New hardware designs

I want to improve my office. currently have Windows Vista Edition AMD CPU Home Premium x 64 2.0 ghz. two hard drives. Vista on a 80gig and VMware 6.5.2 and various Linux distro on a 60gig drive.

I want to move to a faster processor and use as a single concert of big hard drive 250. I divide it into two disks and put VM on part of it. is there much risk of corrupting the Vista which would be the

host?

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Larry

Be sure to back up your data first before upgrade you your processor and if you have enough drive connections, you can use all 3 drives at the same time.

1 60 GB should be used for drive C: (windows installation and applications)

2 80 GB should be your data disks (d :))

3. 250 GB should be your virtualization player (V:\virtual machines\ all your test VMs are here)

Other that that, you must be careful when upgrading your CPU and ensure its compatibility with your Board.

Any thoughts on one of these is welcome

    Hello

Tecra 9000 was equipped with optional WLan and module BT.
This means that not all units supports the feature WLan and BT.

Anyway, if you found the WLan and BT label background o of the device you T9000 should support these two features.

First of all, you must make sure that the WiFi network has been successfully activated. The material on the side of notebooks switch must be activated. The FN + F8 key combination switches between the BT and WLan. So if you want to use the WLan you have to use the FN + F8 key

I put t know why the keys FN don t work on your T9000. Maybe some tools and drivers are missing. So, try to reinstall the drivers from the Toshiba page. You should find it in the ARCHIVES.

I think the unknown device could designate the BT module and the driver missing BT.
The BT driver here could be downloaded from this page:

  • Satellite P105-6064: Windows always searches for new hardware, reader of CARDS SD

When I insert my SD CARD windows search for new hardware, it happened only with the SD CARD, when I use my CARD MMC is not the problem, I have the latest drivers on the site of toshiba and windows XP - SP2

    Hello

It seems that the Satellite P105-S6064 PSPA0U supports a 5 - in1 bridge media adapter.
This bridge media adapter supports the shared locations. This means that several types of cards can be used in this slot as a Secure Digital (SD card) card, memory stick, memory stick pro, Multi media (MMC) card and card xD picture card.

Seems that after the use of different cards, the pilot must be refreshed and so windows search new device.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong, but it would be interesting to know if the same thing happens on OS installed since the Toshiba Recovery CD.

By the way; The Sat 105 seems to be a mobile US and if you need drivers you must search on the Toshiba site we drivers compatible and taken in charge!

    Best regards

  • Satellite L500-1XL - new hardware upgrades

    Hi all
I have the Toshiba Satellite L500-1XL and recently bought a new 500 GB internal HD and the upgrade went well. However, the internal transfer speeds aren't that fast. He is often out on 18mps level. Why? Affects of that? Use of the RAM, the use of the disk, the free storage space? The HD came with the laptop was 5400 with 8 MB, but my new is 7200 RPM with 16 MB with 11 seconds of access time. If that should not be much faster?

Also, how can we get the support of USB 3.0? Only through new hardware? I know it goes into Windows 8 as this means there could be a few Windows 7 supports or who is still dependent on material?

What are the most effective upgrade options to make my laptop run faster? He was modest. When I got it, but now use it for any need so get. Thus, upgrading to HD 160 GB to 500 GB (5400-7200), but it's unique processor with only 2 GB of RAM. I noticed on the Toshiba page so it says on a 64 bit system with 4 GB of RAM, the chart may use up to 1 800 MB of RAM upgrade RAM (not expensive) and then the processor? Even a single dual core would do the job? No need for a costly i3 and perhaps not compatible with the motherboard.

    Thank you!

    Hey Buddy,

And what was your old HDD? HARD disk speed depends on different factors. You copy a large number of small files and a large single file?
It s also useful to defragment the HARD drive from time to time. This can improve the speed. Also keep the system clean and use a registry cleaner like CCleaner that cleans up your registry.

USB3.0 is a different interface. This new operating system wouldn t help you because it s material new feature/upgrade.

Other improvements regarding: CPU and graphics card is not supported as you can read here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ35006D000RR01.htm

Your laptop has Intel GL40 chipset and the maximum RAM capacity is 4 GB. So you can install 2 GB DDR2-667 module in each memory location.

