new owner iPhone4

I have an iPhone 4 that belonged to my son - how to reset the phone so that I can enter my apple ID and password and thus buy apps etc.

Give this link to your son. He needs to do the steps in the order listed

and slowly--to leave a step is completed before attempting the next.

Prepare your device for sale or to give

Once done, you should be able to configure the iPhone with your

AppleID and access code.

How can I change the name of the device (MacBook Air) to a new owner?

You change the name of the computer in the sharing preferences, if that's what you ask the subject. If this isn't the case, then be clearer on what you need to know.

If it is a computer newly purchased but used, then wipe you the drive and reinstall the original version of OS X that comes with it. So let the new owner set it up: what to do before you sell or give away your Mac - Apple Support.

    Hi Paul

I am very happy to hear that you are very satisfied. I use Tecra laptops for a long time (because of my work), but I am also interested in the Qosmio series. Qosmio G20 is my favorite, but for a short period, I bought TV with HDMI output.

I think that Toshiba will create new laptop Qosmio with this port. On this path I connect to my LCD TV and have the best possible image quality.

Good luck and have a nice time with your new toy!

  • What should I do? Sells iPad factory, new owner says reset access code is defined?

    Hello world

I sold an iPad 2 on Ebay (Jan 10) last month and it shipped overnight to get 12. The iPad was released factory suiteApple 'what to do before you sell or give away your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch' instructions. The iPad has been previously bought nine of the store and has never been sold or whatever it is. The Ebay buyer was an account with zero return.

February 17 (38 days later) the new owner sent me by saying that the iPad had a password on it. He claims that it is still in the initial Setup screen, quote "after the Hello message in 4 languages, a window pops up that says...". Enter code iPad requires your password after restart. »

Note that the iPad is not locked to one Apple ID (I checked the iCloud account and it's certainly not there). The error is only to ask the password - but the iPad was factory reset and installation has not been completed, which means that there should not be an access code. (I would like to focus on the resolution of the problem, but as far as I can see, there are two possibilities - someone went to halfway in the process configuration and set a password, or leave the iPad in Setup for more than one month has caused something to go wrong).

I searched and found this relevant issue: "I got locked out from my mini iPad during installation, keep me for password but I did not stay in a place" the solution he had to erase the device with the recovery mode. I sent this link to the buyer. It is a simple process that should only take a few minutes. He said he tried and it doesn't work. He won't say exactly where it breaks down or what error. I suggested he ask for help from someone who knows more about computers or it takes the iPad at the Apple store to reset them, but he says will not help Apple Store, the store nearest is 30 minutes and there is no time.

He says now that he wants me to give him my credit card details so that it can charge my card for a messaging service pick up the iPad. The purchase price was 137,99 £ + £11 shipping. I've already paid the fees of £14,89. He seems to expect a full refund, including pay me again for return shipping and pay me Ebay fees will not be refunded. Of course, in this scenario, I end up losing a little money.

    So, questions:

    • Given that he is out of the period of 30 days for returns of Ebay, is it possible to recover Ebay fees, if I accepted the return? I wouldn't mind him repay something just to get it, but it would be stupid to lose 1/3 of the value of the tax sale and delivery.
    • What can I do else? I really want to solve this problem, but my options are limited, when it cannot reset the password itself, is not going to the Apple store for the help and feedback from Ebay date limit is passed.

Thanks for all the advice and sorry for the long post (just wanted to just include all the details). I'll share this discussion with the buyer, and he is free to comment if he wishes.

Looks like you provided the buyer with all the advice we would give here. If they are unable to follow the instructions to clear the password lock screen and are 'too busy' to consider at the Apple Store to get help, I don't really see how you are responsible for this. Why he has waited more than a month to put in place even though they knew they had a day 30 back window? Why is he not come on why the instructions that you send it to get the matter resolved "does not work"? This kind of problem is solved per day on this site. But when someone tells us that they "can't" do something and will not provide exactly the problem they face, we cannot do anything more for them.

So, from the point of view troubleshooting, the buyer has the opportunity to provide you with more information, so you can help, or take the time to go to the Apple Store to get help. If the device is not locked activation, which it wouldn't since you followed the instructions on what to do before you sell it, then the question is operator error. There is nothing wrong with the device. The only question is to reset and do put in place.

I don't see how we can all do more for someone who is not willing to work with you, or who's not ready get a form to help someone who understands what they are doing (because it is clearly not).

    Good luck

  • New owner of seniors, out of warranty machine... now what?

I just restored a p6226f old Pavilion of 4 years which was intended for recycling. This machine has a larger capacity and is more powerful that Office I have used, but was ruled out due to being 'irreparable '. I restored it to factory conditions. I'll take it online to get and install all security updates (MS more HP, etc), but then what?

    1. I'll be able to run the trial software versions, even if they were already installed once?

    2. what happens when I join the BONE under the same product code? Who warn that there is a new owner for the transfer of licenses?

