HP Probook 455 g1: HP Probook 455 g1 - A4 to A10 upgrade?

Hello

I recently bought a HP Probook 455 g1, running an AMD A4 - 4300M.  Would it not possible/feasible to upgrade at A10 - 5750M?  I heard it can use the same socket, but may have problems...?  Or I will have to settle a few flavors of A8?

Thanks in advance,

John Paul Moran

Yes, it is safe to uninstall the HP Security Manager Client software.

It is not necessary to have installed and the operating system Windows 10 will do fine without it.

The purpose of the HP Client Security software is as follows:

"HP Client Security Manager provides Windows user name and the Web site single-sign - we enhanced capabilities." Security Manager is also the host of plug-ins HP Client Security and must be installed before other modules of Client Security. • HP ProBook 4520 s Notebook PC - CPU upgrade

Product: HP ProBook 4520 s Notebook PC
    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

    HELO,

I want to upgrade the CPU on my laptop. It comes with "Intel i5 m460" - 2 carrots. Is it possible to replace it with a 4 core CPU for example "processor Intel Core i7-720QM Mobile" or "Intel Core i7-740QM Mobile processor"? Is there a rule of thumb to check what CPU can be updated and with which we? What would be the best equipped (to the family of the i7 - 4 cores) CPU update for my situation?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Tom

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is no.

The best compatible optional processor is the Intel Core i7-640 M and has two physical cores can run four threads.

    Best regards

  • ProBook 4440 s cleanly put to upgrade to 8.1 Windows overheating 64bits

I took my Probook s 4440 which comes preinstalled with windows 7 64 bit (2 years ago) use it with an SSD in the last 8 months.

A week ago I did the following:

    1. open Notepad

2 - took the time to thoroughly clean all vents and fans. almost no dust was found.

3 - do you have a clean install of Windows MS 8.1 64bits.

4 installed MS Office bloatware and other applications.

5 - installed 'certain' HP utilities like power plan a selected balanced both plugged and unplugged

Since I upgraded to 8.1, I noticed that the computer overheats to the point if freezes or slow down.

As for the fan, I noticed that the fan starts at random (or not) when the computer is overheating.

I noticed that the overheating starting on hard drive (to the left of the mouse pad)

If I put my hand on the left vents, I can feel the hot air coming out.

No, its not heavy CPU usage. Sometimes, the laptop is slow but hot.

    Questions

Can what spare parts I use to replace the fan with a greater RPM?

How can I control the fan to be always on (I really don't mind a bit of noise in order to save my investment)

Am I missing some HP software that will control the overheating?

I see that HP has no fan control application and internet tools such as SpeedFan seem not to be able to manage the fan.

It's a workbook perfectly. Suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you

does anyone have a little app to control fan for some probooks (HPFanControl).

Personally, I would go back to windows 7, windows 8 - 8.1 has a lot of problems & bad drivers.

  • ProBook 650 1: Problems with W10 upgrade - Client VPN in my notebook?

    Hello

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 but, like many people, I encountered some problems with the Broadcom 802.11 wi - fi adapter. I read a lot of discussion about it and I decide to yestarday to roll back to Windows 7 in order to do a clean update by ISO and unisntall VPN. I read that Cisco VPN Client is the problem when upgrading to W10... but I'm not sure I have the Cisco Client in my notebook.
You help me find a software which VPN I have in my book?
I run Microsoft Fixit and found out that I have:
    Cisco PEAP
    Cisco LEAP
    Cisco EAP-FAST

Is this software VPN? Or not?

After having updated Broadcom driver on Windows 10 WiFi worked well, but I still had an error message ' Broadcom 802.11 network adapter wi - fi doesn't work "whenever I turned on the laptop.
In addition, it was impossible on W10 to open the Broadcom Wireless Tool (Control Panel) software, I always get an error message.

    Should I unistall Cisco software?

    See you soon,.

    "Hi @Kreiskybill,

I'm sorry that was meant to be an internal memo that I'm not trained on commercial products and I was hoping one of my colleagues would help, but I'll try my best to help you.

For your wireless problem, there are several troubleshooting documents available on the page of product support for your ProBook (http://ow.ly/ADK7301hCLl), that might be useful.  Also, here is the 'HP PC' document - troubleshooting wireless network and the Internet (Windows 10) consumer ( http://ow.ly/pIm0301hEIN ) for reference.

