• HP never will issue a driver Windows 7 for Color Laserjet 3500

  When I did installs it of Win 7 months ago, my 3500 worked and could be shared.  When I had to do an install of Win 7 a few days ago, I lost the support of this printer.  All the facilities were "upgrades" to XP.  He worked for months.

  I must be printing color later this week.  My HP laserjet 5000 printer has been supported for 15 years.  The 3500, 6 years then nothing.  Everyone at HP can give me a good reason to buy their printers never again?

  PS, none of the workarounds posted here work for the 3500.  Note that none of the 3500 inquueries are "resolved".

  So, no reason to not to drop this 3500 in a trash can and go Ricoh HP forever?

  HP will selectively issue loyalty or product drivers for OS updates, based on cost considerations rather than questions of customer lifecycle.

  The positive side to that is that I'll save a lot of money in the future, now that I know that HP loyalty is one-way.  Now I can shop strictly on the life-cycle cost and performance!

  The universal print driver that runs on Windows 10 (64-bit) does not recognize on my Color Laserjet 2605dn duplex printing function. drivers passed under older versions of Windows enabled this setting on the Advanced tab.

  Is there a way to enable or UPD grants only limited functionality and does not support the duplex feature?

  in devices and printers click on the right button the printer UPD icon and select printer properties.

  In the device settings tab, verify that the accessory set duplex as installed and check for the difference.

  The default value is the duplexer is set to "not installed".  Go to the devices folder and printers, right click on the 2605, select printer properties, the device settings and set theduplex "installed" unit, apply.

  I unplugged and moved the printer and color went gray scale - have tried to printer properties and clicked on all the tabs - there is no selection output color.  I have XP.   Thank you.

  I could download the universal print driver that solves the problem.  Apparently, I had a postscript driver causing the problem.   Thank you

  I have a Color Laserjet 2605dn, and all of the color ink cartridges have run dry. However the black cartridge has more than 2,000 pages of ink in the printer and it won't let me prink only black and white. It seems that the color cartridges must also have ink in them so that the printer to print. Does anyone know a work around so that I can print with the black cartridge and not buy color cartridges?

• Facility host on driver of the HP Color Laserjet 1500 (Windows XP) for website

  Hi all

  I bought a used without the original CDROM Color Laserjet 1500 printer. I downloaded the driver from hp.com, but I am unable to install it. There is no configuration file included, and when I connect the printer ask me to select the driver. When I connect the printer with the USB cable, get a message that a USB device is connected but not installed and can not be used.

  How to install the driver for this printer? Thanks in advance for any help.

  Basically, you will have to manually install the printer by clicking on start-settings-printers-add the new printer and follow the instructions in the wizard to the printer. My knowledge is limited with these commercial printers. For the best chance of finding a solution, I suggest to post questions in the forum for HP Business Support.

• Unable to print on Windows 8 with Color Laserjet 1600

  I installed DOT4x64.msi on my new laptop HP Windows 8, since this seems to be the only average current to connect my Color Laserjet 1600. The printer will now appear in the section "Devices and Printers" Control Panel.  But when I try to print something, I get an error message that says that I can't print to the printer. I spent nearly an hour on the phone with HP support with no resolution - in fact, after all this time, I was told "this Department does not support this printer!.» Any ideas on a solution here? Thank you!

• HP Color Laserjet 2605dn: Print is washed out/completely wilted on printer 2605dn

  We have a Laserjet 2605dn HP color printer has intermittent printing problems. Most of the time, the quality of the printed output is very well, but from time to time, the print quality deteriorates completely. After a while, printing then returned back its normal quality.

  The printer is on a network and serves as WIndows XP/7/8/10 and Linux machines as it has throughout his life. He has never had a genuine HP toner cartridges installed. It is not heavily used, we print usually less than 100 pages per week, often less.

  The problem is that out of all the colors and black, gets so bad as to be unreadable. The printed output is so washed out it's (almost) impossible to read anything through the entire page. This can happen for all the pages of an entire document, but often it will print the first part of a multipage fine print job and then the quality deteriorates gradually to illegibility. Subsequent print jobs will also sometimes unreadable, but are also likely to print correctly. There seems to be trigger (that we can determine) this behavior or when it will happen well.

