New installation, error: failed to create the Scratch disk: disk error

Location: Windows 7, had everything works fine. Added the SSD and installed system from scratch on the SSD. Old drive now is my second drive.

Try to work on the second (old) drive drive to reduce wear to the SSD. But whenever I do, I get disk error message and it erases all my settings (so boring!)

I think it's a permissions thing since I had to deal with this already to a certain extent, but I don't know how to solve this problem, because I do not know where adobe tries to save the file. Any tips or ideas?

RESOLVED: I mess with permissions, but I think that what he did was following some advice I found elsewhere related to problems of registry Illustrator. I did the settings to change, then I found Photoshop in the start menu and right click > run as administrator. That seems to have done the trick.

    Hello!

Have you tried the disks from different manufacturers? I prefer to use DVD - R Verbatim and TDK discs.
    Check it!

Also on the site of Toshiba, I can find a few updates firmware for the CD/DVD drive. Check if you have such a unit and update the firmware.

  • Satellite R630-13D: failed to create the recovery disk

I have a similar problem. I have a Satellite R630-13 t and tries to use the Toshiba recovery Media creator to create restoration 2 DVD discs.

When you try to create the first disc, I get the following message:

    Cannot read the next file.
    E:\Boot\fonts\chs_boot.ttf
    (Error code: 020150-20-00000000).

I get a similar message when you try to create the second. I tried four times. On my last attempt, I disabled the protection in real time on my virus checker (Windows Security Essentials) - I don't know how to close down completely, not sure you can. I also turned off wireless and bluetooth.

I need to create these discs please. I use anti-scratch Philips DVD + RW 4.7 GB 120 Min 1-4 x speed discs.

I know that someone else mentioned to try a different type of disc but I just bought these for this purpose and don't really want to buy more if I can help it. The disc type is certainly not a problem? When I look at the disc in the drive, they have files on them - even the file that the error message above says that he could not read.

    Thank you

I had similar experiences in the past and I can say that, after several tests using different types of media, I was able to create recovery discs using DVD-R only media.

Hey two disks empty buddy aren't really expensive so don't waste your time here awaiting a solution and buy two or three empty DVD-R discs and create recovery media.
Another tip: do not buy some cheap stuf but high quality TDK or Verbatim discs.

  • Satellite U400 - failed to create the recovery disk - bad DVD player?

    Hi all

    I have a 13 inch Satellite U400.
Due to problems with my Softkeys, lighting and hibernation status (any help on thos would also be useful) I want to create a recovery DVDs with the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

The thing is: it starts when I have a CD in the DVD drive, but as soon as I put a DVD in (what is needed), it gives me an errormessage that said something like 'another application is using this drive or no disc recording where found in the laptop. 0D00E4-F0-00000000 error code).

My DVD player does not work properly, I can play movies and the drivers and the status is ok too.
I noticed, that error code changes, but I don't know how to get the recovery disk creator will.

What can I do? Change something in the registry?
I don't know what happened on my laptop, I bought a few months ago - new. I guess that, reset everything would bring my softkeys, lighting and hibernation status back.

So, if someone nows how to work at least one of the problems, please give me advice.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

Did you create virtual CD/DVD drives with special software? If so, remove the software completely. In addition, if you have installed burning, programs, you should check if they will be started when Windows starts and if so, disable the beginning upward. So go to start > run > msconfig > start. Here, you can disable the start of burning software (for example Nero, CD Burner XP, etc.).

And what DVD are you using for burning? I have good experiences with DVD - R Verbatim and TDK discs. These are high-quality discs and you should try it too!

Last but not least, you need to remove the upper and lower registry filters. It is always advisable to the problems of the CD/DVD drive:
    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

Depending on your problem with the keys to enlightenment that you should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This determines the buttons of enlightenment, FN keys and other special functions on your laptop. I had a similar problem with my Qosmio F50 illumination buttons and I posted something on this subject in the Qosmio forum that you should try it too!

  • Satellite A300-15 has failed to create the recovery disk

I'm trying to create the recovery for the first time disk (portable purchased before 5 days) and stop just before the end, the creator:

    Cannot read the file.
    F:\06343XSP5. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
    (Error code: 020150-20-00000000)

    What's not?

    I posted this already in another thread, but I can repeat it;

I noticed that not all DVDs are compatible and sometimes it of not possible to burn the recovery due to the problem of DVD DVDs.
I put t know what DVD discs you use, but I had a good experience with TDK DVD-R.

So my advice is simple; Try different DVD from different manufacturers

  • Failed to create the recovery disk - error: differences between the following files

Hello, I am using the recovery disc option, but during the creation of the third disc, I get this error repeatedly (I tried to create 4 + times now, using the same type of discs that worked well with the first 2 discs). The full error message is:

"differences between the following files. "Source path: path:F\ZZImg\09753XSP2.swm E\HDDrecovery\SWImg\0975XSP2.swm target (error code: 02016F-3 c-00000000)"

How to solve this? I want to reformat my laptop, and the thought that it would be better to create these discs first. It is recommended to have the front discs I try to reformat? This error would prevent me to use the option 'restore factory settings' which is present by pressing the 0 key during the loading screen?

