New owner of x201t-Q about fan always running, more vibrant computer, screen wobble, etc..

Hello

I recently took a x201t, which, in many ways, is a big enough computer.  However, I have a few questions-

(1) the fan noise-
The fan is still running.  Is this normal?  When things are busy, is not a big deal, but in the morning, or when I write by myself, it's quite remarkable.  It would be nice to have the computer really shut up when I'm pretty mellow tasks such as word processing or surfing the web.  I can do something to reduce RPM fan?  Or perhaps the turning off until things heat up?  I watched Speedfan, but I see nothing specific about him to help with this.  It was as if she was not news to computers.  ???  I've never used before so maybe I'm just not use right.

(2) vibration-

Perhaps because of the fan runs always, or perhaps because of the disc hard turns all the time, the computer has some kind of vibration to it all the time.  This isn't a problem when typing or to use as a portable computer, in general, but it's sort of unpleasant in its use in the form of tablets, I can feel the vibration through the body of the computer all the time.  Is this something normal that I'm just getting used to if I want to use this computer?  It goes away after the first days of use of Win7?

(3) outdoor screen-

I have very bright screen, which is great when I turn the handle to the top and do some art work on this.  However, I noticed a sort of 'wave' of the darkness which moves on the screen depending on the angle that I consider the screen.  In fact, I find myself having some kind of angle of vision limited, because I don't want this wave of shadow to fall half across the screen.  I guess it's some sort of coating, they put on him to help with brightness and what not in the open air, but that he also asks questions of visibility inside.  Make another screen have this coating too?  I heard free 300nit bezel screen is very nice also.  I'm curious to know if I should try to get that instead.

So one of the things I was wondering is if I should just simplify and get a x200t, since it can run more fresh and more silent - that would help the fans, etc. - and maybe get an inside screen instead.  These changes should help solve some of the problems I have?

(4) I forgot. I have a wobble screen - where the joint joined the Fund.  Is this normal too?  O send this in fo repairs to fix that?  On a table, that's fine, but on my lap or when I'm up in something, it wobbles a lot.

Thank you!

BTW, just to let others know - I used TPFC, and it's a great program. I've always been unhappy with the warmth of the x201t however. I never had in the 40 C. Actually sold and got a x200t with an SSD and I have been much happier with that. Now with TPFC (which allows me to completely disable the fan or keep it at level 1) the computer is idle easily in the low 40's or high 30 years. In addition, I discovered one of the great advantages of an SSD is the fact he is silent. So, clearly, the hard drive was a part of the question has been well.

In short: between an SSD and a TPFC x200t I now a silent, cool, computer running in the 30 top and mid-1940s.

I tested with the latest divers chipset intel and Nvidia alsow driver and it's always the same.
So my concludes is the BIOS, is Toshiba knows something about this problem and work on a newer bios?

Everything indicates that the BIOS 4.10 is the problem common to the always high speed of the graphic fan even when the PC is in sleep mode.

I want to see action as a new revision of the BIOS 4.10!

What? Cooling modules run, even in this case, the cell phone is off?
Press the power button for at least 4 seconds, then the laptop must be turned off.
Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery

  • Satellite Pro L series: fan always running even at IDLE when LAN is on

the fan always running even at IDLE when lan is on
Thanks for any help, that can stop the fan...

    Just see your questions:
What model of laptop do you have exactly?
    What system do you use?
What exactly do you mean by power of LAN?

I can tell you that the cooling modules are controlled by fan table stored in the BIOS.
Usually, the fan starts to spin if the CPU would be responsible for some unique applications/processes. It would also be possible that your fan is running continuously with low performance to maintain the low temperature. This isn't a real problem for laptop.

On this virtual path that it is not possible to provide accurate diagnosis, and to say with certainty what the problem is here, but if the warranty is valid contact Toshiba service as close as soon as possible and ask for help.

    They have to fix.
Unfortunately, this kind of problems, your possibilities are quite limited.

  • Do the Satellite P850-30V fan to run more quickly or reduce heat accumulation?

So I've always had a lot of problems with this laptop of heating, and when maintenance of the fixed Bank nothing I assumed it was a feature, not a bug (so to speak). I often use it to play games, but while most of the games to automatically detect high graphics settings, I can't actually run these because of the massive accumulation of heat.

If I put the machine in power saving mode, use a cooling pad and transform the graphics for the smaller settings, I can usually run things (even if they are slow and ugly), so even if it was a discomfort I treated just with her.

However, when today I was installing an update of the BIOS, I noticed that the fan ran faster that I never saw before, that irritated me a bit because it runs more slowly even when the computer is about to overheat.

Since then it can clearly go fast that the problem is obviously not an accumulation of dust.
The only options for control of heat are those in power options, that are totally unnecessary. Is there something wrong with my computer, I'm missing something in terms of fan control or I was just a sucker for the purchase of this company in the first place?

    > The only options for control of heat are those in power options, that are totally unnecessary
Windows power options are not useless
Is that you can control the CPU as well as the method of cooling performance.

Here is a very detailed explanation of each option
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD12017W0001R01.htm

I recommend you to check the CPU power management area and change the State of the processor Maximum max 85%
Also the cooling method should be set to 'active '.

In any case, to avoid the high temperature of the GPU, you also use the Toshiba page graphics cards drivers because these drivers are modified and released for mobile use

  • Satellite R830 - 10 c fan always run very fast

    Hello

I just erased the hard drive and reinstalled all CD recovery disc. The only additional software that I installed is windows office 2010.

