New MacBook Pro 13 "2016 with 2008 LED Cinema screen A1267

I want to continue using my screen and no one seems closed that Retina display is compatible with the LED Cinema Display Monitor.

Love at first sight communicates with the Mini Display Port connection on the screen?

HELP and contradictory responses from the Apple Store was of NO help.

Yes.  Plug the Mini DisplayPort screen to a Thunderbolt port on the computer.  Connect the USB cable to one of the USB ports on the computer.  You will need to use the power of the computer display, a MagSafe MagSafe 2 converter.

I guess you can connect but it won't show anything of your MBP.

  • New MacBook Pro Release - 2016

I had a PC guy since I started to use computers and a few years ago I bought an iPad and iPhone. I always wanted to buy an Apple computer, but it was too expensive. Given the quality of Apple products, and how the OSX is good, I finally want to invest money to get the new macbook pro. I use Photoshop CC and time to other Illustrator and InDesign for the current model I've been watching is the:

13 "MacBook Pro retina display with i7 processor 3.1 GHz and 16 GB of RAM.

There are rumors that Apple will release the new MBP at the WWDC conference that leaves me with some questions.

    • If I wanted to get this laptop, it would be OK to use it as my computer only for we shall say 12 hours a day? I plan on a long term, so I would really upgrade for years 4 and 5.
    • If the new MBP range announced in the June 13-18, you think it's going to be available for sale end of June in the States (that's when I'll be there and it is definitely cheaper to buy there, only in Hungary). I hope just as they don't sell in September for example... I don't know how the previous models were announced and ready to buy for customers.
    • The new range will be about the same price as the current? With the above specifications, I wrote above, it comes out around $2000.

Thank you! I can't wait to be part of the Apple family.

    1. Of course - Mac would be nice looking, but they were made to be used!
    2. We do not know when will be released new computers or when they become available. The only people who know what is not allowed to speak.
    3. We are not allowed to speculate on the future computers here. All that I can say is that in the past when Apple launches a new system based on current designs (a MBP 2015 is updated a MBP 2016 model) prices remain substantially the same, or drop. When Apple makes a major design change is unclear what will happen.

Basically, the best that we can do is say welcome and buy the computer when you need it. Even if Apple launches a new model of 2 months after your purchase (as happened to my wife when she bought his MBP in 2015 early) you will have one of the best darn computers made.

  • MacBook Pro A1278 starts with black or white screen

Please help, my 13 "Macbook Pro, circa 2011 displays a white screen briefly and make sound boots, then goes to a white screen.  I tried to reset the PRAM a couple of times, no luck, reset SMC strikes did not help.

Can anyone offer additional troubleshooting steps?

    Thank you.

Please take each of these steps that you have not already tried it. Some of them are not applicable to your model or your situation. Stop when the problem is resolved.

To restart a computer is not responding, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the unit turns off, then release, wait a few seconds and press again briefly.

    Step 1

The first step to respond to a startup failure is to secure data. If you want to keep the contents of the boot drive and you have not already at least a current backup, you should try to back up now, before we do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care the data changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.

There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to store backup data.

    a. starting the partition recovery or an hour Local Machine backup volume (button option key at startup). When the OS X Utilities appears, launch disk utility and follow the instructions in this support articleto the title of the "Instructions for the backup on an external hard drive via disk utility". The article refers to the start of a DVD, but the recovery mode procedure is the same. You don't need a DVD if you use OS X 10.7 or higher.

    (b) If step 1 fails due to disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to save some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external hard drive with OS X installed, the start of it. Otherwise, if you have access to the Internet, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external hard drive and install OS X on it. You will use the installation program of recovery, rather than download it from the App Store.

    c. If you have access to a Mac, and it work and have both the non-working Mac FireWire ports or stroke, start the Mac non-working in target disk mode. Work Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique will not work with USB, Ethernet, Wi - Fi or Bluetooth.

    d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is replaceable by the user, remove it and climb into a docking station that is pregnant or an external drive. Use another Mac to copy the data.

