  If you are able to boot up to this point, you should be able to do the repair install of XP from the disk.  I do not recommend to change these files, unless you are familiar with this process.  If you please you would follow with me on this, I'd be very happy.

  New disks are blank - not formatted and without any operating system. You will need to boot from your windows installation disc, format the drive and install windows. Then, install the backup that you program to restore your files. You could beg, borrow or buy windows 8 installation media. Backups are for the restoration of files on a hard drive to work with windows.

  The recovery partition is on the failed hard drive, so cannot be used. If you did the readers of thumb with a copy of the partition recovery or recovery windows disks when you got the computer, use those. Get help from a friend.

  Look in your Applications folder for "Install macOS Sierra." This is where the installer is placed when it is downloaded. It is normally deleted once the update is complete, but may still be there.

  Method 1: Start the computer in last good known Configuration

   

  1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

  Click the button start , click the arrow next to the button lock , then click on restart.

  1. Do one of the following:

  ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

  ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.
