New E420s slow - removal of bloat of Lenovo?

I had an E420s less than a month ago. It has always been a little slow to start and sometimes when switching between windows and whatnot. I thought it might be preloaded millions of lenovo bloatware that came and for some reason, it is more than 100 processes running at any time.

It bothers really me that this issue is happening and when I called the support technique lenovo about this that they blamed google chrome even if I told them that this happens even without open chrome.

It's really bothering me that my all new laptop is worse than my old, any help is more than welcome. Thank you!

i5 - 2430M to 2.40 GHz

Win 7 Pro 64-bit

8 GB Ram

P.S. I even upgraded the software 'support' and still no joy - what happens?

Using Chrome as your web browser by default, enabled the link of support at work OK, but still no sign of the server guarantee.

It turns out that my version of the LSC has been later (it has been re-installed, as you suggest), but made no difference.

I made a change to IE (added Lenovo's Support site to the "trusted sites" and with IE11 as default browser, LSC gets supported by links but, of course, no sign of the server guarantee.)

I did make a recording of the warranty when I bought the PC and the grateful e-mail.

  • adding new files or remove the old Windows Media Player files. (Vista)

Since June 2010, I was not able to add new files or remove the old Windows Media Player files.  I can click on a new file and play using WMP or add to a playlist that is currently playing, but it does not recognize that it was added after as I close the program and re-open it.  Or I can delete the files that no longer exist on my computer but WMP always has them as my files.  When I click on add new media, it recognizes the right amount of files I would be adding, says to add them and then nothing is there.

Your media library has probably been corrupted. To reset, follow the instructions for WMP 11 Vista at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary . Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too. Tim Baets

  • Help - Major problems wireless with an all new S10 - slow

    Hello

I just got a new black S10, upgraded the RAM to a Kingston 2 GB module. The start is very good.

The headache I have now is that the wireless connection is extremely slow and it takes forever to renew the INVESTIGATION period. I downloaded the drivers lenovo again and the wifi connection is 10 X slower than the other Mac and PC I have around the House. Even an old EEEPC 701 has the best reliability of the Wi - Fi than the S10.

The only thing I did with the new machine was to uninstall Norton and Adobe... Nothing else.

You hit on the dollar. It's the speed of the Ram have now standardized. Hey can start us a thread on the types of RAM supported for the S10. I just lost $$$ on the Kingstons. At least I can use on an EEE PC tem...

    Thanx

  • Implemented new XPS 15 - remove bloatware?

Hi could someone please refer me to a FAQ or an article with suggestions on the removal of unnecessary software to a new laptop.  First to go will be McAfee - is there other things people recommend remove? TIA

Now I see that I misunderstood your question, at least by one bit.

I'm not quite sure what comes on a 2016 Dell, I will early next week when the one I just ordered arrives. In the list of packing my order I already guessed I want to permanently delete the trial office, McAffee AV. I have to go to Cyberlink Media Suite Essentials to see what my father thinks of it (the computer is for him), in the past I took it I think, because I found myself use it... but maybe he has changed... some of the features have been upgraded and I never used the free.

In my previous experience, I tended to consider anything that's trial-ware as something I would delete; There may be exceptions that I guess, but of course, that would mean I'd be willing to buy the software at the end of the trial and I never had that happen.

I personally also remove all Dell utilities, but for my father I will probably leave the system update utility to update the drivers. I tend to update the system myself on my own and prefer not to have the running process. I also tend to get answers to my questions here on the forums, so I remove everything related to the Dell service (I forgot what they call, but some utility that lets you more easily can contact Dell if you encounter a problem).

If I remember I'll come back and do a list better once I get my desktop of fathers next Tuesday (or almost).

For me personally, I honestly tend to reinstall the operating system and Dell drivers and do not have their pre-installed software. Even with any company, not just Dell. I never found something useful, and what is put on it slows my system only. But as another poster mentioned, bloatware one man's treasure of another man.