With regard to programs of Cisco that you listed, @SpiritX on the Microsoft Forums ( http://ow.ly/DAhQ301hCFt ) well answer your question about Cisco programs you listed.  I know that you are not running Windows Vista, but the answer is always valid for you.

  • HP Probook s 4720: Windows 8.1 upgrade

My Hp Probook s 4720, who was originally windows 7 built has been updated to 8.1 but after a few days, that the laptop does not start easily. And when it starts it may start to 8.1 windows interface and the gel. On other occasions, it displays a BSOD with various error messages that disappear as soon as they appear. The Defender is not also from Microsoft and dispalays the erroe message 0x800b0100. Also, some software is not installing. Please help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you have a couple of different problems.

First of all, the HP product for your device page lists no driver Windows 8 x - so they must have been installed as part of the "upgrade" or install you them yourself.  Problem with that is that laptops are delivered with the specialized requiring specialized drivers, and those that you download material site often will NOT work with laptops.  Thus, it could very well be partly caused by drivers, and since HP does not have to Win8x for your device, HP cannot provide.

Second, the problems you describe seem to indicate a failing hard drive.  You mention that your device provided with Win7, what makes this several years old.  Get 3 or 4 years on a hard drive in a laptop is on par.  So, if your machine is old, it is very likely the hard drive is a failure - this would lead to all kinds of start-up problems, the application and installation.

To verify that you need to do the following:

    (1) remove the hard drive from your laptop

    (2) using an internal cable or a USB adapter cable, connect the drive to a working PC

    (3) by using the information on the label on the hard drive, access the site of the manufacturer, download and install any drive to check the utility that they

    (4) run the utility on the disk

Utilities will usually tell you the parent 'health' of the reader.  IF they indicate that the drive is failing, your only recourse then is to replace, as you cannot repair a failing drive.

  • ProBook 450 G0 Windows 8.1 upgrade

    I have a Probook G0 450 running Windows 8 more Firefox, AVG2014 and AdobeReader 11.0.5, up-to-date with Windows Update.

I ran the 8.1 update the store, which lasted about 70 minutes and restarted successfully in 8.1.  AVG then requested a reboot, I approved

Since Windows does not start.  The screen remains dark, white 'Wireless' and 'ENG' symbols flashing to the left and to the right a few seconds apart, but much of the appraent disk activity.  Run all the diagnostics (fast) own.

I tried a restore F11.  Auto repair fails, mentioning a file - C:\Windows\System32\srt\srttail.txt - which I can't find on a command line.  Refresh your PC fails - says disk is locked.  Reset your PC fails - says a disk partition is missing.  No restore points - off, don't know why, but there it is.

At first glance, the disc is OK but content is screwed and I am faced with loading from a DVD of Windows 8/8.1.

    Ideas or comments?

Just find this on a users PC.

Start in safe mode and uninstall the Intel graphics processor that was also installed update.

Reboot and you should be in.

  • ProBook 6550 b: 6550 b memory upgrade

I am trying to upgrade memory of my laptop from 4 to 8 GB, but nothing seems to work.

I read EVERYWHERE that the memory should be 2 identical SO-DIMM modules with the same size and the same voltage, speed and timing, but the memory that was originally installed is 1 x 1600 mHz and 1 x 1333 mHz... with a different timing and different manufacturers.

I tried all possible configurations, but then the delivery of Memtest the system crashes every time after it has reached more than 4096 M... so 4 GB... which leads me to believe that is the maximum amount of memory that is taken in charge even though the manual says it should be 8 GB.

I have ugraded the BIOS that does not help, and the advice I found it should be 'low density' fails since the original modules are also normal density.

Does anyone have an answer? It becomes boring reaaaaally

    Hello:

The two that you listed, this is the one I would get if I had no other choice.

    http://tweakers.NET/pricewatch/420129/g-punt-skill-F3-1333c9d-8gsa.html

The memory of SL is 1.35v = will not work.

I would like know what the difference was between the SA flag (which is sold to the Netherlands) and the indicator of the SQ (for memory sold in the USA).

Other than those two things, the memory specifications are the same.

Maybe before you buy, ask them at the link contact us...

