New computer stuck on updates
Hi all
Long history here. Yesterday, I got a problem when Windows could not configure updates. Then he got stuck trying to undo the changes after that restart and tries several times, I decided to try a restored system that also failed.
And then has decided to reinstall Windows completely and finally got my system working again. After having reinstalled the drivers needed, I started to search for Windows updates, today I found that there are 171 new updates, I knew that I would not be able to download it all at once, so I tried to download a block of 40. I let him do it more than an hour and a half and he never go beyond 0% or 0 KB. That I decided to try the community I am a novice, so I did not run any scans or execute any system error.
Please run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:

Please provide details of any problem it reports as not fixed.

How can I re CS6 license to a new computer to be updated when the former disappeared. I work in a secure facility and all computers do not have an internet connection. I'm used to be able to activate offline. but now activation invalid response code invalid serial No. says offline. I was on a chat with someone at Adobe, I guess, and they said that they did not support offline activation more. So, if I can't activate my copy 7 cs6 my company is thousands of dollars. Can anyone help
Joe
Consider that it is licensed to the company? If so your IT people should have a way to apply activation during the installation code, but my IT group did this, so I don't really know details. I know that Adobe has stopped support for licenses of the company last June, I think. However, you should be able to get an answer on how to do this, since you have paid for the software. I will pass this message on the forum of company CS to see if anyone knows more than the person with whom you spoke.

My new computer has more updates of windows when I try to shut down my computer.
I have a new (less than a week) computer with 1 g memory. Whenever I go to stop the computer it says that I've updated, I do not think a lot, but every day there are more updates, there are 28. I'm a little worried, because I can't stop to update and I don't know what they are for. I haven't added anything except Adobe Flash player with McAfee to play a game on Facebook.
Jane,
Try step 1: perform a clean boot as shown here:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7See if the updates install in clean boot state. If they do, then it is probably interference of 3rd party software that is originally from the slow update installation problem. The most likely candidate would be McAfee or other security software.

Brand new computer and Windows Update offers updates of pilot
I received a custom build e9280t yesterday and did the thing of the installation and migration. Windows Update offers already updates for the ATI Radeon HD 4850 video card and JMicron JMB36X controller. I guess I have several questions.
1 can I install drivers provided by Windows Update
2 How often should I update drivers?
3. in the case of the video card should I update from Windows Update or ATI?
4. If I install ATI should I install the ' ATI Catalyst™ 9.11 Suite for Windows 7 (64 bit) "or simply thedriver only option of the ATI Catalyst™ 9.11 components for Windows 7 (64 bit)?
I have a card ATI video in a long time and the outcome of pilot and the options have always confused me with what must be downloaded and installed.
Thanks for any help.

John, here are the answers to your questions:
(1) Yes, I would. I wonder however, no offer to update your BIOS before checking further. Updated HP has been known to be incorrect. A failed BIOS flash makes it an expensive boat anchor.
(2) update as soon as there is a new driver. Manufacturers use updates to fix problems.
(3) it's up to you. I don't think that HP makes changes of owners of the video cards in their computers. So, if it were me, I would use those ATI/AMD.
(4) go with the 'Software Suite '. This includes some cool utilities to adjust your map. One of the features that I like is "Overdrive". It allows you to overclock the card and adjust the speed of the fan on the fly. I'm still using XP Pro SP3, but the last consequence works very well with my 4870 XXX 1 GB.
I hope this info is useful.

I have a Toshiba satellite c650 laptop running Windows 7. This phone has not been used for 4 years. It lights ok no problem and I installed McAfee first job and then tried windows updates. The machine was check the updates for nearly 48 hours. Everything he said checks the updates. What should do? Stop checking and just continue?
Just to keep things simple.
1. stop the updates.
2 remove or disable the AV update controls 100 s of files and each of them will be checked by the VA as well more than double the scanning process. Then when the updates are applied each replaced file will get swept also to continue the task
3 restart the computer
4 disable power saving
5 start Windows update and let him, he'll get there.

ASUS computer stuck on "update your system (2%). "when booting
All other initialize the blue menu of Windows Recovery appears and allows me to 'reset' and 'Refresh' and access 'advanced options '.
I can't update because of 'lack of space'. I have 5 GB available and I was able to boot the computer with less available space before.
Someone knows how can I fix? Basically I can't access my computer, and I don't want any more preferably to reset.
Thank you.
Hello
Thanks for posting the query on the Microsoft Community Forums.
What is the brand and model of the computer?
I suggest that disconnect you all external devices except the keyboard and mouse and restart the computer and verify if you are able to boot to the desktop.
If you are not able to boot to the desktop, after that you disconnect all external devices, then try the following steps.
1. stop the laptop by press and hold the power button / stop computers laptops until it stops.
2. now, you will run a cold start by pressing the power button to start the laptop.
3. watch for a minute or two, while it starts. Now, you will always have a blue screen (planned).
4. press the button to power again. This time 'not' press.
5. the laptop must stop mode of hibernation if you do not see that.
6. press the power button once again to perform a warm start. The laptop should boot to the desktop.Let us know the update after trying the steps above.