    Step 2

If you have booted from an external drive, make sure that the internal boot volume is selected in the pane of the system preferences Startup disk.

Start in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. If you do not see the words "Safe Boot" in the start screen, you did not start in safe mode. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, and some things don't work at all, including the networks without wire on some Macs.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You must know the password for the connection to connect. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

If the startup progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or the system stops automatically when the progress bar appears, the boot volume is corrupted and the player is probably defective. In this case, go to step 9. If you have another problem with the player, replace it immediately.

If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the trash and then open the window of info on the boot volume ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) Make sure you have at least 9 GB of space available, as shown in the window. If you do not, copy as many files as necessary on another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion is not complete until you empty the trash again. This, until the space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

If the boot process hangs again, the problem is probably caused by third-party software you have installed. Ask for additional instructions.

    Step 3

If the startup process stops at a gray screen together with a mobile cursor, then the logon dialog box may be active but not visible because of a bug. You may be able to connect by using the arrow keys or the cursor to select the password field and type your password as usual.

    Step 4

Case of failure of step 3, the boot volume can be complete. If you saw previously implemented guard space drive is low, it is certainly the case. You might be able to start in safe mode , even if you cannot boot normally. Otherwise, boot from an external hard drive, or well technology for step 1b, 1 c or 1 d allows to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to the documentation from Apple, you need at least 9 GB of free space on the boot (as shown in the Infolog) for normal operation volume.

    Step 5

If a Mac desktop (without the built-in keyboard) crashes on a gray screen together with a mobile cursor, the keyboard may not be recognized. Hold down the button on the side of a wireless Apple keyboard to make it discoverable. If need be, replace or recharge the batteries. If you use a USB keyboard connected to a hub, connect it to a built-in port.

    Step 6

Sometimes, a startup failure can be solved by resetting the NVRAM.

    Step 7

If there is an integrated optical drive, a disk may be stuck in there. Follow these instructions to remove it.

    Step 8

Press and hold the power button until the unit turns off. Disconnect all devices wired except those needed to start and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use another keyboard and/or mouse, if these devices are wired. If you can start now, one of the devices that you disconnected, or a combination of both, the origin of the problem. Discover that it is a process of elimination.

    Step 9

Launch the utility disk in recovery mode (see step 1). Select the boot volume, and then run the repair disk. If problems are found, repeat until that clear. If disk utility reports that the volume is not repairable, the drive is defective and must be replaced. You can choose to tolerate such malfunction in the reader's life. In this case, delete the volume and restore it from a backup. If the same thing happens again, replace the drive immediately.

It is one of the rare situations where you must also run repair permissions, ignoring the erroneous warnings, that it can produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.

    Step 10

If the boot device is an aftermarket SSD, it may have an update and/or a forced "garbage collection". Instructions how to do this with a Crucial SSD of brand have been posted here. Some of these instructions may apply to other brands of SSDS, but you should check with the technical support of the provider.

    Step 11

Reinstall the OS. If the Mac has upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you need the Apple ID and password used to upgrade.

    Step 12

Do as in step 11, but this time clear the disk utility boot volume before installing. The system should restart automatically in the installation wizard. Follow the prompts to transfer data from one Time Machine or another backup.

    Step 13

This step applies only to models that have a battery logic-board ("PRAM"): all of the Mac Pro, MacBook with a removable main battery and a few others (models not updated). A flat battery logic-board may cause a boot failure. In general the failure will be preceded by the loss of the system and boot disk clock settings. Refer to the user manual for replacement instructions. You may need to take the machine to a provider of services to have to replace the battery.

    Step 14

If you get this far, you probably deal a hardware failure. An appointment of 'Genius' to an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider.