  While the printer was used for a few years, he printed out a little more than 20 000 pages in total. This leads me to think that age should not be a problem. We replaced all the cartridges, tried recalibration, print cleaning pages, all without success. I found a solution for a problem of fading Magenta also requires cleaning the mirrors, but our problem is not that same as - everything fades to nothing in our printer, it is not a case of a single color fade a little, is much more radical than that.

  Suggestions as to how we could solve this problem? Is there additional information that might help diagnose the cause and suggest a fix?

  It looks like I won't get my hands dirty inside this printer after all. The boss decided it would probably be too annoying overall for me (US) to try to fix it. So he decided to buy a new color printer and remove it.

  Can someone help me to replace what seems to be a faulty cartridge? I could find absolutely no information on how to do it on HP's Support website to the regular address.

  Q6003A magenta toner cartridge prints very light. Looks pink instead of magenta. This is true even on the 'Page State supplies", which shows the level of toner to 74%: Pages printed with this power supply: 418; Rest of approximate Pages: 1189. I have 'shaken gently"the magenta cartridge without result, and I see no flaws on the drum. 'Cleaning' running mode did not help; He only printed black. The other three cartridges all show them a solid color, so I deduce that there is a problem with the magenta cartridge itself.

  See below. The title and the area around it are supposed to be "Purple"; There should be a (not complete magenta) rose "2605dn" to the right of the printer "HP Color LaserJet.

  Any suggestions as to how to get this replaced would be greatly appreciated.

  

  You do not have a faulty cartridge, you have a dusty mirror in scanner Assembly laser.

  You will find the instructions on how to disassemble the printer and clean the mirror through various sources online and probably even in the forums.

  The index that identifies your problem is melted magenta from left to right.

  If you decide to take the machine apart and clean the flat mirror handle cables very gently then reconnect the very carefully.

There are a lot of .inf files in the directory. I had no idea which one I should choose.   One supports network connections, the other being a pilot plug-and-play (PnP) is configured to initialize and works with a USB connection.

  On printer I print test pages and chech color and everything is fine.

  But whan print from my PC, so I can only print in black?

  The option you want on the driver's grayscale printing, if it is checked, then uncheck the box.

• HP Color LaserJet 2605dn: 2605 HP prints in black

  After changing a blue and yellow cartridge, printer flashing but not print and not of documents in the print queue. NVRAM and Super NVRAM but still wouldn't print.  Configuration of network in the menu report (I'm not on a network, just a USB port on my computer) and supplies Status Page printed fine.  Tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling anything does not. After trying to reports menu print a text page simple and solid black on 90% of the page was printed, no text.  After a few minutes, printer would print a blank page with only the following on this subject: GET /DevMgmt/DiscoveryTree.xml HTTP/1.1 Host: 127.0.0.1:8080.

  I looked at the pdf page to reset but return of my printer does not match the pdf page and I could not find any hole or test switch.

  It was working fine!  Until I changed two cartridges and the black cartridge is still 3/4 full.  I read on other posts on scanners goes wrong, but this seems very strange to happen suddenly after just changing the cartridge.  Can anyone suggest something before you buy a new printer.  Thank you.

  Update on the problem - the cause is not identified and I can assume only it had something to do with the Windows operating system rather than a fatal accident of mechanics in the printer.

  I was out of town for a week, the printer was not hooked; and I bought another printer HP in the meantime to be able to print (LaserJet Pro 400 which I am extremely satisfied).  HP support person called me on my cell phone while I was traveling and I asked that he call me when I'll be back and he said it would be and gave me a date and a time so I'd be available.  In anticipation of his call, when I got home, I connected the printer to my Win 7 Home laptop (64 bit) to test and it printed without fail!  No sign of the original problem.

  So what - the?  Some driver in Windows suddenly Act?  Who knows.  But the printer print documents and photos with no sign of problem.  So maybe a solution to some printer problems is unplug the printer, don't use it for a few days, plug it again and see if the problem recurrs.

  In the meantime, I am so happy with the b & w LaserJet Pro 400 that it became my main printer and I'm reserving the color HP 2605 for instances when I need color.

  Consider my problem solved unless I am writing again she reappears!
