new memory upgrade of hp 15-r015dx

my daughter just bought a 15-r015dx and he has 4mg of ram.  It is said there are 2 slots available and it uses ddr3, but I'm trying to understand how it can be improved to memory, and of what type.  I tried to run the configuration of memory, but I can't find this model.

Thank you.

Hello

Recently saved this PC of my friend tries to throw it. Everything is fine with the PC. It works perfectly and there is no material visible failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new and had no need for this one.

Before turn me this into a House mutli-purpose server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.

So I did some research and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661

DDR3 240-pin DIMM 1333 MHz non - ECC, Max 4 GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16 GB module.

I went and bought RAM Corsair. Link to the product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9

I decided to get 2x4gb and upgrade later if I felt the need.

I was happy to install in the PC. one in DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.

    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I thought that maybe the slots are wrong, maybe they have to odd numbers then numbers.

So I changed the RAM of DIMM 2 DIMM 3.

    Once again, the annoying ringtone.

I even tried leaving just the 4 GB DIMM 1 and tried to start the PC, but nothing helped.

I tried a lot of different combinations with the end result is 5 annoying beeps.

After that I thought that maybe, just maybe, an update of the BIOS can change things.

So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW) and performing a BIOS update.

I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... frickin 5 beeps AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed at this point. I spent already $ 70 on a computer with free access.

I read the forums here, but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.

Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?

Any information would be gladly appreciated.

  • Tecra M9 - does not start after memory upgrade from 1 GB to 3 GB

I am trying to upgrade my M9 memory with little success. I bought a 2 GB module which is the same existing brand and spec to the 1 GB module, but the PC will not start no matter what options I try. So far I have tried:

    * Addition of 2 GB for the accommodation of extension from below (3 GB total)
    * Withdrawal of module 1 GB under the keyboard and its replacement by the 2 GB module

None of these options work. The PC gives no beeps or indications that there is a problem, the led lights on the way to the top, the drive led flashes and then it goes into a wait state. Nothing happens.

For the record, I bought initially upgraded memory that wasn't an exact match and I am now on my 3rd module suspecting a memory compatibility to be the issue. This current 2 GB module seems to fully match the 1 GB as well as being twice the size. It is:

    Hello

To me it sounds like the new memory module is not functional or not compatible with the laptop. Otherwise the cell would start without any problem.

If you bought the memory module in a store, you have to take it back and ask for a replacement.

I n t have experience with Hynix memory modules. For the upgrade of my laptop, I used Kingston memory and it worked without any problem

    New memory - Spectek DDR2 2 GB PC6400 800 MHz 200 pin

So, what's the problem? And what can I do?
    Thank you

    Hello

Theoretically, it should be possible to use 4 GB in this notebook.

The new RAM is the manufacturing of Spectek. This production does not for me. For me, looks not dear noname module.

I always use Kingston modules to upgrade my laptop. I've never had any problems with these modules, so you should try it to.
I think that the new module isn't compatible with your laptop.

  • What can I do to make the Satellite A665-S6086 run with the new memory?

I was able to update the BIOS for my Satellite A665-S6086 by updating 2.30 on CD burning. I have Windows 7 64 bit. I needed to update the BIOS, because I upgraded my RAM/memory of 2 GB (4 GB total) two cards two cards of 4 GB (8 GB total).

My question now is when I start my computer with the new RAM/memory (two cards that are KTT-S3BS / 4G Kingston DDR3 1333 MHZ SODIMM SGL RANK), it freezes on the screen from Windows startup. Then when I hold the power button to shut it down and restart it, it wants to start using Windows repair but then crashes again. When I put in the memory of the old man and he start up, it starts the Windows repair and runs normally.

Buy an another RAM modules that are fully compatible with the laptop.

    Hello

I have this laptop which came with Windows 7 and 1 GB of memory - I found very slow the 1 GB and bought an extra 4 GB of crucial DDR3 PC3-8500. When I install the new memory it is bios but Windows crashes (blue screen).