  • Option key always down on the new MacBook Pro (mid-2010)

I have a new MacBook Pro 15 i7 "with 8 GB of RAM. Illustrator seems to think that the option button is still held down. Forms always come from the Center and dragging objects with the pointer always their copy. This problem occurs with AI CS4 and CS5 trial HAVE. I don't have this problem in Photoshop or other applications of CS that I tried (ID, Flash). I tried to throw the com.adobe.illustrator.plist and the Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings folder.

The keyboard Viewer (Preferences system-> language & text-> Input Sources-> keyboard & Viewer characters-> input menu-> show viewer from keyboard) does not show that the option key is held down.

I use an external USB (aluminum Apple keyboard) extended keyboard. It also happens with the built-in the laptop keyboard.

Is that what someone else with this model having this problem?

I see that your question can be model specific or related material as a problem with the option key is also present in other places. You could try uninstalling/reinstalling Illustrator, removing the custom of bad cache files, as well as the files preferably before you start, if you have a brand new Virgin facility. See if that helps. If not, you could try this first, create or logging in as another user, and see if the same thing is happening.

  • Can I use a LED Cinema Display of pre-2009 with a new MacBook Pro retina?

    Hello

I am currently using a pre-2009 LED Cinema Display with a MacBook Air from mid-2011.

Now, I want to replace my old MacBook Air with a brand new MacBook Pro 13 "retina.

This combination works always and, above all, the Cinema Display Monitor will be able to manage the resolution of the retina?

I have never seen anything in the resolution of the retina on the screen of cinema in 7 years, so I wonder if he can really handle.

    Thanks for any help.

The Cinema Display isn't a Retina display, so it will not show HiDPI resolutions. But it will work fine with your new machine.

  • How can I transfer the mail, Safari, iTunes, etc of my 2008 MacBook running OS 10.5.8, a new MacBook Pro (with Ethernet port) or a new MacBook Air?

I replace my 2008 Macbook which maxed out at OS 10.5.8, with a new MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.  The Pro has an Ethernet port, the Air is not.  I want to transfer all the data from my application (mail, Safari, iTunes, etc.) for the new Macbook that will run El Capitan.  How can I do?

What machine you're leaning towards? With Air, you have to use ether WIFI or have the old drive on an external drive configuration. With a new Macbook Pro, the simplest method is to use the migration assistant. Access your Macbook in public services and to see, there you have it. Here is a link to what you can do.  http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html It is said Lion, but it applies the same. Here's what apple says.  https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204350 you should know that some of the apps in Leopard will be obsolete in El Captian. There you transfer, it can cause problems. I use the thinking that if I can replace it with a download I do this. The transfer or, if there is an update for it.

  • Release date: new Macbook Pro 2016

Is the release date of the new Macbook Pro (2016) announced yet?

And if so, when it will be released?

There was no announcement, and if you read the terms of use, these subjects are discouraged on these forums.  We do not know with certainty when Apple made such an announcement.

    Ciao.

  • I can restore a new Macbook Pro with a 128 MB flash usung a drive backup time Machine 1 TB?

My Macbook Pro 2009 with a 1 TB drive is dead. I bought a new Macbook Pro 13 "early 2015 with 128 MB of memory Flash.

How can I use the 1 TB time machine backup restore the new MAC?

Yes, but most likely you can not restore everything and will need to be selective about what should be restored because very probably a full restoration would take more than 100 GB and you need a free storage space so that you can not fill up the drive

  • Problems with the new Macbook pro 15' maxed out

Here's a quick post about my experience so far with the new macbook pro. I just got a brand new fully maxed out in spec macbook pro 15 inch 1 to SSD 16 GB RAM AMD R9 370 m GPU (set to automatic switching is not always) and a 2.8 to 4 GHz i7. I turned on and set it up which was nice and took 2 minutes. Then experience decreased a little when I saw an EST 05:36 hours of battery life remaining to 94%. So I loaded 100% and it is still 60% of battery life announced and no program running that I literally just signed a brand new machine.