A friend said a good measure is to wait a month and everything that begins to harass pay you for it (which means it's Articles of first instance) gets uninstalled unless it is willing to buy it and all that it has not used by uninstalled if then even if free gets most of the cases too. He said that if he's not going to use it by then it figures it's only slow down his computer, especially if it is loaded at startup.

  • Have a new Macbook and remove the Apple Photo app

    Hello

I have a new Macbook (El Capitan running) and I use another software Apple Photo of photo editing app. I would like to remove this app from my Mac.

The programs that I use (affinity and ACDSee Pro 3 for Mac) are not allowed to access the photo library. And anyway I prefer to develop my own photo/file sequence.

So, I would get around Photo and picture library altogether.

    I would like suggestions.

  • When I transfer the data through to the new computer it removes it from the old computer?

I get a new mac next month and will probably be to transfer all my docs, photos, settings etc using the method in this article. I was wondering if, when data are transferred to the new computer, if it is removed from the old computer? I had problems the past with back ups and updates goes wrong and I fear that I will lose all my data by mistake in the transfer.

Lol the original data remains on the old computer, but don't forget to save the new computer as soon as you can.

  • AZ-605 new incredibly slow

I have new AZ-605-UR23 which is a really nice computer, but is incredibly slow.  I migrated to a more old Pentium 3 Windows XP set up that was lightning fast. I must say at the outset that my computer skills are minimal so feel free to correct any assumptions I could have done. My system came with windows installed 8.0 and I upgraded to 8.1.  I checked the Acer website after seeing an analysis of Belarc on my computer missed me 3 updates of pilot.  I downloaded and install in awhile.

The problem, I ran in - I ran a few software - driverupdate.com [the site says it's as a Microsoft certified partner, so I guess it is reputible].  When I downloaded their software and ran it the result was that I have 13 drivers that are obsolete.  Looking for acer driver update site again there are only 3 updates [the ones I downloaded] 8.1.  When I looked for 8.0 updates the names of the pilots did not correspond to the specific series listed at Acer. some of the manufacturers [Intel and Realtek] were the same, but others [for example, liteon, wistron, NVIDIA] were not on my list.

I called support and told to download and install all the drivers of 8.0 and my system would be fixed.  I kept stressing that none of the names was the same, but the response was the same.  New - I'm obviously not an expert, but I don't want to make a mistake and have to go back to something stupid.

Thanks a lot for any help

Yet once again, I want to thank everyone for their help!  My Acer has been lowered to 8.0 and I'm a happy camper.  I'm always implemented, but should be finished today.

I just wanted to share something that can have an impact on the whole of the problem initially, I remind you all that I am not a techie and where what I say is incredibly stupid please don't laugh too hard.

Yesterday I was checking pre-sets on 8.0 and discovered that MS patches are updated automatically.  I thought that was the case because he had some sort of update itself installed approximately 0300 Saturday morning.  In any case, earlier I had checked something on the Panel "information on the performance and tools" and generated a small report I printed "more details on my computer" which assessed my computer at a 9.9 3.9. There was a date on this report was dated June 13, 2013.  I bought the computer the first week of December and received mid-December.  I'm assuming that this date indicates when the sysytm was put in place and is "birthday" of the computer.

This prompted me to check the line on the updated area that was something like update history.  History has shown that I was GONE 90 essential or important updates! When the computer has been unpacked and physically put in place, I think I remember that I was prompted to download 8.1 immediately before continuing the installation of things.  A hacker has helped me set up and started the update and returned the next day to finish the rest of the installation.

Bottom line - 8.1 has been installed on a system lacking 90 updates to the previous version of a system, it was the upgrade.  An assumption on my part, is that the missing updates would have been necessary for the 8.1 install to be indeed installed.  I have to download/install updates 90 on the current system of 8.0; It seems to work even better was the case prior to the updates and it was working fine before.