  • Vista SP2 update causing CompactFlash new hardware detection repeated even after installation of the driver

I have a footstool of m8100n HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium.  Since the Vista SP2 which was installed yesterday through the update of Windows, my PC guard detection of new hardware when I registered.  The application popup never ask again once, ask later, or update/search recommended for software to install what is recommended.  After selecting the option recommended and install the software that it finds, I get a popup about CompactFlash is now detected and ready to use material.  After this exercise, looks all right.  However, every time I connect as administrator or standard user on my Windows Vista computer passes through the detection of the same material and the update.  He should not have to repeat this after installation and update of itself for the new hardware.  What is the cause and Microsoft is aware of this problem?

I worked with HP on the problem.  It wasn't a problem of driver from the manufacturer because it had no software update HP.  The integrated CompactFlash drive location doesn't have a drive letter assigned.  Do not understand why that would be a problem because on the removable media drive letters are assigned dynamically when you insert a card or a player.  Records didn't have drive letters when running on SP1 and it wasn't and issues then.  This seems to have become a requirement for SP2.

The fix was to go in Windows disk management and pre assign drive letters to the disks 1 to 4 that are for CompactFlash removable media, MS/MS-Pro, SD/MMC and SM/xD-Picture on my HP m8100n PC.  Once this has been done and that Windows detects new hardware because of the SP2 update drivers, it installs successfully and is no longer repeat the detection/installation process.

  • Found New Hardware Wizard initiate at startup with no new hardware installed

    Hi Xircal,

    Thanks for your interest.

The Malwarebytes we were a beta with a lot of precautions.

I ran the Sophos base scan on C:.
Nothing that you marked for deletion.
Just hundreds of hidden files, mostly in the Recovery Console XP (minint), the RRBackups, the preboot\helps, the two Norton .dat files: cltLMS1.dat & cltLMS2.dat

    Description: Unknown hidden file
Removable: Yes (but clean not recommended for this file)

Norton said: «these files are components licenses of Norton.» Legitimate files of Norton. (They are not paid for spelling)

I could run a scan in depth tonight if you think necessary.
I have a bunch of drives on this computer, but c is the one who starts.
In fact, I have a separate drive that I use to download software executables, drivers, etc..

    Hi Peggy,

Does not sound like there is nothing to worry about here.

The 'new hardware found' is still running at startup?

Also, could you possibly get in touch with Norton and ask them if ROOT\LEGACY_BEEP\XX_NPF_XX in Device Manager has nothing to do with the Norton Personal Firewall? It could be something as simple as that.

I think you're right. I don't see anything unusual but one long-standing issue date with Norton Security turned off randomly on startup (I does not start unless I'm free to control and turn it on if it is off)

I contacted Norton on that months ago and they were not able to solve it, but strongly advised I have remove a bunch of utility programs that they don't like. Split us up on this suggestion. I have uninstall Super Anti-Spyware, and you know the rest of this story. But I think Secunia PSI, Winpatrol, AutoCAD, etc. as essential to my well-being computer.

I think I'll let the dog Norton are.

The 'new hardware found' has NOT yet run at startup. Thank you very much.

Assume that you have done at least what I asked you to do. I'll miss our daily interactions, but you'd better take your white hat to someone who needs your expertise more than me.

How can I get rid of the screen of "Found New Hardware Wizzard: device modem on high definition audio bus" that kept appearing on my screen each time after I log on my computer?  Thank you.

If uninstall you it, it will all come immediately the next time you reboot and start bugging again.

  • found new hardware wizard appears and unknown device device Watch Manager

Since a few days ago, the Add New Hardware Wizard keeps popping up. I looked in Device Manager and found an unknown device (yellow exclamation mark) should I delete the device? I don't know what to do to identify which device is unknown.

If you remove it, then he'll probably be back the next time that you start.

go to start / all programs/windows update (at the top of the list of the menu), custom search, watch your optional hardware updates and search for a driver that you have not already installed, you can get lucky. Otherwise post the details of your specifications and ask again.

Furthermore, it can take a while to get the pages updated and you may need to install active x on the way, a line will appear at the bottom of the fixed part of your browser screen (the same as when you download) If this is the case, click on it and install active x, then a box should appear and tell you allow I think.

  • Found new hardware unknown wizard

I have a Windows XP Media Center Edition computer. A few days ago, he jumped to the top of the box, "Welcome to the new hardware detected" whenever I turn on my computer. I don't know why and I think that he doesn't even know why, because he said, "this wizard helps you install software for: unknown." When I try to install the software automatically (recommended) it continues to show that it is looking for unknown. I have not plugged my hard drive backup from another computer, which usually makes it to do. I tried to do a restore of the system at the beginning of the week (today is 10/01/13) and it still does not work. Then I did a system restore to last Thursday and it still does not work. Why my computer do that?

    Hello

Yes, now you must contact HP support.