Then I tried to use the migration wizard to import a backup of my iMac 5 k so I can do everything on this clone for my laptop. After having successfully connected (he told me if my password for time machine was incorrect or not) it froze and did nothing, continue did nothing.

Then place had to call support, was a guy on the phone in 30 seconds and I unplug and restart the machine time, always that same question so I transferred to a guy with "more training". The new guy I could say knew a little more and knew that I knew how to set my password or if I walked in their properly for a bit but they all have been set for the same password just for this. I created a second admin account called "test" under his leadership, and when the migration assist froze on this account, he was surprised and proceeded to transfer me off.

I preceded to restore fully the machine into thinking that my account setup is causing trouble with the migration assistant, and it turns out that the closure of that laptop it can only continue to 'download additional components', while that connected for 30 minutes so all last night was wasted, and now I guess he's got 5 left 12 hours to download original 'things '. Keep in mind that I can download 5 GB in one hour... After he wake up this morning and ending up where I left it last night :/ he says 84 hours go, now 72 and 51 and it is not updated even once in seconds, it took 20 minutes to 84 minutes to 51, it's literally a day 2 reset extravagance or what? Just to download it I can only imagine the actual plant until I can install my programs.

The cost of the laptop was about $3600 but paid ~ $2900 after headphones were included and $250 off for delivery to students and other issues on the agenda of the process itself that is not my complaint, what happens, but sitting with a new camera and support useless just to ask me if I can use actually tomorrow at this price are unacceptable.

I would like to continue using it for a while.

You can try to reset the SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

  • Start again with new Macbook Pro to get iphotos?

Hello.  I just bought a new Macbook Pro.

    • MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, early 2015)
    • Yosemite 10.10.5 (14F27)

I implemented and transferred all my old information of Macbook Pro's Time Machine, which was on an external hard drive.

    • I don't know if I've used Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant
    • It took about 24 hours to pass through the automatic processes
    • Despite unacceptable all the time, everything now works like a charm and I have all my old settings.

Except that... aaah!... seven years of photos are gone from my iphoto library!  My old computer was erased and sold, so imagine my panic.

Looking at my TM backups, I think that the pictures are there, but I can't seem to them.

    • I can't copy the iphoto for my new Macbook library because it is something outrageous like GB 131 (I don't understand).
    • Import of the former library through the Photos app on my new Macbook translated "year error occurred while repairing permissions."
    • I can't do anything to the old iphoto library because I do not have the old Macbook.

I read something to the effect that there is a way in the configuration wizard for a box to check and retrieve the iphoto library.  I'm completely willing to start with the new Macbook.  I have only used it for about three weeks and don't need whatever it might be saved.

I would appreciate any advice on how to recover my photos of TM on my external hard drive.  If this notice includes restarting, please specify the EXACT measurements!

    Thank you in advance.

  • New MacBook Pro with El Capitan and CS6

Hello, I recently got a new MacBook Pro to replace an older Macbook and I am an old user of CS6.  I searched the forum and found many questions/answers about CS6 and El Cap, but most deal with people who have updated their current computer to the new IOS.  THIS isn't the case for me, since it is a new computer that has never had (yet) installed cs6

I want to determine if I can use my Photoshop CS6, bridge, After Effects, Illustrator, and Adobe reader and possibly first Pro with my new computer.  I don't like not everything (and some I do not know yet what it is) my main priorities are the PS, bridge and After Effects.

I have a 15 "MacBook Pro with IOS 10.11.4.  I am a bit confused whether I can run CS6 or not.  I'm getting mixed messages from different messages about patches, workarounds, and other things.

I prefer to use what I already have, but if I have to download CC is there anything I should know before I try to install it?

    Thank you in advance!

CS6 and previous programs have not been tested and will not be updated to run on Mac El Capitan

-which means you are trying to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems

-You can get CS6 and previous programs to install and run, or you can not (some do, some don't)

    -Java https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/dreamweaver-java-se-6-runtime.html can help

Install CS5 on Mac 10.11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003455 can help (also for others than CS5)
