  2. We do not know when will be released new computers or when they become available. The only people who know what is not allowed to speak.
  3. We are not allowed to speculate on the future computers here. All that I can say is that in the past when Apple launches a new system based on current designs (a MBP 2015 is updated a MBP 2016 model) prices remain substantially the same, or drop. When Apple makes a major design change is unclear what will happen.

  Basically, the best that we can do is say welcome and buy the computer when you need it. Even if Apple launches a new model of 2 months after your purchase (as happened to my wife when she bought his MBP in 2015 early) you will have one of the best darn computers made.

• Restored HD from a Time Machine backup of my old iMac (stolen) from my new MacBook Pro.  Not all the files have been restored.

  My iMac 27 "(2011) so my wife 13 '' MacBook Pro (2011) were recently stolen after our House was robbed.  My wife got a new MacBook Pro and I restored it successfully its data (selected "backup restore Time Machine" during the installation of its new MacBook Pro).  However, I also got a new 15 "MacBook Pro in lieu of the iMac 27".  I have, once again, selected "Restore from Time Machine backup" (selected the iMac as the backup source) when installing my new MacBook Pro.  When it was finally over, I told Time Machine to inherit from the backup.  Unfortunately, none of the files in the My Documents folder or the photos in my photo library have been restored.  Was it a bad idea to try to use the backup of the iMac as a source for the MacBook Pro (both running El Capitan)?

  is it possible that your documents are stored on another drive which was not part of the backup plan? or is the HD in the big enough MBP to inherent the old backup.

  If you open the time machine with the original backup disc, you should be able to browse the content

  My MacBook Pro is now a little less than two weeks.   If you have used any other processor of professional quality (for example, Microsoft Word), and then just go ahead and use the current culture of free (financially) applications on devices you mention. It will not take too long before you understand point Apple of giving them. No application in the world can open documents Pages but the most recent version.

  Pages is not a clone of Word, and you'll quickly realize that Pages input/export deal with the translation. Open a blank document. Type the letter "A". Export to Word .docx. It will be 494KO in size. Do the same thing in LibreOffice or MS Word and it will be 8 KB.

  What machine you're leaning towards? With Air, you have to use ether WIFI or have the old drive on an external drive configuration. With a new Macbook Pro, the simplest method is to use the migration assistant. Access your Macbook in public services and to see, there you have it.   This happened to me a while back and I didn't close the new computer and when I turned it on my old profile was there.

  I would only if you know for SURE that you have ALL of your saved information. I wouldn't tell you to do something and then you lose data because the migration does not properly perform. In my case, the migration is complete, but it got stuck on the same screen that you see. He said he had a minute left, but it was really over. If you do not have a backup, you can just wait out a bit longer AppleCare or contact for the best solution. New computers come with 90 days of telephone support, 3 years if you have AppleCare.
