new graphics card for a desktop Pavilion p6657c PC

This computer has a 250 watt power supply. I want to get a new video card with more specialized memory (1gig) to accelerate a business program. The operating system is windows 7. CPU is AMDAthlon II x 2 220. It came with an nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430, with 256 MB of memory dedicated.

All I can say is that people have added this card on power supply less than 300W.

You can take the risk or not.  Your choice.  I can't tell you what will happen in your specific PC, because I don't know what other material there.

Personally, I think that the card will work fine, or I would not have recommended it.

Manufacturer of the video card normally overestimated the supply needs of power for their video cards, so they don't get a lot of complaints from people saying that their video card blew their power supplies, etc.

For example... I use an AMD Radeon HD graphic card 6670 in my HP 8200 Elite CMT PC business.  The card called 66 Watts max.

AMD said that you need a 400W power supply and my PC has a 320W power.  It's a 80 Watt shortfall.

I ran it like that for 3 years with no problems whatsoever.

I have two AMD Radeon HD 6570 in 2 other of my business office.  AMD says that you need a power of 400 Watt for those too, and I've been running both of these other PC with 320 W P/S for the same all about 3 years with no problems at all.

HP offered the AMD Radeon HD 6450 in the 8200 Elite small form Factor PC, which has only a 240W PSU. AMD says you need a 400W power supply to run this card.  See page 2 of the PC data page and page 15 for graphics cards offered in the form factors.

This is the power of AMD for the HD 6450 requirements... see the support topic.

If you're still skeptical, I recommend that you either upgrade your diet (I've never done such an update, so I can't help you there), or the use of this handy power supply calculator which will estimate the power supply necessary based on the video card you want and the hardware on your PC.

I bet you will see that he comes up with a value less than 300W.

  • New graphics card for Alienware X 51

I want to buy my son a new graphics card for its Alienware X 51, purchased in 2013. The vehicle currently has a Nvidia GT 640, which apparently is not fast enough for new games there.

After reading this topic I think of two cards, I found on Amazon UK:

PNY Nvidia GeForce GTX Graphics Card 960 1127 MHz 2 GB PCI Express

EVGA 2 GB Nvidia GeForce GTX Superclocked GDDR5 graphics card 960.

This is the right type of card? And who would be best?

Power is currently an adapter 240W. Is it necessary to buy a one 330W and must be of (very expensive) Dell, or could I get away with some of the cheapest on Amazon?

Would appreciate some advice please - I can't be wrong!

  • Replacement of the graphics card for a desktop PC HP Pavilion a6110n

My graphics card has apparently released on my HP Pavilion a6110n desktop PC.  What are my options on a replacement card?

    Hello

Your options are extremely limited with the 250 watt power supply in your PC.  Most of the newer video cards requires a 300 or 400 watt power supply according to the seller.

You need to upgrade the PSU and install a new graphics card.

A decent video card and PSU you risk $100 - $ 150.  Given that your PC is 5 years old, you might consider a new PC.

NVIDIA GT 430 would be a good replacement at $70.  This Corsair CX500quality is $ 40 after rebate.

  • Pavilion 500-314: graphics card for 500-314 Pavilion update

Please suggest a graphics card for me.

I have the R7 Radion integrated AMD provided with the motherboard, when I bought the Office a couple of years. Max resolution seems to be 1600 x 1200.  I want to improve my (two) monitors and the graphics card in order to better support my work Adobe Lightfoot.  I did not and never going to make any game.  Power supply of the desktop computer is 300W.

I like to keep the price of the card under $ 100. I've not spotted monitors so I don't know what will be my target resolution, but 1600 x 1200 is too low.

    Thank you.

    @MarkG3, welcome to the forum.

Here is a video card which should do what you need.  It's a little above your budget, but it is really worth the extra money.  The plug on the State of EVGA Web site she needs at least 300W to work properly.  However, there have been several reports on the forum think 400W is needed.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.

If you decide to buy it you can try with your current converter of power supply (PSU).  It will not damage anything.  It simply will not work correctly.

  • New graphics card for old PC

Hi, my old graphics card stopped working and I need a new. Now my PC is not the newest most, so I would ask you on what graphics card would you recommend for this PC:

    Procesor Intel 2500K

    8 GB RAM

There was an Nvidia GTX295 inside

    128 GB SSD C: drive

Drive D: 1 TB HARD drive 7200 RPM

E: drive of 1 TB HARD drive 7200 RPM

    Windows 7

I use Premiere Pro and After Effects on this system and for my purposes as a videographer hobby that it was now okay. I need a new graphics card, but I don't want to buy something overkill when it is not necessary that the rest of the components would hold him. Thanks in advance for any help!

If you can find the gtx 650 for about $60, then its ok, if this is not the new gtx 750 for about $100.  This list on the page of hackers is not updated.

    Hello

I had problems with my laptop. After a start-up time specifications and give a problem with the IALMRNT5 pilot report. The laptop also gives some display problems, after a certain time, then another graphic resolution is displayed.

I have restored the software but is not a solution and also I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba Support Site!
I think the graphics card to give problems.
Where can I buy the new graphics card?
Installed: Intel 915GM/GMS, 910MS Express smart card.