    3. fill the registration will create conflict with the news of the former owner being associated with this serial number, etc?

Anyone have any suggestions for what I need to do to fully legitimize this machine and its software?

    Thanks in advance!

Microsoft will not come after you for your newly acquired HP computer. Your desktop HP Pavilion p6226f come from the factory with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) installed and pre-activated. When you picked up the system, the other day, he has been once again pre-activated. Pre-activated means that Windows has been activated without having to go online or call Microsoft. This is entirely on the computer using a special HP OEM Windows key (not the one on the side of the computer), a special HP OEM certificate and a special table in the BIOS.

    If you want to see for yourself, try this;

Download and uncompress ABR Beta with Windows 7 Support. This is the homepage of ABR for Windows Vista. Please follow the section "How to use" for information and instructions on how to use it. These steps also apply to Windows 7. Perform the 'activation' on your computer backup and save the certificate and the key has been recovered on the 'bureau '. Now open the file 'backup-key' and to compare this key on the side of the computer. Not even close to the same thing.

  • 8 issues of the new owner of the Satellite Pro L300

    Hello to all forum users!

I bought a new Toshiba, the Satellite Pro L300 laptop and have until January 14 to test - if it looks like it is not working properly I will return it to the store where I bought it.

Here is a list of questions I have:

    1. whenever I turn on the laptop or it is suspension or hibernation mode, and when I disable it, the cd/dvd drive makes a clumsy mechanical noise.

It seems to me like the cart that transports the laser and optics is running in a mechanical stop.

    Is this normal?

    2. There is a hot sub-pixel on the screen (in blue) and according to the Toshiba info in the box, this is normal and does not return.

    Should I worry about this?

    3. when I run the test memory at the start of the system, she says she'll start windows automatically at the end of the trial and show me the results of the test.

It performs the test, Vista boot, but I see no reports of results.

Where can I find the report?
Is there a known issue with this test?

    4. the service program Toshiba to perform diagnostics of slot Vista does not work. Whenever I run the test (PCdiag.exe) I get an error message Vista saying a defect was found in the KERNEL32.dll module.

Where can I get a fix for this?
I have already installed the updated files on the Toshiba web site for the "Value Pack", which is where this utility, but still not the error message.

    5. I want access the settings of the bios at startup, but have not found a way to do it again.
F2 gives me a menu for memory test or normal boot system.
ESC is not me in bios Setup either.
There is a utility for bios Toshiba that I can run Vista, and I see that any upgrade bios firmware should also be done through Vista.

Is there a way to access bios at startup?

    6. I would like to run XP on this system and realized that this model (Pro L300 PSLB1E) is compatible XP, and I should be able to download all the drivers from Toshiba to run under XP.

    Does anyone do this?

    7. the laptop and configured Vista Basic when I did the first power on, but the license sticker on the bottom of the laptop has a product key for "Vista OEMAct Business." I was captivated by this laptop as the option to revert to XP Pro with Vista business. The box did not come with any CD or DVD and no manuals explaining how to install Vista Business.

This is reason enough to return the laptop in the store where I bought it, which is a chore, I prefer to avoid if I can install Vista Business.

Can someone help me understand what is happening here?

    8. is there a way to contact technical support by e-mail?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer all of these questions!

    Hello

Two weeks ago, I worked several days on friends Satellite Pro L300. Your questions are interesting and I will try to provide an answer or comment.

1 this is normal behavior. I noticed it on other models of computer laptop too. Right now I use Satellite P200D and I noticed the same thing.

    2. of course, you may have noticed a dead on the screen pixel and more on what you can read on
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB5400ZD0002R01.htm
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ8702EI0000R01.htm

    3. maybe follow links can help a better understanding:
    http://web1.Toshiba.ca/support/TechSupport/TSBs/all/-TSB001369.htm
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial146.html

    4. what to say about this? I t has not noticed this error and I can recommend just reinstall full VAP. Remove preinstalled system, restart your computer and install the latest version of the Toshiba download page.

    5. When you start the laptop downstairs you can find info how to enter the BIOS settings. It usually takes F2. I really don't understand what is wrong in your case, but must work F2. Press immediately after turning on your laptop. Press several times. You have to work

    6. If you can find the download page of drivers, tools and utilities on Toshiba Windows XP Home edition, you should be able to install and configure Windows XP Home edition on this model of laptop. For the installation of Windows XP edition family please use Windows XP SP2 home edition.

    7. This must be clarified with your local dealer. The fact is that Toshiba doesn t offer any CD/DVD and recovery DVDs must be created by the owner of the laptop. I presume that you didn t seen or read Toshiba reminder about it. This point explains exactly what needs to be done.
The recovery media can be created using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery creator. The shortcut is placed on the desktop.

    8. I'm afraid, you must contact the hotline, but as far as I know Toshiba's toll-free hotline.
Call and ask if there is something you want to know.

    Good luck!

  • new owner, old computer: how to change the property?

