  I tried to print (on the right side, of course) a "Lightscribe" cd that I put in my cd/dvd drive, but it does not print. Why?

  I have a printer HP Photosmart with Lightscribe. I have the software on my MAC but when I try and use it I get a message saying that the Lightscribe printer is not found. I use my printer with a Wi - Fi connection. I can't get any help from the Lightscribe people. Any suggestions?

  "Most of the features on the HP Photosmart 8180 all in one printer can be used via wireless or Ethernet connection, but to use the LightScribe labels from your computer, you must connect the printer directly to the computer via the connection USB.

  You must also install the Lightscribe system software to allow your labeling application detect your drive and identify new media. It is recommended to follow the same precautions recommended for USB/Firewire external dives. »

  I had three of my current printer models, and it is preparing to launch the bucket... I am struggling to find a good option to print directly to a cd/dvd. Does HP who offers more?

  It's unfortunate for them, because Lightscribe is ugly as sin and I mean I can buy an Epson! For anyone who finds this thread in the future, I bought an XP-600, which prints beautiful records.

• Replace the DVD drive with lightscribe on Satellite M60

  Is it possible to buy a lightscribe for the M60 dvd drive replace a normal drive. I have a lot of videos that I made more certain that I bought and I transfer them to DVD, it would also be useful to label the disks that hold backups and plans that we use. I prefer the direct info disc rather then print the labels and stick them onto the disc printing. I can do the work myself if I get hold of the drive and the driver.
  There is still a lot more left life warranty Toshiba in the machine and I am reluctant to update. I have two other M60s in my office and they gave very good service.

  If you take the risk that your warranty would be voided and you find a compatible player then do it. Sorry, but if I were you, I would buy an external USB-DVD/RW lightscribe capabilities. It s fast enough and he would support lightscribe that you need.

  It's the only option I'd choose, but I would´t screws my machine during the warranty only for some purposes "DVD-labeling"...

• LightScribe does not label disc

  I have a hp pavilion elite model m9520f.  My labeler lightscribe works fine on my external dvd player at low prices, but does not print on my drive to hp oem (blueray super-multi-engraver of dvd with lightscribe).  the lightscribe software is up-to-date. I have vista Home premium.  the dvd drive is listed ATAPI BD B DH6E2L in Device Manager. the lightscribe Utility Manager say everthing is fine and there is no conflict of interest.  I've used restore Manager to reinstall the lightscribe software driver (I know works because the cheap external drive prints fine labels) to search for new drivers, it says that they are up-to-date.  I've known idea how to reinstall the factory driver. and I don't know where to look for updates to the firmware.  the site of hp for my computer model is without help.  Download driver hp site has nothing on my DVD on this subject.  technical support wants me to do a restore to complete plant as the first solution, which means I have to spend a week to reconfigure the entire system again!  does anyone have suggestions until I just restarted the computer to get a refund? It's so frustrating.

  Thanks to Mickey to hp tech support - it turns out that the drive external hard usb is in conflict with the software and the drive internal blue ray.  By turning off or unplugging the external usb drive hard everything works as it should.   I hope this helps someone else. PROBLEM SOLVED.

• computer does not detect not active LightScribe dvd writer drive.

  Bought in 2009-trusty HP Photosmart C8180 printer all-in-one has a permitted lightscribe dvd burner drive. Worked very well with 32-bit Xp computer.

  Now I have a new computer running Windows 7 64 bit, so had to download software like older software would not work. Printer now works fine again, even wireless. Yesterday I tried to use the dvd player, but my new computer does not detect the dvd on the same printer drive. I love this printer and nothing on the market has the following features for a replacement is not what I want.   Someone at - it suggestions. Cheers from Tasmania

  Tried the software. Its the same thing as what I downloaded when my own outdated software did not work.  I tried to add a USB in addition to the wi - fi connection. The computer then saw the drive. This means that it is the only way it will work or is there some software/driver tweeking or more I can / add to make ALL of the wi - fi function

• D5360 printing only 3 lines and stops

  As the (Windows 7) complete print job or hang up (in XP) it does not recognize a two-way communication, can not detect cartridges, I tried two USB different cables, plugged into the wall and tried 2nd computer and download the 'doctor' who says it's very good and updated software. Might be possible to surge which led me to put in a new power supply computer already. Questions: What I have not tried? Anything that may be fixable? Worth fixing? It's a GOOD printer!

  To the best of my knowledge the CD print feature is not available on any printer over.  LightScribe killed everything except her.  Looks like it just left printers.  I'm sorry.

  My laptop runs windows 7 64-bit operating system. My laptop got formatted due to a virus attack. Before software lightscribe was there in my system and I used to print labels on the dvd using the same. But after formatting, I got my windows since the available recovery partition on my laptop. But I couldn't find the lightsribe. Please help me get the lightscribe software in my system. What I need to download the software because I think that before it was integrated into my system.

• Incomplete LightScribe labels

  I have struggled with this problem for some time and cannot understand why labels do not completely print.

  The labels appear as tasks.  These are not circular rings (if necessary).  For example, a partial label can appear at the bottom of the disc and another part at the top right, while the rest of the drive is completely empty.

  -J' connected the USB directly to the computer (and not via a USB HUB or docing station)

  -keep the external sources of interference away from the USB cable (external hard drives and other cables power)

  -disconnect the power supply when the drive is not in use in order to avoid any static buildup on the inside

  -update of the Lightscribe driver

  -tried to burn in the draft, normal and best repeatedly with the occasional disc but normally succeed after three attempts or more.

  Used drive is an external HP dvd1040, using the software Nero CoverDesigner Essentials and Verbatim DVD + R 16 x discs.

  This has happened using the same computer with two operating systems (XP and 7).

  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  Problem solved.

  The only thing that has not been tried replacing the cables, especially the USB cable.  Once using a different cable, not more of the image.

  It was likely that intermittent given my attempts to disconnect the power supply would move the USB in an operating position (temporarily).

  I'm new to Mac but am generally competent computer/network.

  My son is in a the student house where 2 guys have Macbooks and 2 have Windows Mobile 10. the printer is a Brother wireless printer/scanner/fax.

  Among Mac users and Windows users can send impressions and analysis perfectly, but only one of the Mac users cannot.

  I deleted the printer and downloaded the latest drivers and re-installed but still cannot print.
  I tried adding via IP address but still does not work. I also tried the Air and BrotherCUPS, but none worked.

  Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It seems that you experience problems printing to a Wi - Fi printer. Looks like you already have a troubleshooting. I recommend reading this article, you have already done some steps here, but there is more information you have not mentioned by train.
  
  

  If the issue is not resolved, take these last steps to remove all the drivers printer currently installed that might be causing the problem:

  1. Choose  menu Apple > System Preferences, and then click Printers and scanners.
  2. Control-click anywhere in the list of devices, and then choose "Reset printing system" from the context menu that appears.
  3. From the Finder, choose go > go to folder. Type /Library/Printers/ , and then click surGo.
  4. The Printers folder opens. Choose Edition > select all to select all the items in the folder.
  5. Choose file > new folder with selection to all the selected items in a new folder named new folder with the elements.
     To save storage space, you can delete the folder new folder with items after you complete the remaining steps.
  6. Follow the steps described in previous section once more.

  If your printing problem is not resolved, contact the manufacturer of the printer to support.