I don't check before hand, but the existing memory DDR3 PC3-10600, I know running 2 speeds at the same time is not ideal, but it does not have the 4 GB with the 1 GB or on its own.

Does anyone have ideas - PC3-10600 speed do I need?

    Thanks in advance,

    Craig

According to specification for laptop, your laptop must be delivered with 2 GB of RAM.
Are you sure that 1 GB is inside?

In any case, your laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM and compatible RAM modules are:
    1 GB DDR3-1066
    PA3675U-1M1G

    2 GB DDR3 - 1066
    PA3676U-1M2G

    4 GB DDR3 - 1066
    PA3677U-1M4G

Please check specifications for these modules using the part number. I assume that you now have a problem of compatibility.
What brand is the new RAM?

  • Satellite S1800-204: memory upgrade

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite S1800-204 memory which I just try to improve, two sticks of Kingston, 64 MB PC100 144pin SODIMM (like the one provided with the laptop) to two sticks of Crucial 256 MB PC100 144pin SODIMM. The manual of user leads me to believe that it is capable of supporting up to 512 MB and I can not find all the features that say the new memory should not be working.

Can someone help to solve my problem or tell me where I have gone wrong? I hope we have not bombed just from all this money for nothing.

    Hello

Yes. I also think that you should check if your modules are compatible.
I found in the official document that this device supports these modules:

    PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25)
    PC100 128 MB (PA3005U)
    PC100 64 MB (PA3004U)

As far as I know that you can upgrade this laptop up. 512 MB memory SDRAM (2x256MB).

  • Satellite L500-1XL - new hardware upgrades

    Hi all
I have the Toshiba Satellite L500-1XL and recently bought a new 500 GB internal HD and the upgrade went well. However, the internal transfer speeds aren't that fast. He is often out on 18mps level. Why? Affects of that? Use of the RAM, the use of the disk, the free storage space? The HD came with the laptop was 5400 with 8 MB, but my new is 7200 RPM with 16 MB with 11 seconds of access time. If that should not be much faster?

Also, how can we get the support of USB 3.0? Only through new hardware? I know it goes into Windows 8 as this means there could be a few Windows 7 supports or who is still dependent on material?

What are the most effective upgrade options to make my laptop run faster? He was modest. When I got it, but now use it for any need so get. Thus, upgrading to HD 160 GB to 500 GB (5400-7200), but it's unique processor with only 2 GB of RAM. I noticed on the Toshiba page so it says on a 64 bit system with 4 GB of RAM, the chart may use up to 1 800 MB of RAM upgrade RAM (not expensive) and then the processor? Even a single dual core would do the job? No need for a costly i3 and perhaps not compatible with the motherboard.

    Thank you!

    Hey Buddy,

And what was your old HDD? HARD disk speed depends on different factors. You copy a large number of small files and a large single file?
It s also useful to defragment the HARD drive from time to time. This can improve the speed. Also keep the system clean and use a registry cleaner like CCleaner that cleans up your registry.

USB3.0 is a different interface. This new operating system wouldn t help you because it s material new feature/upgrade.

Other improvements regarding: CPU and graphics card is not supported as you can read here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ35006D000RR01.htm

Your laptop has Intel GL40 chipset and the maximum RAM capacity is 4 GB. So you can install 2 GB DDR2-667 module in each memory location.

  • Re: Satellite L650/07C-boot-loop after memory upgrade

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 / 07C - PSK1JA-07C017.
To get a little more life out of it, I've updated yesterday with a SSD and 8 GB memory.

The SSDS works perfectly and I have installed OS and all the drivers and software.
However, the memory causes a boot loops. I returned to the standard 2 x 2 GB memory at the moment.

With the new memory installed, the computer startup-loops. When you try to start Windows, the computer will appear at the stage of loading Windows (the boot animation) and then restarts.
I tried to start with the recovery discs, and it arrives at the stage of loading of Windows Setup, and then restarts.
She will continue trying to start, then by restarting (then repeat), until I turn it off.