I have read other discussions on the fan and changed the setting to colling under voltage of the battery and I've updated the BIOS. I don't think I have the recognition of the fingerprint software installed only face.

However fan works always very very fast all the time. Processor, which is an i3 2310 @2. 10 GHz, around 30% and 50% of RAM is bieng used approximately 2.04 GB.

IEXPLORER uses more CPU and RAM to all about 02-05 looking at the Task Manager and about 482 000 K memory. I have 92 processes. System Monitor is running the most discussion, 145 under resources. I don't know what this means, but the blue line on the chart of the CPU in the resource manager is always upward at 100% outside the odd dip to 95%.

Anyone with any ideas or solutions, it would be much appreciated!

    Thank you

It is a known issue with McAffe. Remove this preinstalled trial version will reduce CPU activity and automatically cooling fan runs much quieter. I put t know what antvirus you use now but with Avira antivir, you'll be happy.

  • Dell PowerEdge Fans always runs in full speed

    Hello

I have a problem with a Dell Poweredge 2900 server witht. The server is still running the fans at full speed.

I tried to update the latest version of the bios and the firmware for environmentally sound management, but the problem is not resolved.

Dell OpenManage shows only a single error, said of the intrusion into the chassis, casing is open, but case is closed properly. I think that the sensor is bad, I try to look for the switch, but I can't.

Please let me know where is the switch of intrusion of the chassis on this server, or how to disable.

    Thank you

As suggested by Theflash1932, the intrusion switch may be damaged and located on the Bay of housing Center fan. It cannot be replaced as one of its components. See the image below.

It is replaceable like a Bay of housing of Dell part number: NF078

I think the answer is maybe. I would say that it will almost certainly not install backup in the Finder. But it may possibly install if you use restore to TM.

    Good luck.

  • Re: Satellite L550D-12F - fan is always running

    Hello!

We have a Toshiba L550D-12F and we are quite satisfied with the device itself - if it wasn't noisy fan. The fan ALWAYS runs audibly and I can't find any setting in the BIOS to its control.

For my pain verxy I do not also find a support contact form to contact Toshiba so I hope that someone here will have a solution... Thank you very much!

    Sincerely,
    Matthias

    Hello guys

I hope that my advice will help a little. I recommend you to use the laptop with the balanced power plan. Pleae change also advanced for this plan. In the advanced settings, you will find Toshiba power saver and the cooling method options. Place the change on the lower level.
It should reduce the activity of fan.

For example, when I use my Tecra A11 at the office for Office and mail applications I use for laptop and power management standby runs very quiet but the performance are always good.

  • Fan is always running on Satellite L350D - 12 M

    Hello

I just wanted to ask - is it normal for a laptop to be fan always on as soon as I turn on the laptop fan comes in and hot air out its an AMD Athlon x 2.

    Thanks for any info

On most of the portable fan will begin to operate a few seconds after turning on the laptop computer.
Is that CPU reached high enough temperatures in seconds and cooling sensors detect it and fan will begin to run fast enough.

When the operating system is loaded fans will run more silent. You can reduce the activity of fan if you change the value of cooling method in Toshiba saving settings.
This option, you can find in the advanced settings of the power plan that you use.

I have the Satellite L300D before me and it runs pretty quiet after changing the value of the cooling method. Simply, set it to optimized battery.

  • HP Envy: Updated, now Fan always on top

It used to be that if the fan was running upstairs, I closed just a few apps and it would immediately slow down and be almost inaudible.

Now the fan is always on (and the air coming out is hot enough) even when no apps are open, and the room is 62 degrees.

I did all the standard things:

    • Updated the BIOS
    • Cleaned all vents
    • Disabled indexing
    • Off many other features
    • Turned Coolsense works

I have to just live with the extra noise?

    I went to this page:

Finished and disabled the windows update and a few other things, and now the CPU usage dropped by 20 percent to about 2 percent.

I don't know exactly which thing solved, but now the fan is nice and quiet.

  • Portege Z830 - fan noisy and almost always running

My new Portege Z830 has the issue of noisy fan and almost always running which has been said here before.

Recommendations were that we download bios 1.6. But I checked and that the version is already installed on my machine. I also adjusted the power save mode battery parameters as others have suggested. But that made no difference,

All the other tips has been give in technical language far this beginner.

If anyone has any suggestions they might put in words of one syllable and the step by step instructions, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you.

I found also two documents from Toshiba on exactly this topic and as saying that update BIOS version 1.60 or higher would solve the problem

  • Satellite Pro A120 (PSAC1E-05E01FIT) - fan always to the maximum. Speed

Hello, in this laptop now I istalled this CPU: Intel Core Duo (Yonah) [email protected] and it's OK.

This morning, I tried to replace the processor with this: Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T7200 (Merom) processor.
Works from pc but didn't enter the BIOS, the fan always starts at maximum speed, S.O. Windows XP Pro has started, but the fan still max speed!

    Why?

    Hello!

You also have this problem with your old CPU?

In my opinion, the problem is the new processor. Maybe your motherboard / CPU doesn't support and so the fan run always on the highest speed.
If you just replace the CPU by yourself, it could be that you have used enough thermal grease.

Updates on the laptop I can prefer this Toshiba document:
