  Recently, I brought a Dell with Windows Vista and a Belkin Wireless adapter in my house somewhere else. The computer has never had problems connecting to wireless internet on the other networks, however since the move I was not able to access the internet. Sometimes the network shows only a local connection and not Internet and other times, the network has a strong signal, a network identified and even an internet connection, but when I open any browser, it is only able to load the Google homepage and I cannot navigate anywhere else. I turned off all firewalls and even uninstalled all 3rd party software protection. I checked all my browser settings and made sure they detect automatically the IP settings and proxy settings. In other words everything seems in good shape, but I still have no navigation capability. Any ideas?

  It turns out that I had to remove all the old Wireless USB software that had been used previously (there had been other versions of Belkin and Linksys). I then used the computer from my friend to download suitable driver on the Belkin site for the internet adapter USB I used and BAM.

  After hours of reading and checking to make sure I had good things enabled, I did, I gave up and uninstalled the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, they gave me and re-installed and later I had my friend get on Messenger and we tried games and it worked this time.
  For some strange reason when I updated it took me 3 tries before it took. So even if he told me that it has been installed, apparently it wasn't really. Just goes to show you that you can not trust what you see.
  What has really scratching my head was I went to Internet Explorer 8, which I never use more and discovered you can now get Mozilla plug in slip out there and when I did showed that same Adobe Flash Player is outdated but it was to a different version.   So, here's the deal, I have windows 8 and use IE10. I play an online game called World of Tanks and until yesterday, there was no problem of this game. Now for some reason I can't connect to the game on the server, more site of World of Tanks is not connectable for me also.

  Basic troubleshooting I've done so far;

  I downloaded Google Chrome and tried the site via the browser, no solution.

  I ran the diagnostic Windows programs, they regularly report that the site is online, but I can't connect.

  I can easily access both game and website via my sister's computer, so it's not the fault of game websites.

  I used a removal tool to rid my computer of McAfee, there is nothing.

  I have temporarily disabled firewall programs Windows, still no change.

  Sometimes, the game works fine, but usually it is unable to connect.

  I restored IE10 default settings and deleted all history, etc.

  I rebooted the computer, I rebooted my router.

  I have the same issue, but with several different sites on WIN8/IE10... I couldn't access the site of Ebay in a few days, if I can access hundreds of other sites very well.

  However, I don't think that this problem is related to IE 10 specifically, I can't access those sites when you use Chrome or Firefox.   I recently bought three new laptops with WIN8 and having exactly the same problem on all three machines. Can still access those sites very well on any of our old machines running XP or WIN7... same corporate network.  Confirmed that sites are online and working very well; connection is good; router is fine.  The only common denominator is that WIN8 blocking some sites... I can't figure out how.  BTW, I was able to access the site worldftanks very well.  I know this topic question addressing "issues of game", but I suspect that the cause may be the same as what tommay11 knew.  I was curious to know if he has a solution.