In fact, the only reason why I'm writing this is in the offchance I'm right and that was the problem, it can help someone else.  The solution proposed by the members of the forum was right on - wish I had not feared to do so and stopped what I was doing and just downgraded.  8.0 seems really easy and everything works fine.

  • Problem with Windows Update after the new installation of Windows 7 Pro the Lenovo ThinkPad X 200

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro on a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. The product key is easy to find on the sticker of the ThinkPad. However, the version of Windows is hidden (for example, I can't check that my ThinkPad had originally installed Windows 7 Pro). I was able to install by using a Pro Win 7 SP1 CD ROM I bought for another installation. I used the ThinkPad I was trying to make the new facility on the product key. I was able to activate the Windows 7 Pro using the phone call and my cell phone. I checked the activation! However, I have problems with Windows update. The product key may be a different version of Windows 7. If so, why did it install and activate OK? Y at - it a fix for this problem or I have to buy a new version of Windows 7 Pro? Please note that I have not yet installed all drivers Lenovo ThinkPad as I can't seem to install correctly. Thank you!

Since the issue is updated to Windows, it is not a product number key.

You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:

How to reset the Windows Update components

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista/Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.

  • New office slows down

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. This is my first post. I recently bought a new Hp desktop computer. It has 5 GB Ram and 640 GB hard drive. I got it for about a month. I use Norton Internet Security. The computer doesn't seem to be as fast as it was when I got it. It's pretty fast, but it just seems like he does not in the same way, that it was at the beginning.

I'm not a computer expert or anything like that. I know how to do basic stuff about it. I did put a lot of junk top or whatever it is. Just of music, I pulled it out of my CD collection. And a few photos.

Is it normal that my PC to slow down after only a month of use? Are you have any suggestions on this subject. I have AT & T DSL fast access. It's a connection high speed. Fast enough for games on my playstation 3.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Also he had a thing of Norton tools top who was supposed to be used for "optimize Performance". I forgot exactly what it's called, but when I activated it looks as it it idle even mor so I uninstalled. Is it ok to not have this software running.

Here is a list of things to try if your PC is slow:

    1. Download cookienator (it's a gift) and clean the House.
    2. Open my computer and right mouse click the hard drive--> properties--> disk cleanup
    3. Start Internet Explorer Tools Internet Options-->-->--> delete browsing history
    4. Open my computer and right mouse click on the hard drive-->-->--> Defrag tools properties now
    5. Open the RUN and enter the following command: chkdsk
    6. Open my computer and right mouse click the hard drive--> properties--> tools--> Check now
    7. Open the RUN and enter the following commands:

    cmd

sfc / scannow---> it will check your critical system files and try to fix

    output

Restart and see how things are going.

You can have some malware on your PC.  Did you add any web browser add ons or enhancements?

  • New computer - slow encoding!

I received a new computer Saturday and had hoped to see a difference in time of coding, but so far, it seems pretty much the same. Specs are: Windows 8.1 (64), 32 GB of RAM, i7 4770 3.5 GHz, GeForce GTX760 (not support CUDA), 120 GB SSD for the OS and Adobe and Adobe CC 2014. I have 4 video that I shot in 1080 p 29.97 FPS and exports even a minute. Only the effects are stabilising Warp and a few effects Lumetri looks like. All have been made. SOUL 2014 took about 45 minutes to export. I checked the memory settings, and the 32 GB 27 GB is used by first, SOUL, etc. and has been optimized for performance. My old computer had supported CUDA, and it does not - that's the main difference? However, the rendering in the first time is much faster. Have I not some bad settings that slow down the speed of export?

With CS6, there is workaround to get the first to use the GTX cards for hardware acceleration. My understanding is that CC will automatically use capable cards... maybe you need to change the supported cards text file?

But anyway, stabilizing Warp takes forever to render, and color looks plug-ins are also known to take some time. If you want to do any type of reference between the old and the new computer, encode a raw video without effects. It really takes real-time or faster to encode a video in H.264 format on this machine.

    Thank you