    Hello

It s not possible to exchange the VGA card in your system, since the VGA is soldered on the motherboard (the most important thing of your laptop on which all components are on) and if you have a problem with your graphics card then you should contact a local service partner authorized, due to a hardwarecheckup or a repair of your device.

  • Recommendation for the new graphic card for the Pavilion a1250n Office running windows xp service pack 3

trying to upgarde my pavilion a1250n computer of office for graphics card MSI r5450 radeon. After installation of the new card in the PCI express and turn on the machine, does not start, screen goes black and the fans to run at top speed. The card and the machine starts fine with the ATI radeon 200 exprees edge. I went into Device Manager and disabled the ATI radeon 200 adapter, and the system still wouldn't start with the new card. Went into the Bios at startup and changed the setting of the adapter PCI E, the slot where I put the card, and still won't work, even with the Bios and Device Manager changes I made.

New card right out of the box, could be bad, or perhaps not compatible with my system? If is not compatible, what would you recommend? Currently I am running windows XP SP3 and am looking for a card that can be upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit. I know that the ATI integrated graphics card cannot be upgraded, so I'd appreciate some advice really.

  • I'll be able to install a new graphics card in, h8-1070uk Pavilion Desktop PC.

I bought this computer around September/October time last year. No get hurt, the computer is AMAZING, but I can't put up with an integrated graphics card (NVidia GeForce GT545 / 3GB is the default that comes with the system). So my question as I am able to change my graphics card? I have a GTX ready to go GB 680.

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion HPE h8-1070uk. According to the specifications, the motherboard has integrated Intel HD 2000 / 3000 graphics (depending on model) and supports PCI Express x 16 graphics cards. Your system was shipped from the factory with a PCI Express x 16 3 GB NVidia GeForce GT545. In addition, specifications, your system is equipped with a 460 Watt power supply. All the GTX680 I watched require power minimum system assessment of 550 watts or greater. So, Yes, you can replace the GT545 with a GTX680... simply put to the power supply as well. Corsair CX600 is slightly larger than a stock HP power and is highly recommended, but also a favorite forum. For more information, read Guide of Big_Dave of a discrete video card selection .

  • Re: I'll be able to install a new graphics card in, h8-1070uk Pavilion Desktop PC.

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can give me any advice as to whether a gtx 670 FTW would fit into my current build. I know that I would have to upgrade the PSU and would be also grateful for any advice you could give me, well done guys.

The standard for the PC PSU which are sold for upgrades is ATX for most of the PC case.

If you build a HTPC (Home Theater PC), you would need a new PSU called ITX or Mini-ITX standard size.

PC motherboards are also sized by what is known as a footprint. yours is microATX. This is a standard size of the industry. It depends on your case and the size of the motherboard and whether or not the motherboard uses a standard ATX power supply connector or an owner as do some old HP PC.

The following image tells us something about the size of the case, but the given power supply information is lacking.

So now we know, by the indicated specifications, most of cards mothers microATX would fit in the case of your PC.

I hope that it starts to make more sense for you. These are things you need to know when building a PC from scratch, otherwise you could easily waste time and money on the wrong parts.

I just did a quick search here in the forum. I see that this has already been discussed in a thread. An ATX PSU will work on your PC. Else on the graphics card you are interested and appropriate PSU for it.

    Best regards

  • Is the XFX HD 7850 a good graphics card for the desktop HP-P7-1534.

I just got this computer in office during the summer because everyone said it would be a cheap system for games. I love this desktop computer, but there are a few games I would like to very smooth running as 4 Battlefield and Call of Duty: ghosts. I was just wondering if the graphics card XFX HD 7850 would meet my needs. I also intend to buy a new corsair 750W power supply for the graphics card would work.

    Jobro94, welcome to the forum.

Yes, the HD 7850 should work correctly.  If, however, you decide to take the Double (2 fans), you should get the measurements and make a cardboard template to ensure that it fits properly.  It is 9.5 "long and has two power connectors 6 pins.  They will add about an inch to the length, once the cables are connected.

Here are the recommended system requirements for BF4:

The PC recommended configuration for optimal rate of quality and Visual framework:

    • (Intel Core i5 or i7) CPU, Quad core at 3 Ghz
    • 4 GB memory (8 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
    • A modern map of DX11 graphics with 2 + GB of video memory, the series 600 GeForce or Radeon 7000 series
    • Windows 7 64 - bit operating system (Windows 8 is supported as well)
    • 30 + GB of free hard disk space

This is the recommended configuration for the Cod: Ghosts:

    Recommended configuration

    • OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / 64-bit Windows 8
    • CPU: Intel Core i5-680 @ 3.6 GHz
    • RAM: 8 GB RAM
    • HARD drive: 40 GB HD space
    • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 @ 4GB
    • Sound: Card its compatible DirectX
    • DirectX: DirectX 11
    • Internet: Connection broadband and service required for multiplayer connectivity. Internet connection required for activation.

As you can see, BF4 will probably work better with the HD 7850 than COD: ghosts.  Cod seems to be more intensive graphics.

    Hello:

Graphics cards cannot be updated simply.

You will need to replace the motherboard with another which would have better graphics (if available for your model).

This would cost as much buying a new laptop, so it is probably not a good idea to undertake such a venture.