(I'm not very technically capable, so I am greatly worried something bad).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Have you tried using different disks from different manufacturers?
To do this. I had similar problem and it was not entirely compatible disc-related.
I use TDK R CD or DVD. They work great!

  • Satellite C650 - failed to create the recovery disk - error 020150-20-00000000 code

I hope this is the right place to post this, but I think I have the same problem with my Satellite C650. He keeps wasting DVDs by stopping and saying that it cannot read the file E:\ZZlmg\11544XSP.swm and gives an error code 020150-20-00000000. The file is located on the DVD. I use Verbatim DVD - R The Recovery Media Creator is trying to write the first disc and is at the point of check data. Can you think of another explanation for this error other than the cheap DVD option? Thank you

    Hello

    There are two explanations;
Either the CD/DVD drive firmware is not up to date and contains no information about the drives used discs (CD or DVD) is not fully compatible.
As you know this is happening and is not uncommon.

So first check if a firmware update is available for your CD/DVD drive.
The European driver of Toshiba page is the right place to look for that.
More details you will find in detail if the firmware has been published for your ODD.

If there is no update firmware of your CD/DVD drive, then you should test other discs

I was given a Satellite 1800 712 with buggy BIOS (power went down while flashing) then now when the laptop is on a sign shows
BIOS (Block2) is damaged! (Call the repairman)
    and so on...

I downloaded the latest bios for the laptop, but when I try to follow the instructions given (unzip, insert a formatted 1.44 MB floppy, run the *.exe file and a 1.44 MB must be created) nothing happens. When I run the exe (chgbiosa.exe) if I am running windows xp nothing happens and if I'm running BACK said "initial mistake.

In the Archives of the bios is a readme. It says that I need to copy files (BIOFC72T.COM and CHGBIOSA. (EXE) on a 1.44 MB diskette. Well, it is not helped either.

Any ideas what should I do? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I found this thread in the forum:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19801&MessageID=72625

The case described in the thread above is very similar to your question.
According to this message that every newer BIOS has a protection mechanism which means that even in the case of an incomplete process of flashing, the area responsible for in the BIOS flash for the upgrade is never deleted.

Generally you should contact the service point in your country for this problem, but perhaps the description in the other thread will help you.
But you know, everything you do is at you own risk

  • Envy of HP dv7 Notebook: failed to create the recovery disk.

I have a HP ENVY Notebook dv7. When the computer was new, I tried to make a record of retrieving the value. When finished, I would check out (DVD - R) discs, I would get a message saying that disks has not written correctly. I tried three different packs records, always the same. Called HP Support and they went through the process with me, always the same failure. I was told not to worry if I still have the discs because of an accident, they would send them to me for free because they have a record. Now, I'll use this computer mostly on the internet and think I should have just in case records. Called HP and was not said no record, no free drives and it will cost a lot to make them help the discs. Is it possible to make records or put the info on a hard drive? I don't know if the computer thinks that I made a copy or not, because the copies, I thought I was doing were defective.

    How can I fix it?

    Hello

You cannot create CD or DVD password reset disk.  You must have a USB flash drive or floppy disk to create. It is design default in windows 7:

  • Error 5: Access is denied: failed to create the installation directory...

I am installing an "Advanced System Care" program I get an error message, Setup failed to create the directory 'C:\users\arthur\appdata\local\temp\is-rukl.temp '.

    error 5 access is denied

I realized today that I think I got this error on several things, I tried to install recently.  I thought it was a problem with the actual program installer.

I have no idea where to start even.  Thanks for any help you can give me

The problem is with the security permissions on the temp of your profile folder. To correct it access %Temp% or C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local and right click the Temp folder and choose Properties, then click the Security tab, and click Advanced.

On the permissions tab, you should see the permissions that are there. There are 3 that are:

'SYSTEM' with a total control that applies to "this folder, subfolders and files.

"Administrators" with full control that applies to "this folder, subfolders and files.

"Your username" in the full control that applies to "this folder, subfolders and files.

and all 3 must be inherited from the folder C:\Users\[Username]\.

If you have the option "Include the permissions that can be inherited from the parent to this object" checked, then check it and click on continue if there are problems, then remove the permissions that are not inherited.

Once you click on 'Apply' and click 'OK', you must have the permissions to write to the directory and you won't get the error messages more.

Hope this has solved your problem

Failed to create the required registry key: vmware, Inc. error: 2 when installing the vm 7 wareinwin and the installation of any software of a few errors in registry pls help...

    Hello mnaveen.kumar,

Search the registry to see if this key was created. Sometimes, the installation program does not have permission to this key.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.

You can try to manually create the key to see if this will help.

Please reply back and let us know if this can help.
