works on the virtual machine that is on the same ESX host as the virtual machine that acts as a NAT router is located, but not the virtual machine on the other ESX host. The other VM have no contact with the router and receives no DHCP data.

    Any suggestions? I know I did something wrong because DVS is new to me, but I really want this to work.

    Hello

    That ends up being a vNetwork design more than anything even with vDS. For example, if you have a NAT that works for all your hosts you would then have a NAT virtual appliance such as:

    PSwitch external network <->Teddy <->vSwitch <->vPG <->NAT VM <->vPG <->vSwitch <->Teddy <->network internal pSwitch

    Now the vSwitches in the above can be traditional vSwitches or vDS' the key is that the "seconds" vSwitch must be connected on the same vSwitch on all other hosts, so it has an uplink to a physical switch that is also connected to all other hosts. vDS does NOT lighten your vNetwork is the need of cable to allow the communication of the VM.

    The VM NAT can move from host to host as long as there is communication to this virtual machine on each host on each network in this case, the external network and internal.

    I don't know if this has been posted before, but I'll provide my contact information and appreciate the help.

    I have Windows 7 (32 bit) on the desktop connected to Windows Vista Home Premium (64) on laptop via the cable network. On laptop, I am running XP Pro SP3 on a virtual machine. While I can access a shared folder on the desktop via the laptop, in the virtual when I go to the computers in the workgroup, and even if I see the same files and printers shared on the laptop, when I click on one of them, I get a message that
    Desktop\Documents is not accessible. In the virtual, I have connected network bridged with replication verified physical network connection status. On the desktop and portable (host), I can access folders in the virtual (name-letters and numbers). The shared folder on the desktop is shared to everyone. What Miss me?