    Hello dear community

Long story short: I have a HP ProBook 4520 s and yesterday I upgraded manually (with the tool provided by MS) Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Everything went very well and smooth and it works perfectly well until now.

The problem is that some of the features of the laptop no longer work. Here are some examples:

    -Highlight the option on touchpad

    -built-in camera

-Some FN buttons like the one for the brightness of the screen while others (for example, the volume and email) working

My reasoning is that it lacks certain drivers or these functions are somehwat is not compatible with the new OS (it's a 5 + year old PC after all), but I could be wrong. I'd like to hear some suggestions and opinions on this.

If someone needs to my specifications complete, there are:

  • HP Probook 450 G2: establishment of HP Client Security

    Hello

I recently bought a new HP Probook 450 G2.  The updated provider upgraded the operating system to Windows PRO 8.1.

I'm trying to implement the fingerprint reader, but I can't.  I read previous forums and have ensured that the following drivers are updated:

In the user's guide HP protect tool (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03704246.pdf) and the HP Client Security technical white paper (http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/client-security/HPCS_whitepaper_Final_6_5.pdf) I read a while ago that HP Thin Client Security Setup Wizard.  Because the provider did the upgrade of Windows before you provide them with the laptop, I can only assume that they jump beyond this wizard.  I tried to find a way to get this system in place, but were unsuccessful.

Could someone please provide some guidance.  Keep in mind, it's a whole new machine.

    Thank you!

  • HP Probook b 6450 memory upgrade question

    Hi all

I seem to have a strange question seeks to upgrade the memory in a HP 6450 b probook (i5 - 480 m & ATI card). The laptop came with 2 GB of sps p/n 598856-002, which is ram 1333 mhz 1.5V with the manufacturer being ramaxel. I ordered and installed a few sticks of kingston 4 GB

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product/SKU/10473659/mfg_partno/KTH-X3BS/4G

Mounted to them and all appeared to be as well as the operating system (win 7 32 bit pro) showed the recognized as 8 GB stick and 3 GB usable, the bios also reported 8 GB as well. However the moment that a 64 bit OS (Linux or Windows) is tempted to run just the laptop falls down or crashes

I already tried this upgrade with two sticks of crucial memory but had exactly the same problem, so think about crucial memory was the question I put to the supplier and ordered the kingstons rather.

I saw very similar question mentioned here:

    http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/Forum/328016-30-memory-upgrade-ProBook

    and

    http://superuser.com/questions/580512/HP-ProBook-6450b-not-booting-after-memory-upgrade

My instinct suggests this notebook can be very picky about the memory chips, it may have to be a 4 GB key 16 chip versus chip 8 4 GB sticks.

Thoughts and help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    You are the very welcome.

Yes, I have never, ever install any module of memory in my notebooks from HP that does not 16 chips.

All the chips I use - 2 gigs and up, have 16 chips (8 on each side).

    Never had a problem.

  • ProBook 455 G2: Unknown device PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1423 & SUBSYS_14231022 & REV_00

    Hello

    Have unknown device: PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1423 & SUBSYS_14231022 & REV_00

    What means K15.3 AMD - IOMMU v2

I autodetectutility.exe use - but it does not help

After that uninstall catalist and install sp72887. Unknown device to remain

    HP ProBook 455 G2

    What can I do?

    Hello:

You will probably need to manually install the driver.

I know that is the one you need, because if you look at the contents of the driver file folder you can see that this driver has support for the hardware ID you have posted.

    [AMDIOV. NTamd64]
    % IOMMU. DeviceDesc%=NULL_DRIVER,PCI\VEN_1002 & DEV_5A23
    % IOMMU. DeviceDesc%=NULL_DRIVER,PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1419
    % IOMMU. DeviceDesc%=NULL_DRIVER,PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1577
    % IOMMU. DeviceDesc%=NULL_DRIVER,PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1423
    % IOMMU. DeviceDesc%=NULL_DRIVER,PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1437
    % IOMMU. DeviceDesc%=NULL_DRIVER,PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1449
    % IOMMU. DeviceDesc%=NULL_DRIVER,PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_1611

Sometimes the automatic installer does not install the driver, so you must outwit the PC.

Go to Device Manager and click on the device IOMMU requiring the driver.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp67924.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.

    Restart the PC.