I get back from a near-fatal brain injury. A friend gave me his old laptop and permission to try to help in my rehabilitation. I am trying to appropriate, without losing access to his files (which I'm currently collecting and unload on other media), and without sacrificing the software so that it is already paid.

    Any advice?

Create a new user for yourself from the control panel > user accounts. Regarding the registered owner:

    http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_change_owner.htm - Changes the registered owner/company

This will do nothing to help to appropriate files however. I don't know why you need to do this anyway, but to take possession of the files:

  • New owner Acer 5551

    Hi all

I just had an Acer 5551-2648 after that my laptop old and tired cratered. I searched on the web, a lot of learning, but some questions remain:

The Acer support site lists for the 5551 bluetooth drivers, but AFAIK, it came standard with BT

I know that I can use a USB BT dongle, but I would rather use a USB port.

Nobody knows what form the BT ability takes? Is the card BT his own card or is it integrated? There is a WIFI prevention half mini PCI card installed now, and there are maps wifi/BT prevention available in the same form factor. If it works, it would be great.

Integrated or separated, do anyone know the part # for the module BT?

    Also:

-Does anyone know what lives in the compartment at the rear of the machine, next to the battery?

-5551 has to a full keyboard size with a numeric keypad. At present, the digital section behaves as a control of cursor (arrows). Press NumLock it switches to a very fine control of cursor (pixel-by-pixel?), but no combination of keys I could find it transformed into a numeric keypad. The former owner pointed out that the keypad has worked at the same time.

A lot of research on the web, find the same question, but no answers.

I can't afford to pay for a new machine right now, and I want to get the most out of this nice gift.

For any help or suggestion with gratitude will welcome.

    Thank you.

    Bluetooth:

Not all series Aspire 5551 comes with bluetooth.  Please see these articles:

How to know if your computer has Bluetooth
My computer has a Bluetooth icon, button or software. Does this mean that my netbook or laptop a blue...
The Council of bluetooth was a separate Board for the WiFi card and need to lay a cable way in the chassis.

I don't know if its replacement by a combo card would work or not, who is not tested and not supported.

The compartment next to the battery was for option 3 G module.

  • Absolutely new Z10 smartphone blackBerry user, a senior, new owner of the BlackBerry Z10, you have questions a little later

I am a new user of a smartphone and a BlackBerry, a Z10 with Bell, I'll give you the mandatory model number when I have a specific question.  I am 2 days in this, still getting the thing 'gesture' down pat, I'm not too good at this but the representative showed me.  Not a shot on the table-toss-away motion.  There seems to be some screen pages that don't gesticulate to the small size of box at all, as far as I know, some people, when they may be X'd OFF... but they seem to go away once as the main icon screen is in place for a bit...

I have a message for the company of BlackBerry and it is, please add some info on your User Guides and instructions on the Web pages [this is written on my laptop, I gave the Z10, a rest] for THE BEGINNERS of SMARTPHONE.  They generally speak to previous owners of older models BlackBerry or those who know the fact and not the person like me who has to learn to 'gesture' and tap and "stationary", etc...  It is covered too quickly and too not clear in videos and demos, you have online.

I fear this could cause frustration for new users... in any case, I'm persistent.

    Please persevere.

I have to admit that the Z10, great as a phone as it is, is not the beginner phone. Even I, with years of experience of BlackBerry, took some time to adapt to it. Once you get the hang of it, you'll see that it's the best smartphone that you can buy. Until that happens, I hope that you'll hang in there and give him a chance.

    See you soon.

  • X 220 new owner: Trackpoint, how to make it productive?

I am the proud owner of a 220 X and an owner of first Thinkpad. Only one problem: the Trackpoint. Everything takes more time, scroll, click, point, everything! You Loyalists, gets more easy? Help me please. Y at - it a learning curve? You're actually faster with the Red Tracpoint? I mean, everybody wears a USB mouse in their case? I configured mine so the trackpad is out. The Trackpoint is set to scroll, normal mode. (Smooth roller is weird and awkward). Is precisely the Trackpoint productive once you learn not to exceed and how to hit the spots? Thank you!!!

    Yes, it's just convenient.

The technique that worked for me was to go in the mouse settings and compose all sensitivities down as low as they could go-'the pointer speed' completely low, click "enhance pointer precision," then go to the Ultranav tab, click on settings for the Trackpoint and put the slider all the way to the "closed" button

With the parameters like this will give you the most latitude to learn the trackpoint. As you learn, need you more time to move the mouse pointer it would have with the touch pad or mouse. But you'll get to keep your hands just the keys home even when you're mousing. (This is why the trackpoint seems to go hand in hand with the typing, I think.) Over time, you're going to get better and more quickly on trackpoint and you can mount the sensibilities back little by little.

Eventually, you will move the cursor more quickly than you could with a mouse or keyboard.

I have not plugged a USB mouse on my 220 X never, I think, and I prefer the Trackpoint to other forms of control mice, including large keys to multipoint touch touch.