When I tried to install Firefox on your site, I was rather directed to a download 'Nocturne '. I look it is strange that the name of Firefox had suddenly changed, but installed. I'm sorry now that I did. I'm tired of the incessant interruptions for "updates". I want to just that replace you with the stable version of Firefox.
Oops, how did this happen?
You should be able to get the latest stable version of Firefox here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

I used to have Photoshop and Illustrator on my old computer. I stopped using this computer and bought a new one. I logged into my Adobe account and tried to download the Plan you have for $39.99, which gets you all the programs, but it took me to a page that says that I have an account and I need to update my payment method. I've updated my payment method and now I want to download Photoshop on my new computer. What should I do now?

updates to Windows 8 on brand new computer
Hello
I just unpacked a brand new Acer Aspire. I understand that it is preloaded with 8 64-bit windows. The windows store said I could upgrade to windows 8.1 but I should update windows 8 first. I changed the settings, update manually and searched the updates of windows 8 that were a little more than 100. I asked to install 87failed them, but about. I could get on the desktop and the glance at the history of the update - clearly says update failed. Tried troubleshooting windows update which said it corrects a problem with admin rights and tried again. Same result - impossible to download anything, just stuck on the download screen. Searched your forums and have now tried a system restore before the effort to update at all. I'm a little afraid of what to do then - seems like my brand new computer is screwed up in 4 hours! Grateful for the advice...
System a i5 processor, 500 GB hard drive... Seems to have McAfee on this too - have not disabled because it would be on automatic updates. The only thing I did on this topic before you try the updates was to set up my windows account (I have already one and if it was just a matter of putting on this computer that worked)
Please see "answer" below for more information - do not seem to be able to edit this post until I had posted a response...?
Hello
You only really need the KB2871389 update... Upgrade to Win 8.1 will take care of the rest...
BTW... Be sure to create some Recovery\Reinstallation support that is available on your machine...
Once you go to 8.1 win the built-in functionality your machine to FACTORY Recover\Restore most likely will not work...
Since you already had to do a system restore, you may just want to factory restore now, but burn the media first... Then you will start fresh.
Also... more pre-installed OS are the original version, so the more you buy a machine after the first version you can expect to need updates for each month that goes by...
Once a Service Pack is released the latest machines can have, and update the counter starts again.
8.1 win is not called a Service Pack, but it's basically the same thing...
One more thing... it is a very bad idea to try to install 100 updates at a time. It should work, but in reality, it is a disaster to delay... Especially when the .net Framework updates are in the mix...
Do first in groups of the same version and let your CPU usage back to 0%, before doing anything.
Don't even make a required reboot until it happens. There is a background installation that spans a long time after their installation that same Windows Update says that they are finished. They are not

I have a new computer with disk 3 TB initially space. I have now available 2.60 TB. I have this simple little card game that has an update of 207 MB of available space required. Whenever I try to load it, it says "program file can not be updated because of insufficient disk space". The original game loaded just fine but not the update. I wrote to the company that has given me a standard introductory text on turn off my antivirus which is nothing to do with my problem. Someone else has encountered this and if yes, what is your work-around? I am trying to load it on the C drive with my game so am loading at the right side of the road.
I solved my problem. I went back to my computer and I went back to my reliable want 700-074 also having windows installed 10. My little program works very well and I was able to update the program. This program was one of the many problems with this computer.

I have 20 windows updates failed on my new computer with code 80072EFD and tried everything I know. Its still new with few programs on it so I could do another full system restore if I have to. I also have a free windows 7 for this computer that is always on its way. If I fix this now I will do all that again?

As for your 2nd question about the updates of Windows - Win 7 If you run Norton, you might have a problem. It can accept updates for Vista, but when you upgrade to Windows 7 it does not updates allow.

new computer - no updates.
Just bought a new computer with Vista. The ' Check for Updates ' button is disabled in Windows update and automatic updates will not activate. Anyone else had this?
Still did not work (running the batch file above got "not started to treat" errors), then, because the only thing that I had installed at this point was the antivirus, I decided to go the recovery disks. Who got it. Thanks for trying.

original title: lack of RAM
McAfee, unable to update as the only security base 256 and 512 MB of RAM required. As the computer is old and slow it is better to increase the RAM or better to invest in a new computer update. Would appreciate help in this case. Also as I'm pretty computer illiterate, please use the terms that I can follow. Thank you
Hi Kathleen Almeida,.
Because the computer is old, instead of upgrading the ram, you can buy new computer. I suggest you contact system manufacturer more about if you need to upgrade or buy a new computer.
