New macbook pro cant shutdown

Hello

Ive had my new mac book pro running el capitan for less than a week and it now stop the habit or sign out unless I have hold down the stop button. I have limited this down to readers of google's fault as I downloaded it virtually nothing. But it's the finder that fails to close to close.

I have already gone through the process of deletion without joy google reader, I also tried force quit viewfinder and remove finder.plst (allows the judgment but back to square one on reboot.)

could someone shine some light on what do I do? This is my first mac and it is very frustratinting in just one week.

Thank you

Ed

Yes, but most likely you can not restore everything and will need to be selective about what should be restored because very probably a full restoration would take more than 100 GB and you need a free storage space so that you can not fill up the drive

  • Can I use a LED Cinema Display of pre-2009 with a new MacBook Pro retina?

    Hello

I am currently using a pre-2009 LED Cinema Display with a MacBook Air from mid-2011.

Now, I want to replace my old MacBook Air with a brand new MacBook Pro 13 "retina.

This combination works always and, above all, the Cinema Display Monitor will be able to manage the resolution of the retina?

I have never seen anything in the resolution of the retina on the screen of cinema in 7 years, so I wonder if he can really handle.

    Thanks for any help.

The Cinema Display isn't a Retina display, so it will not show HiDPI resolutions. But it will work fine with your new machine.

  • Restored HD from a Time Machine backup of my old iMac (stolen) from my new MacBook Pro.  Not all the files have been restored.

My iMac 27 "(2011) so my wife 13 '' MacBook Pro (2011) were recently stolen after our House was robbed.  My wife got a new MacBook Pro and I restored it successfully its data (selected "backup restore Time Machine" during the installation of its new MacBook Pro).  However, I also got a new 15 "MacBook Pro in lieu of the iMac 27".  I have, once again, selected "Restore from Time Machine backup" (selected the iMac as the backup source) when installing my new MacBook Pro.  When it was finally over, I told Time Machine to inherit from the backup.  Unfortunately, none of the files in the My Documents folder or the photos in my photo library have been restored.  Was it a bad idea to try to use the backup of the iMac as a source for the MacBook Pro (both running El Capitan)?

is it possible that your documents are stored on another drive which was not part of the backup plan? or is the HD in the big enough MBP to inherent the old backup.

If you open the time machine with the original backup disc, you should be able to browse the content

If the files are found, you can restore by right-clicking (or CTRL + left mouse)

  • Problems with the new Macbook pro 15' maxed out

Here's a quick post about my experience so far with the new macbook pro. I just got a brand new fully maxed out in spec macbook pro 15 inch 1 to SSD 16 GB RAM AMD R9 370 m GPU (set to automatic switching is not always) and a 2.8 to 4 GHz i7. I turned on and set it up which was nice and took 2 minutes. Then experience decreased a little when I saw an EST 05:36 hours of battery life remaining to 94%. So I loaded 100% and it is still 60% of battery life announced and no program running that I literally just signed a brand new machine.

Then I tried to use the migration wizard to import a backup of my iMac 5 k so I can do everything on this clone for my laptop. After having successfully connected (he told me if my password for time machine was incorrect or not) it froze and did nothing, continue did nothing.

Then place had to call support, was a guy on the phone in 30 seconds and I unplug and restart the machine time, always that same question so I transferred to a guy with "more training". The new guy I could say knew a little more and knew that I knew how to set my password or if I walked in their properly for a bit but they all have been set for the same password just for this. I created a second admin account called "test" under his leadership, and when the migration assist froze on this account, he was surprised and proceeded to transfer me off.

I preceded to restore fully the machine into thinking that my account setup is causing trouble with the migration assistant, and it turns out that the closure of that laptop it can only continue to 'download additional components', while that connected for 30 minutes so all last night was wasted, and now I guess he's got 5 left 12 hours to download original 'things '. Keep in mind that I can download 5 GB in one hour... After he wake up this morning and ending up where I left it last night :/ he says 84 hours go, now 72 and 51 and it is not updated even once in seconds, it took 20 minutes to 84 minutes to 51, it's literally a day 2 reset extravagance or what? Just to download it I can only imagine the actual plant until I can install my programs.