    The memory I installed is Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 (2 x 4 GB):
    http://www.Corsair.com/cmso8gx3m2a1333c9.html

For me, it looks like the same specifications that the modules of memory Kingston 4 GB listed on the Toshiba site as being compatible with my laptop:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/products/Accessories/memory/KTT-S3B/4G/accessories

I found the specs of memory recommended here:
    http://www.LASystems.be/PDF/Kingston/246787/KTT-S3B4G.PDF

If I go into the BIOS, I see that the memory is detected as 8192KB. The Toshiba site says that this laptop is expandable to 8 GB.

    Is there something I'm missing?
Is there another step I need to perform when upgrading their memory?
I don't know why it won't boot with the new memory modules in that I put.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I assume you have the Australian model is not easy to find info on the hardware upgrade. What I can say is that model European uses DDR3 1066 MHz memory modules and 4 GB of RAM compatible a part PA3677U-1M4G number.

It must be exact model described by microcens.
I recommend you use the tested and compatible memory modules.

  • HP 21-2014: HP 21-2014 in a computer, Ram memory upgrade question

Hello, I have a HP 21 2014 all in one computer. He now has 4 GB Ram memory and an AMD processor. I was wondering how it would be possible to increase the Ram up to 8 GB. Is there a certain number of model or brand of Ram do I need to buy? I looked a few things on Frys Electronics, but obviously I'm naïve. I really want to upgrade memory because I have some games which really lag on this computer, even if it is new, and I know it takes more may work properly. I wanted to see if someone can point me in the right direction. Price is not really a problem, I just want to know what would be a better job for this specfic HP model. Thank you!

    Hello

Explain what "is not except" means. Windows is not except the new memory or the BIOS does not recognize the memory or the PC does not start with the new memory?

We cannot answer your question, given the information you have posted.  You can certainly search the forum for others who may or may not have success the upgrade of your particular PC model to 16 GB.

Try to clear the CMOS memory. If this does not solve the problem then test each one dimm at a time.  Don't forget, with the former PC HP DIMMs need to be a game.

Try this memory bootable Diagnostics CD. Download memtest86 iso file and burn the disk using Imgburn.

  • The Veriton x 275 memory upgrade

We try to upgrade memory in some of our workstations in a local small business. We have about 100 Acer machines (models vary), but generally include the x 275 for our old machines.

We bought (through online vendors) memory from Corsair and Gskill (as their customer support is great and the products) However, none of the memory has been consistent. We bought (single) 2 GB and 4 GB kits (two-channel) nothing works. (All the sticks of memory were DDR3 PC3-10600 and the same voltage / similar timings as OEM chips.)

I looked in the online documentation for the Veriton x 275 (in which there are very few technical specifications or a list of qualified suppliers) and got absolutely no information on is that the memory taken maximum supported the recommended voltage, timings.

Someone has had problems upgrading these desktop computers and know what is best for the machines OR does anyone have access to the appropriate documentation that could shed some light on what we should buy? My only guess is perhaps the new memory is high density, and these machines can support only low density sticks.

It turns out that it was indeed a problem with memory being high density. We ended up ordering memory from crucial and had no problems what so ever. Even if the memory was the same exact timings, voltage and rated for the same speed, the difference between them is the density of the modules themselves. The old boards do not like high density memory (8 chips instead of say 4 for the same size) and yet the same version of high-density worked in newer models.

The original 2 GB key still works fine and the 2 GB key that I added back a bit works very well too (4 GB total).

But when I remove all the sticks and put in a new 4 GB stick the computer crashes in the POST just after the BIO 1024Mo of RAM (!). Looks like that the BIOS does not like the 4 GB stick! Compensation of the BIOS did not help.

Back original memory makes the computer works perfectly.

I am well aware of the memory manufacturer/type compatibility issues.

I tried 4 different memory of 4 GB sticks from 2 different sources with no luck.