The cost of the laptop was about $3600 but paid ~ $2900 after headphones were included and $250 off for delivery to students and other issues on the agenda of the process itself that is not my complaint, what happens, but sitting with a new camera and support useless just to ask me if I can use actually tomorrow at this price are unacceptable.

I would like to continue using it for a while.

You can try to reset the SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

  • No new Macbook Pro...?

OK, here it is... I'm still working out of my mid-2009 13 "Macbook Pro.  I love the computer and have no problems with it, except that it's a bit old and a bit slow.  I'm a graphic designer and use a higher power.  I decided to do web design as well as a video montage.  I tried initially to the 15 "Macbook Pro, until I've heard talk about an update may be just around the corner.  13 June came and went with no new Macbook Pro.  Rumor has it that the 4th quarter is a better bet for an update.

The currently available 15 "Macbook Pro is not up to form today's availability for computers not mac.   Before that I let fall $2500 +, I need some advice.  Correspond to the old 15 "Macbook Pro is worth it or should I consider other options?  I need to make a decision in the very near future.

    Thanks in advance!

    Alex

No mention of the next round of MBP to correct.

We cannot speculate, however, we know new version don't occur until Sept/Oct.

The 2015 MBP is pretty sweet on all fronts.

Visit refurb/certificate if you want to save a few bucks. Same 1 year warranty with the option to purchase the extended warranty. Open boxes, returns etc through all the diagnostic test of apples.

  • How can I get my iTunes library is displayed on my new Macbook Pro?

I have a new macbook pro. my old macbook crashed. I try to access my iTunes library to my new computer and am not succeed. I have "authorized" this computer, but it does not appear on my list "manage devices" in iTunes. Any suggestions?

    Hi KathShan,

I understand that you have a problem with access to your music on your MacBook Pro. Let's see if we can get this sorted out.

If you use Apple iTunes game or music, then you will need to make sure you have iCloud active library. I opened iTunes preferences and on the general tab, you should see iCloud music library and make sure that it is checked. After that, your library will appear.

Take a look at the article below, but also a screenshot to preferences iTunes for more details.

If you use any music from Apple or iTunes game, then you will only be able to download your past purchases. If you can somehow have access to your old iTunes library, you can transfer them to your new Mac. Take a look at two articles that talk about this.

  • Can I import my Firefox bookmarks from an automatic backup to a new MacBook Pro computer?

I backed up my MacBook Pro 11 OS X Lion with Time Machine system and then got a new MacBook Pro 13 OS X Mountain Lion system. I can't use Time Machine to restore my system. I was able to drag and drop my files, but I forgot to backup my Firefox bookmarks HTML. Are automatic backups .json accessible Firefox for me on my external drive for Time Machine? Can I find one of these backups and restore it on my new laptop? I did not all new bookmarks, crushing would not be a problem.

Have you already found the Firefox profile folder in this Time Machine backup?

Fortunately brought my MacBook Pro retina display 15 "and connected to a Dell monitor. (Hours of hassle, but I have another question/problem).

  • Brand New Macbook Pro - gel

Bought a new Macbook Pro on the Apple Store in Melbourne 2015, less than a week ago.

Have anything else that Microsoft Office installed on the computer but it freezes at least twice a day, although a few Safari is open.

What should I do? Having been a Mac user for more than a decade, it is quite unacceptable - isn't this one of the main reasons why we all buy Mac, because of their so-called reliability?

    Hello..

Start Safe Mode removes the system caches that can help.

Upper left corner of your screen, click on the Apple  > Shut Down.

After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once you are in Mode without failure, return to the menu Apple . In the drop-down list, click: reboot

    On Safe Mode
